Foods good but do not respond to requests online or full menu

We haven't been here since the remodel and are disappointed we haven't been back sooner. The Lunch Build Box was perfect. The portions are just right and the flavors and texture of the food are spot on. We will be making a point to visit more often!!!..

Great service!!! I continued my Volcano roll competition and was pleasantly surprised!!! The size was small for a Volcano but the ingredients made up for it! Topped with caviar and crab meat!! Big win!!

Good food for the price. Sushi is OK. Staff are friendly and efficient. I've had both the yakisoba and the buldak here. Both were tasty even though they weren't super authentic.

Rude service, the waiters was throwing us out even tho we haven’t finished our food. Since the begging the waiter told us she was stress and that we don’t make any mess, like we are children. Won’t go back

My personal go to sushi place in nm. It is a little pricy, but i’d worth it. The super crunch roll is delicious.

Love this place! The food is absolutely amazing! The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I would highly recommend eating here with friends or family, for a satisfying lunch or dinner. 😋

I've been here a couple of times, so far have not been too disappointed. I usually have a variety Nigri and sashimi. I enjoy the caterpillar, dragon, and spicy tuna rolls. I also like the spicy brisket noodle soup. I usually ask for extra hot. My last visit was not so great. My sever forgot a few things, and disappeared. She did not ask if I needed anything else. Towards the end I just decided to get a to go box. I did want to order more, then decided not to. I really like their food and hope next time will be better.

Fanatic sushi is top notch. Also the yaki soba is really good I recommend it

We have eaten here several times and have never had a bad experience. Food is consistently good, prices are good as well.

Had a nice selection of sushi, and a couple rolls. A $3 house salad and miso soup was a good start with some hot jasmine tea. Be sure to drop a tip in the jar for the sushi chefs!

The food was decent. Unfortunately they seem to put anise in their fried rice which I've never had and didn't care for at all. Their sushi was good, I'd go back but only get that.

Food amazing. Got the lobster tempura roll. Fried Goyoza and hubby got teriyaki chicken and food was yummy. New favorite for sure. Cal roll subpar. Service not great. Food was $46. Gave a hundred and she asked if we needed change lol. Again Service not great. Checked in us once. Sat us and didn't say a word to seat us. Just assumed to follow her.

Good food, nice environment and staff is always friendly and helpful. They have high chairs and plenty of options for everyone.

Staff was great! Took awhile to get a seat, so we sat at the bar. But once we met the waitstaff and chef, it was good! Everyone was nice and accommodating. Vibe is chill. Sushi was great! Not too expensive.

First time in a long time, I finally got my "extra" unagi (eel) roll! Ichiban has a superb unagi roll! It's difficult for me find a good sushi restaurant that actually gives you enough freshwater eel. But this sushi-ya is super generous with my fave dish! I am definitely coming back for that super eel roll! My mom got the yakisoba and that was actually pretty good too! The noodles were a bit too soft/overcooked but the entire dish was deliciously seasoned, with veggies perfectly al dented! 10/10 will return!!

The food is good Japanese cuisine. The service and our waitress were very good and attentive. The decor is upscale Asian.

This place is amazingly good! One of the hidden gems on the Westside. Everytime we come it's exceptional. The entree's come out super fresh and HOT. The sushi is amazing and super tasty. So many great flavors. The only very small issue is the amount of rice that comes with the entree. It's a small portion so we have to order an extra side of white rice. Service is great! The restrooms are super clean, and even had a baby changing table in the Men's bathroom.

We love to sit outside when the weather is nice. Great lunch for $9.50

Don't buy the beer. Overpriced and upcharged. Food is average at best.

I enjoy each visit @ Ichiban. The korean food 🍽 is very delicious 😋! This visit we tried 3 different lunch bowls, a korean 🇰🇷 pancake 🥞 & two sushi 🍣 rolls. The beef bulgogi was outstanding along with the bonchan & egg! Yum! My parents had the chicken teriyaki, and they both enjoyed it along with their side dishes: gyoza/mandu, egg rolls, and tempura. Myvdad tried sushi for the first time after years of thinking it's awful. He enjoyed the spicy tuna roll! He especially liked the spice level 🔥 Definitely coming back!

