The Bold City Burger is AWESOME!! GREAT food GREAT service!

Probably the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Everyone's food was awesome - Fruit waffle, Cinnamon Roll pancakes 🥞 😋, Eggs Benedict w/ chicken (absolute best), classic eggs, bacon, home fries & toast, Western omelet, 2 coffees and 1 soda for $60. Portions were huge. Will definitely return when in the area. Waitress was on point, friendly!

Food always good. Booths overdue for re-covering.

You gotta try the Country Fried Steak with red potato mashed potatoes here! It's so delicious!

Great place to eat lunch. We both had meatloaf platters. Meatloaf was outstanding and mashed potatoes were great too. Our waitress was personable, quick, and attentive. Couldn't ask for better. Kudos to Metro for hiring her. Crowded and noisy in a diner kind of way. Short wait to get seated. Highly recommend.

We only order eggs, toast, Cheese grits Strawberries. For the 2 of us and eggs burnt grits on was not cooked all the way bacon was overcooked strawberries was mushy…. And when you came outside, (3) of the inside cooks was outside smoking weed so yes we will not be back at all ……. Placed online order for pick up kid meal of chicken and waffle not in the order and order double mashed potatoes they still did green beans

Potatoes and grits were terrible. Cheese grits were just regular grits garnished with thin cheese. My chicken biscuit was good but tiny! Potatoes tasted old with different stale flavors. I have mostly eaten take-out or ordered delivery through UBER eats. This was my second time eating at the restaurant. I will stick with the chicken and waffles!

Went for breakfast it was filling up fast but they got us seated and our food to us pretty quick. The food was really good and filling. Big portion size. Everyone was really friendly. Clean with a friendly atmosphere. Ordered the chicken and waffles. It's half a chicken and the strawberry butter on the waffles.

Fist time going in there. Got there right at 5 walked in got sat down and service almost immediately. They were quick friendly and they all worked well as a team. The food came out very quickly for the number of people in the building. It was very good and hot. I got the fish fry I would recommend trying it. Last few times I've been there the food hasn't been to good. Also very greasy were you can tell the oil is old.

Our waitress was great! The country fried steak was delivered with blood running out on the plate. The eggs Benedict was over cooked. Not sure the cooking staff knows what they are doing

Update: Metro is still a great place, we go here when we're interested in some breakfast and their waffles are always top notch. I would choose the waffles over the pancakes here every time. The service is always friendly and our server today, Levi was very attentive. You have to order the chicken and waffles. They are seriously, so, so good. Recommended by a co-worker and hearing about it from a past TV show, I had to give this one a try. Of course, I ordered their chicken and waffles. This is the first time ever having that together and it was AMAZING. The strawberry cream butter (stuff) that is spread on the waffles is divine. The chicken was cooked perfectly and it all came together well with the unique blend of a hot sauce/syrup. I'd say give it a try because I loved it. The service was above and beyond amazing. They were always very kind, asked to make sure we had everything and helpful with the orders. I would recommend giving this place a try. My husband ordered the burger and enjoyed it (he likes it more raw than cooked), so he was happy. The fries were decent, though honestly it didn't compare to my meal.

Delicious food, great service, nice diner environment where it just feels cozy drinking that good cup of coffee. One of my best choices for breakfast/brunch places is definitely metro diner and this location delivers! Had the San Francisco Benedicts and Belgian Waffle with Chocolate chips. Hit the spot just right!!

My over medium eggs were really over easy. Otherwise, good food and great service in a rather loud and noisy restaurant.

Bro what the hell yall cooking these pancakes on? This is the third time I have gotten them cold & covered & whatthe hell? Grill marks? Yall cooking this on a dirt y griddle! My partner and I went to this diner to have a business meeting and a meal. We requested to be seated on the patio. We sat there for 20 minutes without being served. A waitress walked to the door, looked at us, and went back inside after us being there for about 10 minutes. 10 more minutes, and no one returned.

Food was good, great portions. Only issue got biscuits and gravy and biscuits were a little hard/overdone. Wife got chicken sandwich and broccoli. Said it was wonderful. Server was excellent. Prices ate on par with most other sit down restaurants.

