Excellent fajitas-guacamole also superb & chips nice & light & non-greasy. Rice & beans also good. Ordered take-out & the portions were enormous-great Mexican food & very timely in preparation-I walked in & food was there! Appreciate this restaurant & their delicious food! Will be back! Thx

My total was $87 and some change and when I look into my bank app they charged $98, so I’m assuming they tipped themselves without even asking. I had a party of 4, slow wait times and food was ok expect the things that take time to make homemade was dry.

Had a last minute party of 12 and they were able to accommodate us. Service was excellent.

The newly redecorated dining room is very comfortable. The food, as usual, was excellent. LA Mesa never fails to please. I recommend the enchiladas de Acupulco.

Wow, it took foooorrrereeeevvvveeeerrr for the food to come out. And when it finally did it was not that impressive. Salsa flight was a good idea but poorly executed. Guacamole was fresh and plentiful where you usually see smaller portions. Drinks were awesome. Tacos pastor and birria were very flavorful and good but that was about it.

Not sure where to start... ordered a srimp quesadilla to go and was kindly asked if I wanted to wait by the bar counter. My first impression was that this was not the typical Mexican restaurant. I was pleased to see they had an impressively large and fancy counter in the bar area. The chairs were elgant spacious and comfortable, and if I am not mistaken, the chairs had original leather cushion and backrest. Food had a wonderful presentation and plating even for a to go order. I was not expecting to get tortilla chips and salsa. They even included a salad, pico and guacamole! I would like to highlight that the shrimps were the juciest and perfectly cooked srimps my wife and I have ever tated a a Mexican place, it beats, by far, any mexican restaurant, even the so called sea food mexican places where everything is overly seasoned and overly cooked. Just to be clear, the shrimps from La Mesa were jucy and perfectly cooked not over cooked. The salsa for the chips was on point with a touch of freshness from the freshly and findly cut cilantro and red onion. Best take out food ever! I regret not asking for the name of the friendly girl at the front counter and gentleman who took my order to give them the credit they diserve for good customer service. And of course, judging by the quality of the food, the chiefs should be proud of the food they are preparing and serving. Again, this is no just an average mexican place. I will definitely make plans to dine-in next time I visit Omaha.

La Mesa has phenomenal food and service. This specific location doesn’t have the same atmosphere as, say, the Bellevue location (more industrial/strip mall look), but everything is still excellent.

Solid 4 stars. Great atmosphere, good service, real Mexican. My birria plate was excellent, wife's carnitas were a tad dry but tasty. Kids menu that is understanding of kids taste-I VERY much appreciated that. Chips need to be fresher, it is a small thing but I overlooked it due to everything else being great. Tasty margaritas, overall a pretty good little restaurant. One of the better sit down Mexican restaurants here in Omaha, certainly better than Fernando's.

$10 for a bowl of queso is a little excessive.

Came out with my wife for date night. The service was great. Food was okay. Rice and beans a little plain. Overall not bad. Fast service.

Great food- interesting options and my wife remarked that it was the best creamy chicken dish she has had at a Mexican restaurant so props! Leaving a 3 star review because the prices were much higher than other Mexican Restaurants we visit. Charged for sour cream we didn’t ask for, queso was expensive. The lunch specials that exist are only for the weekdays. Friendly and a nice restaurant but too expensive.

Ordered the molcajeta is was okay el viarta makes them much better. Wife had the the enchiladas acupulco is was really good! Kids had kids nachos big plate also kids eat for free so it was a win!.... We will be back!!!! Paid 160 with d inks and 20 dollar tip included

Food was good but I think the waitress was a bit spread thin. She forgot our drinks, food took forever and never brought our chips/ salsa

Everytime I go to 113th and maple I get frustrated. They always mess up my order. The lady did not want to fix my order snd pretty rude over the phone!

Love the food and service is always above average, but prices have gone up and it doesn’t seem to be the value it once was.

There was a funky smell when walking into the restaurant. I ordered taco Dorado. It was good, but I picked the red cabbage off. The server didnt check back to ask if everything was ok until I was totally done eating. I wasn't impressed.

The food was delicious. The service was smiling and speedy. The menu combos were too complex to figure out so I ordered otherwise and that worked out fine.

So myself and my wife went to your establishment on Saturday have been there a couple of times before this with no problems but this time was a terrible experience, I'll start with the server spoke little to no English that being said our orders were completely wrong not once but three times. We were so overwhelmed with the incompetence that I got sick of trying to correct the orders we just gave up and was Really taken back that no comp was given and we paid almost 80 dollars. We will never be back.

Came to eat here tonight for dinner. We sat there for over 15 minutes and no one ever came to get our drinks or order. So we cleaned the table up and walked out. Sad. We were looking forward to eating here.

