A GEM 💎 in South Knoxville. Great place to pop in for some down south barbeque!

Went in today with my family and was very happy with the food and service, very nice people. I highly recommend and I will definitely stop there again.

Not very inviting place to walk into , older dram building in much need of redo . No service order from counter . Not much seating inside . Food awful cold beans , greasy fries , barbecue just ok . Saw online this was voted number 1 barbecue in Knoxville rest assured it’s not by far . Save yourself a trip .

They have the sweetest workers there. Even call in orders, they are so nice that it leaves you feeling good just from talking to them. We always love the food and the price is great!

We had a group of 13 that came and we all got our food within 10 minutes! It's an older building so some things aren't as modern but the kindness, speed, and food make you forget that very minor detail of an older building. The brisket was fall apart tender, the pulled pork was so flavorful and moist, and their sauce variety was all so delicious! Our group is visiting from the north and south west and we wanted good local BBQ and this place was the best choice. Our little kids loved the nachos, quesadillas, burgers, and hush puppies. Our teens said "this was the best I've every had!" If you're within a 45 min drive, don't hesitate, go!

Great little local BBQ place. The staff were sweet and our food was ready quick even though it was in the middle of the afternoon. I would recommend to anyone looking for great food in a low-key atmosphere.

I went to this small out of the way place and was greeted by the friendliest woman. I had the smoked chicken meal with 2 sides. The chicken was smoked perfectly, still juicy with lots of good smokey flavor. Had their spicy sauce that was also delicious. I will seek this place out next time in town to try more items from the menu.

We'd heard this place was good but it was not. The ribs tasted like they were boiled in vinegar and slapped lukewarm on the plate. No smoke or even browning. The pulled pork was not smoked and the sides were bland and watery. The owner was very nice and so it makes me sad the food was this bad.

Great place been going since it opened I moved and hadn't been for a while and went back it's still just the same. Some may find it slightly expensive for a few items on the menu but it's always delicious and you get plenty of it!

We decided to venture just a little ways out from town for dinner on a Saturday afternoon after being told by the locals about this hidden gem. There were 6 of us and we tried the brisket, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, fries & hush puppies. All were delicious and as you would expect from a mom & pop establishment, the staff was very friendly. Definitely worth the short drive from downtown Knoxville!

Stumbled across this hidden gem when I was looking for something to eat, the best part it’s 5 MINUTES from my house. I was simple, got the cheeseburger with beans and mac. When I say this was the BEST cheeseburger I’ve ever had. The hamburger was cooked perfectly it had a nice crispy crust with a moist inside. The beans were phenomenal and the bacon in the mac was a nice added surprise. 10/10 all around, will definitely be back !

Stumbled on this hidden gem! Slaw dogs w/fresh cut fries = awesome! Smoked bologna = even better! Great people making great bbq! So good I have ordered a whole smoked ham, and will return here for lunch every time I am in the area!

Came all the way from Arizona to enjoy the BEST BBQ in all of the USA! The sweetest married couple owns this mom and pop bbq restaurant. Me and my kids loved their homemade sauces, brisket sandwich, baked beans, and the salad. Wish we weren’t so far away so I could go back tomorrow. Must try while in Knoxville.

These were the worst baby back ribs I've ever had - the place had all the smokers out front but clearly weren't using them - I will say the hot bbq sauce was good but the ribs tasted like they had been cooked in an instapot or just boiled in water and had zero flavor - they had no char/texture... the portion size was huge but they had the texture of undercooked hotdogs / soggy bread - there was zero seasoning on them (don't even know if they had salt) - I used almost half a bottle of sauce to get through them because I didn't want to waste the $29+ on a full rack - The McRib at McDonalds is better... which is just sad - never again.

I get their brisket fairly often and it ranges from very good to the best ever. And i love their sauce -- it reminds me of the sauce at the legendary Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City (i grew up in KC and Bryant's shaped my opinion on what sauce on brisket should taste like). Friendly folks, good basic non-pretentious mom and pop atmosphere.

