We hosted our granddaughters 21st birthday party here. The food, service and atmosphere were fantastic! I especially liked the table and space we were seated. We all felt comfortable and part of the group being able to hear each other during conversations. The acoustics was great. Acoustics in a restaurant is one of my highest priorities. Mojo’s was the best for acoustics I’ve been in a long time. Thank you to our hostess that did an amazing job. She was there for us as needed and not always hovering being a bother. We were allowed to bring in our own birthday deserts. It was so nice if our hostess being on the ball bringing plates and silverware for serving our deserts with takeout boxes as well. Absolutely the best!!!

The food was cold 🥶 the Mac and cheese had no flavor at all that’s my personal experience just being completely honest 💯…..

Those Burnt Ends were on point. I would definable come back.

We were a party of 4 dining. We had the Fried Pickles appetizer which was absolutely fantastic.! 🙂 All our main courses were very enjoyable. Unfortunately, all of the side dishs were disappointing.! 😕 Services was not on point this time. She seemed to be very streach with too many tables.

Great barbecue, large portions, good sweet tea. Favorites are the barbecue burger and the banana pudding oh my!

The atmosphere was amazing - clean and modern, yet rustic and welcoming. It is located in an old bank building (see pictures) and thus the 'Federal' in the name, with some tongue-in-cheek advertising on the signs outside (see pictures). We weren't super hungry, so ordered a little on the light side and shared our dishes (as is our custom anyway). As an appetizer, we ordered the Onion Rings (see picture) and they were awesome - huge, crispy and bit off cleanly. For lunch we ordered (see pictures for each): Kansas City Burnt Ends, Three-Meat Combo, BBQ Reuben & Smoked Turkey Breast. All of the dishes were smokey, juicy and full of flavor - but that didn't stop us from trying the various bbq sauces on the table (see picture). The next time you find yourself in Lakeland and looking for some good BBQ, stop by Mojo Federal Swine & "Spirits. Very nice place for a good BBQ. The fried chicken is outstanding. Mashed potatoes, corn, collards, pit beans....all good southern food. Historic building well kept.

We came here for an early dinner on a Monday. There was absolutely no one else in the restaurant so we were seated quickly. But no one ever came to take our order. Several people walking around but not a waitress in sight. Finally after 15 solid minutes we left and have no plans to return.

From the time I walked in the door, I was greeted with a savory aroma and pleasant customer service. My waiter (Nathan) answered every question I had as a first time visitor and made great recommendations. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were great! I would highly recommend and I'll be back!

Ribs were dry and tough. Brisket was chewy. The onion rings were not my favorite style of onion rings. The pulled pork and Mac & cheese was great. The drink was even better. It’ll be awhile before I go back again.

The food is delicious and the service is excellent! We sat at the bar to eat and had some craft cocktails made by Gandy! Highly recommend visiting him at the bar!!

First time. I had to order in a hurry. I wanted a baked potato with pulled pork but that wasn't on the menu so I hastly got the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich (just wanted a chicken sandwich of any kind) didn't come with lots of toppings, just slaw and pickles (the pickles which I got on the side) but it was a very tasty if very fried (oily) tasting but what Nashville Hot chicken isn't dripping? The smokey yellow corn side was SO good. Also my kid got Mac and cheese and it was excellent as well as the grilled hotdog. I would definitely go back and try some proper BBQ next time.

Wonderful experience! I have been looking for a restaurant to hold rehearsal dinner when I get married in a few months and this restaurant was recommended. We went to go try the food to see if we would like it and wow! Definitely placing a reservation to have rehearsal dinner here. The staff was friendly and the food was seriously amazing. BBQ can be hard to mess up sometimes, but Mojo knew what to do! We got a large variety of brisket, smoked turkey, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken. All of it was amazing and so filing. Can't recommend this place enough!

Had an early dinner Saturday night before the crowd. The waiter was very attentive to asking if our food was good and if we needed anything. This is our go to spot in Lakeland for BBQ. The appetizer burnt ends are fantastic. The onion rings, aka "dog collars" are huge! I had the brisket and hot link, and the wife had pulled pork and brisket. So much food we had enough for a 2nd meal the next day. They make a painkiller the correct way with Pussers old navy rum. I highly recommend them if your in the mood for some good barbecue.

