Me and my daughter have been going here and getting out for a while and it truly is the best, safe is always so kind and everything is always good 👍

I wrote a glowing review yesterday. The food is really well prepared with complex flavors … yesterday I picked up. Today..it was delivered and not by the restaurant as they said. It was a delivery service with an incompetent and stupid man who did not call when he was lost. I was outside and saw him…asked if he was looking for a delivery address and he said no. He then came back and went everywhere but here. Clearly marked address! He didn’t speak English. Don’t need it to read an address. But…I speak Spanish perfectly! I’m from Spain!!!! No excuse. He had my phone number…. Pick up! Eat there. Delivery will bring cold food. Wasn’t the same entirely ruined…

Very nice meal at JDAO you can’t go wrong here, lettuce wraps, dumplings gyoza, dragon roll, sashimi and more. Service was great. Oh the saki great…

What can I say other than amazing service, food and a very attentive server. She was spot on with her suggestions and spaced out the dishes appropriately so that they didn’t arrive all at the same time. The Hamachi was delicate, spicy and absolutely delicious. The sushi/ sashimi was so fresh, it melted in your mouth. We also had the eggplant with ground chicken that we dove in and forgot to take a picture of .. A great experience… Thank you for a great meal

I recently dined here, and I must say, it was a delicious experience! Despite its simple decor, the restaurant more than makes up for it with its generous portion sizes and flavourful dishes. From the moment we arrived, the service was prompt, and we didn't have to wait long to be served. The freshness of the food was evident in every bite, and each dish was bursting with authentic Thai and sushi flavors. I ordered miso soup, edamame, avocado roll, veggie roll, and a veggie tofu pad Thai. While it may not be the most visually stunning place, the food speaks for itself. *Sorry…No food photos were taken this time, we were so hungry we devoured everything so quickly before I remembered to take images.

Food came out fast, but was salty. Service was just ok - but there’s a mandatory 18% service fee, where there was no flexibility with choosing spicy levels of dishes

Food was great! We ordered carry out Chicken Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken, Pork Potstickers, and Thai Lettuce Wraps. Everything was very fresh and hot. Chicken was tender in all dishes. Lettuce wraps had generous lettuce but not a tremendous amount of the delicious chicken. One more “scoop” would’ve balanced out the wrap to chicken a bit better. We are travelers, but may even try another night with some other dishes. Pick up was friendly and fast (5+ minutes ahead of schedule). Atmosphere was clean, but in a shopping center so no stunning views but just great food!

Service was very bad, just because we reached there 30 mins before closing time after calling them to let them know that we are group of people coming there in the evening and the server was showing her face and not polite to the customer. Food was also bland and less salt and no sauce like traditional Thai restaurants usually have. Atmosphere was so dull and lights were so low. More than that the AC is not on. When it was closing time the AC was turned off when we were eating still. Overall If there is a negative rating, I would give a negative five star.

We went for the dinner. Their service were very poor, the food of the taste was blend. We were called & talked before going there. The lady server made angry face on us, not at all friendly. We strongly recommend, never go to this place. We had never ever had this much bad taste of Thai Food.

We stopped for dinner on our way back from key West. Since it was closing time, we definitely felt them rushing in their service, preparation, and overall experience. The service was TERRIBLE, the food was overprice, little quantity, and VERY bland.

My sister and her husband are local and they like it. I wasn't impressed with my chicken pad Thai. Their dishes looked good. I loved the Thai tea. The service was great, they brought them tea without even having to order because they are regulars. Update-second trip the curry is great! My bother in law had the red and gave me a taste, yumm. I had the other one and it was great too.

It's not the prettiest shop, and it's really cold for a European (like everywhere in Florida) but the food tastes delicious and authentic! We were there twice and were very satisfied both times. Attention: 18% tip is already on the invoice.

We had late night dinner at J-Dao while traveling back from Keywest to Miami. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Generally, kitchens are closed at 30 mins before the closing time but They took our order just 15 mins before closing time. Pad Thai, vegetable Sushi and Thai Fried Rice were delicious. Definitely recommend.

