Very hard to find good rice due to dietary restrictions, it was good

REFUND/REPLACEMENT REQUESTED I appreciate your reply. Hunan Express. Yes, any credit for future use or even a redelivery of another menu item of equal value would be fine. I am attaching another picture that represents what the tofu I usually receive looks like from other area Chinese restaurants. Thank you I have ordered tofu from multiple Chinese restaurants and never was it like what I received tonight. The tofu was in a gravy-like brown sauce. I first found it odd that it was packaged in a container used for liquid items rather than a bowl or usual entree container. That was because it was swimming in gravy. Additionally, that gravy sauce was so salty that alone made it unedible. I don't know what kind of recipe was used or if the cook was a new employee, but this was unacceptable. I have ordered from this location in the past and been pleased. Not for this order. I feel a credit to use on a future item would be an acceptable resolution to this issue. Order take out. It was ready. When I got it home and we started to eat we realized it was awful. The crab Rangoon wanton skins were thick and chewy with very little filling and the Mongolian beef tasted like nothing but soy sauce. The meat was very chewy. Avery bad experience and we won’t be back.

I hadn't been to this Hunan Express in years, and after this visit I remember why. I ordered Moo Goo Gain Pan & according to the menu it had chicken, snow peas, carrots, sliced mushrooms, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots & napa in white sauce. I love snow peas, so imagine my disappointment that there wasn't even one in there! There were huge chunks of onions that the ingredients didn't mention & instead of napa, there was regular green cabbage. It just sucked! I will never go back or recommend it.

Great food at a great price. Friendly folks. Highly recommend for carry out.

The small amount of chicken that I received was disgusting and had almost no flavor the order was mostly celery and I've never seen any Chinese restaurant add celery to hunan chciken

The biggest plus this place has over all the American style Chinese places I've been to in STL is that they sell Springfield Style Cashew Chicken. They don't display this anywhere on their website or menu, but it is listed as "Fried Cashew Chicken" (as opposed to the unfried chicken with cashews and veggies typically served in STL). Order comes with the fried chicken, side of the gravy, rice and cashews. It is missing the chopped green onion, but easy enough to add that at home. Not quite up to par to the abundance of Chinese restaurants in Springfield, MO. But it gets the job done. So far every other dish we've tried has been good as well.

My family has been eating here or getting take out for 15 years and they are the best Chinese food in our area!!! Highly recommend the hot braised chicken and supporting a small local business!!!

Love this place been coming here for years unfortunately we ordered takeout tonight and the crab rangoon are half the size they used to be, so unfortunate :(

The food here is wonderful. We're working our way through the menu, and everything is very tasty. Something for everyone from vegetarians to meat lovers, and they also deliver. This is our go to place!!!!😋

We prefer this type of Chinese food. It's hard to find the Hunan style in this area since our favorite restaurant closed down. It's a great place for carry out but probably wouldn't eat there. The place is designed as a carryout restaurant that also has a few tables. I would rate the food as very good but not excellent. However given our limited Hunan choices it's the best that I have found in West County. They are excellent at doing specials such as hold this ingredient or add additional of another ingredient. We have never gotten the wrong meal. What we order is what we get.

One of my go-to Chinese restaurants that I use when I am in this part of town - my dentist is next door. Reliable. Not fancy. Had the special fried rice and general Tso's chicken this time. Was good.

I love it. They use white meat, which is nice. Fried rice could use more flavor. Lunch specials are great value, lots of variety

I don't know why this is even on the menu. Misunderstood the order of "vegetable cashew chicken" and ended up with "fried cashew chicken", which is literally a bunch of fried chicken with a few cashews sprinkled in the bottom. Why......... This is literally the exact opposite of every cashew chicken I have ordered over the past 20 years.

Used to be able to count on consistently good food here. Last night it was not. Very little meat in both beef and chicken dishes. Beef was little tiny rectangles. Chicken hard to find among the veggies. Crab Rangoon with little filling - mostly wanton. No longer my go to for a quick tasty meal!

Best Chinese take out in West County!

I hadn't been to Hunan Express in quite some time, so I tried it and found that the egg rolls were very tiny and mostly dough with not much filling. Definitely not worth the money.

The food was good. I ordered the ssechuan chicken dinner combination. The cost on the menu and website is $9.95. I was charged over $11.00 and there was an added service charge of .42 cents for paying with a card.

Recently had takeout from here after driving by for decades. Wow. The order was filled quickly, the empress chicken was very flavorful, and the rice fresh. I will definitely order from here again.

The food is great but they have mischarged me several times I wish I could give it 5 stars but the fact I tip in cash and card on a pick up order and they still charge me more then the agreed signed on amount if I come here again I won't tip any longer if they continue charging me what ever they want

I love love love this place. I've ordered delivery countless times and they are fast, food is hot, and always delicious. They never mess up or forget anything.

First time here and it was great. Chicken fried rice and pot stickers were really good. We will be back.

We've tried others and they have the best sweet'n sour sauce, plum sauce, mushu pork, and sweet n sour chicken. Probably more that I can't remember. For delivery they have the best prices in town. Very nice esp owners and young man. We order delivery all the time. I hope they don't change a thing.

Good food but recently they have changed their egg rolls and they are gross now. Wish they would go back to the old ones.

We ordered delivery about a week ago (not over holiday week tho). Ordered our usual: Hot Braised Chicken (boneless) xtra spicy; veg fried rice; egg rolls and side of red sauce. After a 45 min wait we rec'd our food. The order was correct but the food was barely cooked and soggy. We threw most of the chicken away and I had even put the chicken in the oven to crispen it up. It didn't help. Sorry but we will not order from the Baxter location again.

Egg rolls are superb as are the crab rangoons. Good flavor on the meals and always hot. Take out can be a little wait with the crowd but delivery is an option.

Hunan Express es el mejor restaurante Chino en la Ballwin/Manchester. El Kung Pao Chicken, General Tsao pollo y el Hot Braized pollo son todavía muy bueno. El servicio es rápido y también tienen entrega. Éste no es sólo buena cocina gourmet de comida asiática. Los propietarios son agradables y asegurarse de que la comida es caliente.
