We have been many times. You are our place for joyous times and good food. Why are you leaving us? Where will you go? I have plenty of sadness but this news takes the cake…or bread pudding! There will not be any great restaurant in Richland, just some place that knows how to heat up whatever Sysco brings.

Always Great food and service. It is noisy due to the hard surfaces. Hard for someone with hearing issues (like me). Update: We had dinner tonight. As always, very good. They will be changing direction and merging with their sister restaurant South Kitchen soon. Hoping for great things.

The restaurant was a bit loud, and the food was pretty average for the price.

Whoa! Everything was "top shelf" delicious and good!! Reservations needed - it's worth the planning ahead! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff! This place won't disappoint! Heard they are merging with one of the other restaurants soon - hope they keep the same level of service and food! This place gets a 5 star plus from us!

Wow!! Easily one of the best meals I've had (anywhere) in a long time. Everything including the drinks and service was amazing. If I lived closer, I'd be back!

This place is a diamond in the rough. The location and exterior is modest and gives the illusion of the place being just another restaurant in a strip type mall. Well, the interior, staff, food and experience is anything but typical. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome right away. They were busy when we arrived but our waiter was good at keeping tabs on us. He was also very friendly and personable, which can make or break a place for us. The food choices are good. It’s not a place that has a million different things but what they have is excellent. The two dishes we picked were better than we expected. The flavors were there and the ingredients were clearly fresh with some possibly coming from their own outside raised garden. The price is a little on the higher side, but it’s worth it as we took some left overs home and had a second meal. They have a sister restaurant just down the road which is more of a country food place but looks just as delicious. It will be on our radar for sure. The place is definitely full of locals, who clearly know of this place. Definitely worth checking out.

This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. I have to get the Brussels sprouts every time.

One of the quaint locations in the Kalamazoo area, just minutes outside of downtown. Fantastic food and friendly folk with a flair for the Italian. Do yourself a favor and grab a pint to go with your pasta. You won't regret it. Top marks for the spicy sausage rigatoni.

1st timer. The atmosphere was fair…casual, not incredibly busy on a Friday night. That was a positive for me. Dim lighting, tables & chairs, no booths. There is a small bar upon entry. Our waitress was busy, but attentive. The brussel sprouts were a hit! Crispy, flavorful, and filling. I believe there was balsamic reduction drizzled atop- perfect finish!👌🏽 The stuffed peppers were a bit disappointing. The rice was not cooked well and the rice mixture itself lacked sauce. The cheese was a hard lid, instead of a fused melted medley. I also tried the housemade limoncello. Typically, limoncello’s have an intense lemon flavor, are smooth and sweet. I couldn’t find a strong lemon essence but it was sweet; It left an aftertaste, almost like Splenda. But it wasn’t bad. I had two glasses.

The food is fantastic. Brought my daughter for the first time. She loved it. I haven't been her for at least 6 months, and I was greeted like an old friend. Asked about my family. The owner makes me feel cherished. Sweet!

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise! It looks a bit non-discript on the outside, but inside it smells of wonderful food to come! Atmosphere is casual but it is a bit loud. We had excellent service and the food was wonderful! My only criticism of the food was the amount! Too much and couldn't eat it all! The garlic bread is fantastic, by the way! Would definitely give this place a try!!

We made the mistake of going on prom night, but that is not there fault. Had a little bit od a wait but was treated wonderfully by the hostess for our short wait. Wait staff was very nice and attentive. Food was excellent! Will be back.

Best food we have had in years!!! The street dip appetizer was amazing. Ordered the Mac and cheese and crispy chicken thighs for our entrees and those were even better then the appetizer. Highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure to call ahead for a reservation :)

The food was better than expected, amazing! The chocolate mocha cake is like a torte and also amazing! Waitress was friendly, and the only reason I gave a 4 is that everything took so long... food to come out, check to go. We saw tables turn over while we were there 2+ hours. Would recommend.

Clean restaurant, very friendly staff. The menu is not what I would call a family friendly selection. Prices were high for what they offered. A good adult restaurant, just not a place for kids.

It’s okay the food quality isn’t worth the price. The service was great but we won’t be back. It’s a made up experience that’s not true authenticity. The food wasn’t that great.

My husband took me here for my birthday. I was wary as it was in a strip mall, but was pleasantly surprised with the meal. Yum!

Food is always delicious and large servings. The place has a "clique" sense to it though. There are a lot of regulars that go and the staff are very outgoing and friendly to them, but a little cold and don't pay much attention to you if you are not one of the "regulars".

Always a great meal. For me this is the best restaurant in Kalamazoo.

