What a way to start our day! Our family was looking for a delicious and affordable breakfast option and Mel’s Diner didn’t disappoint! We even enjoyed mimosas with our meals. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We had different things from the vast menu offerings. Our server was Ashley. She was welcoming and attentive, and checked on us frequently without being intrusive. Overall, we will stop by here again.

I had a delicious meal. It was chicken fried steak, hashbrowns scrambled eggs, and a biscuit along with coffee. My service was excellent. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was good but a little noisy. I will go there again. Today 8/9/24 I was able to again enjoy lunch at Mel's. I had the same server Jose, who once again did another fabulous job with SERVICE. I had the cheeseburger and fries and an iced tea. Another delicious meal once again it was a experience, especially with Jose server thank you.

I'm not sure what's going on with Mel's Diner. I had previously given the food 4 stars. Today, I ordered my usual all meat omelet, and there were four bites that I couldn't chew. The wait staff was all new, which makes me think that Mel's is under new management. I'm willing to give them another shot someday, but they need to get it together. Two strikes, and you're out!

Cozy diner in classic American style. Our server, Harold, was very attentive and friendly. He apologized several times that the coleslaw that was supposed to be served with our meal was out. Instead, there was an additional drink on the house! We had a burger and ribs, both of which exceeded our expectations.

We arrived with a girls software team (13) and their parents and grandparents. We did call ahead! The staff was very accommodating and patient with the girls. The food was excellent. The girls said the milkshakes were amazing. Definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Bonita Springs.

Always a good meal at Mel's. Recently was there for breakfast. They have a nice large menu. Great options. I love the fresh squeezed Orange Juice. Will continue to look forward to going back. On a side note, I am still upset that they have done away with the chocolate mile high pie. Even special orders. I love Mel's but can't forgive them for that. #firstworldproblems

We brought a large group of softball players and their families in for lunch after a game. The servers did an amazing job sitting us together, taking orders from 40+ adults and kids. Everyone enjoyed their food and had a great experience.

Went to Mel's today very disappointed I got a open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. Well the turkey was dry with the gravy on it not good at all. My mother got meatloaf it had no taste and was hard. Unfortunately that was the second time that has happened. One bright spot was the rice pudding.

Very disappointed in my first and last trip to this" diner". The fish was from yesterday and my lady's baked potato was from back in the Stone age. Highly disappointed in the service and the quality of the food. I will not be back. Eat at your own risk.

Stopped in for dinner. Had the ribs special and wife and a burger. We also had the fried pickles. They were really good. Rids were excellent, fall off the bone. Great flavor too. Wife’s burger didn’t have a lot of flavor though.

Went here for my wife's birthday. Other than television we had not heard about this restaurant We had very good food that was hot when served good service and price very reasonable. The next time we are in the area we will be sure to have this restaurant on our agenda. My biggest disappointment is that the nearest restaurant is over a hundred away from us

chicken parm was ragu spaghetti sauce over flavorless chicken Strips cut up straight out of the freezer with a piece of partially melted cheese not parm over spaghetti. Nice portion but not chicken parm

Sadly inflation has taken over. $18.84 for 2 eggs, potatoes, bacon. Coffee and a small juice.

First time here for lunch and it was delicious. The wings was nice and crispy. I got a plain cheesesteak it was yummy. And my gf got the Mediterranean Omelette which was delicious also. Service was great.

Came here right after the airport to kick off my Naples vacation. Food was sub par and the waitress was rude and practically kicked us out once we were finished. Stated multiple times she wanted to go home and we were her last table. Took my mother in laws plate while she was still eating her fries. You’d do better at a restaurant in the airport than here. Will not ever return and would not recommend.

It’s unconscionable that you are closed at 9 pm. We’ve literally bought 4 tons of chocolate cake over the last 2 months. Now that I have diabetes, I hold your restaurant personally responsible. Please understand that I am an addict! Not making cake available is tantamount to abuse. I am considering speaking to my attorney tomorrow if you don’t consider staying open till at least 2am when my chocolate cravings tend to die out.

Mels Diner has always been a staple in the area for us. Unfortunately this last time was a huge disappointment. We ordered a prime rib to go, it was comprised of almost 50% fat! Huge disappointment, would love to get this resolved… The steak portion weighed just about 5 oz, the remainder was almost 4 oz of pure fat…

Havent been in a traditional diner in ages. I'm so thrilled to find this is actually one in food as well as looks. 10/10 recommend 👌 will be one of our go-to favorite places from now on.

Was quite interested in eating here but after trying the food out, realised it was a bit too bland for my Indian tongue - I need flavour! The American Idol Burger set is okay, was far too oily for me (3/5), milkshake was also okay - I prefer the Chik Fil A one. My husband ordered the All You Can Eat Fish (4/5). Our server was very sweet. All in all, this was an okay experience hence 3.5 stars-4 stars.

Always a great place for great food at a great price. Portions are always large. Staff can be hit or miss on personality, but it's a diner and not expecting 5 star service.

I am originally from Philly, so I have gone to many diners in the Philly / NJ area. Mel's is great. The style and atmosphere are appropriate. The place smells and looks clean (bathroom, too). The food is as expected for a diner. On Sunday, our cups of coffee never got below half full. It was constantly refilled. If you are in the area and want some breakfast, then this is the place.

Delicious food, freindly service, and ANYthing you could think of to eat! My husband got the burger with the egg on the top, and I got the turkey club. Don't forget the KEY LIME PIE! OMGEEEEE.

