Creepy guy working the espresso machine behind the counter made my girlfriend very uncomfortable. Happened around 12:15 on Saturday, September 7th.

We came at the end of the day August 11th, so there wasn't much of a selection. We knew that coming in. My sister is a pastry chef and my fiance just loves anything with sugar in it. They both had high praises for this shop and it's on their list of places to come back to. Well done ladies. My sister is hard to please.

I absolutely love upper crust with fresh bread sourdough my favorite pastries there pistachio and rose scones are to die for so yummy with a cup of chamomile tea! Great service friendly staff

Food: 10/10 guava pastry was crisp and warm. Perfect balance of filling and crust. Definitely come back for this every time I’m in the area People: 10/10 cashiers are friendly and upbeat. They make you feel very welcome while still staying busy. Atmosphere: 6/10 lots of trinkets here and there that are really cool but there’s so much that there isn’t a lot of space to stand if you want to look at the bakery case without getting in the way of someone else. It’s a very tight squeeze. Definitely suggest the guava pastry but get there early because they run out before noon most days!

Phenomenal! We ordered small cakes for our wedding and they made the process easy while giving everything we asked for. We also enjoy visiting occasionally for their amazing pastries (though service can sometimes be iffy), but that is beside the point. I would highly recommend Uppercrust for your special day or event!

I have been shopping here for decades + absolutely love the baked goods! Yesterday I purchased a sour dough loaf that was handed to me in the usual white bag. At home I learned the bread came with a black, green + white frosting or dye stain on the top of the loaf. When I called UC I was informed that this was "PRIDE" bread + it was made with flour + food dye. Really? I ordered sour dough. Further the black dye has stained the tips of my fingers. Even dawn won't remove it. Now even sour dough bread has a political stance

I don’t get to go here often, as I live down south, so I look forward to an occasional weekend trip for my laminated fix. Every time I go I am not disappointed and today was no exception. My server Alyssa (hopefully I am spelling her name right) was also fantastic. From the minute I walked in she was there to greet me and pleasantly encourage my indulgence. She made my experience today very enjoyable and I look forward to my next visit.

We didn't realize what we were going to find when we discovered this bakery! We have never been to a French bakery! You walk in the doors and it smells heavenly! We ordered a cinnamon walnut rose (kinda like a croissant) and a scone. The best fresh baked goodies I have ever had!

Have literally been going here since I was five! I love everything they make. I'm always excited to see what they make next. I've gotten cakes for special occasions here too and never been dissapointed. Exciting to see them continuing to grow and do well.

I have to share the amazing experience I had with Uppercrust, specifically Natalie the manager. I ordered my wedding cake/cupcakes through them because they are my favorite local coffee shop and I want to support local business. They were easy to work with, communicative, and very reasonably priced. They took my vision and brought it to life. I was notified during my wedding reception that the person who picked up the cake for me was informed by an employee of an “error” with my order and offered to not only comp my order but gave us so many extra sweet treats for my guests at no cost - and the error? The color was SLIGHTLY off. I honestly would not have noticed if it wasn’t pointed out to me, but Natalie even took the time to reach out to me via email to apologize (tho I insisted no apologies necessary!). This is such an amazing place with kind employees who truly care about their clientele and the relationship they share. Thank you again, Natalie and team, for everything you did to make my special day even sweeter! 🩷

Most delicious bread, pastries, and wholesome combinations of toppings on bread. I am not sure what they are called, but I really enjoy the topping with goat cheese. Wish that you might open a location closer to Jacksonville.

Returned here after a few years of missing their closing time and picked up macarons, an eclair, a tartlette, an almond butter rose, and a Nutella rose. Very interesting display at the front, and never know what you'll see. For example, basil bubble gum. Anyway, this is a hot spot artisanal bakery, so expect to pay quite a bit for a baked treat. Worth every cent if you've got a craving for a fresh tartlette or a chocolate croissant. Packed with buttery goodness so these are perfect with hot tea or a latte. My personal favorite is the eclair. 🌞

I've only been here a handful of times because I usually just make my coffee at home, but if you prefer your coffee from a shop, Uppercrust is the place to go. I usually order a chai or caramel latte, it's been delicious every time and the people are always nice. Ooh! There's also a bunch of herb infused olive oils, speciality wines and ginger beers, and apple juice in those cute little glass jars. This place just has that certain something 🌼🌈

I kinda got fooled by the reviews , but In reality is nothing special about This place, very old building , overpriced, barely 2 tables outside for customers, no restrooms.

I am a huge pastry/bakery lover and i can confidently say this is one of my favorite bakeries and i’m so happy there’s two locations in Gainesville! Every single item i have tried here is delectable and sooo yummy. i love the atmosphere and matcha as well :)

I've had many croissants in my lifetime, in many countries, including of course in France. But this place has by far the most amazing croissant I have ever tasted. Worth even a special trip to Gainesville just for these.