First off… how can one not give this eatery and drinkery 5 ⭐️?! Aliza took great care of us. The food was hearty and the drinks cold and prompt. Remember that first time at your now regular joint? Gotta start somewhere.

Still a very good value for food and service. In a table of 6 everyone loved their food. My chicken prosciutto was decent but not my favorite at the table. It was a little too salty for me and did not have a delicious sauce like everyone else’s. Good quality but be sure to anticipate a well seasoned chicken with a lot of pickled cappers, artichoke hearts, and prosciutto. All of which added to the saltiness.

Absolutely amazing food. We are from Boca Raton where 5 star restaurants are everywhere. This place is a “sleeper” with outstanding food that is one of the best places I’ve ever eaten at. Wow

The food was fantastic! I had the steak and it was the best I've had in years. The Ceasar Salad was crisp and tasty. The Service was outstanding.

This restaurant does it right! Stephanie could not have been more kind from the moment we arrived. The food was amazing and our server Eliza was delightful. She made sure we were pleased with everything from our drinks to dessert.

We’ve had take out a few times and it was great. It’s always busy, they do prefer reservations, which did not have. Only waited 5-10 minutes. Really nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, excellent food, portions were very generous. Excellent experience.

Very good food!! Service was sub par. Bartender was our waitress, waited far to long for service! Maybe let the bartender be only the bartender. May not be back just because of that!!

Absolutely love this place!! The food is outstanding! I recommend the Kitchen House salad with grilled chicken added, the Chicken and Mushroom Penne Pasta, the Mac and Cheese, Brussel Sprouts, the Salmon and Bread Pudding. Really you just can’t go wrong with anything! ☺️ The staff and service have always been great too.

Service, service, service. We felt like we were actual guests! Food was great! Spicy Rigatoni with Sausage was what a couple of us had and it was perfect. Thank you Kitchen House for a very enjoyable family dinner!

The best little restaurant in SW Michigan. Jennifer and Paul Dykstra make going there something to look forward to. We are never disappointed, and ALWAYS welcomed by their awsome staff. Stephanie, Pierre and everyone else loves working there ....and it SHOWS. In a world where it seems there is so much negativity, Kitchen House of Richland has somehow managed to stay heads and shoulders above the crowd

Visiting Kalamazoo College from Los Angeles and someone recommended this place. Kitchen House owes nothing. Our party of six was satisfied in every possible way. The seating was fast, spacing was comfortable, service was great and the food was AMAZING!! Every single dish was phenomenal, prepared perfectly and super hearty portions. Would definitely return and highly recommend. 5+ stars Kitchen House!

We have eaten here three times this summer(2021) food, service has been outstanding, one of our favorites in the southwest Michigan area. The food here is very good, fresh, nice portions etc. The house salad with the homemade garlic dressing is really outstanding. Now for the not so good, service and atmosphere. The service was painfully slow with way to much time between salad and main course. One person in our party ordered the side vegetable and it never arrived until she was 1/2 or mostly done with her main course when the owner/host brought it to the table he just put it down and walked away with no explanation or apology. It was removed from the bill but it was the attitude that was disturbing. Atmosphere, way to noisy needs some kind of sound absorbing materials. UPDATE: Jennifer Dykstra, owner of Kitchen House, contacted me in December concerned with how our party was treated. She was very apologetic and concerned. She has invited us back when we return from our winter home. Jennifer, thank you for your concern.

Hands down, best food in the area. Service is always great, drinks are well made, and the desserts never disappoint.

I'm not going to say anything new or different from the majority of others - food is fresh, well prepared and delicious. Food, drinks, and staff are all well above average. Call ahead if you want a table, they're usually full for dinner on any given night.

Our client chose Kitchen House as it is a favorite of his, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The reservation was perfect, the service was exquisite, and the food and bourbon was so good and family style servings ensured we all enjoyed a little of everything!

There are no words to describe how amazing the food and service are at this place. Staff was courteous, polite, and professional from the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out. Salmon was perfectly prepared, flourless mocha cake was absolutely divine, and the cherry Coke was spot on! A five star rating for this place is nowhere near enough. Definitely looking forward to going back again!

Incredible food! There's a reason that mac is award winning 👏 👏👏 & the ice cream pie was delicious, sounds simple, but is actually really great & they change the flavor so it's not always the same! Also had a bite of the pork tenderloin & let me tell you, it was TENDER!! So soft it was like biting into butter 😍 Also recommend the fried brusselsprouts 👌 This is a excellent hole in the wall place- if you're looking for a unique place to go in the area, this is is a must!

