Incredible food, great service, I highly recommend the crawfish cornbread!

Jasmine our server was outstanding. Food was really exceptional!

We visited Grapevine for dinner on a Wednesday evening around 5:00 pm. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't. However, he was able to seat us right away. Our server, Heidi, was extremely attentive and took great care of us throughout our meal. To start, we tried the watermelon cucumber martini and lemon berry martini - both were delicious and the perfect refreshments for a summer evening. We also had the sliced portobello mushroom caps with a garlic aioli dipping sauce that was out of this world delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the ribeye steak which was cooked to a juicy medium with a nicely charred exterior. The flavor of the beef really came through without any overpowering sauces or seasonings. My date had the pork steak, which was also delicious. The rough mashed potatoes were a favorite side of mine. The green beans were a touch overcooked for my taste but still very flavorful. We shared a slice of the lemon icebox pie for dessert, which was light and creamy. The atmosphere at Grapevine was upscale and romantic - I noticed most other diners dressed nicely as well. They also have a beautiful outdoor courtyard in back if dining al fresco is something you would like for a nice fall evening. Recommended.

Amazing food and wife loved their martini's

Fantastic meal and service! Recommendation of half and half with any choices, Parmesan Chicken or really anything on the menu! Everything is awesome and the atmosphere is great also!

The food here was awesome!! My husband and I had a great waitresses and the manger was so very sweet. I would recommend the grapevine to anyone.

Service was terrific, portions were large, we were gifted a free dessert by our lovely waitress Leighanne and despite previous review there was no tip added to the bill but left to our discretion. We had a good night😊

The food was delicious. The stuffed mushrooms were huge. The portions were enough to fill you up. Loved the music.

Never got to eat. Hostess advised that there was a wait, and we asked if we could sit at the half empty bar. She had to find the manager who let us know (3) that the wait was long. Never got an answer on if we could sit at the bar. Had another lady waiting with elderly father (80+) who they would not allow to sit at a very nearby empty table to rest. That alone showed what type of establishment this was, so we decided to find another eatery.

This place is everything the reviews said it would be. Great food and fun environment! Only downside is that its hours are limited and it’s not open 7 days a week!

Started with a perfect Old Fashioned cocktail. Then turtle soup for the appetizer was spot on & we were offered sherry without having to ask; followed by dinners if crabmeat stuffed eggplant & crabmeat stuffed grilled redfish. The eggplant entre had a generous portion and husband was was very satisfied with his portion of the redfish. We were too stuffed for dessert The biggest compliment we give is to go back & we definitely will soon. It was worth the bit of extra drive to Donaldsonville, LA.

Extremely great food, loved the old building look with the paintings from (I assume) a local artist. However, the service was severely lacking (we went on a Tuesday and it wasn't very busy, so no excuse there), and what really stung was that because I was in a party of 6, they automatically added a 20% tip to the bill (and the bill also asked if I wanted to add more!), so there was no incentive for the waiter do service us. Everyone in my group also ordered the rib eye (which tasted amazing), but it also meant we need up paying over a $50 tip to a waiter who only came by once to fill our drinks (they were all empty pretty much the entire hour and a half we were there) and 30 minutes of our 1.5 hour visit was trying to get the waiter to give us the bill and receipt so we could leave. Suggestion to the restaurant: don't assume a 20% tip, if you feel like you must, then assume a 15% tip max and then ask if they want to add more.

On yesterday, Sunday, 5/19/24, my family and I drove from Gonzales and Baton Rouge to Donaldsonville. We arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes prior to opening, just as the waitress advised us to do in a prior conversation during the week beforehand. We were first in line to celebrate my mother’s birthday, when the waitress opened the doors, she immediately told us that she could not accommodate us at all. We asked if we could be seated separately, we did not have to be seated together. Still, she said no and turned us away. There were more people standing behind our party, and they were all seated and serviced. I cannot believe how prejudice people still are in 2024. It’s awful and evil.

The restaurant service and food is always excellent. We love going.

I usually have never had a bad meal. I did order a steak last visit. I didn’t really enjoy it for the price paid. It was a very busy day so I can give them a pass on that visit. I will return.

