Great place and great fiid. I recommend the guacamole

Well I didn’t took pictures because I didn’t plan to make a post, is a great place for Americans, (my husband is) but the carnitas tacos was extremely greasy and no too much flavor, was pork but I am not sure if it was cook in any salt and pepper or they just add the greasy sauce at the end, it did had a lot of achiote (red color for food in South America) but was not a great flavor plus the tortillas they didn’t even ask me if I want corn or flour but the flour tortillas are not good! My husband order the pork lion and chicken tacos that were better. We sat outside so gives you chance to pick, but again my tequila was with espolón tequila that is not bad but had to he very cheap mixer taste bad so I recommend get the skinny margarita with tequila reposado that my husband pick was 1.000% better. I am sorry, I am Latin but I don’t recommend this reflex places they are not even original. And in a Mexican place have a bad margarita 🌼 Humm 😱

Really loved the Steak Taco, Mexican Cheese Steak Torta, and the complimentary chips and red salsa! My daughter got the Chicken Pibil Bowl, and it was good. There was a hefty serving of guacamole that came with it, and it was delicious, too! We had great service! We'll be back!

I have eaten there inside with a group and another time just sat outside at bar. Both experiences were great!

Sooo...... Pros: positives are this location has lots of parking behind the restaurant and the interior looks nice. Cons: the young server we had outside, he was very nonchalant and inattentive to my family. We were given chips and salsas by a young woman and waited for 20 mins before he took our orders. After 20 more mins, the food items they presented on a VERY limited kids menu had no flavor and didn't look appealing (THEY BOTH ORDERED CHICKEN TACOS-ONE PLAIN ONE NOT.) I asked the server what he'd recommend for me and he stated the junkyard tacos even though I said it didn't sound appealing. Also ordered esquites which ended up being very salty and only about 3-4 tablespoons of corn. When this was communicated to him, he said "yes, it's salty because of the cotija cheese, but it's usually hit or miss some days." He brought the plate of tacos out and I spit it out immediately and told him to take it back (I REALLY DIDN'T CARE FOR THE TASTE) and I wanted something else, but needed a menu. He came back after almost 18 mins and said did I want desert?! I sternly stared at him when I said, I've been waiting for consumable food so don't ask me about desert or another drink! I ordered a shrimp taco, a steak taco and chicharron to go. Well, my shrimp taco was brought out by the same girl from earlier and the rest followed already bagged up. So irritated I didn't even open it, just waited for almost another 15 mins for him to show his face and bring the bill. I paid and wasn't going to tip AT ALL, but decided to leave a small tip to match the experience. Get home and see that somehow that server charged me for SOMEONE ELSE'S BILL and tried to correct it and CHARGED MY BILL after the fact BUT NEVER COMMUNICATED THAT TO ME!! That was almost $200 of my money that wasn't accessible due to his mistake and he didn't disclose that had occurred! What the he11 is wrong with people?! And the "chicharron" was not an ounce of crisp or fat in sight-just looked like cubed pork chop pieces! Again, the "service" deserves a negative rating. The food was below mediocre for a restaurant that says they're full of flavor with their unique approach to Latin American food. WE WILL NEVER DINE HERE AGAIN!

Pork belly app was very good and enjoyed the steak rice bowl. But prepping silverware by the front windows at start of the dinner service not a good look

I have been a longtime customer and a recent professional business associate and I have nothing but the absolute best to say about Iguana On Park!!! When I say these people are the best, I’m not joking… whether your an individual looking for great food and drinks or a business looking for an exceptional catering experience, this is the team that meets your every expectation and delivers what you desire!! Super shout out to the management; Cory and Shane, I’ve received the best experience possible with these two!! The bartenders are amazing, shout out to the wonderful Riley!!! Yes, the tacos are amazing… yes the drinks are great…but really I’m a sucker for customer satisfaction and ohhh do these people bring it, each and EVERY time! Way to go Iguana On Park!!! 🤩

Our family held a birthday celebration here which consisted of 15 people. We had done so on 5 previous occasions with no problems however my $475 tab included a $30 cake charge & since I had never been charged for bringing a birthday cake on any previous visits, I questioned why this time? The manager stated that the waitress decides if the charge is added & he refused to remove it. I told him that his server did not cut, serve or have anything part of the cake to which he stated that I brought my own cake to his restaurant & no adjustment. I told him that I had never been charged for this on any of our previous visits to which he replied the charge was staying I would not have had a problem with the charge had I been made aware either when I made reservations or when we arrived since I had never been billed for this before. I always ask any restaurant when I make reservations if it’s ok to bring a birthday cake & if it is a problem we simply go somewhere else. Needless to say, myself, nor any of the other 14 paying customers in my party will be dining here again.