This was my first and last trip to J Dao. The staff was nice and the restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere but neither of those things could make up for how overpriced and bad the food was. They don't make any basic maki, so I ordered a vegetable roll which was supposed to have eggplant, daikon, and avocado. It came with lettuce, carrot, and avocado. When I asked about it, I was told they don't have eggplant anymore, but it was still on the menu and that the ORANGE pieces of vegetable were daikon. Daikon is white. It costs $8.95. I don't understand why they felt they could just substitute items out of my vegetable rolls without letting me know or asking. If they run out of tuna, would they just substitute krab without saying anything? I also got a vegetable stir fry. It was $15.95 and tasted exactly like a $6 chow mein from a cheap Chinese food place and not a Thai stir fry. My husband got chirashi, which is sashimi over sushi rice in a bowl. J Dao did not use sushi rice but just plain white rice, so no vinegar or flavor. Of the 6 types of sashimi: it was tamago (omelet), shrimp, krab, tuna, salmon, and escolar and cost $24 for the portion. For comparison, Num Thai charges $20.50 for chirashi with 8 types of sashimi and actual sushi rice. We should have just kept traveling North to Num Thai on Key Largo rather than settling on a spot that was closer.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. Food we ordered were all very good 👍 if you needed some tasty food, this place is it.

I ordered one of the curries for the lunch special and it was spectacular! The lunch special is a great deal AND the portions are great. It was super easy to order from their website and I liked that there wasn't an expensive service charge :)

This was my first time eating sushi. I'm not particularly a fan of sushi but i really enjoyed the California roll with rice paper. And the shrimp fried rice was good. Loved the crab rangoons. And the Japanese donuts

Never had thai food before but what I had was good and good service

Delicious food and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back. Edit: J-DAO is my favorite sushi restaurant. It has become a date night spot for my husband and I. We go at least once or twice a month.

Just had an absolutely amazing dinner at this hidden gem! We had a huge assortment of sushi/sashimi and sushi apps. Everything was fresh and delicious. (Crispy Tuna and Love Formula we’re our favorites.)We unfortunately didn’t try any of the authentic Thai meals but will most definitely be returning to do so! Highly recommend!

We got the Chirashibowl, the eggplant lover, pad thai, a sushi roll with eel and the fried bananas for 4 of us. Eggplant lover was my favorite dish but all were pretty decent. Banana dessert was really good too. Skip the pad thai. Reasonable prices for the keys. Would go again.

Generous fish portions in the sushi!

Food was very good. We had gyoza for an appetizer, red curry, massaman curry, and cashew nut chicken. All were very good. The staff was helpful and friendly. It was clean and comfortable inside.

Stay away!!! Will get food poisoning!!!! I would give this repulsive restaurant a negative 5 stars if they had the option. Definitely does not deserve 1 star. If you enjoy feeling deathly Ill, eat here. My daughter went to this restaurant last evening for an early dinner. What a huge mistake!! She ordered a Thai tea, a garden salad with peanut dressing, and a sunrise roll for dinner. After dinner she ordered Thai doughnuts, and while eating them she started feeling nauseous. She paid her bill and went to the nearby grocery store. Upon arrival she started vomiting and felt horribly sick. She grabbed a couple things and drove home a mile and a half away. She called me to advise as I was out for dinner with my husband. I asked what she ate so that I could call the restaurant and advise what she ate so that they could pull that food and not get other customers in the community sick. Instead, the man that answered the phone heard what happened and then asked me what I need. I repeated what happened to my daughter and he said "no, other customers eat the same thing and do not get sick and he hung the phone up on me. Now, I simply said she had sushi and a salad and he did not care to ask what sushi roll, salad or anything else. Just in essence called me a liar and rudely hung up on me. Unbelievable. I was not calling for the purpose of a refund, but wanted to prevent others from getting sick. Never ever eat at this disgusting place!!! By far the best Thai and Sushi restaurant is Num Thai!! The food is always fresh, absolutely delicious, very affordable and the servers are very kind and friendly. Far cry from this miserable food poisoning establishment!!

