I’m the 4th generation in my family to use Jacob’s andouille in my gumbo. It’s just simply the best out there.

I believe this is some of the best andouille! Great customer service. Variety of products such as andouille sausage, smoked chicken, smoked chicken sausage, smoked sausage, smoked leg quarters, hog head cheese, smoked turkey necks, and etc. Their smoked meats are game changers for Cajun dishes like gumbo, jambalaya, pastalaya, and etc.

Not only is the andouille I ordered fabulous, but these folks took the time to call and inform me that there were much cheaper shipping options available to me. Will 100% be doing business with them again. Thanks y'all

When living in Arizona, in the middle of the summer heat, we ordered a solid amount of sausages, jerky, and bacon to bring with on a camping trip in the rockies. It was utterly delightful to wake up, eat gourmet smoked bacon fresh from a campfire and watch the sun rise. The package arrived well packed, still very cool, and the customer service was top notch in answering all questions and concerns with shipping and heat. Thank you guys for the contributions to make a wonderful vacation and can't wait to order more!

I have an unbelievable story about the boundless generosity of this establishment that NEEDS to be known by anyone considering buying their andouille here. About 20 years ago, I was let go from my job at the hubcap factory in Denham Springs. No matter what I did, my hubcaps always came out too small and wouldn’t be secured tight enough when installed. My boss, a military man who knew hubcaps, had no choice but to let me go. I was angry and hurt, feeling like a failure. In spite, I decided if I couldn’t make things tight enough, I would dedicate myself to helping people loosen them. I ended up becoming a door-to-door hardware salesman, specializing in screwdrivers. I was interested in selling only the best: screwdrivers that produced enough torque and leverage to loosen ANY screw. I know that sounds ridiculous, and let me tell you - after a tough few weeks, I began to feel ridiculous too. Nobody cared about my product and I was having no luck. I had spent the measly savings I had leftover from my hubcap job on my sales stock, and was all in. If I couldn’t find a way to sell these screwdrivers, I would have to go home and face my wife and kids, admit my failure, and likely lose everything precious to me. I set a deadline for myself. If I couldn’t make a sale by the end of the week, I would spare my family the burden of my existence in this world by ending it. No matter where I went and what I tried, every single door was slammed in my face. Late afternoon on a Friday, I decided in a last act of desperation to try my luck at some businesses in Laplace along 61. After being turned down by countless businesses including even the Take 5 Oil Change, I decided I could muster up a smile to try one more location. I was guided to Jacob’s World Famous Andouille. With all the energy I had left, I gathered myself and pushed through the front door. Two minutes into pitching the owner, I felt like a heel. What was I doing here? They obviously had no need for what I was selling. I paused for a brief moment and then acknowledged “I’m sorry, I’m wasting your time.” I turned around to leave, and the owner called out to me. “Cole, wait. When I look into your eyes, I can see a dedicated, hard-working family man. That is something that should be revered and honored. I’ll tell you what - I’ll take everything you have right now. Just pull your truck up around the back.” I was stunned. With tears in my eyes, I searched for words to no avail. The owner went on. “You don’t need to say anything. I can tell these tools will serve a good purpose.” Flabbergasted, I stumbled out to my truck and pulled around the back. The owner wrote the check and handed it to me through the truck window. I unloaded my entire stock into their storage shed. After thanking them, I stepped back into my truck to pull away. “Hold up there, Cole. I have something to send you away with.” The owner called out to his son, whispered in his ear, and I watched in disbelief as he proceeded to load all of the screwdrivers I had sold him back into my truck. “Did you change your mind? Is this a joke?” “No. You can keep the money. I’d like to make a donation in kind to your business.” With my jaw on the floor, I watched as they not only gave back every new screwdriver, but they also contributed every screwdriver they owned - there must have been two dozen flatheads and a few crowbars as well. They did this without any thought of them being left without any screwdrivers for the time being. With a nod and a handshake, they sent me away with a new appreciation for humanity and the world we live in - and not to mention, some fresh andouille straight from the smoker. Jacob’s World Famous Andouille saved my self-esteem, my marriage, my family, and even my life. I’ve never seen such pure compassion. Also the product here is ok, I’d even say pretty good.