Seared scallop taco and steak bowl where really good!

First time eating here and very enjoyable. Casey, our waitress was very accommodating and had great recommendations. Enjoyed the vodkas blueberry and mint drink, yummy! Order the fried greet tomato tacos and these were the absolute best tacos I have ever had. Thank you for a great lunch.

Where the locals meet each other after work! Awesome Tacos, give it a try because it’s worth the drive. 4 months later and Brittany is a great server, we didn’t know we needed anything because she brought it before we knew we needed anything!

Cute place. We got the $15 bottomless mimosas on a Sunday. I was really surprised it wasn’t packed! Food was pretty good, service was fast, and the employees were polite. I think the tacos are a little expensive for just one but I would go back again. Thank you!

My wife and I came in and had Hunter as our bartender. He was amazing, comical, engaging, really knew his stuff, he could really get the drinks out in a timely fashion and was very gracious.

This place has really gone down hill. I ordered the scallop taco and I could smell there was something off when they sat it down in front of me. I should have trusted my gut but I bit into it anyways. I immediately spit it out and sent it back. The server took it away and gave me the standard apology. I thought maybe the manger would come out or someone would at least offer a complimentary dessert but no acknowledgement at all. Its not like I just didn't enjoy the meal or the order was wrong, it was spoiled! Nothing ruins a meal like spoiled food. On top of that, everything came out extremely slow, even drinks.

So sad to see a once great place lose their touch. The last 4 times I've been here I've been more disappointed each time. Last night was not busy, maybe 1/4 full. Extremely long wait times for food and drink. Drink took 20 minutes. It was just a house marg but it was disgusting. Straight tequila, no mixer, felt like three shots. Seriously. It was basically clear. Waitress was really nice but service was slow. Waited 10 min for her to return with the checks and another for the box forgotten. Our total dining time was 1hr 45min and we did not order apps or dessert. Table was sticky but not dirty. Had to get our own extra chairs. Tableside gauc had no Lime or salt, making it taste unfresh. Food was underwhelming. Something is def going on with management and BOH operations. Bummer.

I will certainly come back. The guacamole prepared at our table was outstanding, and Madison, our bartender, demonstrated impressive skill in crafting drinks with a Peruvian twist, offering a distinctive and eclectic experience.

You can never go wrong when you visit this location! The bartenders are amazing! Shout out to Hunter!! The food is always so good! Staff is always on point! Never had anything bad from here!! You can come back over and over again and always have something different!

Consistently my favorite restaurant in Jacksonville. Food is amazing. Location, atmosphere, and customer service are top notch. Last time I was there, our tableside guac was not as great as normal due to some bad avocados. JD, the guac maker, came back on his own accord two minutes later (without us asking) and told us he was not satisfied with the guac he made and asked if he could remake it for us. This phenomenal customer service is the norm at Iguana On Park and is exactly why you should come eat here. (on top of the amazing food). Corey was the manager at the time and it is very apparent he and the rest of the management team run this restaurant superbly. Awesome job everyone.

Excellent guacamole and fish tacos.

This was my first time. It will definitely be my last. There was only one other party in the entire restaurant and the service was terrible. The food took forever to arrive and was cold.

Good food, like a fusion Hispanic flavor. Table side guacamole made to order right at the table. Had 3 different tacos flying fish, meat n potato, and carnitas. The flying fish was good a little too much pickled cabbage? The pink stuff, unsure. The carnitas were too salty for me, and I guess I wasn’t a fan of the “Tinga” meat in the meat and potato taco. However, my partner said he loved them. I brought them home to him since I couldn’t finish. The chips and salsas were full of flavor and fresh. Everything was very fresh. I had a virgin antioxidant drink thumbs up!! 👍🏼

Stopped in on my way to work. I'm a bartender so I decided to sit at the bar. Most of the available seats were messy from previous guests so I made sure to sit somewhere clean which happened to be in the corner by the margarita machine. Both male bartenders walked passed me multiple times and then proceeded to help another guest who sat at the dirty place at the bar. They went out of their way to clean all the plates and wipe the bar top off for the guy and then pour him a draft and get him a menu. Then after another 5 min one of the bartenders just hands me a menu. I got my Ceviche togo and left. Food is excellent but service sucks!