Oh my goodness but it was phenomenal. We tried several starters all great. Sushi was fantastic and Sashami was great.

I really hate leaving bad reviews but after my experience I felt compelled to. Ordered pad thai to go from the website, I asked for level 1 spicy. I couldn’t eat the food it was SO SO spicy. I called the restaurant to ask for a remake, and the man he told me he made it mild, and said I was out of luck. I had to plead for him to remake it. When I went to pick it up I brought my original dish back. I was treated with such unprofessionalism. I understand mistakes happen and that is why I asked for a replacement, but the rudeness from the staff was shocking. The food isn’t bad, but they made a mistake with the dish and handled it poorly. Truly horrible customer service, I’ve never experienced anything like it.

Really excellent lunch. The sushi lunch combo a was fantastic, as was the cashew chicken and drunken noodles. They had gluten free items marked on the menu.

I am hoping the food is good. I have been waiting here for quite a while. I think I would have got my food faster if I had ordered when I arrived. Going on 25 minutes now, and aside from 2 tables the place is quiet. I’d skip “to go”at this place. Also and FYI. Gratuity may be added on a party of 2 or more. YES- TWO!!

I have eaten here since they opened and I hate to leave a bad review but I spent $60 on dinner for only myself and I gotta sat it was TERRIBLE. My to go order was wrong, had to go back then what I picked up (tempura app) was still gooey on the inside. Had to ask for another chop stick, wasabi, the correct sauce. And after all that I only got 1 napkin! Sounds silly I know but after the cost and inconvenience and the sliding down hill slope of my last few visits I wont be going back. I will drive the extra 8 miles to the farther place.

Very flavorful food at reasonable prices, sweet, kind attentive server, Johnny, and nice atmosphere Best Tom Yum Goong soup I've had in recent memory. All entrees were tasty too! Highly recommend!

My favorite sushi place in the Keys, the sushi is fresh & so delicious! My absolute favorite roll is the Lucy Roll! Also, the employees are very friendly & helpful! This is definitely a must have when we’re in the Keys!!

Gyoza is an amazing starter! Drunken Noodles were delicious. And everyone tried each other’s sushi because they were so good and fresh!

I went here with 4 other degenerates and I really enjoyed the food. I got 3 sushi rolls that according to degenerate A was the same as my other rolls, but I disagree. Overall the service was good, im not a huge fan of pop in a can. The waitress can't speak English well, but I really enjoyed talking to her (she was great) The dragon roll and lico chips were sensationalable. A++ sushi and Thai restaurant.

Having grown up in Thailand, I KNOW Thai food. I think this place is great! They even had great sashimi - which I don't remember being very Thai, but hey - I'm always looking for good sushi & sashimi. I will make this place a regular stop when looking for authentic Thai food and sushi - a great combo! Nice people too. Thank you! Update- here in 2022 and they were asking about masks. For me, that is an immediate no-go. Really? Three years now and we are going to follow this weird Biden- CDC bullsh*t? If we don’t stop the nonsense it will just continue to harm our children. Still, good food. I just want people to wake up.

Als wir zuerst das Restaurant betraten, wurden wir von einer hektischen Atmosphäre überrascht. Das Restaurant ist nicht wirklich schön von innen. Doch das Essen überzeugt vollkommen. Für ~15€ bekommt man hier eine große Portion Curry oder Sushi, welches sehr lecker und schön angerichtet ist. So gutes Essen für einen solch günstigen Preis sucht in dieser Umgebung nach würdiger Konkurrenz. Absolut empfehlenswert!

