This place NEVER disappoints. Food is hot and fresh. Kim is one of the most down to earth, humble people I have ever met in my life. Her food is amazing with huge portions. The chicken was very good. Yams, were tasty. The dressing was either made with Jiffy mix or someone dropped the sugar bowl and it was crumbling. The eggs to bind it had to be missing. I have never had sweet dressing. I'm from MS so maybe the sugar is a city thing. The customer service was no where to be found. Rude to say the least. Will try again but chicken and yams only.

I am vegan and by Gosh thoroughly enjoyed a plate filled with veggies. My daughter got the smothered turkey wings and was more than satisfied. This place a nice hike from the university but worth every mile!

We arrived there about 3:00 pm on a Friday. The building is a small stand alone structure with Kim's on one side and a seafood business on the other end. There is a wooden open air porch with a roof at the entrance and there was a line of folks spilling out to the porch where we got in line. Once inside, there was no air conditioning and the wait area had 2 small tables, one had two chairs the other table was condiments. You continue to wait in line until you get to the order counter. At that time we ordered two dinners, one was fried chicken with collard greens and sweet yams, the other was baked chicken with collard greens and black-eye peas. Both dinners came with a generous piece of corn bread. The restaurant served the dinner in take-away styrofoam divided containers. There is only one table in the waiting area with two chairs so it's not a place to have a sit-down dinner. My wife and I both agreed that they gave generous portions, the corn bread was excellent and the food we ate rated as average. The price per dinner for our selection was $18.50, which we felt was appropriate. The cons were they ran out of their menu offerings, long lines and an uncomfortable wait in the heat of the day. Kim's open at 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and you need to get there early to have the best chance of getting a good selection from the menu.

Bangin food, i got 5 pieces of chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens, yellow rice, cornbread and a water for like $16 or something, literally the best collard greens ive ever had and by alot, yellow rice with gravy was gas, everything else was very good. Im goin back to beg for the recipe cuz im not from here and worried i wont get to have them ever again. looks like a hole in the wall but we all know those are the best places. Edit: just throwing this up after checking in on this restaurant and reading bad reviews, Kim is an amazing woman, she gave me the recipe to her collard greens because of how much I wanted to know about it. I will never tell a soul cuz you all don’t deserve it. Anyone saying she is rude is a local business trying to rob her business. Get over the fact that she runs out of her best dishes, it’s cuz they’re all fantastic and you should get there earlier you bums. Her employees are not rude either it’s all lies. Just wish I took pics while I was there to show how fire her food really is.

I do understand everyone have different tastes buds, but as an Executive Chef the food was to salty, I also send some friends over before I wrote a review to make sure it was not just me. They needed water ASAP sorry but for 50 bucks for two no thank you.

This was our first stop for lunch on our first day and Phil was right! We got there before it opened and there was already a line. Kim opened the door and welcomed us all in. The portions were massive and to say the food was “great” doesn’t seem adequate enough to describe the meal we had. We had the smothered meatloaf with rice, collards and cabbage and baked chicken. Everything was delicious!

First off who ever created the Instagram video terrible lied about the RED Velvet CAKE dry dry sugar icying nothing tasteful about that I had better trust me, Banana pudding stomach hurts I give it 4( the black eye peas very SALTY very SALTY but hi that what we black folks like🤣 Mac cheese noodles over cooked I give it a 4, green beans I give it 8 - baked chicken no love in the chicken through some chicken broth and flower and made gravy your pick through the chicken I give it a 3( when I got home I was over charge by 20 dollars seriously 20 dollars. They give you a lot of food so that you want pay attention to what you being charge " again black folks as long as it a lot it's good for me.

Food is always delicious! You can tell Ms. Kim has a passion for food as many times as I’ve been there it’s never been an off day. Her food is consistently on point. The meatloaf, pork chops, mac & cheese, cabbage, and cornbread are my favorites. If you love good food you definitely should stop by. You will not be disappointed.

