You get a lot of food for your money

The food was fantastic and the portions were humongous.

Truly, one of a kind. I’ve been coming here since I was a child in the 80’s and Chef Mohammed has only gotten better. The menu is completely unique for anywhere. The Middle Eastern food is not only authentic, but objectively really excellent for anywhere in the U.S. The portions are generous. The dips, the appetizers, the soups, and the entrées are all great if you’re willing to be adventurous. The service is friendly, and the chef sometimes comes out and says hello. It’s a hidden gem in South Jersey.

Can’t say one negative thing about this place. Chef is a wizard in the kitchen. You won’t find better food and more honest people elsewhere

Awful Meal. Made a reservation October 21st after reading rave reviews. Pulling in to this restaurant the first impression was it was run down and unkempt. This was confirmed once inside the dark, drab, cold and uninviting interior. I had to keep my coat on with hands in pockets, except when trying to eat, the whole time. The place desperately needs refurbishment and heating. We were shown to a table in the bar area which only had back lighting from a hallway behind the bar. I sat on a booth like bench seat which became so uncomfortable I switched to a chair on the other side of the table. My back is now so bad I’ve had to take painkillers and alternate between heating pad and ice to my back. We ordered the octopus starter to share. It came out looking black in the dim light, speckled with uncooked bits of garlic, sprinkled on as an afterthought. The octopus was so charred the only taste was burnt. Then came our salads which we couldn’t eat. There was limp mixed lettuce, one small cherry tomato, one slice of green pepper, one piece of cucumber and a thin slice of radish. The vinegary house dressing rendered the salad inedible. Then came our main courses. There was far too much food for 2 and in the dim light both dishes looked like piles of mud. My husband had the lamb stew, which he didn’t like at all and normally he loves lamb in any form. I had the scallops in lobster sauce. The sauce looked and tasted like the glutinous brown gravy you can buy in jars at the store. It ruined the taste of the scallops, and vegetables, and there was enough rice for 4. Needless to say we did not take home doggie bags, the food would have made our dog sick. This was our first visit to this restaurant and it will be our last. I don’t understand all the great reviews especially the one on Google featured on their headline page!! This place is the opposite of a “hidden gem”!

Slow service but very nice people. The food can be a little dry sometimes too. But the women that owns the place is my old 1st grade teacher.

The chef make the best Mediterranean foods and cuisine

We have not been in NJ for four years. We are up from N C and plan to go to the Golden Pyramid tomorrow. It was the best restaurant that we went to. We can hardly wait for tomorrow.

The only regret I have when talking about Golden Pyramid is not discovering its Egyptian, Italian, and Mediterranean blend of heaven sooner. The cuisine breathes the experience of a chef who's honed his expertise over decades and pours his heart into every meal. Chef Mohammed cooks with a masterful attention to the finest detail; every dinner here is made to order. Tonight I started with his Greek lemon chicken soup. There's no question the powerful lemon zest asserts itself as the star of this soupy show. It's bolstered by a cast of appetizing ingredients that play a passive yet impactful role. It's lightness leaves room in your stomach for delights to come without broaching a feeling of levity. Every bite offers a new perspective in taste, its flavors taunt you to find them. I followed with the chicken curry as my entrée, selecting garlic mashed potaotes and saffron rice as sides. The garlic mashed potatoes are wonderful. They inspire a sense of nostalgic familiarity without being offensive in their originality. The handmade smoothness complements an intentional amount of texture so as not to become machined mush. As with all of Chef Muhammeds cusine, I find it difficult to stop myself from hastily devouring what's before me. Not doing so would prevent me from appreciating the lifetime of complexity he's created. Likewise, the saffron rice demands to be savored with patience. Those who dont risk missing the subtle entirety of an artisinally crafted spice blend. It pairs incredibly well with his sweet chicken curry, an entrée largely, regretfully unfamiliar to the American pallet. Chef Mohammeds culinary brilliance is on full display here. The natural heat that often accompanies curry is assuaged by the addition of coconut and raisens. It's not fully absent though. He's designed a dish that dances an ever so slight tinge of heat, perfectly moist tender chicken breast, and creamy sweetness into a flavorful ballet. I find it easy to describe every entrée here in similar light, they all embrace a unique gourmet vision. Golden Pyramid is both a treasure waiting to be discovered and one to be cherished by those who already have. Cindy and Chef Mohammed work tirelessly to provide Mays Landing with a local, authentic dining experience and it's a better place for it.