Good food, good service but way to hot inside don't know if a/c on fritz or not, inside could be a little cleaner looking dirty.

Came here with friends to celebrate two birthdays. What could be better than good BBQ on your birthday. From the outside it looks more like a bank than a BBQ place but as soon as you walk inside you forget all about the outside. We got seated right away. Server was fast at the start and then I'm not sure what happened but as the place got less busy the service became way more slow. We started off with their award winning wings. They were definitely really good. Nice crisp finish to them with the way they're prepared with a finish in the deep fryer. Great flavor. It's no surprise that they won two awards. They make a really good old fashioned as well. They also manage to overcook brisket really well too. Two of us got the two meat combo with links and brisket. The brisket was horrible. Not even the barbeque sauce could save it. I couldn't even finish it. The mac-n-cheese side was also not good. Tasted like 3 day old reheated mac-n-cheese. The baked beans were good. The two winners of this place were the smoked wings and the moist towelette that they bring you. Not a place I would come back to. Food and service were subpar.

The building is beautiful, the servers and staff are very friendly. The food is good but I wouldn't say great. Parking in downtown is always an adventure but worth it for all the great places there.

Great service the food was okay. I got the feast so I tried a lot of stuff. The ribs were AWESOME ,chicken okay,turkey okay and the brisket was pretty good. Banana pudding don't even waste your money if you've ever had good banana pudding .

Nathan was our server and he did such an amazing job. We had a party of 17 kids and adults and he was absolutely the best. The drinks and food were amazing as ALWAYS!!!

First time for me. Loved the onion rings. Had pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes. Food was great. Waitress was attentive to everyone in her area.

Sasha was our waitress and was so nice! We ran out of water for our baby and she gave us her own bottle so we didn't have to make a cold bottle. The food was excellent and came out quickly and was a great night overall

Came here for a my in-laws 65 wedding anniversary with a group of 14. Got here a little early to indulge at happy hour prior to the party. What a fantastic selection of cocktails and BOURBON!! Bartender Gandy was astute speaking about their barrel bourbons. We went with the house old fashioned first then graduated to cask Buffalo Trace. A lot of them for everyone! Finally sat with our group and I ordered their Nashville Hot Chicken sand. What a great flavor profile! Appetizer of Burnt Ends is a must! Everyone else had BBQ for main meal but I’ll keep coming back for that Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich..can’t get it off my mind. Great place, great service, great food and fantastic bourbons!!

Toni the bartender was awesome. She was super knowledgeable about the history of this place and the menu. Did not see her stop moving for 2 hours. 15/10 service. Will be returning!!! Came with friends this past Friday for the foodie fest. Blew this place up to them cause it’s been great to me in the past….. Food was cold coming out and the Texas “toast” was basically bread on 2 of our Reuben’s. Such a downgrade from when I’ve come before. Service was great but our food was well below par for price.

I was in Lakleand for the day and decided to check out Mojo, and let me tell you, the vibe and decor were totally chill. Our server was super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Started off with the burnt ends, and they didn't disappoint. Onion rings were bomb too. But, the brisket and wings? Dry as a desert. It felt like they've been sitting around forever and got reheated. Kinda bummed out about that, to be honest. Overall, cool place, but they gotta step up their meat game.

This is our third different location we’ve tried and it didn’t disappoint. Burnt ends were superb. Split a 3 meat platter and there was more than enough to go around. Only thing I would like is a sauce with some heat. Please update your on line menus. Especially since you don’t serve lunch or have happy hour on weekends.

Love this place for the food, excellent bar service, and beautifully restored old building vibe. Huge bar selection and they had my favorite whiskey- High West Double Rye. I got the brisket salad so I could earn the side of Mac and cheese which was the best I’ve had in years! Looking forward to coming back.

First time here and it was amazing! The menu offers bbq & southern dishes w a great cocktail list. Everything was fresh, hot & well prepared, our waiter was patient and attentive and the patio was clean with a nice view of the surrounding area. The restaurant also offers an extensive bar inside which many other customers said they loved. 10/10

We just finished our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner at Mojo Federal and it was a fantastic experience. Gandy and Josh were very attentive and thoughtful hosts. All of the customer service was exceptional from the time we arrived until we were ready to leave. We were able to decorate the area we used and they set the tables as we requested. The food was delicious and was more than enough for our event. I would highly recommend Mojo to anyone needing a restaurant for a special event. Thank you guys for a perfect afternoon!

