We stopped in because of all of the great reviews and were glad we did! We had to try a few items so we got the Key Lime pie, Key Lime coconut cake, a bourbon pecan pie bar and a salted caramel praline brownie. I really wanted to try the cake first so we did lol. It was so yummy! Moist but not wet if that makes sense. Great flavor and understand why so many love it! The key lime pie was the best we had while visiting. Both the bar and brownie were delicious too! Service was awesome as well. The ladies there were so nice and even gave us lunch suggestions to try. We’ll definitely be back if we ever return to the island! Give them a try! You’ll be glad you did!!

Visiting AMI for my birthday so I reached out to Cindy through email to help make a custom cake and WOW! It turned out exactly like I asked for (I provided some detail and pictures of previous cakes she’s made) and tasted spectacular! Her response time was fast and she did an amazing job. We also had gotten some of her muffins from the General Store on the island and they were DELICIOUS! We got a red velvet, blueberry, and a cinnamon and each one was amazing. Would absolutely recommend Hometown Desserts!

This place has incredible cake. I've had every flavor, and they are all delicious. This trip I bought a large chocolate cake with chocolate icing. I recommend cutting a big slice and microwaving for 10 seconds. TO DIE FOR - WILL MAKE YOUR TOES CURL!!! I'm not a big coconut fan, but the coconut cake is the best I've ever had! The chocolate chip cookies are great! Brownies are yummy!

We have learned that to make the preferred vendor list of Chiles Hospitality means you are the absolute best. Hometown bakery absolutely nailed it for our wedding. The whole process was easy the communication was outstanding and the result was even better. I do recommend going for a tasting though. We went and thought we already knew the flavors we wanted. While I know they are famous for their Key lime, the orange blew us away. All the flavors were delicious and the setup was beautiful. Hometown bakery will always be a must stop anytime we are on the island so we can relive the flavors of our wedding night! Thank you so much for making our day even more special!

Loved our wedding cake! Cindy made the process fun and easy. We went in for a tasting, chose flavors we liked, and explained the size and style of the wedding. It was the perfect amount of desserts, and everyone commented on how delicious it was. Prices were very fair as well! Would definitely recommend.

Cindy and her team were responsible for our wedding cake and did a fantastic job. From the initial consultation and the tasting, to the booking and delivery on our wedding day. Everything was perfect. We decided to have their bestselling flavor “Key Lime Coconut” and it was phenomenal.

We got a key lime coconut cake for my birthday this year and it really was some of the best cake I’ve had in my life, anywhere. I love a good coconut cake - and this was - but the key lime put it into a different level. The cake stayed moist and tasted fantastic the first day and for a couple days after. That was as long as I could fend off the rest of my family. Really exceptional for anywhere, not just this area.

We love the peanut butter pie. Our favourite. Be good to offer one with oreo crust. Next best is the orange cake. It is awesome! The chocolate is also awesome and so is the strawberry. However the lemon is flavourless. Customer service could improve...the young girl serving us was always in a hurry, and one time refused to accommodate us with orange cake slices even though there were orange cakes in the fridge that could have been sliced up. It was 2 in the afternoon, so still a lot of time to sell more orange cake slices the rest of the day. A big however.....coffee is Kureg but u r charged barista pricing!!! Signifying this would b upfront as I find it deceiving and a rip off.

I can't thank Cindy and Hometown Desserts enough for the incredible cake and bite-sized desserts they created for our wedding. Choosing them was an easy decision because I grew up eating their infamous Coconut Key Lime Cake, and having one for our special day made it even more meaningful. Cindy's attention to detail and talent shone through in every bite of our delicious cake. It was not only delicious but also a beautiful centerpiece that added even more magic to our wedding. I love it here so much! The blackberry lemonade is so delicious, I’ve had it three days in a row. The key lime pie was also super good. Some of the best on the island and all the desserts are fresh. My friend loved the cake pops. The prices are also amazing and the owner was very friendly. Definitely recommend.

Cindy made my wedding cake and it tasted amazing along with the little desserts. There was more than enough for everyone and it all tasted so good! We went with lemon and raspberry and it was a great mix of flavors 😊

We placed an order in advance for cupcakes for my daughter's birthday. Showed up to get them to find out that she didn't make them. I'm unable to get them until the day after her birthday. I appreciate them still being made but birthday cupcakes ordered in advance should be ready for the birthday.