Food is great you get alot for your money I like the whole fish with the stuff mushrooms and lobster sauce.

You can not beat the seafood combination broiled! It is amazing and the portion is very generous! We love the service and the food. If you have never been there you have to try it!!

Went last night with a friend. They were packed with 2 or 3 parties and short staffed, but the waitress was super nice and apologetic for the wait. Had the Egyptian Chicken, Shish Kabob, Coconut Basbousa, and Falafel. EVERYTHING was great. Had enough leftovers for another meal or two. Place is cozy and relaxing overall. Will definitely be a common place for some nights out. Thank you for a great time!

Fresh, delicious food made by a passionate chef, friendly staff who are so helpful, a wonderfully diverse menu, and generous portion sizes of said outstanding food

To say the food was deliciously impeccable is an understatement! I have been wanting to try Golden Pyramid since it was in its old location, but life happens. So thrilled to finally have eaten (stuffed myself) there! Chef Mo really packs a punch when it comes to making top-notch, fresh, healthy, gourmet food! Our server, Joseph was wonderful, kind, and very knowledgeable. I had the Seafood Platter Special which included stuffed flounder, blackened salmon, shrimp, and the most delicious scallops I’ve ever eaten. Garlic mashed potatoes and veggies as the side, and the meal started off with a complimentary trio of Mediterranean dips and pita, followed by an appetizer of falafel, and amazing crab bisque. We left with so many leftovers as the portions are more than any one human can handle in a sitting, which is amazing. 1000% would recommend eating here to everyone.

Some of the best food you will ever get and the portions are huge. The crab bisque is possibly the best soup. Worth the trip for sure, but call ahead so you get a table

AMAZING CUISINE, EVERY TIME! I LOVE the Egyptian Flounder and my husband alway orders the Paella and we ALWAYS go home happy and with left overs (the portions are ridiculously generous!) This is our FAVORITE place to go. The Golden Pyramid gives quality AND quantity. Do yourself a favor and GO! (Save a seat for us!) 💕

I don’t know if they had a bad night but I was extremely disappointed. First of all I want to start off by saying the wait staff were very pleasant. Nice and friendly, hence the 2 stars. My husband and I read reviews on here and decided that this is the place to go! Amazing reviews! Completely not what we experienced at all. The couple of 1 star reviews really hit the nail on the head. My husband and I were standing by the host table ready to be seated for around 5-10 mins. No one acknowledged us at all. It was quiet in the restaurant so it was super awkward with no music playing and everyone just staring at us. Felt like we walked into class late! Then when we were finally seated the waitress was pleasant and we continued to order food. We both had the Egyptian Chicken with rice and veg. The chicken was BLAND as anything even with the sauce they put over it. The rice didn’t taste like saffron rice at all more like Uncle Bens microwave rice and the vegetables were mushy and bland too. My fault for not asking for salt but there was non on the tables so I thought asking for salt would have been insulting… The sauce over the chicken was watery so my rice was just swimming in water. Had high hopes for this place and again, maybe it was just a bad night.

I love this place. Everything i try is very good and staff is very friendly. If you want something different and extraordinary, this is the place to go. As you see there is no bad reviews here. I can't wait to go again.

Love, love, love this restaurant! The food is fantastic and the servers are friendly. The lamb is to die for so is the seafood. I have never had a bad meal there and Mo gives you so much food that there is always left overs for the next day. YUM!

