BBQ is the mushy style. It really depends on what you're used to. I like BBQ like chopped right off the pig. Great service and atmosphere. Good food at a great price. Hamburgers are really good.

We stopped by at the recommendation of someone local to OBX, as we were traveling home from vacation. Let me echo the rave reviews! There’s clearly something special about this place and the employees there. We found ourselves wishing we lived nearby so we could visit more often. Excellent BBQ! You can’t beat the price!

Found this gem on the way home from the Outer Banks. When we didn’t have cash (and the atm was down) to pay for food and we were about to find a different lunch spot, they insisted we order and eat and figure out the payment later. I’m glad we got to stay and eat because their food was delicious and their staff was incredibly kind! Definitely worth the stop, and will become a roadtrip lunch stop to and from the Outer Banks! Thank you again for your kindness!

One of the best BBQ places around!! If you are traveling through Martin County on the way to the Outer Banks or to Raleigh, it is a must stop!

Food is great and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. My grandkids and I think they have the BEST cheesburgers and BBQ sandwiches around.

Had lunch at Hardison's Carolina BBQ. Staff was courteous and pleasant. Had the fried chicken combo. Fried chicken was cooked too far ahead. Not hot and hush puppies very small. Overall good experience.

Best ribs ever, bbq is delicious and all sides as well. People are friendly and service is great. Oh and the barbecued chicken is great. Need to go try them.

I'm sorry but the slaw was the consistency of baby food,the chicken was beyond dry,the pork was dry and tasty lest,I will never go back.

Best BBQ around and other great food items. If you walk away hungry it's your fault. Staff was super nice.

This place is amazing. They have different specials everyday and they cook it made to order so everything is hot !!! Oh and can't forget the pricing ... it's so cheap !!! It's open Tuesday thru Friday 11 to 6pm

Very good barbecue. Great people. Kids loved it. Son had a Double Cheeseburger and said, "It's like 'Five Guys' only better." We will try to make this a regular stop to/from Outer Banks. Great value. Cash only.

Prices are good, food was great, service was exceptional! Very few restaurants can get it all right in today’s environment but the owner of this restaurant should be proud of a job well done by all!

Loved the pulled pork plate, especially the vinegar-based style BBQ. Friendly, quick service. If you're heading to or from the beach on 64, skip the fast food joints and eat at Hardison's. Your belly and wallet will thank you!

Ordered: Pulled pork sandwhich carolina style with beans and hushpuppies. Cozy joint for good BBQ. Everything was good here and the staff were very friendly. Always worth a stop.

You stop for the BBQ, not the ambiance. Meat was very good, but I am more of a Kansas City BBQ. Not used to the eastern Carolina vinegar style.

Great place to stop for BBQ when passing through. Super friendly staff, good food, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I'd recommend this place and we'll probably stop by again one day. No brisket, just pork or a burger or a hot dog.

Best BBQ & slaw ever. Their sausages are wonderful. Every time I go past, I will back track to bring their products home. Just wonderful!!!

This is truly a special place. Best cheeseburger I have ate in a long time at restaurant. Every employee treats you good and you order, sit down, they bring your order and then they are always walking around checking to see if you need something.

I was traveling thru on this particular day and decided I need a quick meal later that could also serve as other meals later, so I chose barbecue and delicious coke slaw for later. It's never had a complaint from my family or guests!! Good food, Good owners, grateful they are there for us!!!

Great East Carolina style BBQ, and incredibly nice people.

Really nice staff and a really good meal. We showed up 10 minutes before closing and offered to get ours to go, but they said to sit down and never made us feel rushed. We'll definitely eat here whenever we're in Plymouth fishing.

Everyone there was so nice their food was amazing their prices were extremely affordable and I would go there for every meal of every day if I could. And the atmosphere was very welcoming and warm the bathroom was clean the tables and chairs were comfortable and it was very much and overall amazing experience. And I really liked how they have different options on different days so you don't get burnt out I'm having the same thing every time.

Good BBQ needed more sauce for my taste I asked for extra and the lady made it seem as if I couldn't get any. Overall it's a good place in my opinion.

