The best Mexican food in North Fl. Excellent service and atmosphere. Menu is typical Mexican but better than any I’ve ever had. Family friendly. Highly recommended

Improvements are abound, food is good service friendly, parking is a little tough but areas top traditional Mexican cuisine.

We were looking for lunch near Green Cove springs and found this little spot located inside a Hispanic supermarket. Everyone loved their food! Our waitress Antonia was a sweetheart.

This was my first & last time visiting La Casita. The entrance was a little confusing because you walk into a small store then go through the store into the restaurant next door. My food was waiting for me upon my arrival. I ordered the lunch chicken chimichanga with rice and beans. I got back to work only to realize they gave me beef and the chimichanga is half the size and flat not round like other local Mexican restaurants. Was not impressed and can’t comment on how the food tastes as I don’t eat red meat. They did refund me my money. I’ll stick to Mariachis down the road they are better imo.

Legit looked like I was in the hood doors entrance confusing, I ordered faitajs and my god no meat at all like legit no meet it was legit unions and celontro no meet! I left this spot and took my family to taco way in Jacksonville same price ten times better environment and food was the best honestly for a Hispanic restaurant this is garbage it’s embarrassing to serve this! Taco way is arabic owned and definitely makes your authentic food look garbage we were still hungry and look at the difference they had no cheese on my plate taco way is the way to go!! Had plenty of meat and cheese was melted so good! How can you say you’re Hispanic when you can even serve lime you guys are legit broken down! It’s all about money imo go back to a 9-5 this is trash first ones there second one is taco way and it had so much steak under the cheese it’s not even funny! Also taco way is 90% from scratch not no microwaved tortias

Ordered a take out for a company function. One of the orders had all the sides but was missing chimichanga. When I called to let them know they told me I am lying. And they will only start to make another if I come back-which I was planning on doing anyway as I had to pick it up. The whole staff was unprofessional. Also the other food quality and portions were subpar. Will not return!

I asked for cheese dip with my to go order, and I got a tiny little container. Like 0.3 ounces of “cheese dip”. What stupid idiot does that? Since they are obviously cheap idiots we won’t be going back.

We have been going in this restaurant for more than a decade now, it never change in their recipes. Same as always, delicious. We pretty much tried almost in their menu. Burritos, Al pastor Tacos, Supreme Quisadillas, Carne Asada and Fajitas are always our go to. Their Chilli Relleno is phenomenal, the specialty dinners are exquisite 👌. Always love the homemade salsa with chips. Friendly staff always. Great service. They actually expanded the restaurant is now much bigger. Highly recommend it!

Our waitress was very personable. The food was delicious, the service excellent and we were lucky to have been in the restaurant when they had a wonderful Mariachis band. It was a great experience.

Everything was good but I would have liked them to return to the table to ask questions more often…I felt forgotten and the micheladas were too small otherwise they tasted good

BEST Mexican restaurant in town!

We would go back. It's a perfect mom and pop Mexican Restaurant. It was a little slow but luckily we weren't in a hurry. The are restyling the place. We look forward to seeing it soon.

This is the best Mexican food.I've ever had a very fresh taste sting. Loved it all.I liked it so much.And going back the next day i'm off. Food was very fresh. Staff was very friendly.

We stopped in a few nights ago and let’s just say it began well and ended horribly. The staff was welcoming when we entered. We entered around 6:30 and were seated right away. The waitress made her way over about 15 minutes later. It was immediately clear that she didn’t want to there. In fact, it wasn’t just our table, she disappeared from our entire section. A different associate brought out our food some time later. The food was cold and lacked flavor. More importantly one of the plates had a sour taste and bad smell from the meat so it was definitely not so safe to eat. We had to ask another waitress from a different section for assistance in returning the plate. That waitress made a comment to us about taking notice of our waitress ignoring our section. She apologized about the plate and said she would return it to the kitchen. No one came back to check in so this went unresolved. After waiting another 20 minutes we asked for our check. The waitress finally came back at the end to hand us the check and only saying 2 words “Thank you”. She never even mentioned the fact that one person from our table never had any food. Needless to say we will not be returning.

