Amazing show. The actors brought Edgar Allan Poe’s stories to life in an amazing way. The paired cocktails were well matched and delicious.

Intimate theater with very talented performers. I wish I could have stayed, but the seats were too small and uncomfortable for my plus-sized body. If you are small, you will love it! But bring a jacket because they keep it cool in there.

Went to see A Christmas Carol this evening. The cast did an excellent job!

The shows at the Hippodrome are awesome and tonight I saw the Christmas Carole, wonderful show. This is the first time however I have encountered two unfriendly staff/volunteers that took our tickets. We arrived at 2 minutes till 4 and a group of folks with paper (versus electronic) tickets who arrived after us were seated before us and then we couldn’t sit together, 4 of us, the guy was rude and the young lady was spacey. Neither of them acted like they’d ever seen an electronic ticket before. I sincerely hope that my next visit to see a play there, those 2 aren’t working! It’s not a good impression for people who have never been to the Hippodrome before.

My first time at the hippodrome. I enjoyed my experience. The seating felt cramped to me. I’ll go back again.

Saw the Christmas Carol yesterday and the performance was outstanding. The cast phenomenal even with a last minute performer. Enjoyed the show .

Wonderful play A Christmas Carol

The Ultimate X-Mas Show....was very funny. It's definitely different and not everyone as some people left after intermission. But we found it innovative, clever and entertaining. You should definitely check it out. Enjoy!

I've seen several live theater productions here. The actors are wonderful. I especially enjoy the comedies because they make me laugh and laugh. They also have a movie theater and an art gallery. It's an old historic building with impressive architecture. I'll go again for sure.

Fabulous production of Bootycandy in the Hipp Unplugged series. Small intimate theater with Q&A following the show. We got tickets yesterday for today's nearly sold out POTUS and had to take what was left in the cheap seats. No problem! There are no bad seats in the Hipp.

Have loved this theatre my entire life. It’s such a special place. The summer programs are wonderful, and the shows always showcase amazing talent.

They always have interesting and unique shows! I tend to find the best ones are shows with small casts of 2-3 people. But that might just be preference because those tend to be pretty unique.

We love being neighbors with the Hippodrome, such friendly staff! We often get travelers happy to stay with us that are only in town for the Hippodrome! Thank you for being such good neighbors!

I go here mostly for the plays, which are awesome, but they also have a cinema, basement parties, and local art.

Just came here last night to see the holiday edition of Murder for Two! The actors are so talented and the entire crew did such a great job - I, along with the whole audience, laughed the entire way through the show and I’m so glad I got to see it. The staff at the venue are all also so kind and helpful! Thank you for such a great great experience :)

We had tickets to a show and had to make seating changes because my wife broke her ankle and was in a wheelchair. Over the phone and in person, everyone there was extremely friendly and accommodating. The show was fantastic and we had a great time!

Ushers not good giving directions to your seat. Seats are small for average person. My arms and hands fell asleep. We know it's a small old historical build but can use some modern on seating. Building has old architecture design. Good place for plays and discovery of history. Good they help young actors.

So many unique cinema showings! I’ve been going to a few movies a year for 6 years and I’ve always enjoyed what I see

Wow I have been to two shows now and have thoroughly enjoyed them both. But tonight was all about the Honkey Tonkin Laundry 🧺. These women can sing 🎤 and I have to be honest I was smitten by the blonde bombshell who’s voice and expressive nature made her a natural. She was perfect for the part and had perfect comedic timing. Easy on the eyes for sure 😉 The honest nature of her co Star made you feel like you knew her as a neighbor your whole life. Really great production and well worth the price of admission.

Went there to see "Honky Tonk Laundry". Performance was awesome. Really fun, actresses did an amazing job, and I laughed a lot. Someone from the staff however irritated me. I was in my seat, not disturbing anything, not making any noise, pulled out my phone, looked at it for a bit to turn it off and she came up to me and my mom and accused me of doing something wrong with it. Was being accusatory and rude. So ruined my experience a little. I was embarressed. If that hadn't happen I'd give the theater 5 stars. Performance was amazing though! THAT gets 5 stars.

I love and fully support theHipp.org My daughter actually attended their camps a while back and the staff is very educational and informative about every aspect of theatrical arts. They're also attentive and observant of the youth and their personality traits... I have an 8year looking to come soon.

Perfect place for Christmas Cheer. Beautifully decorated and wonderful holiday cheer. A must do if you love Gainesville.

Such a quaint yet powerful theater!!!

pretty nice place. Is a safe and welcoming place for all. Also, it has the oldest elevator in Florida, which is interesting. But, the elevator needs a person to manually take you up, so that is annoying.

Amazing place to preform practice and watch very comforting and absolutely beautiful

My family and I have been Hippodrome ticket holders since the 90's and have seen many wonderfully entertaining productions. "Mountaintop" was one of the best productions ever! It was funny, intriguing, gripping and very emotional. I found myself laughing, wondering, absorbed and holding back loud sobs. I can't even imagine the mind of Katori Hall and how he wrote this dramatic presentation of such an important part of our history. I don't have the names of the two actors who portrayed their parts so amazingly believable. They both did outstanding jobs and MLK would be so proud! I am so glad that I was able to see this play. It will stay with me for a long time!