Quaint little shop with Quality baked goods.

I got a chocolate almond croissant. It was flaky, buttery, and delicious. There were nice chocolate chunks inside giving some textural variety. I don't think it had almond inside, but rather almond extract/flavoring. It was still yummy!

Really good bakery. The raspberry cream was my favorite.

We ordered the chocolate strawberry cake for two for Valentine’s Day. My husband and I are frequent shoppers at the Petit store and both fans of the products and wine selections. This cake was truly a delight in every bite. The cake texture, fondant and strawberry cream filling were superb along with the surprise chocolate mousse at the edges. Each bite was savored and we actually rationed the cake into six servings over 3 days. Truly one of the best cakes ever.

This was my first time in today and I will be back! Great service and great food!! The sourdough is the best I’ve found in FL. I loved the croissants as well!

Staff was absolutely sweet and amazing. Helpful with suggestions and expertise. Walked out with boxes of pastries for my family and everyone has loved them. They are better than the pastries we just had in our trip to Europe! The quiche was to die for, best and fluffiest I’ve ever had. I would drive from St Pete to eat it again ❤️ My matcha was super earthy and creamy. Perfect place IMO

This place is stellar. Literally everything we have ever had has been fabulous (and we've gone a lot more than I care to admit). On special days, we get pastries, soups, pretzels, quiches, etc. On a regular day, we get bread (sourdough or campagne)...our 3 year old specifically asks for "uppercrust bread", peanut butter cookies, and iced lattes. I'm not sure why their lattes are simply the best, but they are. Everyone is so friendly, it's a wonderful spot to pick up gifts, and the quality is undeniable. So incredibly grateful to have Uppercrust in our community! Even during the busiest, craziest holiday times, they are so welcoming and don't sacrifice quality. Truly a wonderful spot!

Visiting the area and decided to give this spot a try. The desserts were served very cold & tasted almost freezer burnt- chocolate frosted cupcake, chocolate macarons, raspberry/chocolate cream puff. The sugar cookie, espresso, & latte were the better choices of the items selected.

I like upper crust the sugar cookies are so nice. I had a gruyere and ham rose sitting on a croissant and a coffee. Why do they charge a warming fee to warm up your bread? It was cold in the middle! Also the warming fee states it's 7.5%, but it costs more than the sales tax of 7.5%? Did they charge me a warming fee after I selected my tip? Do they charge me for their use of electricity to warm up the coffee they make? I thought that was already included in their expensive prices. Anyways, the food is delicious but mind the receipts. At least the ham wasn't just a slice of cured deli meat... I hope.

They make the most wonderful cakes! Words fail me to describe how good these cakes are! They are as heavy as bricks, taste like sweet dreams, and feature the most beautiful colour scheme and decorations! It's no doubt one of the most exquisite things I've tasted, and my friend and I had a great time indulging in their deliciousness! Thank you to whoever made it!

The cookie cake icing was basically eating a stick of butter (eww). The French pie had a weird taste. The raspberry croissant was decent.

Every time I’m in Gainesville I NEED to stop by Uppercrust. I haven’t had anything on the menu I didn’t like. The croissants are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the quiches are fantastic with a firm yet crumbly crust. I wish I went here more when I was a UF student…honestly the best.

So good! Croissant? Golden, so many layers, perfect balance of crispy & flaky. Rosemary Bread? Aromatic, fresh, delicious! How is it toasted or in a sandwich? No idea. We demolished it right out of the bag! Tarts? Delish!

The cakes, especially, are beautifully decorated with shiny buttercream icing and unique fillings and are delicious. It’s always a pleasure to visit Uppercrust while in Gainesville!

I’m currently eating a whipped cream cheese and chive quiche. This quiche is fluffy light and the crust is perfect. Coffee is hot service is friendly and they have a outdoor patio that is comfortable.

When you walk into Uppercrust you're greeted with the most amazing smell ever. There's just something very nostalgic about the smell of fresh baked goods. We bought a couple little treats that tasted as good as they smelled. Love this place.

If you can't make it to France this summer, then you can always stop in at Uppercrust. I will not tell you my favorite items as you may get there before me and I will miss out! Items are baked in smaller batches, once sold, that is it for the day.

This little whole in the wall was an awesome surprise. Beautiful shop with the most tantalizing display of baked goods. The hazelnut rose croissant is outstanding. And they serve a great cup of coffee.

The bakery is in good hands.</edit> Continue to be dismayed at the inefficiency of the operational procedures and timely preparation of product. When it takes 15 minutes to get a specialty coffee, just stop offering them - do self help drip and move customers through. How do you end up with 8 employees walking around the back and one up front on the espresso machine? Invest in wireless ccard devices - take easy orders in line. Cut 10 minutes waiting to get a loaf down to 60 seconds. Product is tasty, and the staff are pleasant, but the storefront operation model is dysfunctional. Have ideas.

