The steaks were good not great . The salad was average but served with Ken's packaged salad dressing served at room temperature. ( ? ) The service was excellent . The atmosphere was rustic , simple and cool. I think for the price you would get a better quality meal at the national chains. Hunters is a nice change/option.

Went to Hunters Pub last night for the first time and it was phenomenal. The steak was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend getting the fried green beans as well and top it off with the peanut butter pie for dessert. I personally love little hole in the wall establishments and this place is a must go-to when I travel to the area now. The service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Popular dive joint right off the highway that specializes in steak. It looks like a typical roadhouse that hasn’t been updated for about thirty years. It was a bit nostalgic in a dingy way, but it was packed on a Thursday night. The grouper and burger were just okay, as were the sweet potato fries, fried okra, fried jalapeño poppers, and cheese grits. They lacked real southern flavor though. The best dish was their homemade key lime pie. That was exceptional and would give any restaurant in the keys a run for its money. The service was prompt and friendly, and you could tell it was a favorite of the locals. I

Been here many times and normally it's good, but the last 2 times has been horrible. Steak had zero seasoning and veggies were bland as could be. 2 of us to have dinner was $90.00 . Not worth that amount of money at all.

This place was surprisingly good. It’s a good little hole at the wall place. The waiters were very friendly and extremely quick to meet your needs. The pork chop was a little disappointing since it was extremely dry. I don’t suggest it the fried green beans work my favorite, but the steak on the other hand, that was phenomenal and blew me out of the water the ribeye to be specific. The mashed potatoes and rolls were also really good.

Hunter's has one of the best steaks in the area. Their lobster tail is tender, and their chocolate peanut butter pie is incredible. We like to get our food to go. It's a little too loud inside for us. The wait can be very long so go early.

I should've posted this review a long, long time ago. We've been there 20+ times. Yes, it can be loud at times. Yes, it can be a bit of a wait sometimes. 100% worth it!!! We try to get there about 15-20 mins before they open. If you get there right at 5:00 then the line will be around the building, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. We've always had nothing but stellar service! Tonight was no different. I cannot recall the ladies name, but she said she'd be there 11 years. The business is obviously doing things the right way. Most of the other servers we see have also been there quite awhile. The service and food here are 2nd to none. Thank you, Hunters Pub and crew!

The food was good and the staff was excellent. It was a great experience. The only bad things was the drive there and the noise level. I had the ribeye and from all the photo it looked odd but it turns out it’s seasoning on top which gives it that unusual look.

This place is a hidden gem that I’ve been coming to for a decade whenever I find myself in Columbus. It is off the beaten path but well worth the drive. The atmosphere is beyond relaxed, (think country shack meets bar that decided to fire up the grill)… But… the food is awesome. Best steak you can get for 100miles and the deserts are awesome. You may have to wait if you come during the dinner rush because it’s a whole in the wall, but it’s one worth visiting.

The best kept secret outside of Columbus. Tuesday night special $10 spaghetti all you can eat. It's a 15 minute drive from Columbus but this is The best spaghetti sauce I've ever eaten like Mom used to me. There's a lot of hamburger and stewed tomatoes mixed not some kind of runny sauce. I am now eat here every Tuesday but you have to come early because there is a line. They open at 5:00 I usually get there around 4:30. There's not a single restaurant within a hundred miles with spaghetti as good as this

Awesome atmosphere and place for good food

Hunter's Pub is a unique place. It's in a tiny, elderly building located off the beaten path. Be there before opening or expect a long wait, but it's worth that wait. There is nothing fancy about this place, and the people working there aren't dressed fancy, either. But what they do is work hard to provide excellent service, and they keep everything flowing so that people are able to get in, enjoy a delicious meal, and leave feeling like they've been sitting at Mama's table. Go get yourself a great meal and enjoy a casual, down to earth Southern experience.

Get ready to wait. This place is constantly packed. So you know what that means. Great food in an out of the way place. A hole in the wall. The workers are extremely polite, and really nice. I ordered the New York strip (14 oz) with mashed potatoes and french fries. This was an awesome steak and fries were good and mashed potatoes were also good. Their signature Hunter's pub steaksauce was amazing. i.poured it over everything (you can buy a bottle to take home). I strongly recommend eating here, especially if you're tired of eating at chain steak houses.

I'm probably not going to get good feedback about this and some people my say I don't know what I'm talking about. The steaks that we ordered were cooked right but no seasoning no taste and the outside of the steaks were seared a little too much. Our server wasn't friendly AT ALL! She acted like she didn't want to be there. She couldn't even get our drink order right (probably because she wasn't listening). When my husband went up to her to ask for 2 empty cups, she said what do you want! We had to mix our half swt unswt teas ourselves. She didn't even check on us until the end by saying yall need anything and gave us our check. After waiting for years to make time to see what all the hype was about. I'm just very disappointed $90 later.

We love Hunters Pub. We go every time we are visiting Callaway. We also always keep a bottle of their steak sauce because it’s delicious.

A steakhouse in the middle of nowhere that is usually packed. That says something. We have ridden by this place dozens of times en route to Alabama and have wanted to stop and finally got the opportunity. We now know why it's packed. I’ve always heard nothing but great things so me and my husband decided to try it and I’m so glad we did! We both got ribeyes cooked medium well and they were AMAZING! The house-made steak sauce was to die for and we got a bottle to go. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. There’s a jukebox that plays some great music. We’ll definitely be back.

We're camping at FDR state park and happened to find this place when we were in the area back at 4th of July but wasn't able to try y'all then. Very unassuming place both outside and inside, but once you settle in with the fast a friendly service, it is cozy and easy to relax. The menu is straightforward, and everything that our group ordered was excellent, including perfectly cooked steaks.

Haven't been back to Hunter's Pub in a number of years but our visit back was just as good as we remembered it 8years ago. The charm of a local spot tucked away still holds true when you want to get away from the ever growing chains taking over in Columbus and how busy it gets on the weekends. This was my second, and last, visit here. To say we were underwhelmed (again) is an understatement. I honestly do not "get" the rave reviews. The place is a physical dump, the "trifecta" of storage buildings out back that they appear to be operating from are ridiculous. From the mud hole parking lot, plastic Solo drinking cups, pre-packaged salad dressing, ho-hum food, to the cramped "dive" atmosphere, this place is nowhere near worth the overpriced meals they are offering. My wife and I were staying in a nearby cottage through VRBO and the owners suggested Hunter's Pub. It's a little hole in the wall hidden off I-185 in the middle of nowhere. The strip steak was well seasoned, had a delicious char on the outside and perfectly medium rare on the inside. The cheese grits were perfect and accompanied as a side very well. The side salad was fresh and had fresh cooked thick bacon chunks for bacon bits. The lobster was the only problem I could think of. It was deep fried with a thin crust that tasted almost like funnel cake which amazingly paired well with the juicy lobster tail and the lobster sauce. The only issue is I wish the lobster tail was bigger. It's was moderately priced, portions were plentiful and the staff was absolutely outstanding. Definitely recommend the stop.