The best wings in Lakeland fl,so far you could taste the smoke cooked perfectly. Try the onion rings the batter was very light, but crunchy had a good taste not greasy at all

The food did not meet the expecting that the price indicated.

This restaurant is in a historic building in Downtown Lakeland. Even though the building is old, though, it is definitely worth going to. The food was excellent. We had pulled pork and a brisket sandwich with mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole, corn, and mashed potatoes and gravy. Everything was very flavorful and the sandwich had just as much meat as the plate. They have five different barbeque sauces on each table. The service was excellent as well. Josh was very attentive and had a good personality. Overall, this is one of our new favorite barbeque restaurants.

Man this place makes downtown smell great. Unfortunately, that is the best thing they have going for them. From the time we walked in the front door the night was a disappointment. Staff can make or break a restaurant and this group is far from a team. The hostess and a waitress were going at it about a table of customers that had just walked out for not being served. That should have been our red flag to turn around and leave. We however stayed. The place was half full at 5pm on a Saturday. Tables were not bused, floors were disgusting. Luckily they sat us with G. He was decent but not great. No explanation of anything just a…what do you want kind of attitude. We tried the wings…the best thing on the plate was the blue cheese dressing. The wings were fatty and tough. Then we had a pulled pork sandwich…there was absolutely no smoke taste and in my opinion there sauces sucked. If I didn’t know I was in a bbq joint I’d swear it was baked pork. The fried chicken dinner was ok. Nothing spectacular. Witnessing the staff argue about who was going to clean a table that appeared to have been a child’s birthday party was embarrassing to say the least. They would come over and be overtly pissed off that they had to clean the mess then they would just turn around and leave. One girl, I believe the hostess, actually said the F word loud enough for my fiancé to hear. We did not have anything to drink but waters, so with our standard 20%tip we spent $62. Upon leaving my fiancé said the women’s restroom was grossly unkept. Doesn’t surprise me. There are other great places in downtown Lakeland, take my word try them instead.

In town visiting friends and family so I wanted a local place to try. Service was outstanding. I would consider myself a bit of an onion ring snob. Highly recommend them, perfect blend of savory and sweet. Smothered chicken was perfectly cooked, not overcooked which tends to happen when you order it smothered. Jalapeño cornbread had just the right amount of jalapeño. Mac n cheese was very creamy and cheesy. Cocktails were strong, which is not a bad thing. Will definitely be a returning customer.

When you first walk in you can smell the amazing smoky smell and we were seated by a gentleman right away. We chose outside because it was a beautiful day, the server was very nice and attentive we never felt like we were even waiting. We got the 2 meats with ribs and chicken with fries and Mac N cheese. It was delicious! The sauces are homemade, even the ranch and they are packed with flavor! I can't wait to come back and try the catfish and banana pudding! Thank you for such awesome service it really makes for such an amazing time spending money I shouldn't be :)

This place has always appealed to me, but I had never been. My friend and I decided to go for dinner on a Monday. Upon entering, the interior is very rustic and casual. I thought the vibe was chill. We ordered onion rings as our appetizer, to which we do not recommend it. They looked like they would taste good, but they did not. Onions were too thick inside, and the fried batter was practically seasoning-less. I ended up ordering the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. The brisket was dry and gristle-ly and I have had much better. The homemade bbq sauces they offered were good, though. My Mac n cheese was great. My friend did not like her sandwich either. I ordered the white wine sangria, which was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. It was so sweet and tasty. Overall, the prices are a little high, so I wish some of the food tasted better. I don't think I'll be back for dinner, but instead, I'll be back for drinks.

Great service. The decor is on point. Masculine. I got pulled pork, collard greens, and garlic, cheese, grits. The grits and pork were my favorite part. For apps we had chicken nachos and pork quesadillas. So good!

Some great food to choose from, I love their fries too. But the true stars of the show are the bartenders. You feel a part of the team with how attentive and considerate the bar staff works. And the kitchen staff I’ve cross paths with before, and they really do take pride in their work. The club sandwich is one of the best things going too! Great mixed drink too!