We stopped in. My chicken sandwich was delicious. Hubby biscuits and gravy were good. Biscuits were dry. Eggs and hash browns were good. Unfortunately they took off Mt favorite salad. The Pittsburgh Salad. We will return..

We ordered to go, three entrees for around total of $50 and the portions are for children. We got teriyaki steak bowl had one piece tiny piece of steak and a handful of rice. Same with the tangy chicken bowl we got. The pot pie was ok in portion but very bland.

The chicken fingers were good but my wife's chicken pot pie was doughy and the crust wasn't cooked through. She had to chase down the server to get it corrected. She was disappointed with her meal - the last time she had this, it was creamy. This time it wasn't and the crust was way too thick - probably why it wasn't cooked through, perhaps.

I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was delicious. It's a lot for one person to eat but well worth the money.

Hey, my lovely readers!! Hope ALL of ya'll are doing well and are healthy. My experience at the Metro Diner, located at 2034 Kingsley Avenue in Orange Park, FL, was very enjoyable! My server was quite pleasant and sweet to my husband and I. The hostess greeted us immediately upon our entrance and guided us to a booth right away! Upon entering Metro Diner, the smells were amazing!!! My husband and I ordered The Bressel Breakfast. It comes with two eggs prepared the way you want them, toast, or grits, and hash browns, with buttery pancakes. I didn't want the toast. Our young, lady server suggested fruit in place of toast. To me, my meal was DELICIOUS 😋!!! James, morito mio (my husband), wanted the grits, toast, and hasbrowns with two buttery pancakes. He enjoyed his breakfast very much. The meal was more than decent portions!!! Very filling!!! Metro Diner does serve limited choices of cocktails and wines. They're priced at $4.99. We ordered 2 sweet teas for $6.98, all together. The total amount came to $38.44. I rated Metro Diner's Atmosphere, Service, and Food, 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟!! There was laughter throughout the diner, and lots of smiles! My husband and I have already decided to come back here.

I love Metro Diner the food is usually good. My favorite used to be the Chicken pot pie the original way it was made with the pastry crust. I went a few weeks ago and got the chicken pot pie and they changed the recipe the inside wasn’t the same it was awful and the crust was a thick biscuit that was not cooked all the way through. There was more biscuit than what was inside. It looked like they had some cream of chicken with only carrots and they chopped up chicken and threw on top of it then added the thick biscuit top. Please bring back the original way it was made. I’m just saying no one wants to eat an uncooked thick biscuit.

We’ve been eating at metro for years now and this past time we went was the best ever. We had the chicken and waffles and cinnamon pancakes and it was all cooked to perfection. We had Sharon as our server and she was very personable and attentive. If we didn’t live so far away we would come in every weekend solely to have her as our server

Online Menu is not accurate. Took the trip specifically for a Monte Cristo which they no longer serve.

At the tender age of 76, this is the first bad review I have ever written anywhere. I respect people in the service industry and usually will give folks leeway. However, I put in a curbside order online , which website said would be ready at 6:31. I arrived at about 6:35, called the listed number and got put through to a voice mail that no one was able to answer the phone. So, OK. I can walk the few feet to go inside ,no big deal BUT I waited 10 more minutes until my order was ready. Also, not a major big deal -place was busy and I didn't have any pressing engagements to get to. However, I had ordered a hamburger, medium, no pickle and add mushrooms. I did NOT select no tomato, lettuce etc. Burger was supposed to have tomato and lettuce unless you specifically checked the box saying you didn't want it. See my email receipt below: ORDER FOR CURBSIDE PICKUP Order ready at 6:31 PM, TODAY (THURSDAY, 4/4/2024) Thanks for your order! 1 x Classic Burger (1 x $11.99) = $11.99 1 x Medium 1 x No Pickle Spear 1 x Add Mushrooms (1 x $1.00) = $1.00 1 x Steamed Broccoli SUBTOTAL $12.99 What I got was a slab of meat cooked to the consistency of a hockey puck. No , tomato, no lettuce, no flavor and a stale bun. What happened Metro? We used to be able to count on you for quality food.