Cindy from Hometown Desserts made our beautiful wedding cake. It matched our beach theme just perfect and the taste was amazing. The top layer was vanilla and the bottom was red velvet with butter cream icing. We also included a small dessert assortment for the kids and they absolutely loved them. I’m so pleased with how the cake turned out. We will definitely return as a customer when visiting again on the island.

I always make the trek to Hometown every time I am in Bradenton. Key lime cake is just awesome. Staff always so nice and welcoming!

The key lime coconut cake was to die for. I don't even like cake(pie and cookies for me). It was the wife's birthday on vacation so after a little research I stopped by with my daughter. The people where great, they personalized it. They even sold candles and matches. It was an amazing way to make the day special for my wife. .........I might stop and get another cake before we leave.

Very mediocre cake. The cake itself taste just like one that you would make yourself from a box, possibly worse. For $40. The staff and the ambiance were 10/10, the ordering and pickup experience were great. But the cake itself went mostly uneaten because it just didn't taste good :/ It was "Oreo" themed, which apparently is just some crumpled Oreo scraps on top.

Such a cute place with wonderful treats to be had!!!! I worked at a small restaurant and dessert bar. I loved it. This place supersedes that with just the dessert's. To top it off the coffee....

Show stopper carrot cake for our very young grandson's birthday. Cindy designed the cake so that we could add his favorite construction equipment on top. He loved the toy, adults sneaked decadent pieces for breakfast. Highly recommend for incredible service and incredible cake!

I highly recommend trying their cake slices. They are moist, delicious and not overly sweet. We tried the coconut cake and the key lime coconut cake the next day. Both were excellent!

We ordered our wedding cakes here, and they were AMAZING!! They were literally exactly what I asked for. I loved asking every guest which one was their favorite, and was elated that people had such a hard time picking! We also got cookies that were as delicious as they were intricately adorable. We purchased a white wedding cake, topped with a strawberry cake and a key lime pie for our AMI wedding. Everything was exquisite and tasted amazing! We ATE every last bite! If you want a TRUE key lime pie you must go here!!!

Hometown Desserts is the best cake around. Cindy makes the tastiest/moistest cakes (keylime coconut and coconut are my favorites), and I can't get enough of them. Everytime I'm in Anna Maria, I have to stop by and get some. That's exactly why we hired Hometown Desserts for our wedding weekend. We had cookies and cupcakes for our rehearsal dinner, a hilarious Family Guy cake for the welcome reception, and of course, the most stunning multi-tiered cake for our wedding. Everything was devoured, and people were coming back for more. Can't recommend Hometown Desserts enough for your next event, or just a regular evening when you need something sweet. I picked up 2 birthday cakes from this place. They were last minute and they had cakes in the display refrigerator. They did their best to customize them customize them in a beautiful way.. The young lady at the front was very nice however I do believe she could have been been more knowledgeable with regards to their offerings. All I am really trying to say is that she may have gotten more money out of me if she would have attempted to sell me more things. I love small businesses and hope that my review is constructive.

I wish I’d taken a picture of the cake because it was super cute, but we ordered a small 6” cake to celebrate our daughter’s birthday while we vacationed at Anna Maria Island. The cake absolutely did not disappoint!! It was an Oreo cream cake and was quite literally one of THE best cakes we’ve ever had! Super light and airy, with an icing that was so close to Cool Whip. We would order from here 100% times over again! They don’t disappoint!!!!

Key lime coconut cake was very moist. It be better if it had some lime zest in the Coconut frosting a little more lime flavor.

Stopped in to pick out a cake for our son’s birthday, so many great options everything looked really good. Ms Deb working behind the counter was extremely kind and helpful. We ended up just buying slices, everyone enjoyed it what they got, lemon, chocolate and neapolitan I particularly liked the icing since it was traditional and not whipped or buttered creamed like a lot places serve these days. Prices are reasonable the quality is top notch, worth stopping in for sure

Not so much. Having enjoyed key lime pie all over Florida and the Keys (Ms. Macs!)I gave the Coconut Key Lime cake a try. Disappointing. Bland. None of the tang or sharpness one expects from key lime. In fact, none of those who shared in the cake could detect a hint of key lime. Ultimately, it’s an OK coconut cake. Maybe they mis-labeled.