Really Bad food service. Really bad food. They take advantage of your money. Steal money from you. Take about 30 minutes to give you your food. Over all really bad restaurant.

My daughter has just moved to Omaha Nebraska and we stopped in for dinner at La Mesa because the outside looked inviting and well maintained. The service was great, food was great and the margaritas on point. 😊 We will be back.

Basic "Mexican" food with zero spice. It wasn't the worst I've had, just so flavorless. Thankfully they had a semi-spicy verde sauce available to pour over everything.

I used to eat here often but it has gone downhill a bit. Tastes like they changed a few recipes. Salsa was not as good but the pico was fine. Cheese enchiladas were still decent, but chicken came loaded with strange veggies. Beef taco meat was definitely not the same. Fajitas were very fatty with chunks of un rendered gristle in them. Shrimp fajitas were excellent. Beans were dry. Kids chicken fingers looked great but didn't try them. Possible I just need to try something new on the menu. Waitress started out great but got overwhelmed as she appeared to be alone (likely a staffing issue). Regardless, she was very kind. Didn't try the drinks this trip but the margaritas there were always great in the past.

Had a craving for chips and queso so stopped by randomly for a to go order. Even with no advanced notice during prime dinner hours got my order quickly with no issues. Service was super friendly up front and they provided way more chips than I expected! Will definitely go back again to sit down for a full meal!

Not a fan of la mesa, but my last visit there was definitely way better than the previous. A little expensive for the quality, but again everything was much better than the previous visit.

The portion seemed smaller this time. It's almost like they're cutting down on the portions rather than raise the prices. And thinking it's not noticeable.

I placed a to go order for Enchiladas Rancheros and a 3 taco meal with verde sauce last night. The 3 taco meal was only a dollar more than just ordering the tacos alone, so I ordered the meal. I get the food home and realize that I was only given the 3 tacos by themselves with no sides and I was then charged $1 for the verde sauce. All of the salsas we were given had the consistency of water, no texture or sense of being freshly chopped in any way. The chips were completely broken and barely edible. Every time I give this place a chance I'm let down by something. Spent over $30 and didn't feel it was justified. Won't be going back

Had a to go order of two items. They completely messed up the main dish and didn’t even put the second item in the bag. The food was mediocre at best. Will never step foot in this place again.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the Lincoln/Omaha metro area! We go every chance we get, it never disappoints and is always worth the drive from Lincoln. Love the Bahama Mama margarita and the Mango Shrimp ceviche!♥️ Love the staff too, they’ve always been so great!

Never heard of a birria taco that wasn't fried with all the gooie cheese shell was just a soft corn shell was the same as the roast beef taco the street tacos roast beef or whatever selected which should just be a selection of beef, steak, pork....

Last nights service was bad!Took a while to get the food.We didn't even have forks,napkins,etc..Food FINALLY came had to ask for refills on pop because it took so long to get our food we drank that.Also brought us chips and salsa and it was completely frozen so we told the waitress she just looked at us ..Very disappointed in it all.. Usually the food is good but hamburger meat had a burnt taste just a very off night...

LA Mesa has the best food and atmosphere in town. Our waitress today was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Always great food at affordable prices, never a bad experience! Complimentary salsa and chips. Specialty margaritas are well worth it. If you like Tequila, they have one of the areas largest selections.

Friendly staff, great chips and salsa before meal. Generous portions of food, although would have like more protein in fajitas. But all in all awesome meal.

My burrito was basically an enchilada? I can't figure out how some bland beef, topped with an enchilada like sauce, cost so much. No filling, no sour cream. Just below average beef inside a floor tortilla for $15. The steak wasn't any better. I prefer taco bell I'm sorry to say and I'm from Texas. Staff was friendly and bar is nice but that's about it.

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Great food and good service. The queso blanco is so delicious.

TERRIBLE Customer Service!!!!😡 My very pregnant daughter ordered her same favorite meal with several toppings on it. They have never charged her for the toppings in the past. So when she had $3 added, $1 per topping, she brought it to their attention that she’s never been charged before and it does not say anything in the menu about $1 per topping. The rude waitress proceeded to tell her that they have always charged $1 per topping and it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t say that in the menu or not. My daughter then told her that’s fine, she wasn’t going to stand there and argue with a rude waitress, but she was only going to pay two dollars because there was no pineapple added as she requested for her third item. This waitress storms in the back office and gets the manager and brings her out to talk to my daughter, telling her she had to pay the $3 because they just watched the surveillance video and they could see the pineapple on top of her meal. Bahahaha!!! Like they had time to sit there, and scroll back through security video to see if the pineapple was actually on top of the meal for their lousy extra dollar. Like they really have surveillance video anyway! My daughter was so upset and emotional, again being very pregnant, (and extremely honest, and non-confrontational person ) and she said to the manager, “then you’re calling me a liar, because the pineapple was not on my meal!” She was so angry she just paid the extra $3 and left rather than bursting out in tears right there at the cash register. And NO, LeMesa, I do not want to reach out to you with your pathetic sorry excuse answer to this review when you… Miss manager, know exactly who you are, and what a terrible person you are! Needless to say, there’s not a thing you can do to fix this. It should’ve been fixed that night and you not lie to my daughter, trying to make a few extra bucks off of her. They will not be back, my family will not be back, all of my extended family… And yes, many of them are Mexican, and a lot of us have eaten there in the past , but NONE OF US WILL BE BACK! And everyone else we tell, will not step foot in your restaurant again! Shame on you! Oh, and by the way, everyone reading this review… It is the restaurant in Northwest Omaha.