(New) 2 lunch combos & beef short ribs that my husband always gets! (Old)It’s a Korean/Japanese restaurant. ( Some of the Korean plates were pretty spicy if you Love spicy food.) We have been here for couple times, we had Bento for 2, Galbi ( beef short ribs with rice), seaweed salad, California roll, miso soups, and so on. So far so good all the food were pretty tasty, the service were very friendly too. We’ll definitely come back to try more others plates.

Ichiban used to be one of our go to spots when we wanted tasty and reliable sushi closer to home. Post covid they've changed ownership and style. We've been back three times since they reopened and it's just not the same. Food quality is down. We hate the new setup--it's crowded and claustrophobic. I know it's supposed to provide privacy, but it doesn't work. The menu has changed. Reduction in sushi choices, elimination of some staples, and now Korean dishes. Why? There was nothing wrong with the traditional Japanese vibe they were rocking previously. Guess we'll have to find a new go to joint, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a shot. Ichiban may be what you're looking for.

Really solid sushi. We ordered a ton of different rolls, and they were all very good. The lobster tempura is to die for.

Great sushi and rolls in a clean and nicely laid out interior. Tables nicely separated by dividers, keeps the noise down and provides some privacy. We usually get the same thing, two rolls and some nigiri. Soon I want to try some of the Korean and Japanese Tempura dishes. Service is friendly and prompt, even when busy. My go-to sushi place!

O man, I love this place. It's clean, quiet, and good. I got to say their food is delicious and they have a good lunch menu. Got to eat here. You can't go wrong here.

We had a terrific lunch here. We ordered the deluxe bento box for 2. Everything in it was super tasty and we were full! For the price of $40, it was very fair. Service was also good though they did not have many servers during the lunch hour. Recommended!

Food used to be plentiful. But they changed the menu. Now it appears to be very focused on Sushi. Dinner menu is now stripped down. The only that tasted really good was the teriyaki. Albeit it was saltier than I would have preferred. Besides the portions being smaller the prices gave gone much higher than I remember.

The meal and service we both had was awesome. Would highly recommend.

Go get served by Lexi. Shes amazing and the food is wonderful. Try the monkey balls, I promise, you won't regret it.

I was a usual here, but I recently received some of the worst service I have had in years. The staff at the takeout desk forgot my order and said, "Oops, we can't find her order" and we're laughing about it to each other. After fourty five minutes, they finally asked me to repeat my order, and after ten more minutes, they came back with the wrong stuff and forgot my soda, then proceeded to briefly argue that I ordered nigiri not sashimi and I had to show them the receipt to prove it. When I finally got the sushi, they gave me nigiri anyway. They never apologized for making me wait almost an hour, and since they were so rude, I don't plan on coming back, even though the sushi itself was good. If this situation gets rectified, I will update the review.

Great food, fresh sushi, and the appetizers are incredible! They currently have Korean corn dogs and dango 🍡 and my goodness i was impressed by both! The corn dog is so crispy, cheesy, and delicately sweet, such a unique balance of flavor and the dango absolutely appeased the nerdy anime dork in me lol

Whenever my family and I visit from Santa Fe, we always stop here. The food and service are wonderful. Stephanie is a great, friendly, genuine, and caring server, and we always get excited to have her work with us. An appetizer favorite of ours is the chicken karaage, but order it with the chili sauce that comes the pajeon. It adheres to the chicken better than the sauce they give and has a sweet chili flavor. If you're a fan of menudo or posole, try their soup like the YOOK-GAE JANG, which has similar broth flavor. Tonkatsu is a good option for children and picky eaters who like chicken nuggets. A side of jasmine rice with miso soup is great for toddlers. In the end, this place is usually not as crowded as the neighboring restaurants, and I'd recommend it if you want a nice, cozy place to enjoy some great sushi with Japanese as well as Korean food. I love this place. I have been eating here for over 18years. They remodeled and I think it's under new management but the food is still delicious. I still continue to go here. They have some of the best sushi in town and especially on the west side. The only thing is that the wait staff is not as tentative as they used to be.

We've been here almost 3 years and have never once stopped in here. We wasted 3 years not trying this place before! The atmosphere, top notch. The young man serving us was SO excellent, attentive, anticipated our needs in advance. As a former hotel manager, this is what I always looked for in an employee. I wish I remembered his name. He was on top of everything, noticing all the needs of all the tables, checking in, helping out the other server. The food, also excellent. I'm half Korean, born in Korea, so I ordered Korean food from the menu and it was almost as good as my Mom's!! We'll definitely be coming back for sure.