Great food and great service loved everything

Food was amazing. Service was a little slow, not sure if it was kitchen or server. We did see others who came in after get food before us. We were a table of 5. One order was wrong. We kept it cause of wait time. Charged for the higher dish but manager adjusted it. We were seated near a table of about 12 who were loud. Asked to move but we were only moved 2 tables. Even though the experience wasn't 5 star I would go back for the food. The drinks looked amazing. Too bad we had a 2 hr drive home and didn't want to drink.

You may wait a minute for food but wow. Our menu favorites are pecan shrimp, pork ribeye and the shrimp/ redfish pick 2 meals. Wow.

Breiana and LeighAnne are the BEST servers. My family surprised me with a dinner here and EVERYTHING we had from appetizers to dessert was Soooooooooo GOOD!!! We will be back and we are requesting to be at Leigh Anne's table. Oh and the musician came to talk to us. His music was great 👍🏿!!!

I little high in price for lunch but we'll worth it

My husband and I never go out for Valentine’s Day. He got off early and said get dressed let’s go some place. We have heard many great things about this place. We arrived and it was reservations only so we got turned away we spoke to the hostess she was so kind. Half way to our vehicle the hostess comes running out saying she spoke to a manger someone had a cancellation and could fit us in. We were greeted with roses instantly. We loved the food no complaints it didn’t feel like a chain restaurant very authentic. The art is nice to look at and the live music is such a delight. This has turned into one of my family’s favorite spots.

The young man serving water and clearing the table did an excellent job. Our waitress seemed a little distracted perhaps not enough servers. My order was a little bit wrong. But it was delicious anyway. One item that may keep me from coming back was the chair... It was very uncomfortable.

This has been my favorite for years ! I love Grapevine ! The food is awesome and atmosphere always great ! The general Manager however is mean and heartless. I saw her treat a customer like trash . This is really sad . Her favorite statement is " Don't come back ! " I think that is really sad .

Never will I ever eat here again. Our first experience was awesome but tonight was horrible. The waitress we had did not do her job I had to ask can we order appetizers,drinks then our food. While waiting on our food she continued to walk by us and cater to the other “big parties” she had asking them is everything ok you need anything but never not once asked us. I got up went to the bar to order my own drink by this time. So the guy that brought my drink states he was asked to take over our table. I explained to him how we were being treated he send the manager who comes to the table saying she the general manager Trista. I goes to tell her what happen and she says well she had 2 big parties and I’m thinking so that mean ignore us because it’s just 4 of us that doesn’t make any sense. If that’s the so called reason why seat us in that area if she had 2 big parties. The “general manger” came with an attitude because by them she had already been told we were pissed by the one who ignored us the whole time. She says I watched everything I’m no you didn’t because you wasn’t out here general manager . I said I’m glad she asked someone else to take over and Ms manger said so am I. Not knowing we was told what was being said. Long story short how convenient she send a black guy to take over the 4 black people that she ignored the whole night because she had a big party she was tending to. Telling him go see if you know them ,WHAT?? I almost lost my kool but I had to rethink and collect myself. They don’t EVER have to worry about me and my family again because it’s very obvious Trista doesn’t like our kind.

Born and raised in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, and relocated to Atlanta Georgia. Here for the holidays and planned to reunite with high school friends and meet at the Grapevine in Donaldsonville on the avenue. Attempted to make reservations with Trista who took my call for the initial call and shared with me that she could hold a 530pm reservation. When I called back she explained that the reservation was no longer available. To clarify I reminded her that I had just spoken to her. She immediately became aggressive and condescending. At this time I shared with her that her tone was a bit aggressive and that I wanted to book the 5 pm appointment. She bid me a great day and hung the phone up. I immediately called back and let her know what she had done. No apology was rendered and when I requested to secure the 5 pm appointment she stated that she was denying me service. This proves that Donaldsonville has not evolved and racism still exists. Trista your behavior is totally unacceptable and my God.does not sleep. Be careful of how you treat others because Karma is a real thing. I don't wish you any harm but I pray a lesson is learned in a major way. Black and Brown people, please don't spend your dollars with the Grapevine, Trista don't like our kind.

I love this place food and service is awesome.