Drove through the bumper to bumper island traffic to find a sign on the door that said they had closed early at 3:30 to deliver wedding cakes. I'm sure the treats are delicious but it's very annoying to look up business operating hours only to have them arbitrarily changed. I would have avoided an hour and a half of my day stuck in the car had I known they were closed. My advice, call ahead.

Everything we tasted was very good. The flavors are done really well. None of the fruit is over powering. Meeting with Cindy to get everything set up for our wedding we fun and easy. She made the experience very pleasurable.

Ordered a gluten-free birthday cake for my delightful daughter and we all thought it was one of the best gf cakes we have ever had. It tasted very close to regular, gluten cake! Half left per our family tradition! Coffee there is pretty good, too.

Quaint and fun spots for delectable desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed the classic coconut cake and chocolate cakes. Both were not too sweet and very light and moist. Definitely try this place out. They have delicious coffee, juice, and tea drinks too.

We had key lime coconut cake and orange cream cake and iced coffee with dark chocolate flavor. All were very VERY delicious! Unfortunately they’re closed Sundays! I will visit again next time!

We order a cake from Hometown Desserts every birthday AND gluten free cake and cupcakes for my daughter because she has Celiac Disease and can't eat gluten. We've checked everywhere and Hometown Desserts are the best at making gluten free taste amazing. It's so good that when we have birthday parties, my daughter's friends would rather eat her GF cupcakes (or cake) instead of the regular ones! Also, they are very fast and they are amazing bakers and decorators.

Ordered my wedding cake from Hometown desserts and it was perfect! All of my guests loved it - especially the Key lime layer! They also delivered it perfectly and on time to my venue - the Sandbar. Also, they made me a gluten free cupcake since I couldn't eat my wedding cake and that was delicious too!!!

The chocolate brownies are so delightful and so heavy I ate it before I went to bed and it kept me up for three days. This is speaks volumes to the amount of coco in the brownie it was out of this world. If you like sweets that make your toes curl then stop here.

Cindy and Hometown Desserts were amazing. My wedding cake was just how I imagined. Cindy helped us pick out the cake flavors and worked with us to customize it to our liking. The coconut key lime cake was a big hit at the reception. We also had Strawberry and chocolate that were just as tasty. They also made cookies in seashell shapes frosted with our colors - packed each cookie in a clear bag with a ribbon. Our guest loved them. thanks so much for everything!!

Super yummy! The cake pop truffles were so smooth and tasty, and make a little girls dream come true with the mermaid cake pop! Lots of variety of desserts to decide from!

Cindy's desserts are amazing, and the shop is wonderful, down to the little touches (like candles for surfers). The iced coffee is the best on island, way better than That-Chain-I-Won't-Mention. Iced teas are served sweet OR un-sweet, which helps those of us who cannot understand why you would pre-sweeten iced tea in the first place. But it's justly successful because of the desserts. If you've never been here, the key lime coconut cake is locally famous, and outstanding. Not sticky sweet, not too much of anything, just enough. Cupcakes are wonderful; one year we asked her to make a special batch for a young relative with allergies, celebrating her tenth birthday - they were allergy-free, and the icing spelled out the little girl's name, cupcake by cupcake, which thrilled her beyond words. The scones are... well, they're not English scones, they're a bit softer, and they are fantastic. Special family favorite are the cranberry. Not too sweet. The brownies are a favorite with our younger relatives, though I admit they're too chocolate for me; I prefer a bit of the "cakiness". (Though truth be told, having been raised on Betty Crocker and Duncan Hines brownie mixes, that could be the reason.) The store has expanded these past few years, with nice indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff (I suspect the staffer criticized in one of the reviews below is long gone), and a second location in Bradenton. If you're in the area of Pine Avenue, though, it's a great place to stop for coffee and sweets. OH. And the cookies. Oh oh oh... Last note. There's a negative review from someone called "Piotr" I think, that Google has translated in part as "Generally speaking on bezrybiu and cancer fish". I'm not sure what that means, but I do wish Google Maps would note things like that and take them down, or correct them!

Can't get enough of this place and wish i could haven't shipped! If you are gluten free, there are delicious options. The GF key lime pie is the stuff of dreams. Don't come to Anna Maria Island and skip this stop. It can be easy to miss when driving by, so look closely!