Amazing, wonderful food and atmosphere.

The food is awesome and affordable! The oldest brother, Lip, from Shameless works here! The logo isn't really an Iguana, it's a Gecko but they are both lizards so that's cool. Everyone that works here is chill but the food is still on point 🔥.

I recently had the pleasure of being served by Jennifer at Iguana on Park. From the moment we sat down at the bar, she demonstrated exceptional professionalism and a warm, welcoming demeanor. She made sure our glasses were never empty and helped us with the menu, as it was our first time. The empanadas were delicious and came quickly. Loved the chips and salsa to start. Will be returning. Highly recommend for lunch. 5 stars.

Trashy excuse for a restaurant. Went at happy hour, paid full price for drinks. They serve a fried fish taco with a hidden 4 inch wooden skewer for you to discover with your mouth. The servers paid no mind or even asked how I liked my skewer taco. Absolutely trash should be shut down asap before being sued

This our favorite place for Mexican food in all of Jacksonville. We love the Queso platter, chicken and steak tacos. We have had Christian as our server several times and he is fantastic..everyone has been great be he has stood out. This place also did the catering for our wedding reception/party and I couldn’t have asked for a better job. They were tremendous. We love this place.

Guy named Christian was so handsome, but I couldn't muster the urge to get his number. For that I give 1 star service for him not noticing what he could've had. Empanadas were to die for.

It was our first time visiting, and my family and I had a wonderful experience. Our server, Christian, was exceptional—very patient and attentive, allowing us to fully enjoy Iguana on Park. He provided detailed information about the food and was quick to ensure we had everything we needed. Overall, a 5/5 experience! We’ll definitely be asking for Christian every time we visit.

I’ve been eating the great food here since they opened and I still find myself craving it! Had the avocado toast on their brunch menu and it really stands apart from the average! I would eat the steak taco everyday for the rest of my life. Go out of your way for Iguana on Park. Love the bar a ton, great outdoor seating as well. Love the staff like family! Always a delight to cone in, staff had a great attitude and attentive. Food was delicious I recommend the empanadas as they are a nice flavorful way to start your meal!

Good restaurant, extremely horrible service. Saw them drinking alcohol instead of serving us a drink. Love the venue. Extremely bad service. The place wasn’t busy whatsoever, maybe like 15 customers altogether. And it’s about 8 PM in the evening. Surely do not recommend this place.

I was hesitant on going but WOW ... the food was outstanding, service was very good and atmosphere was great. I had the Junkyard tacos. The table shared several appetizers and all were spot on. Oh, the margaritas are really good. I'll go back again soon.

Went inside at 2 hardly any patrons there sat at the bar the bar tender didn't seem to notice me as she was doing inventory so i asked someone else for a menu then waited on bar tender but still busy doing inventory so went out to main dinning area and sat down there was about 4 waitresses walking around like i was invisible so i left

First time at Iguana on Park and I really enjoyed it. We had a business lunch with a party of 8 and the service was fantastic. I had 2 different tacos, one was fried green tomato and the other was fried cod - both were delicious and satisfying. The Avondale neighborhood of Jacksonville Florida is wonderful of itself and Iguana on Park only makes it that much nicer.

Took awhile to be seated even though tables were empty. Food was good though. A little scarce on the meat but otherwise pretty good

Iguana’s tortilla chips and salsa are a step above the typical Mexican offerings. I couldn’t stop eating them. We also got the queso fundido and it was amazing. I got two steak tacos and they were yummy. If you want to lower the heat level just take off fresh peppers. Shannon was our server and she was attentive and provided great service. She checked with us several times and made sure we had everything we needed. We love Iguanas!!

I have been to iguana on park several times . Food is good and staff are all friendly ! Shannon waited on my sister and before heading downtown and she was lovely . Great location , great parking, outside area is wonderful . I have also reserved/used one of their private rooms .. great for friends, family and business mgrs!