I had the pleasure of visiting this delightful cafe today. The ambience was cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered different flavors of croissants and coffee. Their croissants had decent flaky texture but lacked the butter richness I usually look for, maybe partly because of the humidity in Florida. Nothing amazing about its coffee for a coffee enthusiast. It would be better if they could increase the number of seats in indoor and outdoor space. Still, this is the best bakery in Gainesville. Highly recommend!

So many tasty treats. Their macaroons are gluten free. Cute little gifts for sale. I wish there were more allergy friendly options. Otherwise, it's a really cute place with yummy treats.

I was always curious, and never knowing there was a delightful bakery near by when I am on lunch breaks. I am a avid of Jellycat recently, and they just had the bunny that I wanted! As for food, big variety and well kept. I always try to support local shops, so I hope this review helps!

Always quality and tasty baked goods. Don't forget to try the savory items, like quiches, as well. The Earl Grey scone is wonderful and the croissants are always fresh. It's great to try a variety of flavors like almond chocolate croissant.

My go to bakery for special occasions. The pastries are unbelievably good.

A bit disappointed in the food and customer experience. Came in around 5:30 to get some rosemary rolls that were delicious but come to find out, not only were all the baked goods out but that one of the staff appeared to be irritated by me coming in. No apology or suggestion to pre-order in advance. Ended up getting cheese rolls at Fresh Market.

Lots of easy, free parking allows you to pop into Uppercrust and try whatever catches your eye or chat with one of the helpful staff. We tried the daily vegetarian quiche, goat cheese and Herbes de Provence. We ate it before I remembered to take a photo😝 Creamy and worth the $. I would not mind just a hint more herbs ;) Next up Fleur au Pistache - $5, crusty, crunchy and soft inside. Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. Last was (apologies, I forgot the name) a mixture of everything bagel and croissant filled with cream cheese! Too big for one sitting, even for two… try a bit…😘 share a bit! On our way home we will stop back in and pick up a chocolate tart, a few cookies and perhaps a cup of soup (they had carrot ginger). There are a few seats outside for a small group but for larger groups, take home ;) Go, enjoy, again and again!

What I like the most about this place is the fresh coffee and customer service, their staff is friendly and joyful, and it's funny because If you enjoy baking you can see the staff while making bread! To me that was lovely, i even made some mimics of bread making tenics to one employee and took it so well!

Bought a few croissants and cookies. Usually are delicious but unfortunately not today. Tasted stale. Probably would have been better off going next door to Fresh Market. Disappointing.

The people were really nice and everything looked amazing but the taste was only ok. On the sweet side, we got a guava danish-like thing, an apricot filled croissant and a flourless chocolate cookie. The fillings for both croissanty things were delicious, but the croissant dough itself was crunchy and tough, rather than flaky and puffy. The flourless cookie was nice and chocolatey like fudge brownie batter but was super sweet (it definitely needed a cup of strong espresso to mellow out the sweetness) and had kind of grainy texture like the sugar hadn't incorporated very well. On the savory side, we got a tomato/cheese covered pretzel and again, the flavor was good, but the texture of the dough was off -- more bready than dense pretzel chewy -- and a sourdough loaf. We were very excited that they will slice it thick. The crust was nice and crunchy, but it wasn't sour at all and the inside of the bread was too fluffy and we wished it were more liked the pretzel. All in all, the people are really sweet so I might go back and try something else but wouldn't make it a priority.

We showed up about dinnertime hoping to grab dessert and the cases were all completely empty. There was one quiche, a couple small cakes, and a few eclairs. That was it. For a bakery to have almost nothing in their case was very disappointing.

Fantastic coffee, delicious pastries and great customer service! We came a little late in the day, but they still had a good selection of bakery items. Definitely will come again! The only issue was I did not like the sugar cookies. I’m not sure if it’s the icing, but it tasted a little like citrus cleaner instead of a sweet cookie. But that could just be a me issue, of course. Everything else was great :)

Uppercrust ~ Wow! For our company Galentine's Day we wanted to do wine tasting and stumbled across Uppercrust. From the very beginning communication with the Uppercrust team was easy and effortless. The manager Ben oversaw the entire event, communicated consistently, and made sure everything was as we desired. Even when we had a few last minute request, Ben was incredibly gracious and accommodating. The day of the event we were able to swing by an hour early just to see the last minute finishes, and the entire set up exceeded our expectations (by the way we 10/10 recommend adding cheeses and chocolates to your event)! Long story short, thank you to the Uppercrust team for making our Galentine's a success. If you're looking for a place to host your event or simply want to experience a wine tasting definitely reach out to Uppercrust!

What a gem! These crossaints are so buttery with gorgeous flaky layers, and a perfect balance of flavors (not too sweet!). The quiches are pricey but delicious and filling. Service is always friendly. Cute cards to browse in the aisle. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you pick from here.