I'm sure the product here is ok, maybe even pretty good. I don't know what I do know is I never forgot that afternoon in 2003 when I caught a flat tire on my way home from school. I knew how to change my tire but my car had a hub cap on it that I couldn't get off with my bare hands. Since I pulled over in front of this business I went inside and asked if they had a flathead or anything I could use to pry the hubcap off. I was offered no assistance and was told no. I was embarrassed and had to sit and wait until my Military father had to come from an hour away just to simply help me pry the hub cap off. I never forgot this and I would hope this business has better compassion and customer service 20 years later.

Complete game changer got some andouille and some smoked chicken and some other smoked sausage to make a homemade gumbo, absolutely spectacular and I will never use any other sausage for my gumbos!!

I have been buying Jacob's andouille sausage for many years, it is the BEST. Today I purchased some of their hoghead cheese, it is terrible. Maybe the worst I have ever eaten. I strongly advise anyone to stick with the andouille sausage and leave the hoghead cheese alone. TERRIBLE !!! I gave 4 stars because the andouille is great just leave the hoghead cheese in their their cooler.

If you intend to cook authentic Louisiana gumbo, this is a must place for your Andouli. I called before we left the North shore to make sure they had plenty of Andouli. I was told that they had not run out in 30 years. They also have wonderful tasso, boudin, smoked sausage, smoked turkey, and smoked chicken. If you like to cook authentic Louisiana dishes, this is a must grocery stop. There is no substitute Jacob's Andouli. Everything freezes well.

World famous is an understatement! Honestly the best smoked andouille I have ever had. Every time I drive through here I have to stop and pick some up. The sausage and boudin is on point too! If you ever drive by here stop and do yourself a favor and pickup some of their offerings I promise you wont regret it.

Wow. Moved away from the Gulf Coast years ago and have been missing good Cajun sausage for my recipes. Found this place in what turns out is the Andouille capital of the world. Have been buying from them for 3 years now. 90 years in business and their expertise shows! I like to stock my freezer with their Andouille, tasso, and smoked pork sausage every year. Seriously, folks, this is simply the best and customer service and shipping to your door are second to none! 5 stars for the company. Trust me, your Cajun recipes will taste delectable and authentic if you use Jacob's sausage!

We really appreciate Jacob's with our last order. It was ordered 2-day air with UPS. Well UPS had several excuses as to why they couldn't meet the 2-day timeframe. The shipment was 7 days late. The sausage and tasso didn't fare well being lost for 7 days. I asked Jacob's if they thought the product would still be good. Without further explanation, Jacob's shipped me another order 2-day air. It arrived in 2 days. Jacob's went above and beyond with their customer satisfaction. It wasn't their fault but they took care of the customer. Thank you very much.

We are leaving for the holidays, and we wanted to pick up some smoked sausage, tasso, and andouille to take up north with us. And if you want andouille, you have to get to places on the andouille trail, which goes right through LaPlace. Jacob's did not disappoint, andouille, sausage and tasso smelled and looked great, so I wound up getting smoked chicken as well. Even then, what I purchased was just a small sample of the wonderful cornucopia of smoked meats!

I've been going here with my mom since i was little. As a child my mom would even gift items from here to family for Christmas. Most of our family has moved out town. I live in slidell now. I make a monthly trip. I love the smoked sausage, tasso, chicken sausage, smoked chickens. If i see a bag of cracklin we get to snack on our drive back. Love this little shop!!

If it's smoked, this place has it! Stopped in for some Andoille and ended up getting that and more. Could not be any happier with our choices. Their Andoille really has made our gumbo a notch better and our belts a notch tighter! Don't forget to try their Hog's Head Cheese.

The meats here are so flavorful and delicious. There is almost always a line and there is no wonder why. They also ship for those of us who had to leave the state.

It's a small place, but the andouille(sp) is really good. I bought andouille, smoked turkey legs, tasso, and other meats for cooking. When you put the meat in your food, it brings the dish to another level.

Hands down the best andouille in the world. This is a smoky, spicy and offer a coarser textured sausage that has a great mouth feel. It comes from a labor intensive cubing of the pork rather than grinding. I have been to the store several times and mail ordered many more, we have never been disappointed, ever!
