Authentic Chinese food in the middle of Hollywood!

Just wish they were open later than 9 so i can order late night food sometimes.

Very cute restaurant I went to after getting my nails done. The woman working the counter on 4/21 around 4pm was extremely kind. The food has amazing portions for the price point (which is also a great price point) and was very tasty as well. She was very mindful of me doing takeout and what food items would be best to take to go. Very excited to come back during my lunch breaks.

The best Chinese take out food in West Hollywood. If you need your Chinese food fix, this is the spot. The only thing I wish, the portion a little bit larger but the food is delicious. The spicy items aren't too spicy either which is a good thing. Some other Chinese restaurants over do it with the spiciness.

Pretends that dishes are 12 Dollar and writes “with choice of protein” but then every single option, including veggies and tofu, costs extra and rice costs extra. Not playing that kind of game out of principle, regardless of the actual numbers.

Incredible customer service. Very warm and friendly, welcoming. They food is excellent fresh made to order. Wonderful menu and even more wonderful people. I highly recommend this place and whenever someone asked me my favorite Chinese spot I always tell them this place. This place gos above and beyond and I’m very grateful to have them near me. Thank you for your response. My apologies if I erroneously mentioned that your restaurant is under new ownership. The rude and unprofessional middle aged man working the front counter advised me Hunan was under new management, and now being managed by him. Regarding my recent review as well as past reviews, I simply stated facts along with my honest opinion. Were you not educated on constructive criticism being something to learn from? My recent review regarding my experience, and the deterioration of the quality of your restaurant and food was an honest and unbiased opinion. If it offended you, then I cannot help you with working through that. That is something you need to workout amongst yourself. Yes, I have rated you 1 star in the past, and it was justified. You still seem to be triggered by my honest rating and opinion, and again, that is not something I can help you with. You will need to work that out, as a business owner, on your own. That review was in 2010, so I thought you had accepted my feedback, and incorporated your shortcomings in improving your management. I appreciated the offer for a free item from your menu, but I did not accept, because that was not my goal when leaving you the 1 star rating. I hope you are able to, as a business where customers have MANY choices, work out amongst yourself what you continue to lack. Word of advice: Perhaps other customers haven't given you negative ratings, but it is out of sympathy. No one wants to be that person to provide feedback that will not, especially in your case, be taken as a learning experience. However, I am a person who will provide feedback, whether it is accepted or not. It saddens me that you do not know how to take any type of feedback constructively, however that does not speak to my character, it speaks to yours. Attacking your customers will only hurt your business. Again, I hope that you can find the path to work out your shortcomings amongst yourself. Take care.

I completed a very lengthy menu online only to get an error message on the last checkout that they "weren't accepting orders". My time is valuable; ergo, your review is not. Get your act together or don't bother.

I was super disappointed in the flavors. It didn't taste like any Chinese food I'd ever had in my life. Something was just really off. I even doused it in soy sauce to try and make it better but it didn't. Was honestly a waste of money and I wish I'd read some of these reviews first. It was just a last minute decision on the way back home when I saw a place for Chinese food. Also, parking in the area is a mess. I personally wouldn't come back.

This is BY FAR the BEST Chinese food in L.A! Super delicious and big portions. The owners are an amazing couple, so friendly and nice. My Mom and I LOVE it there! 😃😋

I don’t even know what to say… I was looking forward to trying this place as I live close to it and have seen it a million times… the reviews seemed good so I couldn’t wait… I feel cheated, robbed, gaslit… the food is HORRIBLE!!! We got cashew chicken, the veggie chow mein, and general tsao’s chicken based on the reviews… the food had no flavor, wasn’t cooked all of the way through and the noodles were hard and tasted like they were frozen for a while before reheated… you would be better off going to Wockano or ANYWHERE else. If I was a different person I would have driven back and asked for a refund. I feel like they stole $50 from me… threw the left overs away immediately. Ruined my night. Avoid this place.

If you're a foodie and you have a yen for really great Chinese food this small funky, family owned place shouldn't be missed. Proprietors are nice, friendly, accommodating people.

Used to come here a lot for the Egg Foo Yong. I asked for it to be vegetarian, they happily said yes and said it might take a while. When I got it, it was the best egg foo yong I've ever had in LA. But now, I don't know that happened, they refuse to accommodate me. The same people they were happy to accommodate they refuse to do so. When I order on GrubHub, they similarly refuse to make it. I don't know what happened, but this isn't the welcoming, friendly restaurant my best friend and I grew to love.

Found them online. Drove there to try them out. Walked in and was told "take out only" - I suggested they need to update the Google listing which does state "dine in" as an option, and at least on the website. Their response (curt and not friendly) "thank you" - I say call and ask before going...

I ordered 3 items 1.Egg rolls- so so, kinda over-greasy 2.Pork fried rice- not what I expected. So so 3.Wonton Soup- Loved it! I will be back for that.

I had to wait 1 hour to get served. And they gave me the wrong food! I ordered shrimp and they gave me chicken. Their excuse was they only have one server and one cook. What?

I've lived in the neighborhood for years and just never tried this place until last month, and I will be back! Very casual and friendly, the food was great, very ample portions, and reasonably priced. Don't expect anything fancy, just good food at a good price.

What a gem! The platonic ideal of kung pao chicken, among other delights (like the hot/sour soup). It's small with only a few tables, but since they do mostly delivery, you can usually eat there and it's like having dinner at a friend's home. Owners are super friendly and the chef is supremely talented. Tell them how spicy you like it and it shall be yours.

What Hunan on Sunset lacks in atmosphere, they make up with the best Chinese food in town. I suppose their business is mostly take out, but we go because it's homey, casual, and has it's own unique charm. Their food is simply delicious. It's made with meticulous care. You can watch the chef cook and you can see that he cooks from the heart and with pride. This is one of the very few Chinese food restaurants in the US that doesn't give me an upset stomach afterward. I will continue to eating at this special LA hidden treasure over and over.

We tried this place because it was very casual and recommended to us at the end of a busy day of moving into a new apartment. The restaurant has 3-4 tables and seems to be more of a take-away or delivery establishment. We were the only customers eating in. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was okay but the food was excellent! If you are looking for great Chinese food and atmosphere is not a priority, this is a great place to try! Definitely a winner for take-away and/or delivery.

Went here for takeaway as we were recommended this chinese. Lady who welcomed me was very helpful and serviceminded. As it is an open kitchen we could see how the fold was prepared. It did put me slightly off as it seemed very dirty and raw chicken was put on the same place as raw vegetables. We did take the chance of eating it and it was very good. But I won't be ordering again from this place until they focus a bit more on the food safety.

We visited the Hunan Cafe as we were staying in a nearby apartment. The cafe is like a typical takeaway but with about 20 spaces to eat in. We received a friendly welcome, the food came quickly and was very well presented, there was lots of it and it tasted superb. The phone never stopped whilst we were there, lots of take aways being delivered and collected. This restaurant comes highly recommended!

I like that the owners remember exactly what you ate and liked the last time you dine there. That's so impressive. They even remember what beverage you drank. It's small, only a few tables but the food is amazing! Try the asparagus with chicken!

Nous nous sommes arrêtés par hasard; qu'elle belle surprise! Excellente cuisine chinoise à emporter ou à déguster sur place. Les prix sont très bas , c'est copieux et l 'acceuil est fort sympathique. Bref allez y sans hésitations!