UGHHHH ITS SOOOO GOOOD !!!! First time eating edemame with GARLIC SAUCE it’s fantastic PHO AND RAMEN hands down AMAZINGGGGGGG!! tuna sashimi SUPER FRESH we’ve been to some fancy restaurants for tuna but here its not that expensive but its the best tuna sashimi in the keyss ! The young server with glasses is very nice ! And the other one dont talk much but stil very fast very good customer service! All in all 11/10 wil come back again if we go to the keys oh the thai tea is tasty 👅 very good too 🥹🥹🥹💖💖💖💖

This place does a solid job on sushi and Thai food. Sushi sashimi portions are reasonably priced and not skimping on portions regardless of recent price hikes in the world today. Chef Honda is a talented sushi chef that truly has a passion for his craft. If you give him the opportunity to make you a chefs choice roll he will blow you away. The staff is friendly and attentive, There is only a hand full of places to get sushi in the upper keys definitely give this one a shot 🤙.

Don't let the Thai / Sushi fool you! This place is very Thai and very good! Delicious thoughtful home style Thai food. The sushi apps we ordered were good but I personally would stick with the Thai dishes. The ground chicken and eggplant was amazing. The service was great. Can't wait to go back again and again.... and again!

Accidentally stumbled into this place after the nearby Chinese restaurant didn't have dinning. Great food, the pad Thai was spot on. Also the ambience and the cost of the food was great.

horrible food, the only thing i could eat was the edamame. the sushi was bad the noodle soups meat was like rubber, same for the meat of the pas swe yu (in sure im butchering the name)

We love sushi. And with Maki in Key Largo now closed, we had to find our new place. Second time here, and this is THE PLACE for us! AMAZING Duck Salad, rolls were big and delicious, and the sashimi platter was so fresh, with huge pieces of four types of fish. We can't wait to go back. Excellent service, kind and friendly staff. The only disappointment was that they ran out of cheesecake rolls - but that just means we'll have to go more often, and earlier to better our odds, lol.

Lettuce wraps and sushi was good as was service. Way to many people for comfort. We sat at the bar to stay away from people and a family of 5 squeezed themselves in at a table for 4 right behind us.

I can’t believe it took us so long to go here when it is only 2 miles from home and we love Thai. But that’s probably due to the fact that we love another Thai place which is our go-to. Well the food was delicious and the service very good considering it got busy after we arrived. The decor could be spruced up but not a big deal!

i mean who thinks of combining bacon, scallops, mango and guacamole ??? this place does! a hole in the wall which will make your tummy happy

Food was great service was meh. I want to say they were probably under staffed. The fish was super fresh man. Nice and cold with firm texture, man was it good!

Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were fantastic. Really hit the spot. Would go here again when craving some Thai food. Haven't tried the sushi but would be open to it on another visit.

The KZ roll is by far the best I've ever had. The chicken pad thai was delicious! And the Thai Basil is amazing!!

My husband and I very recently moved to Islamorada and were told that this was one of the best sushi restaurants around. I was so excited because there aren't a lot of options down here, coming from Miami and Fort Lauderdale which are available at every corner basically. For appetizers we ordered the duck salad and hamachi tiradito. Duck salad was fantastic! We ordered 6 different sushi rolls: Paradise, Yao Ming, Crispy Tuna, Love Formula, Double Rainbow, and Dragon. All absolutely delicious and so fresh! This is officially my go to sushi restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone who is a sushi lover!

I had a miso soup which wasn't very salty, nice. The ginger salad had a little too much dressing on it, but some people like it like that, so it was okay. I really enjoyed the Caliente roll because the asparagus gave it a nice crunch. Despite its name, it wasn't spicy, though. I also had a green tea that was very green in color and not sweetened. The food came out quickly and was tasty, but the restaurant owner needs to replace the chairs. They are old and worn. Overall, the food is the best part.

Over priced, over cooked (one dinner came burnt), small portions (especially for the price), extremely long wait (told us 20 minutes, took 45). Don't waste your time.

Wanted to have a nice sushi dinner and seeing that this place was highest rated in area I expected it to be nice . We got there walked in and was told to leave because they "didn't have any tables" my boyfriend went back in to ask for a wait time and thr guy said that he cant give us a table but there were other people there waiting... seems like discrimination to Me. Wish I could give this place 0 stars .