This is a great restaurant! If you have not been I highly recommend! I go here once a week and it is hamds down the best authentic Mexican food you can get and they got a neat little grocery side now also! Definitely worth a try! I recommend the chicken burrito, pollo fundido, and queso and chips, there salsa and chips are amazing also

I wandered in here and they happen to have Birria tacos on special. All I can say is 🤯 did I ever get lucky!!! Sooooo delicious. I’ve been back a couple times and each time it’s good authentic Mexican and they have a cute little tienda!!

La Casita has the best authentic Mexican food in North Florida. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Our favorites are the fajitas and molcajete. I'm including a pic of the molcajete below. Everyone there is SO NICE! We bring our 5 and 6 year olds there and make them use their Spanish (which consist of like four words). With the great food, friendly service and good prices, this is our go-to restaurant when we decide to eat out. You can even walk to it from Spring Park. highly recommend you give it a try.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food and some good drinks, then this is the spot for you. We ordered horchata and Modelo Especial with lime, and the carne asada burritos with rice and beans. The kids got kids size burritos and rice and beans. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. It had so much flavor. I’m from California and live in Florida now, so I’m always on a lookout for authentic and delicious Mexican food. This is it guys. I will drive from St. Augustine where we live just to eat here for dinner. I also love the little Mexican market they have authentic treats, foods, and drinks available for purchase. I let my kids get some tamarind candy on a spoon that they loved and some mango with chile and lime. The daughter of the family who owns the market restaurant was very nice and told us about some of the candy. I can’t wait to go back!!

Ordered pick 2 dish Burrito and quesadilla. The burrito was like half a burrito and the quesadilla was more like a very small soft taco. More like a lunch portion of food. Service was terrible. Won’t be back!!

Ordered on Uber. Not only did they forget to make my order causing the order to be almost an hour late. But the food was disgusting. Nachos didn’t even have cheese. Was totally disappointing and not good.

First time visiting in February 2024. The food was good, not the best I have had in the Jax Metro area but not the worst either. I was very happy with the quantity of the food, their burritos were huge as well as their quesadillas! The service was excellent! We will certainly return.

I came in today for lunch and had the Birria tacos. This place has amazing, authentic Mexican food. The servers are amazing as well. This is my go to place for lunch. The prices are very reasonable for the portions. They also have a store inside, with some spices you won't find at other stores around. I highly recommend this place.

Chicken and Fajitas great. Salsa and Chips, Horchata a (rice drink)..hit the spot. Go there many times..never been dissapointed. Staff Servicers Excellent. Very Attentive. They have a Private Room for Parties/Meetings and have a Speaker unit for anyones use.

I am so proud of them for expanding! It is the best Mexican food in the surrounding areas in my opinion. My group goes every Thursday to not only enjoy the food but share good times with the lovely wait staff. I couldn't recommend this place more!

My family and I stop at a Mexican restaurant every city we go to. We were extremely content with the food and service. We highly recommend the whole fried tilapia and the carne asada plate. Although everything we tried was delicious these were our favorite. The horchata was also great! We will be back anytime we’re near.

Thus was our first time dining here. The food was amazing. Very good and served nice and hot. The service was a little slow only because they were very busy and I only saw 2 waitresses. The only downside is parking is very very limited.

Been coming here since I was 8, love this place service is impeccable same people have been here since I was a kid the food is consistently good fast and well priced! I work construction and often place large orders for all my coworkers and have never had a hassle getting the food. This place recently expanded and has plenty of room to accommodate large parties(we’ve had parties over 12 and didn’t have any problem) and the best part is it’s not owned by a big company and it has that feel. I would go here over the new place in green cove any day:)

First, you walk through the store to the restaurant. I thought this was really cool and provided a great atmosphere. The service is friendly and timely. The food is great. The entrance is on the back of the building but easy to find.

I’ve been coming here since 2006. Unfortunately since the new changes the atmosphere attitude and food quality has gone downhill. Last night my food was burnt into a crisp and unedible and a few bites I did eat. I became sick with food poisoning the next day. I will no longer be able to eat at this place or support it also, this is how it is in just about every restaurant in Green cove.

Always delicious! One of my favorite places for Mexican food. The shrimp tacos were especially good today. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and friendly, as usual.

