The best subs in town and farther and the BEST prices of any sub shop. They definitely bet out Union subs.

Guy cutting the meat expects you to understand the process of how to order. They need to hire someone to speak to customer before passing it off to the guy that you order your sandwich with. The guy looks like he hates his job. Sandwich was mid.

This sub shop is truly stellar. Having just discovered this shining gem, I wish to direct other wise people searching for a superb sub shop, there. There are many aspects that render this place worthy of praise. It is pristinely clean, the menu options are extensive, the service is patient,helpful and courteous. Most importantly the food is fresh and cut upon ordering. No mystery meat, nor precut slices are slapped on doughy subpar bread, in miserly portions, here!! The portions on their submarine sandwiches are fresh, generous and the prices are excellent. Quality food in a friendly atmosphere, a solicitous and accomodating owner/staff and a good value for the prices. No price gouging,no impersonal assembly line, no skimping on food&no off-putting unhygienic smells nor handling of the food. Mr. Sub has been in this business for decades and the integrity, passion for his business,product and customer satisfaction shines through. Chef's 💋 kiss.

I enjoyed size and taste, the meat is always fresh.

The town has changed tremendously in the past dozen years but the quality, value respect and appreciation that Joe and his team genuinely show toward ALL customers hasn’t changed. The team works hard and there is frequently a wait at peak times but that’s understandable for an establishment that is one of the best in the state. Worth a special trip.

All my wife and I can say is WOW! We usually split a half of a sub and that's it, but I heard great things about the food that I decided to get a whole chicken cutlet W/ red peppers and mozzarella and save half of it for dinner, but fagetabouit. We ate the whole freakin sub in one sitting and did not eat anything else the rest of the day just to savor the taste in our happy bellies. The name, Mr. Sub of Union does not give it justice. It should be called by the owners name, Giuseppe’s Subs. Truly the best we’ve had all throughout the tri-state area. Don't believe me? Wait until you try.

I dont understand less then 5 starrs. Been coming here almost weekly since I started working in Union durin COVID. I get a half #52. with L,O,T,Vin,mayo and hot cherry's. I have always considered myself a sub snob. I travel all over NY and NJ tying to find the best sub and pizza. This place is my top 2. The other is near long branch. They are sooo consistent as far as size. A half for less then $7. Hot peppers add .50. A lot of the reviews here talk about the guy cutting the meat! Sometimes he seems grumpy or racist or.... People need to have thicker skin....He just old school. The guy dont stop. He knows every # on the board and is always on point. Sometimes I here him yell but thats what I like. Old school fogettabout it! He knows no color. Just needs you to say what ya want when busy. Today a girl came in and wanted a sloppy Joe he said what 2 meats. She said IDK, its for my friends just do roast beef. He said call them Im not gonna make a sandwich they dont like.... lol sure enough beef and turkey. He smiled and started slicing. When u stand on line its like being in a barber shop people laughing joking, always fun. I can 100% Say the whole place is my style. Old school great sanggguage! I wish I could do more then 5 stars. I got a tuna salad sub. Excellent value for what you get. Very fresh. Chicken Parm is not their strength.

There are no better sangwiches made in America than at Mr. Sub of Union NJ. I've been around. No.1 freshest, most delicious sangs on bread made so perfect for these ridiculously high end sangs at ridiculously low prices. A jewel of a throwback. I dare someone tell me different.

I always drive by this place and since my son is off, took him there. The staff was nice and made sure that us being there for the first time knew exactly what we were ordering. I got a turkey sandwich and my son got the chicken cutlet. Both sandwiches were amazing and my son complimented that this was the best he had and like wise same for me. I asked him what would u rate it he gave 5 stars out of 5. So for a ten year old think he knows what he's talking about. Will be coming back here often.

Mr. Sub is the only sub shop I'll go to! I've been ordering from Joe when I was kid at the original spot and today I finally visited the new location which opened 5 years ago. I just moved back to town and the food is still fresh! No better value in town!

Mr Subs have all the sub you can imagine and the price wasn't too bad

You get a lot for your money, probably more than any other sub shop!!! Bellybuster is amazing, and even the half sandwich was huge. Friendly staff and fast service too. Seating area is a plus. Cash only, and there's an ATM inside.

Went in at 11:30am to get my lunch, didn’t leave with my sandwich till 12noon!! Way too long to wait for a sandwich, yes they are fantastic but when you prioritize the phone orders over customers in line it’s not a good look. Plus hire someone who can do the phone orders instead of the same guy doing all the sandwiches

Used to love eating here the sandwiches are bomb but the guy that works there I don’t know what his deal is. He always has a disgusting attitude. I don’t Want to play the race card here but it made me so uncomfortable I just decided to never go back.

Was in around 1:30 on a Monday. Not terribly busy. Had to wait a couple minutes. To call the menu extensive will be putting it mildly. If you can't find something here to eat, question the decisions that led you to this point. Due to my gluttonous nature, I went with the "belly buster" h-basically an Italian with some extra meat. The bread, toppings, meat, etc -- all of it extremely fresh and delicious. The full size is absolutely enormous. There's at least two meals for a normal human. One of the better delis I found in the area for sure. I will be back.

Great sandwich, and I am very picky. The owner cool old school Italian man, Love it. Service fast and knows his menu which has 78 different sandwiches. If you like a great sandwich go there if seriously. Oh and the prices are ridiculous lower than any place I have eaten in 10 years, really no joke people this place is great!!!

If in Union on Chestnut street you have to stop by Mr.Subs!!!!!!!!! Excellent service,great prices on every single homemade sandwich!!!!!!!!!! You won’t eat anything but subs for a week once you try them with there juicy whole pickles they have near the drink coolers!!!!!!!!!

Mr.Sub is old school and wonderfulness! I’m a child of the 80’s, you could go to a corner store get a real deal sandwich. That is this place, the absolute best deli sandwiches around. But be warned, this is a cash only place. But the sandwiches are affordable and large portions. And parking is annoying because they only have 3 spots in the back.

CarMichael Pugliese,perhaps you are confusing this eatery/subshop with the garbage you normally get from 7 Eleven or Subway. I'm originally from Elizabeth,and have been here for the fresh prepared subs several times over the years. I've never had a issue with staff or freshly prepared subs. I admit,its been a few years since I've been there due to moving out of state. However,I will be going there the week of October 18th. to enjoy the freshness and courtesy I've always received. Yes. I'll be driving 3.5 hours from NY State to get my favorite subs here,and get a real Pizza from Elizabeth. So maybe ,and not judging,but maybe your displeasure is due to eating a grab and go from the afore mentioned establishments. Best subs in Union County can be found here. Will see this place soon and leave with a happy heart and smile on my face.

Mr sub needs no explanation. Subs are always fantastic, and you cant beat the price and size. They are always busy and take cash only, wiht an ATM on premises.

As soon as I walked into MR. Sub I felt like it was going to be like a Jersey Mike's, but the service was so unlike an assembly line you just know the food was going to be a step above. The sandwiches were excellent with prices that are equally as good. The menu is extensive with many different choices (I plan on trying them all) stop by and see Joe he and his crew will set ya up with heaven on sandwich. What ever one you choose you can't go wrong.

This is the best sub shop in Union County, for sure. Delicious fresh cold cuts, piled high, fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, and salt/pepper/oil/vinegar - perfection! Friendly service, nice seating area. Had no idea that a half a sub is enough sandwich for two people, so we have another lunch for tomorrow. Highly recommend!