Grapevine is normally a great place to eat, but the Kraft Mac n Cheese my kids ate tonight was 100% better than the shoe leather of a ribeye they served me today, and it was ready 1 hour and 45 minutes quicker.

The food and service was excellent! Tye was amazing! Evidently the Mayor was there with an entourage and they were rude, obnoxious and very very loud as they were standing up against our table as we were trying to eat!

We had a dinner party of 8 women and 2 babies, honoring and celebrating my mother's 85th birthday with her. Service was excellent, awesome attention to detail. We tried an array of appetizers and different entrees, it didn't take very long to get our food, and all were enjoyed other than a few personal taste preferences.

Had a big old gumbo here. It was delicious! Service was phenomenal and you can even buy the art work off the walls...so I did.

Met a friend for dinner and Donaldsonville happens to be the half-way point, so we figured we’d give The Grapevine a try. Happy we did! It’s a sweet little spot that feels like the heartbeat of an otherwise sleepy, but charming, little downtown. They were pretty busy on a Friday night, but we got a table right near the live music, which was pleasant and not too loud. Food was decent, if a little pricey for what you’re getting. Nothing to really rave about, but I was happy with the size of the pecan encrusted shrimp and stuffed mushroom appetizers. Drinks were surprisingly very good…they have an extensive cocktail and martini menu. Heidi was our server and she took good care of us. We would definitely go back next time we’re both in the area.

So disappointed in the service tonight. Not only did our waiter forget to put our order in, but a hour after waiting for our food, it gets to our table COLD! The manger didn’t even come speak to us

My family and I road today 10/15/2023 to have lunch, about a 2 hour drive. The website does not say you need a reservation for Lunch. Well we arrived at 11:40. The hostess informed we should have called and make reservations Didn’t try to her the manager an help us, just rude as hell. Never make that trip or nothing again. Don’t waste your time !!!!!!

The Grapevine was well worth the drive. My friends and I shared several appetizers and they were all great. The Dried green tomatoes were delicious. The Spicy Pecan Shrimp were our favorite appetizer of the ones we tried. The gumbo was a bit thicker than what I’m used to but it had a great flavor. The cheesecake topped with Pecan Praline Sauce was so delicious 😋 and the best dessert I’ve had in a long time. Definitely worth the drive/trip to Grapevine; we will be back to visit soon and try more dishes!

The blacken catfizh fish was really good. Half and half dish, cooked perfect, crawfish ettoufee was more flour base, not real rich but tasty. Sides were on point. Everything recommended is what i need to go back for.

Sucks We are here on turnaround graveyard shift we wake up at 2 and go to work at 5. Yall close at 2 and open up at 5 there ain't any other good places in this town to eat at. You should stay open longer

The pecan redfish was spectacular as well as the firecracker shrimp.

Ordered the Half and Half and split it w/ a co worker. It came with fried catfish, crawfish etouffee, potato salad and green beans. Would recommend if in the area.

Thus is easily one of the top if not THE top restaurants in Louisiana. Think Mike Andersons or similar. Food, Ambiance, and service is exceptional.Try the pork tenderloin with bourbon pepper jelly for something unique.

Everything was great, came with a group of elderly residents from my job and they did a wonderful job,..it was my first time so I didn't know what to expect,...but they met all my expectations and more,...I just had the crab cakes but they were delicious,...but my favorite part is the music selection that play while dining, I had to tell the waitress to make sure that doesn't change.

Grapevine was amazing! The atmosphere was lively and laid back. The live music was very enjoyable. The crab cakes, redfish meal, and crab stuffed portabella mushrooms were phenomenal. We tried the white chocolate bread pudding. You don’t want to miss out on that! Cute area, will be back!!

Not a fan of the dishes.. tried appetizer and 2 meals. Mediocre. Service was great and great vibe..1.5 hours later it’s ok.

I was lucky enough to visit Grapevine to celebrate my birthday. I ordered the Ribeye and it was delicious. They served the white chocolate bread pudding complimentary since it was my birthday, but we also ordered lemon pie. I highly recommend both. The staff is fantastic, atmosphere terrific and meal was delicious.

We went there for my birthday and the food was soo good and the dessert was hot and fresh with a lit candle and birthday sprinkles. And the waiter went out of his way to make my birthday special! It was a fun atmosphere and we really had a great time that night!