We loved the soul thai fusion Ms. Kim creates. We wanted to try the meatloaf and smothered chicken, but everything was gone except the smothered porkchops, so we made do. We also tried the sweet potato, collard greens, white and yellow rice, mac and cheese, and Cabbage. The meal came with fresh cornbread too. We should've gotten one dinner plate because we ordered too much to try. It was delicious. But please get here early when they open or you will have slim pickens like us. We traveled to eat here because we saw "Somebody Feed Phil" and knew we had to come try it out. Not disappointed in flavor, but wish we could've tried more.

When we learned about this place, we knew we had to visit. And the food did not disappoint! We ordered two dinner plates and really should have just gotten one to share, the portions were huge! But great value for the price. Wonderful southern cooking from a master at her craft! Make sure to go early because they do sell out of food.

Mrs.kim is a awesome woman a mother, grandmother a woman that puts a lot of love and soul in the food that she prepares for everyone that visits her restaurant she makes you feel like you are sitting at your very own kitchen table I would recommend everyone that's looking for a home cooked meal made with love to pay kookin with Kim's a visit you won't be disappointed..

I am giving this rating on TODAYS purchase ONLY.... This Being my second time having the food here I have to admit my expectations were high....My very first order was really good. Today I ordered the Turkey Wings, White rice and collard greens and disappointed does not begin to describe how I felt. The Turkey Wings were not well seasoned and beyond dry. I attempted to eat one of them, but ended up throwing it and the remaining wing in the garbage. Todays visit was meh. :(

First-time visitor. The food was very good. I got the hog maws with rice, mac n cheese, and collard greens. You also get huge portions of food. I have enough food for another day or 2. The location is on the main road so I suggest to park on the side road so you have an easier time getting out.

This place was just around the corner from my work and I didn't even know it. A coworker and supervisor told me how good the food was and I decided to give it a try for lunch. I got the lunch special for 12.99 plus tax. It included 6 pieces of baked chicken and yellow rice plus Mac n cheese. I wasn't expecting a piece of corn bread as well. Only ate half for lunch and will eat the rest later today. Excellent food. I ordered online because I heard it would be busy and yes it was. Will be going back for more.

I drove there today from Deltona, and the drive was well worth it. I recommend Crimson Tide, Steelers75, and even you Dallas Cowgirl fans go. Ms. Kim and staff are wonderful. The food is the bomb , they gave me a taste of the ribs, I licked my fingers for 28 miles home. They give you enough for two people on one plate. I recommend that you get your own. I got home, sat by the pool, broke out a cold one, and got some hot sauce for collar greens that had meat in it, corn bread, and momma homemade mac and cheese. Forget the napkins you want need them. All you Veterans, Mason's, Eastern Stars, Omega's, everyone go to Kim's, and take your neighbors to Kim's. I'm going back next weekend.

Today was my first experience to Kook'n With Kim and I would recommend others to visit. I was overwhelmed by the taste of a good homestyle meal and by the portion size. Please don't believe the hype. The Salmon patties were paper thin and very salty. Definitely had to throw away. The Mac and Cheese has hardly even flavor, and the oxtails were also too salty. I love Kim, but maybe it's different cooks, for different days. It's definitely not the same like, the good ole days.

First time customer and was very disappointed with horrible customer service. The owner spoke rudely to employees and customers. I will not be returning.

Over the last 2 years I've been saving restaurants/Cool Places to check out in my Google maps app. That can be anywhere near Orlando, around Florida, or wherever state I travel to! After saving like 300+ restaurants, I made the decision to start trying something new at least once a week that isn't fast food or just highly processed stuff. Today, I started with Kookn W Kim here in Orlando/winter park area! To simply put it, it tastes just like home. Every bite I took, took me through some childhood memories of my grandma Hazel Lyons or Matty Young cooking some of the best southern cooking. Even the meals my parents have cooked me throughout my life (Curtis Lyons / Katrina Lyons) The black eyed peas was spectacular. It wasn't mushy at all. Still had some texture. The light chicken & yellow rice was a perfect combination with the peas. I just mixed that bad boa up with the peas and I was set. The Mac n cheese????? SHEEEEEEIT tasted like my mom's top tier mac n cheese. In my family, I used to be known as a Mac n cheese connoisseur. I remember vividly, going to my Aunty Felicia Hodge house as a kid and she had me try her Mac n cheese before the family reunion to see if it was good or something needed to be changed. Can't believe she trusted me lololol The chicken was well seasoned all around. Wasn't dry at all. Crispy and juicy! I love me a good thigh and them thighs were thigh'n lololol I tried the red velvet cake and boa it tasted like good 🐈‍⬛ 😂😂😂😂 I haven't had a good red velvet cake in YEEAAARSSSS so this was refreshing. Without the cake, everything was under $20 ... Which is CRAZY. I couldn't eat it all. This is two meals in one. 9.5/10 ... I knocked .5 off cause there was no ac in that muhg lololol ... I can't have this TOO often but it's an excellent cheat. CHECK THEM OUT! You won't be disappointed 🖤