This is our new “Go to” place for good food with a great atmosphere. Our server Shannon was excellent. I felt at home immediately. The kind of place you feel comfortable lingering and chatting.

went here on valentine's day. finally had time to write a review. i think this place is totally overrated. queso was decent. had a steak dish, lacking flavor and meat was tough. the carnitas, tasted like it was cooked last week, frozen, thawed out and re heated. there's a few mexican places in the area, i would try those first before ever going back to iguana.

The first time we went, the pork was very dry and the price was high. We really wanted to like it so we went back again and had almost an identical experience with other dishes. Nice seating outside but pretty underwhelming food for the price.

Definitely a must for your Taco Tuesday dinner! Our server, Jasmine was on point! Baja Fish, Junkyard, and Dirty South tacos were amazing. Table side guacamole and drink specials are an added bonus.

Went on Saturday for the first time…. Turned around and went back on Sunday for brunch! What a great experience I had. The food was amazing, affordable and the vibe was very relaxed and welcoming. We had a time! Bartenders super friendly, the Chef explained the brunch item I wanted and he didn’t miss…. Everything was excellent 💛

The chairs was so much uncomfortable, the food came with hair and cool, the glasses was dirty, the service was awful, asking for straws, napkins and silverware because she never bring. For sure never I am going to come back. I paid 73 dollars to come back to my house and eat.

Was our first time here as we usually go to Cantina Laredo for special occasions when in the mood for Mexican. It’s our wedding anniversary weekend and decided to try something new. We had the Queso Fundido for an appetizer, it was amazing. I ordered the Chimichurri Steak for my main course and while the flavor was on point, the steak was undercooked. I ordered it medium rare and it arrived rare and quite chewy. My husband ordered the Shrimp Rice Bowl and a Seared Scallop Taco. The flavor of the rice bowl was good although it had exactly 2 medium sized shrimp in it. The real issue was when he bit into a scallop in the taco, he spit it out immediately because it was spoiled. He told our server he couldn’t eat it and why. She apologized, said she’d have it taken off the bill, and took it away. I ordered the Lady Laura Margarita and it was amazing. We also opted for dessert and ordered the Churros. While the flavors were delicious, they were undercooked. The centers were still liquified in several of them. Guessing that maybe the kitchen was overwhelmed with it being prom night maybe? Not sure, but either way for $140.00 before tip, I think I’ll stick with Cantina Laredo from now on.

If you are advertising that you close at 10pm, then close at 10pm. Not 9pm. This is a nice enough restaurant that they should not be closing a full hour before posted time. Extremely frustrating. Cut some staff if it’s slow but seriously

I have been here twice, once on a solo mission, once with family. Both times, the service was good. At times, it's slow, but that is understandable with the flavor and presentation of the food they served. I wish I could remember the names of the dishes, but I tried several ones, and I am of the belief that you can't go wrong with any of them!!

We where there for a volunteer function for V for Victory! The food was fantastic and the strawberry margarita was awesome! The service was wonderful! Thank you to Iguana on Park for hosting! We will be back soon!

2nd time here did not disappoint. This place is wonderful and the interior is really nice. Lots of murals and modern decor while still showing authenticity. The food here is good and the bar looks really nice. The outdoor space is great and set up with heaters for cold weather. It is great for photos and large groups too. I really like this place and will continue to come here. The churros are above and beyond any others I've had.

The most unique and tastiest Latin food I have ever tried! their beef is so soft and juicy that I wonder if it's made out of cloud cows. Try their steak tacos - they are out of the world!! it was so good, that I forgot to take a photo before I devoured them! The drinks, however... are weak. very weak. no kick at all. Imho stronger drinks = better tips. If I wanted weak drinks, I would drink lemonade!

Amazing dinner and drinks. Steak taco, shrimp taco, guacamole and queso with beef were all so good. Jasmine was an excellent server and took care of us very well. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

This is one of the BEST Restaurants in Jacksonville. They should give a TED talk on service, we have been that impressed with our experiences. Go for a date night or family night. You will NOT be disappointed. We highly recommend their pork belly tacos and their duck tacos (if they still have the duck, so good)