Horrible business. Waited an hour (in-store) for a call-in delivery and just kept being told "they're working on it" Eventually the food came and it was awful. Steer clear.

We just enjoyed a fabulous Japanese meal for my partner's birthday! We rode our bikes through the Bosque and popped out at Alameda, right at Ichiban! We ordered the Sushi Lunch (one California roll plus 7 assorted nigiri (chef's choice)) and a Build a Bowl (with teriyaki salmon, egg rolls, and a side salad with a deliciously bright citrus vinaigrette). Both meals were affordable and filling. Our server, Daniel, and his busser were super-friendly, fast, and adept. Also, they were so sweet to bring us a ridiculous amount of water and ice, as we (and our bikes) chose to sit on their lovely shaded patio even though it was about 100 degrees outside. Thanks Daniel and Ichiban staff for giving us a fun and delicious birthday experience! (posted review July 2022, edited to add stars March 2023)

Just makes you feel at home and great sushi

This was mine and my fiancee 1st time eating here, I must say the food was very good, the price was decent, the atmosphere was cozy, they have dinning in or out, the lady who took our order was sweet, friendly and happy so to me that does say alot about the way they treat there employees. I would definitely come here to eat!

Delicious food, clean, and love the atmosphere!

Great service when we walked in the door, fresh ingredients and thoughtful, balanced flavors at a great price!! We had the squid salad (so good), steamed pork gyoza (perfectly cooked, pork so tender), a spider roll and an unagi roll. Shout out our server Aaliyah and everyone else who helped our table. we’ll be back for sure!

Absolutely delicious. Had the Beef Bulgogi with kimchi, veggies and sticky rice and we're stuffed! Always a treat.

I had some issues getting the check. The server didn't come by our table for 15min. Food was okay. My wife was given the wrong food but, the server didn't understand so, she just ended up having what the server brought. Fried rice was a little strange as it had green beans in it. Maybe I'll have a better experience next time.

2 stars because The food was good. The service was absolutely terrible. We got left in the corner as we watched 3 other tables come and go. It was so disappointing even after trying to get the waitresses attention we were ignored. We also got charged 18% gratuity and there was 4 adults and a 2 year old who only got a water. Nobody came to ask if we needed anything or if everything was okay or to even get drink refills. We spent 2 hours there and got 2 plates and 3 rolls and an appetizer that was forgotten about and came last.... took an hour to get our food. It was our first visit and will be our last unfortunately.

I really enjoyed this place. I love Japanese food but it also had Korean and Thai. Was very good and wonderful service.

I get the feeling this business was remodeled and what a fantastic job, service could be abit more timely but overall friendly. The food is very good and tasty though abit overpriced in my opinion. Perhaps a slightly larger portion would make me feel the value. Overall it's not a go to spot, but definitely hits the spot when you have a itch.

Ichiban is a comfortable space that is clean and has friendly, impressive associates. The service is amazing and efficient. The food tastes good as well. The sushi is never too warm but not frozen. The only critique I have is their ponzu is a bit more on the soy sauce flavor scale, but add a bit of lemon and it turns out perfect.

Covid has ruined everything including table service

Apparently the kitchen closes quite a while before posted closing time and tables are randomly prohibited from ordering at that time. Too bad because it's good otherwise.

I would have given this place four stars considering the food is decent, however, the waitress is cut throat. The table next to us asked if three rolls would be sufficient for two people. She said yes with a smile. Well, I walked past this server by the computer and heard her say, “ it’s not enough, you be hungry in an hour.” And laughed. My Mouth dropped - almost ran into another table. Straight up gangsta server who gives no F’s. I couldn’t look her in the face for the remaining portion of our dinner experience. Food is decent. I would order again while avoiding that server. The restaurant is clean and tidy and we all know we feel at ease when the crevices and cracks are clean.

Always a great experience. Great sushi, especially for New Mexico​. Super friendly and attentive staff, reasonable and fair prices, and plentiful portions. The family and I have been coming here for years.