Atmosphere was great, feels like one of those first date type of places (a little dark). You walk in and it has this nice smell of smoked food. I really wanted to like this place but it first let me down with the poor service(slow). They give you that vibe that they have already judged and measured you by your appearance or whatever they do, assuming that we are poor tippers or what not( I always tip well even with bad service) or maybe he just had a bigger table, who knows. It was not welcoming at all. Now for the food…. I had no smoke flavor on any of it which was a disappointment. My guests ordered a pulled pork sandwich she said it was a Sonny’s level sandwich . The BBQ bacon burger had the skinniest piece of bacon I’ve ever seen and just a dab of BBQ sauce total disappointment and the Shrimp and grits were tasty but the grits were mushy(old looking)like they sat around too long. Being in the south a lot of restaurants fail at grits, so I’m use to this. It is a high bar to reach. Pros: The fries and sweet potato mash are both really good. Also the burger serving itself was a good size amount. The host at the front was very nice when we were leaving. I’m just leaving my personal opinion, it might’ve been a bad day for them. I feel they are $2-$4s over priced per plate for what’s served. Thank you!

What a great food destination! We had the mojo club, beef brisket sandwiches and a bunch of sides. Wonderful flavor on all the meats. Good sized portions. Great atmosphere. Everything was spot on and DELICIOUS. Loren was our server. Located in Lakeland at 130 S. Tennessee.. in an old building in a cute downtown area. All around a positive experience

I've been here several times and it's always enjoyable.

The first time I went here was for my granddaughters graduation and I was very impressed with the Smoked turkey breast. It was very tasty. I went back for a 2nd time and it was just as good. I even took a friend to experience it as well. Unfortunately I went back for a 3rd time and I was very disappointed. The turkey was so dry until I had to put chicken broth on it and steam which didn't help at all. Mind you we're coming from Orlando. My feelings were so hurt because I was very hungry. I ended up throwing it in the trash. 20 bucks and all of my time and gas gone to waste. . We waited 30 minutes for them to open and we were their 1st customers for the day. The mashed potatoes were good and so was the gravy but that turkey was awful and the slices were so small this time. This is why I don't like to go to restaurants when 1st opening. You get leftover food from the night before and I think I got some leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Sad and disappointed

We went there on a Sunday afternoon after a trip to the Polk museum. The food was great. The room is nice. The waitress was friendly and helpful and explained (when I asked) that the name comes from the fact it used to be a federal building. Five stars for everything. Good work. If we're in Lakeland again, we'll drop in again.

Best drinks and bartenders around!!!

While visiting friends in Lakeland they suggested going to MOJO FEDERAL. I had never been there before. It was a Tuesday around 1:30 in the afternoon so the resturant was relatively empty from the lunch crowd. The waitstaff was great, Josh was his name. The atmosphere was nice. I loved the decor of the inside and the way that they incorporated the old original brick of the building and didn't cover everything up with drywall and paint. But what abou the food? It was wonderful We were a party of four and all the food came out at the same time. It was hot and tasty and we don't have any complaints what so ever. One person in our party is Gluton free and MOJO had a menu that could accommodate this person and thier food was wonderful as well. The prices aren't too high, and they aren't too low, but the portions are well more than what you pay for and we were all stuffed at the end of the meal. This is an establishment that we would definately go back to when we are in the area.

Went in for an afternoon snack and some drinks. Had the margarita which was great and the pulled pork quesadilla which was also delicious. Jacob was our server and he was amazing !! He was very attentive to our needs and made sure that we were doing good at all times. Would highly recommend asking for him when you go in!!

Birthday Meal....Salmon Salad was blackened and very good!! Father's Day 2023....Pictured are the Pork Ribs(5), Chicken(5), Pulled Pork(5), Smoked Turkey(5), Smoked Hot Link(4) and Brisket(1). The Brisket was like dry leather and not edible today as pictured, this despite requesting wet brisket, what a bummer!! The winner today was that Smoked Turkey, how have i not ordered this here before, good lord, pass on the Brisket more of the Smoked Turkey please!! That Onion Ring plate(5) will not be forgotten any time soon, it was delicious as were the French Fries(5). The Baked Beans(4) we doubled up on as they are always delicious and did not disappoint this time around. Will definitely return but I just cannot recommend ordering the Brisket, this is the 3rd visit where the brisket was a giant let down!!