Words can't do this place justice. I stay about 3 hours away, but I stay in Plymouth for work fairly often so I almost get some Hardison's for dinner. $12 gets you a very good meal, the folks there are always nice, and the food is just wonderful. I'd strongly recommend grabbing a bite here if you're in the area. Everything on the menu is good, but I love the Hardison's special or the burger. Thanks Hardison's for home cooking away from home!

Uggggh. Worst Carolina or any other BBQ I've ever had in my 70+ years of eating beans were canned, potato salad was bitter, corn bread would chip your teeth. There are large portions, but who cared.

Food was good. I had a hot dog and fries. Very good. My friend had bbq and said it was very good

The barbecue was very delicious and they gave me a huge amount of french fries and they were very good as well I just felt like the barbecue could have had a little bit more Barbecue on it it was a very delicious BBQ

The barbecue was absolutely delicious I got enough french fries for three people I just wish there was a little more Barbecue on the sandwich but it was outstanding delicious food really really enjoyed it thinking about going today I just realized it's not open today won't be open till tomorrow so I'll have to wait till tomorrow

This was a great place to stop on the way back from OBX. Whole family got good plates here for a better price than most fast food options these days. Got the bbq plate and all was great! BBQ was good and moist even before adding sauce. Everything was clean, had super friendly staff and overall a nice hometown feel. Wish we could pick the whole place up, staff and all, and take it back home with us.

Stopped in on the way to Nags Head and we were delighted. Friendly staff and awesome food. I will know next time that a double cheeseburger is not needed!!! There is also a covered area with several picnic tables outside. This will surely be a regular stop for us from now on.

I gotta tell you. We had the most amazing experience. On the way back from OBX to Raleigh we stopped for a lunch at Hardison’s bbq restaurant. We always try to go somewhere local. We made an order for the food. Only after we realized it is cash or check only. They did have an ATM machine inside. My husband had a card with us but couldn’t remember the code. We called the bank. Bank told us if we want to change the passcode they will send it in a mail. Waitress already brought food. I had to explain the situation. Waitress with the smile said “it happens. Don’t worry about it. No we are old school. Just send us a check”. She saw Eugene was about have a panic attack. Owner comes out & says “I don’t carry check or cash around either. Just send us a check in a mail”. I told her that we are so sorry. I explained the situation. She told me “I trust you. Just send money in a mail”.... Btw pulled pork was really good. They have their own sauce. Potato salad, green beans, slaw, banana pudding everything was homemade. Everyone said hello & welcomed us. I think I found place to retire. One day I come back to live in that small town. Service is amazing! Please stop by if you would like to experience true Southern hospitality.

Great BBQ place with local hospitality. Place was clean, food was a welcome return from 10 days of seafood on the coast. Chicken and pastry puts up a great challenge to my grandmas chicken and dumplin’s. String beans best I’ve ever had and the BBQ served plain with vinegar based sauce at the table- great stop!

This is Eastern North Carolina Barbecue which is vinegar based. The potato salad and banana pudding were good. You can not beat the price. They have a huge covered area with picnic tables. They even have 18 wheeler truck parking. The waitresses couldn’t be any sweeter. Family owned and operated!

Y’all! Don’t pass by here without going in!! Seriously the best bbq in the area! Sweet, kind and courteous staff. The Cole slaw, potato salad, hush puppies, string beans, cornbread, applesauce were da bomb!! And don’t even get me started on the BBQ!!! Steve says even the cups that the tea was served in were delicious. 😂🤦‍♀️ Great place to eat!!! Oh and even though they were busy we were in and out the door in 20 minutes!!! Thank you! We’ll be back!!

All the wonderful reviews convinced me to stop here for lunch on the way to the Outer Banks. And I'm so glad I did!! It really is some good food, at great prices with good old Southern hospitality.

Truly Carolina style BBQ. The price is right for more ribs than we can eat. Their double cheeze burger is really amazingly delicious. Home made potato salad and desert. And you won't believe how right the price is.