Delicious food, great atmosphere. My daughter said the mojarra (fried fish) was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, which doesn't happen at some places. The molcajete had chicken, shrimp, chorizo, pork, and beef in this sauce that was amazing. The waitress, Antonia, was hilarious and attentive, rounding off an already good experience. Will be coming back, again.

This is my second time here. Came for lunch with a coworker. The service is amazing, the food is great, it’s clean and cozy. I’ll definitely come back. Don’t listen to some of the negative reviews. This place is great.

I checked their website before heading there to see if the food was in my price range, and it was. I arrived, was promptly seated. The staff was incredible. I ordered some drinks and looked at the menu. The prices didn't at all reflect what was provided on their personal website. In fact, some items that were originally around $10 were closer to $15 now. They also didn't have some of the items I had originally came for on the updated menu. I still gave them a chance because now I was seated. My meal came to about $25 before tip, and was nothing more than okay. I would have rated this lower, but again, my waitress was incredible. It was the lady with a nose ring.

This is texmex food not Mexican... Salsa is bland for old people the chips were stale... The refried beans was the only enjoyable thing I had and it's was a double order instead of rice which I didn't get.. not was my fajita sizzling like the table next to me was.. honestly I think it was left in window til the other food got ready or was a messed up order that got reserved? My friend said his wasn't worth getting again nor did he want to try anything else while we are here... Your better off with microwave food at gas station...

It was a cute little Mexican restaurant. I had high hopes walking in. But they charge for every little thing (a little extra sauce is an addes charge) and the portions were substantially smaller. The food was overcooked as well.

I used to eat here all the time. Small resturaunt with a store attached. The portions were always big and I usually had food to take home. The salsa is good and Burrito is a good value. Don't trust the review from Lorry Mars. She gave 5 stars to Popeyes and Motel 6.

It’s all fake the food, the music the servers NOTHING is authentic its not Mexican at all whatsoever it’s NOT worth the money the guacamole came from a bag not fresh and had a hair in it. all the aguas frescas are powdered or frozen pulp the sour cream is gritty the rice has corn in it the Cuban way the music is Puerto Rican and It’s all served by Cuban females nothing Mexican nothing fresh regret coming here

Food was just ok. It's not something I would go out of my way to eat at. The service was decent. Although the waitress never often refills for our drinks. Sadly, We watched a fellow restaurant petron, get up, and kill a bug on the floor.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. My husband and I stopped by with our 2 year old as we were in the area and the ratings were good. After we sat down it had been a few minutes waiting for someone to come give us menus. Meanwhile someone who had just come in was seated and already ordering their drinks. A while later we had a nice waitress present us with menus. The pictures of food didn't look very good but maybe they don't have a good marketing team. My husband and I both ordered beef Enchiladas with rice and beans. Chicken tenders and fries for our 2 year old. The kids meal came first which came with 2 very thin, short chicken tenders that did not look appetizing and were not eaten. He had a few french fries. As for my husband and I, the rice looked right out of a box and the beans canned. The Enchiladas were a nasty mess. Just Ground beef with some cheese thrown in wrapped in a soggy Tortilla. The cheese inside wasn't even melted. The top was covered with sauce and melted cheese, but this just tasted like straight grease. We were able to get refunded for one meal and the staff seemed confused and said no one ever complains. $15 spent on garbage and a waste of time. They were nice but the food was gross. Don't waste your time here.

Great little hole in the wall. Great portion sizes for the pricing. If you want a HUGE burrito they have it! Wanna try different things at once? You can! Chimichangas are excellent and the pick your combo is the way to go if you wanna try different entree's.

Good food and service. Also has a small store that frequently gets good pandulce. I live across the river but go for lunch at this location about once a week.

By FAR the absolute BEST Mexican food along the entire east coast! Amazing little vibe, staff is super friendly for the most part, the food is seriously on the money EVERY SINGLE TIME, no matter what we order!!! My children beg to eat here at LEAST once a WEEK! Definitely a super hit with our family!!!

Delicious fajitas! Attentive service. Being raised on southwestern mexican food it is so nice to find a very close match! Spices were just right. Nice size portions. Good prices. Tamales were excellent! Perfect for the Holidays! Chimis need a liitle help though, try rolling them like a burrito and fry golden. Beans and rice were flavorful. Nice side store located inside. Candy, baked goods, spices and lots more.
