Island Trading Post is a fantastic place to visit with a great atmosphere and a wide variety of items. The ice cream and milkshakes are amazing and definitely worth a try! Just be sure to keep an eye on your kids, as there are some items that might not be appropriate for them. Overall, it’s a wonderful spot with lots to offer!

It's a cute fun store to browse, and the ice cream is delicious.

Cool place with all different things. We primarily went here for ice cream after eating dinner above at the Steamers Restaurant. The ice cream was delicious with plenty of Blue Bell flavors to choose from and some fun waffle cones. Definitely recommend dropping in and having their ice cream!

What a clutter so much inventory that it’s hard to walk around. It’s just another generic tourist trap with no name brand items !! EXTREMELY overpriced!! I feel this place could be great with the location they have. If you’re in NEED of something while in the area they have a few items to pick from but you’re gonna pay a lot for it. We visit Cedar Key several times a month, it is our favorite weekend getaway. No visit is complete without some ice cream from the Island trading post! They also have a great selection of beach clothing and souvenirs. Nice folks work there too, but they stay busy and sometimes you need to have a little patience.

I absolutely love the Island Trading Post on Cedar Key! Staff is always helpful and friendly. Prices aren't outrageous and, for a ball cap collector, this is the place to go! And, during lunch, don't forget to save room for ice cream!

I had to pick up some more T-shirts. They have better quality t shirts here. They're a little more money but you can just tell they are better. Nice gift shop and it looks like they have really nice rooms to stay in. Maybe next time.

This is the most friendly place that I have been,in all of Cedar Key. Everyone was working and busy, but still very helpful.

Nice store for keep sakes. We went in today for ice cream after dinner for our son. The ice cream was great per my son. Service could be a little friendlier. No one was smiling, went to check out, they didn't speak to you, just cashed us out. This is the only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars. A smile goes a long way. ✨️

Just another generic tourist trap that can be found at any major beach city. no local products at all. Brand name ice cream shipped in from who knows where. and the real kicker is they only allow you one sample. what's the point of a sample if you can only try one? Lol. Rude staff and owners, very poor customer service.

Dock St is congested, even without traffic. We arrived on a Monday morning when there was virtually noone else around and yet we had to make two passes on the street to find a parking place. We had to walk past a half dozen very smelly garbage cans, in between the parked cars, just to cross the street to get to this shop or any of restaurants. The buildings that housed these atrocities are run down with uneven steps and in desperate need of repair. I wanted to go to Cedar Key for years. Incredibly disappointed after a two hour drive hoping to catch a glimpse of old Florida. I guess we did. Save yourself the disappointment. Not inclusive of any thoughts other than their own. Avoid the entire area.

Used to be pretty good a few years ago but now most clothing here is cheaply made and selection has definitely all around declined. Good ice cream though.

I read a bunch of reviews before going into this store so I was prepared for BS. Well, it actually wasn't bad. The employees were polite and we had no problems. There are some items that are political but no more than any other shop. Hey, they still sell bud light so they are being inclusive and the political stuff is pretty much to the left when you come in.

First time in Cedar Key. This shop advertised homemade ice cream amongst other things we discovered upon entering. After lunch my family and I went in to get dessert for the kids and buy souvenirs. We were a group of 5 adults and 3 children. Yes kids touch stuff. Nothing was broken. The mother offered apologies that were met with a with a wordless hateful glare. Needless to say nothing was purchased. I guess the ice cream is geared more toward ppl with the munchies then for kids.

Excellent store. Got to talk to the owner. Nice guy. You few whiners about the small amount of political merchandise can just shut the heck up. Will definitely be back.

A great destination to pop in to if you are visiting from out of town. Mikey and the team provide fantastic services for an affordable price. I would definitely recommend.

I think it is inappropriate to display political propaganda, like this shop does, regardless of one's political persuasion. It is rude, tacky, and very unprofessional. I will never shop here again.

Not sure what "unpatriotic items" some are referring to in reviews. I saw pro America and enjoyed the selection. If you have an issue with seeing funny attire or souvenirs then maybe just stay home and NEVER GO OUT so you aren't "offended". Amazing how the tolerant preaching individuals are not tolerant. Lol

Been coming to cedar keys for over 30 years. Will not go back to trading post not kid friendly very rude people working there.