First experience at the Golden Pyramid! First was the appetizers, the octopus was amazing! I could have drank the oil that it was in right from the plate. And the stuffed mushrooms were great. Very generous crab and the saffron sauce was tasty. We had the lamb and the paella. Both dishes were generous and very tasty! The lamb was cooked perfectly. Our waiter Joe was exceptional! He was very helpful and passionate and the food and was excited that it was our first time there. We will be going back very soon and can see us being regulars! Great experience

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I'm from Egypt, I moved here in 2016, so I can tell if some restaurant's food is authentic or not. Chef Mohamed's food wasn't just authentic, but it was absolutely appetizing and delicious, and much better than a lot of actual Egyptian restaurants in Egypt. It just blew me away! I tried the Egyptian Chicken dish; the grilled chicken breasts were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The rice, the Egyptian Lasagna, everything just tasted like home. The entire food was delicious, the prices were perfect, and the portions were huge! So if you're reading this and wondering if you should go or not, please do yourself a favor and try this place, once you go the first time, you know you'll visit again. Thank you for the very friendly and positive environment that you created, for the home feel, and overall for the great experience! We had a blast!

My friends have told us for years to go, it will not disappoint. The portions were so big that I didn't cook for 2 nights! The longhots are so hot but so good. The chicken Parm was the size of the plate! The shrimp and scallop scampi was so good. We'll be going back soon.

This place was recommended by friends and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly! The portions are large, I had lunch for a couple days and the food was just as amazing as leftovers as it was when it first came out. I highly recommend Golden Pyramid if you're looking for something new, enjoyable, and absolutely delicious! Next time I'll make sure to save room for dessert!

Wow. If you have not been: GO!! Food is amazing, especially the Egyptian dishes. Friendly service, dark lighting but not scary, smiles everywhere. The portions are HUGE. No one leaves hungry unless you quit before you have cleaned your plate... which few can. CANNOT say enough good things, everything we have eaten there, numerous times, has been excellent.

This is ONE order! It tastes so good and the chicken is so tender. Don’t complain about the long wait, it is WELL worth it!

The food here is always excellent quality, fresh, and hot. We have a pretty diverse food palette and this is our favorite Egyptian cuisine. As you can see the portions are very generous. There is also a very pleasant and welcome atmosphere to dine in.

Tip: The restaurant is closed until February. I found this out the hard way unfortunately. I traveled 45 minutes just to give this restaurant a try. The place was pitch black on a Saturday night at 6pm. I called the restaurant and got their voicemail. The owner is on vacation until February. Will update my review once I get a chance to drive back to May's Landing.

One of our go to restaurants. The food is cooked to order and the portions are large which means a great second meal or two. In addition to Egyptian/Middle Eastern cuisine, the Italian dishes are outstanding. The owners of Golden Pyramid have the gift of hospitality and treat customers as family. You will be delighted dining there!

Always a great experience the food is always great and the owner Muhammad and his wife are just down right good people. The portions are big so we always have leftovers for lunch the next day. You have to try the crab stuffed mushrooms, they are out of this world.

Fantastic selections and service with very large portions. For starters I had Turkish coffee and lobster bisque soup. My entree was lobster stuffed salmon with a vegetable medley and brown rice. Simply delicious! 😛

This is our go-to restaurant on our way to and from the Jersey shore! This is a family run operation, with Cindy waiting tables and husband Mohammad the chef. They both make us feel like family with their genuine warmth. But the reason we go is for the fabulous food! We have been many times, and the dishes are consistently unique, savory, and delicious. Also somewhat addictive. After a week or so, I start yearning for the Egyptian Flounder. And the curries are amazing. So many great choices. And we always take home leftovers and have them for lunch the next day! I never write restaurant reviews, but had to weigh in on the Golden Pyramid!

Delicious fresh food, you definitely wont leave hungry! Cindy was friendly and bright and Mohammed is an amazing chef. Nothing but pride and love in the meal and service of their little restaurant! This was our 1st visit and certainly not our last. We recommend this place if you are tired of blah commercial chain restaurants and enjoy both new and familiar flavors.

Worth going out of your way for! The Golden Pyramid offers variety, huge portions, and exceptionally good food. The dining area is not note worthy aside from the carpet. The food, though, was super! The business is run by a couple and service is casual and friendly. The night me shipmate and I were there another patron, friends with the owners, helped us with water and boxes for our food. There's a real community field here. I look forward to going back next time I'm in the area. I know my friend will be trying everything on the menu while I'm away. I'm so jealous. In a word, GO!