If I could give a no star review, I would. I am so disappointed and so upset. I have been coming here since I was 14 years old, that’s over 15 years of loyalty and even supported during the pandemic shut down. I came in today with my mom, husband and 3 children. We order a few menu items and a whole lot of sushi. The miso soup was barely luke warm, the seaweed salad had hair in it, (coming from a restaurant manager, hair is my biggest pet peeve) then we order a Yaki soba noodle dish for the kids, which they ended up giving us the completely wrong yaki soba dish. My children barely ate there food because it was just that unappetizing, I sent the seaweed salad back, some of the fish on the sushi didn’t taste right (I worked at Slapfish for years, I know what fresh fish tastes like) and to top it all off the servers and waitresses only checked on us twice throughout the hour and a half we were there. Being a restaurant manager, I know how important it is to tip servers, but these group of ladies put a gratuity of 23 dollars on our tab, which I believe was about 18%, when I feel they didn’t deserve that because their lack of inconsistent table side service. I was also listening in on some of the conversations around me, our table wasn’t the only table to have gotten wrong orders. I won’t be coming back after todays visit. Also your not suppose to tax gratuity as it’s tip money.

Worst experience I have ever had!! They didn’t give us all of our sushi rolls and as we would normally think the other rolls would be coming out shortly. When we asked where they were waitress said you already got all of your rolls. We didn’t take a photo of our food prior so they charged us and accused us of lying. Super terrible staff!!!! They also said they were going to go off of the chefs memory who was super slammed and had tons of orders. Waited forever to sit down as well and were super patient with the extremely slow hostess. I literally never leave bad reviews because I know how hard it can hit a business but these people obviously need to hear how awful they are. Oh yeah and at the end one of their looser waitresses called me a Karen which I definitely am not but of course they want to find any excuse for their absolute terrible behavior. A generation of lazy instagram star wanna bees. Good luck with your life as a server giving sub par service.

Really delicious food for reasonable prices. The yakisoba, udon soup, and pajeon were real stand out dishes for us. All meals were about $12-15 with us taking about half our food home as leftovers.

Fabulous food, great service. Sushi bar seating is awkward. Can not watch the sushi chef at work nor see the finished masterpiece. A higher counter with bar stools would be incredible.

Best sushi on the Westside!! Newly remodeled interior is beautiful, staff is fast & personable, food selection is delicious. Tables are perfect for a cozy dinner for two or also larger parties. Love their mochi as well. Totally recommend!

Love Ichiban! Hadn't been there in a while so we stopped in for lunch today. We had the lunch bowls with tonkatsu, tempura veggies/shrimp, gyoza and rice and it was all delicious. The server was so kind and brought some broth and rice for our baby. She also recommended the tempura ice cream which was delicious. We'll be back for sure.

A well-established place and recently did a remodel of the place. It gave the place a fresh look and privacy between parties. Food was yummy, I had the maki lunch with edamame. My friend had teriyaki shrimp, the shrimp was big and was cooked nicely done. I guess a normal wait staff member had the day off, so the other wait staff members were very anxious and rushed. The reason for the four stars, the other wait staff members shouldn't have to be so dependent on the missing staff member. My friend and I were in no rush and we felt rush. Please (Ichiban) watch out your pace and your approach. Definitely worth another try again.

This place was absolutely fantastic before the remodel. I cannot express how disappointed I am with them. I honestly don't know what to say or do to improve them. Maybe handmade gyoza? Go back to the original recipe for spicy chicken? Maybe have WAY BETTER ingredients? Either way, I won't return for a long time because I have never been so heart broken with food from a place I visited during my college days and loved.

Honestly best traditional Japanese restaurant, I have ever been too in my imentire life. When ever I come out here I always try and get some, and this is the best for anyone who have never tried sushi in there lives to actually enjoy it!!!!

Great food, great service. The team here truly cares, and it shows. The sushi is top notch and would still be considered great in a city much closer to the coast. I've never found a bone in any of my unagi orders - this has never been true of any other sushi place I've frequented. The sushi chefs really, really care about what they're making. Korean options are super good too - try the Galbi if you like short ribs, or the Soon Dubu if you like soups.

I used to love this place but the last two I ordered; my food didn’t taste so delicious. The fried rice had a strong oyster sauce smell and was very mushy. The Bibimbap toppings were stale. Just very disappointed on the quality of food.

Took awhile to be seated for a Thursday . No music was playing so the sounds of loud clinking of dishes was a bit annoying . Food was good!