Definitely a bit pricey, but it is mostly a upper end date night destination. We went for dinner and the staff are top notch. There was a minor error on the reservation, but they were accommodating. Need to make reservations well in advance or you may not get a timely seat. It gets busy!

Everything looked as good as it tasted! I'd HIGHLY recommend this Cafe' to anyone, locals and tourists alike!!!! You just HAVE to eat here!!! I ordered the crawfish cornbread and it was to die for. Plus the serving is so big I had it for lunch the next day and it was still just as good! The staff was a wonderful and very friendly group of people!!

Had a wonderful dining experience complete with apps, seafood entrees, dessert, & drinks. The martini menu is especially impressive..too bad we couldn't try them all 😆 Service was also prompt & polite. There was live music while we were there. Happy we were seated far enough away to enjoy it in the background & still be able to converse at the table.

Service was excellent. Food was great also. Gumbo was exceptional. Eggplant Parmesan was also. Adequate parking. Able to make reservations within the hour. Handicap accessible.

The crabmeat stuffed redfish and eggplant were absolute highlights of the meal. The juicy and succulent crabmeat added a burst of flavor to each bite, and the cream sauce elevated the dish to make me want to return soon. The perfectly cooked mashed potatoes were the perfect complement to these dishes, providing a creamy and smooth contrast. The green beans were cooked well, with a good blend of seasonings, but the portion size left something to be desired. Makes me wonder if inflation has impacted the green bean farmers. Overall, a delightful and satisfying meal for our anniversary. Oh, and the white chocolate bread pudding was award winning in my book. The texture was light and fluffy compared to many other restaurants who often serve a compact and dense pudding. A touch of rum would have put this dessert dish over the top. Call for a reservation. It does not appear that reservations can be made through OpenTable app.

If you come to the State of Louisiana you need to make yourself a favor and make a stop here cause OMG, the food is increíble, pls order the fire cracker shrimp and the white fudge cake/bread (they have and award for that) also the drinks are great.

Outstanding service and food! Had Crab Stuffed Eggplant and the Crab Cake dinner. Both were exceptional. We’ve been traveling for 3 weeks and this is the best restaurant so far.

The absolute best crab cakes, gumbo, and atmosphere that I’ve ever experienced….and I’m born, raised, and live in Louisiana. Call and make a reservation though, this place is so good and everyone around there knows it so it tends to be busy.

What a completely phenomenal experience from appetizer to dessert. I lost count on how many times we said how incredible everything was.

A definite gem in the town of Donaldsonville. The atmosphere is upbeat with the live music but not overbearing. Wait staff was wonderful. The crab cakes as an appetizer was one of the freshest tasting crab cakes I've ever eaten in my life. The crab meat au gratin is absolutely worth the extra cost to add with the crab cakes. The food is not over seasoned so you can actually taste the different flavors of the authentic Cajun cooking. Although some may seem the the food takes a little while longer to come out, the quantity and quality of the food is well worth the wait.

Food was pretty good. The server was not on top of his game at all. Didn't bring our food out at same time. Just 2 of us. Refills not kept up. However we didn't leave hungry. We wouldn't return.

Comfort food at its Best! Service was weird! The waitress would hand the food to my sister and I across the table ( 4 Top) and place the food for our husbands. She was abrupt with every conversation.

Great food. Offers a blend of Cajun, Creole, and African food. The walls have original local art for sale. Reservations are recommended. I hear they are also known for their martinis (I don't drink alcohol.) The café, which opened in 2001, is in a 1920s era building. The waiting staff were dressed in black and looked sharp and were very polite. Hours: Monday-closed; Tuesday -Thursday lunch 11 AM - 2 PM, Dinner 5 PM - 8:30 PM; Friday lunch 11 AM - 2 PM, Dinner 5 PM - 9:00 PM; Saturday Dinner 5 PM - 9:00 PM; Sunday lunch 11 AM - 2 PM

Had a great time and enjoyed a special drink. Steak was wonderful and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her eggplant dish. Definitely recommend a visit.

Food was excellent and wait staff was great. Don't go in for lunch during the week if you're in a hurry. They are busy for lunch, but it was worth the wait !