As an European visitor I would say: Typical American 😉 We went there for brunch on a Sunday. Of course crowded but the service struggled to get us a table. Quite a big menu, the quality of the food ok but not at all that good like I'm used to have in Vienna. I believe that Americans are content with this location and what it is offering 😀

We have dinner here regularly, and the food is consistently very good. Service is also good. Had one of their bowls, and my husband had a Reuben - delicious! Wish they had Reubens on the menu all the time because my husband loves them! The bowls are outstanding!

We come everyday for breakfast and have always loved going. Today visited and my bagel was wrong and the short manager with glasses and collared shirt wanted to argue with our waitress about the bagel… REALLY! We won’t come on the days he’s there.

I love Metro but this is ridiculous. 7 tiny boneless wings for almost $11. They give you more celery than wings. Metro nobody actually wants the celery. Do better!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

I've been going to beach store wkly but you changed menu, took ham steak off with eggs.beengoing for yours for years. Now orange park steak tips(2 orders)today Sunday, to much pepper, steak tough meat,order 2 needed for myself and daughter, in hospital try to treat her, mistake, you were so outstanding, quality and amount , not there now, why? Miss your high qual. I know you were packed but not reason for not being up to your own high standards.

Had the chicken and waffles, and it was on point. The waffles were thick and sweet (didn't even need syrup) and the chicken was seasoned nicely and was fried to a nice crisp . I would like to see them add a fresh lemonade and with strawberries (my favorite beverage), but I'm definitely going back.

Went in to pick up a food order & encountered some unfair treatment. The associate that was working up front asked for my name along with the 2 other guest that were waiting for pickups. She bags & hands the other two guest their food then goes on to finish seating incoming guests. Another guest walks in for a p/u order the same associate asks the guest her name & the guest responds “well she was here 1st”(referring to me); so the associate proceeds to take her name then asks for my name once again. The associate then bags the guests 2 orders & gives to her. I then said excuse me, is my order still not ready? Everyone that has came after me has been helped. The associate says sorry, I just bag them in the order they come. She then proceeds to bag food that I’ve watched sit there since my arrival & hands to me. I say that food has been sitting there ready for quite a while, she says “oh has it, sorry”. I hate to make it a race issue but that’s the only explanation I can come up with being I’m A.A & everyone she put before me was Caucasian.

I've been to Metro Diner several times (several locations) before and never had a bad experience. Took my mother for lunch today, and she ordered the steak tips. She had to swap her order with mine because she couldn't eat the steak tips. They were over-cooked, tough, and grisly. Service was good, atmosphere is the diner experience, I just can't recommend the steak tips.

Our waitress was Kayla and she was amazing.Highly recommend her.

Feb 4th 3:25 pm called to place an order for pickup (5 person order) add that up.(9 times)in a row.3:45 pm.Drove up to restaurant 2or 3 cars in the front. Employees cars in back.Drove up to curb side and called again 3:55pm.No answer.Drove off and spent my money at another establishment.You are losing money and wandering why? Pathetic. 👎

Disappointed. Recipes have changed. Fish is very fishy tasting. Burger was great but bun too small and fixins lacking. Messy meal.

With a family member in the hospital, this Metro dinner was right across the street. So we stopped to get dinner. The waitress, Victoria, was extremely attentive without being overbearing. She answered every question and was able to meet our requests, a top-notch waitress. The food was awesome as you can see I had the Ruben the picture shows everything but how it tasted, which was perfect. 😋

Restaurant was busy and the service was still excellent. Shepards Pie was delicious and the kids loved the chicken tenders.

We were a large party (11) but our waitress was great. She was attentive and thoughtful. Gave her over 25% because she worked hard. I had steak tips and they were chewey and bland. The rest of the food was good and the mushroom gravy was great but maybe a little marinade to season the meat. Dale's should pair well with that excellent gravy. Maybe cut the meat with grain to help with toughness. The fried chicken looked good and he said it was very good. Great service but food depends on what you order.