A family restaurant with a touch of class and experience. To the powers that be please, please increase everyone's wages here. I'm telling you it's the kind of restaurant where you want to have all of your meals. The bar is stocked with quality spirits and the draft selection will appeal to just about all the ale connoisseurs out there. We live here year round and this is our 'go-to' if we want diner food. However, tonight my boyfriend got the steak w/baked potato. He ordered onion rings and asked for them first as an appetizer. They arrived with the steak, and the steak was undercooked and bloody and cool to the touch, he ordered it Medium. We asked to speak with the manager,,,the waitress came back and claimed the manager 'was too busy to speak to us'. They did comp the steak. This is so disappointing and really affects all aspects of this restaurant. Need to find a new favorite.

We ordered the Easter ham dinner. At 11:30 , upon arriving home there was no ham. We went directly there and were told they were out of ham!!!! They would give us turkey. Unfortunately they gave us a single turkey dinner not a family dinner!!! Then the phone call resulted in only 4 individual Turkey dinners not even enough for our family!!! I’m so upset !!! Poor service and not resolved to save our Easter dinner!!!!

I’ve gone here twice recently. In the past y he food was always consistently great. The last 2 times I’ve gone in the evening the service has been slow, missed items, and just not pleasant. More importantly the food has been overcooked the last 2 times and the flavor seemed like the grease was old. I wouldn’t care except the fact that it’s expensive to go out to eat. It’s a treat for us. It’s very disappointing because in the past it was always consistently great. Last year I took my mom for lunch and it was great. So maybe lunch cook / staff is better than evening? I don’t know.

A coworker of mine came here on Superbowl Sunday. Everyone wanted to leave already, I get it that we were rushed. Food was good, no complaints, service was okay. The ribs are good, a lil dry, but tasty.

First time here, Rebecca was our waitress and took our order. She was friendly and checked on us to make sure everything was OK. I had a a great pastrami Reuben and was quite filling. Love the decor.... Betty Boop and Charlie Chaplin greet you as you come in.

Usually, order to go chicken noodle soup, which is the best. But, today we ate inside. I ordered the special BBQ ribs. Unfortunately, the ribs were burnt. I was hungry, so I ate most of it. Andrea offered to replace it, but the soup is really what I wanted. My other favorite is the Sanibel salad. Maybe the next visit will be better. You really need to visit for the atmosphere alone. Can't forget how welcoming Alexis is, too. She's the friendliest around.

It is a very nice place, and clean. I was disappointed in the sausage gravy. Didn't have enough sausage for my liking. My wife and daughter both had very good meals.

For a “diner” experience you can’t beat Mel’s. Personally I love the hole-in-the-wall type places which Mel’s tries to reflect but does it one better. The wait staff was a bit overwhelmed the day we visited but not their fault and they did their best to handle it. The food was standard fare comfort, not fancy but tasty and fair priced. It is always fun to look around at all the Memorabilia decorating the place and relax in the atmosphere of simplicity and an era long passed. This is one of my favorites anywhere in the USA and I, for one, can’t wait to return!

Kind of chaotic, 2 out of the 5 orders wrong, one person didn't get their food till everyone else was almost done. They did their best to try to fix it though.

We ordered take out today - the fries came hard as rock & burnt, none of the condiments we requested for each burger was on the burgers and not even packets of anything although we requested cutlery etc. Overall, definitely a simple burger with nothing special, won't order again.

Our waiter was amazing, Harold Angel Best I've seen in a very long time, anywhere. Attentive, caring , fast, and informative. Other than that , Mels is Mels same everything . Lived here 20 years year round , nothing really changed. Needs diabetic sugar free deserts since the population is over 65 and diabetic.

Clean restaurant. Tasty food reasonably priced. The serving portions are generous. The salad that comes with dinner isn't just pulled out of a spring mix bag. It's a true salad! Service was prompt and courteous. 50's oldies play while you eat. The biscuits are home made, warm and delicious.

Got there right at opening. Very cool decor and good service. I had the corned beef hash with two eggs. The hash was served with a little grill crust. Very nice. My wife had two eggs and bacon. We both got biscuits which were great. The entrees were very good but pretty standard. It's a good place for breakfast.

Busy, busy, BUSY place! I stopped in to kill time bc my car was getting fixed . I started with a bowl of clam chowder that was very tasty, then ordered the half pound of grilled shrimp and rice pilaf that was ahh, ok. The rice had NO flavor at all. The server was soo busy, but still extremely warm and kind. I enjoyed her. I think her name was like Rennie? (long brown hair in ponytail with glasses)

First time we ate at this location after hearing and seeing ads for some time. My partner had the ribeye with a salad and found the ribeye a little fatty but that's what you get with ribeye. I was told the fish and chips had a lot of breading on them so instead I opted for the Reuben sauce on the side and fries. I specifically asked, as I always do, if the corned beef for the Reuben was lean and if it came on marble rye. I was told yes on both counts only to find the corned beef not very lean and not very much of it and it was served on some kind of thick almost Texas toast and the fries seem to have sat in the window under the heat lamp until they were tough. The coleslaw that came with this dish in a little paper cup seemed almost Frozen or Frosty, not very good. A waitress Lisa tried her best and mentioned that the bread for the reuben sandwich had been changed recently for some unknown reason she did get me another order of fresh fries much better and offered to remake my sandwich I said no thanks. My suggestion if you want to go here and like Ruben's order something else and get a Reuben at a different place. The older folks I saw pouring in here to eat must have known what to order and must not be afraid of cholesterol or high blood pressure causing food. With all that said yes, I will go back to try the burger and also because I got a $10 off coupon for having been a first-time visitor. I ate half my Reuben sandwich and brought the other half and some of the fresh fries home, gave the corned beef to the pup he seemed to enjoy it. So that was good. Oh they also had beer so all was not lost.

First timers. We usually go to the Mel's in Cape Coral. This was okay. Service was good, food was okay. We definitely prefer the one in Cape Coral!! Staff there awesome, food there fantastic!
