Maybe I’m bias but I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and it’s one of my families ALL TIME FAVORITES! if it were to ever close I would cry big time

Had a 30+ minute wait for food. When it came out it was pretty bland not a hint of seasoning or flavor.

Food is always good, margaritas are ridiculously over priced. $34 for 2 jumbo margaritas. Bartenders are awesome!

Consistently good Baja-style Mexican food. Not spectacular given the wide range of options Omaha has, but a solid one we go back to regularly.

Great food & Service here at Hector’s had the pleasure to have Javier as my server he was friendly and made sure my dining experience was great if you eat here make sure ask for him.

Love the way they season chicken, shrimp, etc. Crispy flour tortillas are the best.

Hector’s was this week’s “try-a-new-place” place. I can’t go to a New Mexican food place without having rellenos, my favorite Mexican dish. These were great! Tender peppers, tasty coating. Perfectly cooked. I could’ve eaten more, but it would have just been for the flavor as I was full. Chips and salsa, great. Beans and rice, great. Waiter, great. Prep time, pretty fast. We had no trouble hearing each other during conversation. Everyone at my table said their food was great.

Salsa, chips and ranch dressing are good. We ordered Carne Asada tacos and chicken enchiladas and didn’t really care for them.

The service was exceptionally good and the food was very delicious. First time to the restaurant as we just moved into the area. We will be back to enjoy this restaurant and so should you.

I have no idea how this place has such good reviews on google. I feel like they’re completely false and we were pranked into eating here. I will say our server was the only good part of our experience, she was fantastic (and should get a job at a better restaurant where she would be tipped more). The atmosphere is lacking and lighting is maybe low on purpose…the food is absolutely terrible. Someone’s Mexican grandmother would be ashamed to call this Mexican food. We were in the area, in a hurry, and stopped here because most Americanized Mexican restaurants are ok. Nope, don’t stop here…cheese queso wasn’t good, beans were greige, rice tasted like they used city water to make it, enchilada sauce was awful, beef in the burrito tasted just like Taco Bell. Then I noticed there was no ethnic diversity eating here and realized that’s maybe who they’re catering to. The 1 star is for the salsa bar (the only things with flavor) and our server, or else it deserved zero stars.

Went there for Taco Tuesday and was very happy with the food and service. Tacos were $3 each and you can get chicken or beef. Would definitely recommend to others! 😋

Very good! My carne asada burrito was kinda cold, but still good. Had and amazing server that was a young lady. She made sure to check on us and give us water refills without being prompt to. Will give it 5 stars once I visit again and the food is hot.

Came here for the first time ever, on a Monday night! No wait, got seated immediately! Our server came right away with menus and brought water! The food was fantastic! Definitely would recommend and will be returning for sure!

Our party was in your restaurant on Saturday, March 2. We came in and were greeted by your host telling us that we had 14 minutes and he turned a clock around and showed the time at 9:01. I said I thought you closed at 10. He said we’re closing early tonight because we are not busy. He sat us down with menus and a waiter took our drink order, 2 margaritas. If there was alcohol in them, I’d be surprised. He took our order and brought it immediately, then came and slammed the bill down on the table and barely gave us time to put our card on the tray. The host came by again and pointed at us and said we had 15 minutes to finish. If they were closing early and didn’t want to help us, perhaps they should have just told us they weren’t seating anymore people. With service and attitudes like that it’s no wonder they weren’t busy and we’re closing early. I’m sure Hector wouldn’t be happy about this. We’ve been going there for years. Doubt if we’ll be back.

Discovered, perhaps too late, that Baja-Style means lack of flavor. I was, along with my wife, quite disappointed with the flavors, from the complimentary salsa to our entrees. They looked the part, but just tasted bland. We politely ate them and got outside and said to one another, " what did you think?" Flavorless was our consensus. I have been in the business for a long time and hate to disparage anyone's business or interpretation of cuisine. Nonetheless, there are better options available.

We really like going there for Taco Tuesday, better prices but extra cheese costs more than a Taco. Mango margaritas are phenomenal!

It's such a great place to eat. Clean, fast service, and they have a salsa bar. Menu is pretty large, so after 20 minutes, we finally decided, and our food was out within 7 minutes of ordering.