Wow! What a great BBQ restaurant! All the food was 10/10. We ate the pulled chicken sandwich and brisket. Our sides were baked beans, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and hush puppies. The BBQ sauce is EXCELLENT! The couple that runs the restaurant are friendly and helpful. The cost of the dishes are inexpensive and the service was quick and swift. Highly recommend heading to this BBQ joint for great food!

It is by far the best brisket I have had in Tennessee since I have lived in the Knoxville area. Very juicy and tender. I had basically given up on brisket but had a feeling about this spot. It did not disappoint. Tater salad and slaw both great, and so were the hush puppies.

Southern home cooking for sure. Fast friendly and clean. Prices are great. Family deals for $22 and up. Sandwiches start at $5. A tucked away surprise for sure. Plenty of parking.

Me and my husband ate dinner here tonight and we LOVED it. Great food and great customer service. The owners were so sweet! This is the best little bbq joint to have a great dining experience at! And not to mention the prices were great as well!

It is a cute little hole-in-the-wall that serves some of the best meat & sides, (and hush puppies), I have ever had. GO THERE!

This place is out of the way, looks a bit "shady" to the unadventurous however; the absolute BEST barbeque in the area. Owner is incredibly nice, patient and helpful for those who can't decide what they want to eat. I don't feel that you could go wrong with anything that you order! Call before you drive to the location to assure that it's open as the Google posted hours don't always reflect accurately.

If you love good BBQ or mom & pop places, you'll love this one! The outside looked a bit sketch at first, but spotted the giant smoker outside & went inside. Owners were warm & friendly, prices were very good, & the food was great. We got pulled pork, brisket, ribs that literally fell off the bone, & hand cut fries- everything was delicious! Will be back if we're in the area again.

This is a must visit. It’s not too far out of you way and on the first bite you will agree. Due to timing only, we couldn’t get ribs but there was no love loss at all. Pulled Chicken, Brisket, Smoked Sausage, Tater Salad, Slaw, BBQ beans, house made sauces. This is a hidden GEM. While we were there, someone picked up 6 ‘full log’ smoked bolognas. I’ve had BBQ from all the regions and all the styles. Each has its own value even if you have a favorite. Every thing served here is what you expect it to be and you can tell they cook it with love and pride. Would recommend, 11/10. Plates come with hush puppies included. They were what you want all hush puppies to be when you bite them. Done Right is an understatement.

Trying "Love that BBQ" was a spur of the moment decision and we are so happy we did. The owner was so personable and the food was delicious. We both had BBQ sandwiches, beans, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese. Honestly, the portions could have been smaller and I would have been satisfied. I had the red velvet cake for dessert which was also very tasty. Oh, don't forget to try the hush puppies!

We have eaten BBQ all over the place, and this was one of the best meals we’ve ever had! They are absolutely the best ribs I’ve ever eaten anywhere. I didn’t put any sauce on them at all, because they didn’t need it. My 9 year old son and I stopped in on our way through town, and got a little of everything. It was all really, really good, but we especially enjoyed the ribs, fries(literally hand cut), the fried bologna sandwich, and the hush puppies. Oh yeah and the potato salad, and the pulled pork with coleslaw on it. To top it all off, the couple working it couldn’t have nicer and more hospitable. Please skip all the chain restaurants in the area and get to this place and try it out. Real bbq by real people. Yum

I loved discovering Love That BBQ during an introduction to an area of Knoxville I wasn’t yet familiar with. Walking in, I loved the authentic feel. It was Wednesday lunchtime, but not overly busy. The menu had the perfect amount of options — enough to satisfy any craving, but not too many that I couldn’t make up my mind (yes, it’s a thing lol). I went with the BBQ sandwich and two sides meal — baked beans and hush puppies. The hush puppies were awesome. If you like garlic, you’ll love these. For sure, hush puppies will be something I get every time. The BBQ sandwich was great, I added the hot BBQ sauce. I can’t wait to have the brisket next time… the owner (super friendly and personable), was kind enough to give me a little taste. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. I’m looking forward to my return visit. I’ll also keep this place in mind when I host a dinner/party and need a crowd-pleaser without doing the cooking myself. FIVE STARS!