Went in for after work margarita and had the meatball soup. Soup was hearty, and the meatballs were huge! Order the Presidente margarita. You will be glad you did. The server was an older gentleman and was attentive. I'm glad it was early because the crowd was getting there for supper. I'll go back again.

Great lunch specials. Didn't hurt that it was Cinco de Mayo!

We had a big party but ate early and they were fast with service. Food is always solid. The molacajete is freaking amazing!

I had not sure how to pronounc it but it had steak with cheese and sauce and hit sauce sour cream Guacamole,on a huge plate looked like 4 rolled up tacos but they were nt ...it was great and iam still full after 4 hrs

I had the taco salad. I loved the bowl it was in. It was more flacky and crunchy, rather than traditional bread bowl. So much better!! Their choice of beer sucks though.

One of the most authentic mexican food experience out there in omaha always love there food the complimentary nachos while we wait for our food staff is always super friendly and the atmosphere is amazing with great hit songs in spanish the place makes me feel like if I was in the movie once a upon a time in Mexico The best part is that they dont need that best in Omaha label to be the best Way to go guys love coming in to enjoy the food

Went to eat at this place and came 45mins before closing. I'm glad for the staff for service because my family not only enjoyed their food and drinks but was not rushed at all. Good authentic Mexican food.

La Mesa has always been a great choice for Mexican dining. Always good service and good atmosphere. We definitely look forward to the free chips & salsa. Yum! We got the Bahama Mama Margarita & the Hurricane Margarita. Delicious! My favorite is the chicken chimichanga. My husband ordered the steak & carnitas fajitas!

Either they were under staffed or poorly trained. Either way, a family of 4 received 1 set of silverware and 2 napkins when seated. After food was delivered, server disappeared for 15 minutes. All the staff seemed "forced" to be there. Normally a great experience at this location. This is the first time we left feeling entirely underwhelmed.

We go there often, the food is good, the restaurant is noisy and music can be loud. The service is usually pleasant, and food arrives quickly.

The food is terrible, late, and the workers are physically violent and judgmental. My kid was assaulted on many occasions. I would definitely recommend

Got very sick after eating lunch and a house margarita.

Horrible experience. Waited around to be seated, the hostess (a lady in her 40's) acted as if we were not wanted there and that she was put out by doing her job. . There may have been 5 tables being occupied when we showed up. Sat around for 15 minutes to finally be asked what we wanted to eat. After taking our order we waited another 30 minutes to receive our food, which came out like warm at best. Wife asked for corn tortillas and she received flour.

Tasteless, bland. They only flavorful thing was the sour cream on top. Didn't get to try the refried beans or rice I ordered since they forgot them. Very disappointed.

The food is consistently good in our experience. They have a kids menu for the picky eaters and the fries are the good kind. And even when you think your server is too busy stopping at all the tables to remember what you just asked them for, they get it right anyway. I love their taquitos, that's my go-to, with some extra shredded cheese (the good kind) on the side. The whole family loves this place!

Muy mal sevicio. Llegamos y nadien nos saludo, la mesera no nos llevo a nuestra mesa solo nos apunto de lejos. La comida se tardo mas de media hora y no nos trajieron todo lo que pedimos, al pagar nos cobraron de mas, lo areglaron y nos cobraron triple... no regresare a comer a este lugar

Used to come here about once a month before the pandemic but food has definitely declined in quality since. Visited twice in the summer of 22 and had the same problem: the ground beef was very bland and was scorched. On the second visit, I informed the waitress that the beef tasted burned. She quickly took my plate back and asked the cook to make another tostada (ok good). Amazingly, she returned with a new plate and the ground beef was burned and scorched JUST LIKE the first plate. That tells me the cooks don't seem to know or care what the good food tastes like. There is also a persistent sewer smell in the bathroom. We're still debating whether to ever go back.

First time at Le Mesa, Food and service outstanding. I had the beef enchiladas.excellent so much food I couldn't only eat two enchiladas. Fabulous fine dining. Service outstanding..