All I can tell you is that I work for a MOT company and when we go for lunch this is the spot to be. You can order ahead which makes it easier on line or by their app. The food is always fresh and seasoned just right. My first time tasting it I had to ask if my Grandma came back to the living and was in the back flipping them pots.

Food was on point! Who i assume were the owners were so nice when i met them. Not allot of seating but it was still fine, more of a grab and go type of vibe but still was nice to just have a seat to enjoy the meal. I've been coming to Kim's since I first moved to florida. I love soul food and have tried every place here in Orlando. Most are not good or average but Kim she put love in her food. This is the best soul food in Orlando from her delicious gravy to her amazing banana pudding. This place is a must try. My favorite on the menu is her meatloaf one of the best. I recommend going on her website and placing an order so that you can just come and pick it up without having to wait on the line because one thing about Kim's place is there is always going to be a line we keep supporting this grateful like this needs to stay in Eatonville

Absolutely amazing!!! Food was so flavorful, portion sizes are massive, prices are affordable. Ms. Kim came out of the kitchen to talk to us and she is so kind and welcoming! 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone who has a mouth and likes to eat. Thank you Ms. Kim and everyone working today! (I got the turkey lunch, yellow rice, black eyed peas. Couldn't even eat half of it because it was just never ending yumminess!)

This is a great small business that has great food and great workers. I had the meatloaf dinner with white rice, collard greens, and mac and cheese. Also, I had to get the homemade pound cake. There is always a line, but that is a good thing. That means they are doing something right to always have a line. So if you want great soul food, then this is the place to go. Beware after eating, you will get the itis.

My family got food poisoning husband and 3 children the the chicken never disappoints but the greens and Mac was completely off . I don’t like putting black business down but I’m up dealing with my whole being sick and throwing up everywhere mostly the Mac . I should’ve listen to my babies and left we stood in line for a full hour.

I drove out to Eatonville today to try the food at Kook'n with Kim. I must say the smotherd meatloaf did not disappoint. It was delicious! I had it with yellow rice, Mac and cheese, green beans, and corn bread and OMG everything was amazing! I ordered one order and it was enough for my husband and I to share 😋 I will definitely be going back 😊

This is the real deal folks. I'm so happy to have a good Soulfood restaurant in the Orlando area. This is a small take-out restaurant. They have one person fixing your food order and one cashier, so it takes a while to get your food. Although, ALL of the food looks good, I always get the same thing when I go, Ribs served on Fridays, collard greens and candied yams. The Only complaint I have is the young girl that dishes up the food just says NEXT when she's ready for the next customer. It would sound a little more customer friendly if she says something like, " I can help the next customer".

Just make sure you are hungry 😋 They don't shake the spoon for sure! It's 🔥 food too so I HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone who hasn't been there!

First off, great food. Very tasty southern style cooking. This place is more for take out rather than dining. It's a small place and when we went around noon on a Sunday we waited 30 minutes in line for carryout. Only about 10-12 people in front of us but the service itself is slow. Next time I'll try the deserts but the chicken and mac and cheese is great. Large portions.

The amount of food that I got was also unbelievable, there was so much in the box and my favorite was definitely the collard greens. I WILL be back! I highly recommend!

OMG!!!