This is the best bbq that I have had in a very long time. If you are in Knoxville, this place is out of the way and well worth finding. Ribs fell off the bone when I touched them. The bbq sandwich was so juicy made the bottom bun soggy. The tater salad was very good as well. This place is a fantastic find. Brownies will make you hurt yourself the are filled with chocolate chips.

So I'm driving along this two lane road with my windows down and I drive into this parking lot and I think to myself love is in the air or it may have been the smell of BBQ that I was following😏 or it could have been the fact that I was looking up towards a sign that says Love That BBQ 😆. I went inside the restaurant and I ordered the half slab rib plate with hush puppies and tater salad with a sweet tea 🥤. The food was so good I went back the next day and got the same thing with a order of banana pudding. Okay make that two orders of banana pudding, and a slice of red velvet cake which I had to have because it's my favorite 😋. Everything was delicious and the customer service was great 😁.

Super friendly, small restaurant. The meat was excellent! Potato salad and hush puppies were good, but the Mac-n-cheese left a lot to be desired. I have had better, but had a lot worse for sure. The brisket is wonderful and makes a trip worth it!

Stopped in today from Louisville, Ky. Was coming back from Gatlinburg for a family getaway. This spot was exactly what I'm looking for anytime I'm traveling and trying new BBQ. No chain feel, just a good ol down home barbecue hole in the wall type of joint(and i mean that in the best way possible, it's how i like my bbq joints to be!). I'd travel back in a heartbeat just to have more of that pork or brisket. And the hushpuppies?? Perfection. Even bought myself a bottle of Hot BBQ sauce to-go! Definitely going to spread the word to anyone passing thru the Knoxville area!!

Absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I stopped here after trying to find a good BBQ place that was kind of out of the way. This place was perfect. Definitely not a noticeable locale, but has a great vibe inside. I had the pulled pork with mac'n'cheese and baked beans, while my boyfriend had the recommended brisket with coleslaw and potato salad. Every single thing was delicious and well-cooked, as well as affordable. Absolutely would recommend to anyway in the area looking for BBQ.

This is a great ma and pa style restaurant. Family owned and run. Real down home cooking, awesome service, and very low prices. Loved the different styles of in-house bbq sauce they have. You can't go wrong by stopping here!

IM IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE !! My fiancé and I went here Saturday and they are SO GOOD 🤤 the Mac and cheese is so creamy fries are home made and DELICIOUS! Not to forget the BBQ ! The meat is so tender and juicy doesn’t even need bbq sauce but the bbq just makes it 100 times better 10/10 recommend if you are looking a for a great mom and pop place that is so much better than any corporation!

Do not pass this place by!!! Not going to lie, we were a little hesitant but I assure you it was SO worth it!! I wish I would have taken pictures of our food but we inhaled it too fast!! The 7-layer salad was amazing. I had the medium BBQ sandwich and my husband had the large- it was perfect size (with 2 sides). The ladies working there were so friendly also!! Can't wait to come back to Knoxville! We will definitely be eating here again!!

My husband and I took a week long road trip from NJ to no where in particular. Each day we would head in a general direction and see where the day would take us. One day we were looking for authentic southern barbecue for lunch. We saw great reviews for this place and decided we had to go. It was a bit out of the way but it was definitely worth it. The ladies running the place were very friendly, the food was delicious, the portions were good and the pricing was beyond reasonable. Side note: they had some of the most delicious bbq sauces I've ever had! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic barbecue experience with a side of good ole fashioned southern hospitality!

I don't know where you start. Everything is amazing here. Best brisket I've ever had and the ribs are cooked to perfection. The bbq sandwich just melts in your mouth. We never knew about I and live tight in the area. Now we go a couple times weekly and she is an absolute joy!