I wish i could have negative stars. I went to this restaurant for his location and what the place looks like. I'm Mexican and I was looking for a place to eat. I was greeted by the hostess who literally gave me a not good welcome, I should return at that point, but I gave my best. Then the server took a long time, and when finally came, I had my order ready. I was explicit how I wanted the food and asked for a drink. Food arrived, and it was not even close to what I ordered. It was not a special order. It was a simple order without a main ingredient, and it was exactly what they put the most. I told him that, and he offered me his apologies and offered me to replace it, and I refused to do it, ask for the check, and he ignored me for 30 minutes. I got up and went to the hostess, and I finally blew i told what happened, and he didn't get the things better. He literally told me that I wasn't dressed properly and it was a predominantly white people restaurant. He offeredme to gave me my money back somethingthat i refused, because i didnt do it for that reason i didnt wven accept a gift certificate BECAUSEI WILL NEVER GO BACK. Generally Nebraska STINKS in every way.

Pretty much we ordered Nachos for ourselves and the kids. Was a decent amount of food for the price. The server was absolutely amazing! They were short staffed which is normal in this day and age, but that young lady was engaging and very friendly! Would definitely go again!

Love the taco Tuesday deal - tacos are $2! Unfortunately the food overall good use some work in flavor. Not worth it for the original prices.

The Chili Rellenos were "no bueno." My relleno was a few strips of canned chilis and minimal cheese inside VERY thin crepe that tasted like wet flannel. Disappointing.

The entree was very good but the salsa was overwhelming garlicky and I didn't care for the chips. They were thick and tasteless. The server wasn't bad, but she talked really fast and abruptly then left really fast. It's a nice bar-restaurant.

Went for lunch for Taco Tuesday, the tacos were much bigger than expected, and they bring out chips AND they have a salsa bar. PLUS, they brought us out even other kind of salsas they had in the back. They know the way to my heart.

Taco Tuesday Yo!!! Margaritas are great.

Two of us went to Hector's 3/14/23. Easy to get to and great parking. We were greeted and escorted to our seat promptly. We both ordered the Combination plate w/ 1-Beef Burrito (ground beef), 1-Verde (Green) Chicken Enchilada (but recv Shredded Beef) a mistake but I didn't complain and ate it as I don't like sending food back, 1-Beef Taco (ground beef), Rice & Refried Beans. All the food tasted good, although bland. The ground beef is very finely ground which I personally don't prefer but it was ok. The Salsa that was served w/ the Chips was tasty but very mild, although they do have a nice serve yourself Salsa Bar w/ different levels of heat. Im not one that likes Real Hot spicy food, but I do like a little heat.The Rice and Refried beans were very good. We were in Omaha visiting family and unfortunately we are comparing this Mexican food to El Paso, TX & Southern AZ which we grew up eating most of our lives. This is what we call Mid-Western Mexican food, not that there is anything wrong w/ it but just a different style which is usually bland and mild. We use a lot of Jalapeño's and Hatch Green Chiles in our food. We have several restaurants similar to this in Phoenix & Tucson (Manuel's, Valle Luna, Macayo's & Taco Bell lol) as a lot of Snow Bird's from the Mid-West visit in the winter. Also the music playing was Classic Rock and I asked why are they not playing Mariachi or Smooth Latin music as that is part of the whole experience and the man just shrugged his shoulder's, as to say I don't know. They had the decorations. The service and hospitality were great. I'll go back and try something different like the Fajita's or Carne Asada.

Told me and my party of 7 they were closing in 30 min as soon as we sat down. Only cane around for 1 round of drinks and my quesadilla entree was smaller and more expensive than the appetizer quesadilla.

Wow! Finally found a Mexican place with exceptional food

Disappointed with the seafood enchiladas made with imitation 'crab'. Their website boasts how they're about those fresh ingredients and a lot of focus on fish and etc. So I tried the seafood enchiladas that state crabmeat, shrimp and scallops. And was bummed to get 'krab', aside from that everything just lacked much flavor. Staff was friendly and prices are reasonable but I'll likely just go elsewhere.

What can I say about a great Mexican restaurant with food that meets halfway between full on Tex Mex and real Mexican food. The food is always flavorful and I never leave anything on my plate. It is both extremely fast service and affordable. The servers are all attentive and friendly making you feel welcome which seems lacking in many modern restaurants.

My dentist recommended Hector's to us. Loved it. Very tasty, staff was on task, and we will eat here again.