Best restaurant in Kalamazoo by far. Best food I've had even from eating in places like Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, San Diego... Kitchen House takes the cake. Love that they cater to dietary restrictions too.

Definitely one of our favorites! Kitchen House Salad (big enough to share) and Brussels are a must. Then choose from their amazing main dishes.

First time at The Kitchen House and will return. The meal was remarkable, Crispy chicken and Penne and chicken, both gluten free and delicious, will return!

We went to Kitchen House tonight with our son and daughter-in-law. Food was excellent! Service was great - thank you Emily! This was our first time dining in in quite a while since onset of COVID and everything was great. We will definitely return when we come back for another visit.

I have never had a bad meal or bad service and have gone many times. The wine selection is great. Highly recommend the mozzerella appetizer, the rigatoni rosa and the chicken thighs.

Kitchen House catered my smaller "plan B due to Covid" wedding and they were by far my favorite vendor to work with. Customer service was above and beyond. Every dish was incredible, and I love that the crispy chicken agrodolce is gluten free and still tastes amazing! That and the balsamic brussel sprouts were the most highly reviewed among guests but every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. I encourage everyone to eat at Kitchen House as frequently as possible, and if you can book them to cater an event please do so. The prices were way more reasonable than other wedding caterers I'd quoted with and tasted, and food/ service were far superior.

So my husband and I have heard about this place so many times. Due to Covid, we got "take out" from there tonight. I ordered Pork Tenderloin, and my husband got a chicken dish. It was SO LITTLE food. I received (for $21) SEVEN...yes SEVEN green beans and a couple slices of red onion...and maybe 4 oz of pork tenderloin. That was it! It was probably less then $5 worth of food and I was really hungry! It tasted good but honestly I could have had just as good of a meal from a Lean Quizine frozen meal. And please understand...I don't expect quality restaurants to give me gigantic portions...but 7 green beans...COME ON!!!

Always love this place! The food is wholesome and delicious. They use local vendors and farms whenever possible and the love shows in their food. Thank you for bringing such a wonderful dining experience to our small town.

They have a lot of good appetizers, but main plates are pretty limited and are a lot of pasta dishes. Very expensive for what it is. They have a nice atmosphere though.

Dined here on a Saturday evening and will definitely come back. Everything we ordered was superb and the service was great. Easily some of the best food in the area.

The food was very good with generous entrées so you can easily have lunch for the next day. My meal included both the street bread and the bread pudding and they were both amazing! Unfortunately, their location doesn't include any outdoor dining and is small, though it is still a nice atmosphere. I hope they will be changing locations, but I'll be a repeat customer regardless.

First time at the Kitchen House, first time out since quarantine. Felt safe with the Covid-10 precautions they took - tables more than 67 feet apart, even those at bar were seated at least 6 foot apart; staff were masked, tables were cleaned just before we were seated. As it was our first time, we decided to eat the menu - for our app with had Chicken liver mousse - so light and tasty. We order another starter of fresh mozzarella and prosciutto - unbelievably good combination of melted cheese and salty ham served with fresh tomato and crostini. The Caesar Salad was big enough to split and so authentic. Real anchovies in the dressing and just enough of it. The entree (Chicken with sage, artichokes, prosciutto) and side (capellini with spicy sausage) were just as good. So we haven't been out in months - but we have had good food, and this is about the best. Price was so reasonable. Delicious from the first to the last bite. We would have had dessert, but were stuffed. Not worried, because we will be back. No photos because we were so into our food. Next time . . .

Due to the Covid 19 we had to order take out. Was a little concerned about the way the food was going to be coming home in a box. On that note, this was by far, the finest take out order we have experienced during the entire government imposed lock down! Thank you Kitchen House for the Wonderful Dinner!

The Kitchen House is serving Take Out for lunch and dinner. Get the Chicken Thigh sandwich with chips for lunch and you will have enough for dinner. Your tummy will thank you. Paul, Jennifer and all the staff deserve our support during this crazy time. Let's keep this local gem open!

I love the chicken and mushroom penne! It was a huge serving.

So this weekend I had a carry-out order of the mac and cheese and it was oily and peppery for the price I wouldn't order it again I did try the spinach dip I liked that. I have never gone back to pricey

Best Mac & Cheese of my entire life!!!!! This title doesn’t come easy, but I feel like I could eat this for every meal. I have never had a bad meal here and staff is so friendly!

Friendly staff, calm atmosphere, full bar with many local beers on tap. Fabulous fresh food, and great menu options. Call and make reservations, they fill up quickly. Tip: the "sids" are huge and enough for multiple people. I was full before my meal came but enjoyed everything about my experience.