Stopped in for ice cream and souvenir shopping. Staff was helpful and cheerful. With the huge variety of goods to shop from, you will find something for everyone. Loved all the patriotic items in the store!!

Been here multiple times. The staff is amazing and is always super sweet. Sounds like some people are butt hurt about the Trump stuff. WAHHH. I got a cool coffee cup there and taking my family there this weekend since they all wanted to know where I got it. Don't change guys! :D

Beware if you visit with children. They sell very vulgar merchandise, much of it prominently displaying the "F" word. It is in plain view and some within the reach of a child. Not a place to go if you value decency and Christian values

Ironic that many of the negative reviews use terms like "treason", "un-American", "propaganda", etc. I'm sure they would be just fine if it was swinging the other way. This place is just fine. Lots of fun items. Grab a cold beverage as soon as you enter the front door and enjoy drinking it as you check the novelties out. Relax and don't take life so seriously that you are offended by a sticker.

Ice creams great (but isn't all ice cream) but the service lately is terrible! I've been coming for over 7 years. We boat here every weekend but will no longer go to this establishment. Please find friendlier ppl to serve kids ice cream!!!

A troubling selection of touristy souvenirs for a quiet waterfront village. I get it; the majority of people want a key chain or magnet, made in China, with Cedar Key stamped on it, but let's leave politics out of it. Just when I was embracing the vibe of what life used to be like in Florida...I am smacked in the face with pro-Trump and anti-Biden parfinalia. I did buy Blue Bell ice cream but you won't get anymore of my money.

I wanted to check the place out but, when I approached the front door I was assaulted by the MOST unpatriotic and un-American items I'd ever seen on display right up front! I'm sure they have some normal beach oriented stuff, but I'll never find out because I'll never set foot in such a hateful, un-American establishment!

Best gift shop on the island! They have pretty much everything you want there.. I especially loved the Joe Biden selection lol. The prices are not as high as most gift shops and the staff and owners are VERY nice people

What a shame! Such a beautiful sland with such RUDE employees and merchandise. It amazes me how tourist based retail believes selling degrading merchandise is useful or acceptable. If this represents Cedar Key than it's not an inclusive environment for tourist.

Visited this local shop during my tour of Cedar Key. Extremely disheartening to view profane and treasonous propaganda on the merchandise. Promoting hatred and division are not desirable traits for economic and community growth. My perception of this beautiful island community is darkened by the ignorance displayed in this business.

The most delicious homemade Ice cream in town!! We had a 2 scoops salty caramel and triple chocolate. We paid $7.

We love to visit Cedar Key, and stopping off to get icecream with these folks is always a high light to our stay!

Got to stop and get you a ice cream cone hits the spot a little expensive but had to have it and you do get what you pay for

I always buy souvenirs at Island Trading Post when I am visiting Cedar Key. They have some interesting items. They also sell amazing ice cream. I always get a ice cream cone on the way out

If you are looking for one of a kind souvenirs, great shirts or original items, this is the place to go. It's really hard to show how much cool stuff this store really had. Well worth coming to visit!

Awesome gift shop! Cedar Key T-shirts & sandals here are awesome! Good prices! Big selection of beautiful sundresses and hats. The food is good too! We don't know why there are any negative comments. This is the best shop in Cedar Key. It has everything you need!

It’s laughable how the only negative comments are from the local degenerates who not only have 0 class, but have more drug addicts in their families then actual teeth in their mouth. Love coming to island trading where the ice cream is yummy, and the souvenirs are perfect. It’s a shame the town is so full of horrible people, we love the owners. Just feel bad they are surrounded by such trash.

I didn't eat there, so I can only guess the bad reviews are true. However the souvenirs were great and plenty of them and I bought myself the most wonderful dress it was a fun place to shop ;-)

Every time I visit Cedar key, I got an icecream from here to chill.

Ice cream was a little pricy, but delicious! Cute little seating area in the back with a nice view of the water and pier. Lots of cool souvenirs available.

My son found a hoodie at this place that he couldn't find any where else. We bought all our souviners from here. Love it!