Came here around 7:40pm on Tuesday to try their $2 tacos. I normally sit at the bar, but it was full so the hostess sat me at a regular table. I waited 15 min and no one had come over to take my order, or acknowledge me so I went back to sit at the bar. Another 5 min before I was greeted. I ordered 2 chicken on fried flour with jalapenos and sour cream. The food came out really fast and wasn't really warm. The tacos tasted as good as Good Lifes and Addys, but were way over priced. I spent $8 on 2 tacos, when normally the other places don't charge that much to add sour cream and jalapenos. I was a little upset at how long I waited to eat, as I had just finished a 17 hr shift was hungry and tired. It took forever to get the bartenders attention to cash out, even tho there were only 3 of us at the bar. I like supporting local businesses, so I'll give them another try so I can try other dishes. Maybe it was just a one time deal. 😊

Extremely disappointed. My family and I try to patronize local restaurants and were craving Mexican. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but we were still seated quickly. That's where the wheels fell off. When the waiter came over he didn't introduce himself and was busy looking around instead of at us (had to look at the bill to discover his name was Javier). He took our drink order and then took our food order. Once again he was distracted and seemed annoyed when we asked questions about the food. The food came quickly which was good. Cue further disappointment. The burrito and enchiladas tasted completely blah. The $11 margarita was mostly bottled mix (the bartender in the family ordered it). The best parts of the meal were the chips and salsa and the Dos Equis Amber but it's hard to screw up store bought chips, salsa and beer. Honestly, I'd rather have Taco Bell or LA Mesa.

Love this place, Food is delicious!We are regulars, I come in with my toddler he Loves the beans. I mostly always order my favorite which is the chicken tostadas. lemonade is delicious. Pineapple salsa is a must try in the salsa bar. If I could give it more than five stars I would💓 Love it!

Hector's never disappoints! Went for a late lunch and got everything within 20 minutes. Salsa and chips were fresh and the meals were excellent!

Highly disappointed! We were lured into Hector's by a coupon for a free kids meal with adult entrée purchase. Turns out the fine print was for Monday's only and the manager wasn't willing to budge at all on the confusing coupon. The food was cold, bland, and gave me a stomach ache afterwards. I wouldn't recommend to anybody.

I live near Hector's and have eaten there often for years. Hector's is simply the best Mexican Restaurant in Omaha that is not on 24th street. I simply do not get the bad reviews on here. I can only assume that these reviewers come from the old Omaha contingent that prefers greasy Mexican food smothered with a ton of melted cheddar cheese and a big pool of runny, greasy refried beans, aka Fernando's (Yuck!!!). That is not Hector's. Hectors is hot, fresh, lighter fare, with a ton of taste. Hectors has the best chips and salsa, awesome fajitas, and great enchiladas. They make their own tortillas hot and fresh throughout the day (Kids will love watching this if you have to wait for a table). I could make a meal of just the tortillas. They use light fresh cheeses like cotija and chihuahua instead of smothering the food in cheddar and jack. Light fluffy Mexican rice. Always friendly, fast service. All the chips and salsa you can eat for free with your meal...and the salsa is so good! Awesome Margaritas. They have a great patio for summer dining. Finally, Hector's is a great supporter of the local community.

This restaurant is trying to charge $18 for a skinny margarita because they said it’s hard to make because they have to squeeze two lines and they use Well tequila what a joke different bartenders different prices service sucks ,not worth it at all stay away from there they overcharge you.

Hadn’t had a seafood enchilada dinner from Hector’s since they were located at 84th & Frederick. Recently had that at the 157th & Pacific location and it was just as delicious as I remembered it to be!! Plenty of quantity for the price, too. And the margaritas on the rocks were also still delicious! Highly recommend this place!!

Visited later in the evening near closing for margaritas and had a very positive experience! The hospitality from the staff was great- everyone was friendly and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Margaritas were awesome!

Pepsi ick Chilaquiles was horribly salty..took 2 bites ..not asked why it was not eaten, not offered to be replaced or removed from bill. Blended margarita was very weak. Positive was the salsa with chips served when you are seated and the restaurant ambiance. Way too costly for one to eat dinner for $62. This is a do not return for us.

This is one of the go to’s. They never disappoint, always amazing. (Top to bottom of the pic) Enchilada’s, Appetizer Sampler, Chilaquiles. Their homemade tortillas are to die for! Seafood Fajitas are my usual here, just sayin’….hint hint.

Very good meal there last night. I had the filet enchiladas. A but overpriced on that dish but very tasty. Would like to see the complimentary salsa a bit larger portion. Seafood enchiladas were also very tasty.
