Quick service and excellent food and service!!!

Great food! Good service! Friendly atmosphere.

We stop here often the last few stops it's always new employees, and the attitudes are worse each time, zero friendliness arguing with each other. This time we get home 20 minutes away to realize they shorted us on our order.

This place has it all, you will not leave disappointed, jars of jams and jelly and different salsa and sauces, they always have something we like

The easiest way to explain how EXCELLENT this place is. It's a two hour one-way drive, and it's worth it! When you pull up it feels like a stage coach stop, inside like a general store, and atmosphere and service close to family. I've never taken anyone and not have them ask "when's the next trip here!" Make the drive, check out the couple other shops before you eat. Because after you eat, well you may over do it. Pick a dessert, even cobbler Al a mode. Yeah, this fat guy was done. LOL

My 4th time to eat here. GREAT brisket and sides.Order at the counter and they bring it to you. They have bakery items, candies, and more. I bought some peanut brittle and it was the BEST I have ever eaten. BBQ sandwich a side and drink for just over $10.

My favorite chopped brisket sandwich in the state. Plus if you’re traveling with pets they have a fun outdoor area to sit. Texas monthly needs to try this place next.

I can live on BBQ! As a customer whose local this is my go to BBQ place. And don't forget their cookies!!! Their Snickerdoodle is amazing!!!!

They have a GIANT ROCKING CHAIR!! What else do you need?! They do have food, sweets, and home goods. It's like a little wester settlement. Check it out!

Best barbecue room. Those ribs are mouth watering good. And if he's never had baked potato salad. You are missing out ghostlaws. The bomb turkey, all of their mates are wonderful

Stopped here for lunch off the highway. The food is fresh and absolutely delicious- I’d definitely recommend the ribs, brisket, and baked potato salad. It can get a bit crowded around lunchtime (~10 minute wait to order) but service keeps it moving and it is well worth it!

The food was excellent, but down rated bc they had like 6 teenagers serving the food which took forever to get. Looked like the teens didn't know what they were doing. I think the management needs to provide more training. The order tickets just kept stacking up, and they were only getting one table of food out every 10 minutes when we were there. So two orders in front of us took 20 min for us to get a chopped beef sandwich. Cute place and nice people, but too slow

Natty Flat never disappoints. Pulled pork sandwich was awesome and their Baked Potato Salad is what dreams are made of. Definitely worth the trip.

The chopped brisket was to die for... always a good meal at Natty Flats. Took my friend, and I had to get her picture in the giant chair. It was a lot of fun!

Great spot for a big plate and smoked brisket and jalapeño smoked sausage. The sides were all very good too! Fast service. Log cabin feel. Good county music playin’.

Best sliced brisket sandwich anywhere!

I recommend trying this place in a very rural community. The area is quiet and safe. The food was delicious. The desserts were not the highlight but tasty nonetheless. I suggest a 2 meat plate or Smoked Chicken Sandwich. Fun and unique experience! Don’t forget to go next door and check out the store and huge wooden rocking chair!

First time I have been there since before Covid. I remember it being great... It still is! BBQ, sides, deserts, service. All great. And true Texas BBQ.

I don't go here as much as I'd like to but I have been here a handful of times. The food and the atmosphere are always great. They give off a country home town vibe great choice of music in the background as well as amazing cold drinks in glass bottles. The option for toppings on the food is set up buffet style which allows you to get as many toppings as you'd like. They also have two different types of barbecue sauce on the tables. Always have nice people and good service on top of a clean building. This is probably one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in that area. If you haven't tried this restaurant I would definitely suggest giving them a shot.

Found this during travel. Great stooping location. Food was fabulous - both in the store and the bakery items from the bakery were delicious. The furniture store has many great things.

Natty Flat catered our wedding and it could not have been better! They are SO friendly and their service both inside the restaurant and catering is impeccable. To this day people comment how amazing the BBQ was at our wedding. A huge thanks to Natty Flat for providing such great food and service!

Ever want to combine eating out with a bit of adventure? If so - and even if not - you should check out the Natty Flats Smokehouse in Lipan, TX! It’s kind of like stepping back in time where the food is good, the atmosphere is classic Americana, and the people are genuinely warm and helpful. From Ft Worth, just hop in your vehicle, take 20 west, and about 19 miles west of Weatherford, take the exit for 281. You’ll turn left (south) and drive through picturesque rural Texas. Eventually, on your right, you’ll see a big sign for Natty Flats as well as “the largest rocking chair in the world that is made of cedar!” (Honest - it’s in the Guinness book of records). When you pull into the parking lot, you’ll see 4 wooden buildings: a bakery (that also serves breakfast and lunch), a gift shop, the Natty Flats Smokehouse, and a furniture store. At the Smokehouse, the bar-b-que is tender, the coke slaw is crisp, and the beans are interesting because they have bits of meat served on top! My niece and her husband also gave a big thumbs up to the smoked chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and the brisket sandwich. Note: while a bottle on the table indicates that the sauce is hot, it really isn’t. If you are in the mood for desserts, they have it all: fried pies, cobbler, ice cream, and shakes. Oh, and old fashioned candy sticks and canned jellies. So you may be thinking, “Ok, the food is good and the people welcoming, but why make this special trip?” The answer: the giant chair isn’t the only item that is fun to explore! When you open the door to the smokehouse, notice the counter levers on the lower right side that move as you enter the store. After paying for your order at the register (you save a little if you pay cash vs card), watch the person put your receipt in a clip that is attached to a wire that is over the head of the employee and goes the width of the store. The person will give it a quick swat to get it to the person on the other side of the room who will assemble your order. After picking a table to wait for your order, look for a framed newspaper article that explains how Natty Flats got its name (at least the “Natty” part”) The adventure continues when you ask where the restrooms are: turns out that the two outhouses next to the parking lot are functional! Luckily, however, the insides have all the modern amenities. As you leave the outhouse, be sure to read the sign about the hanging weather rock. The last note was my favorite. PS And if you want to extend your adventure, you could drive from Natty Flats to Hico to buy chocolate made by the couple who run the shop in a Victorian house and then take a picturesque drive to Granbury before returning home. Afterall, no need to deal with long lines at the airport when you can explore the many treasures of Texas!

This was our first time eating here and the food was great! The employee at the register was very helpful with answering all of our questions and giving suggestions. We had the frito pie, stuffed tater and pulled pork sandwich! Everything tasted FANTASTIC! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The prices were comparable to other barbecue places I’ve been. 10/10

Cool place. Brisket was good but dry. Smoked bologna, beans and coleslaw was great.

Don't stop, just keep driving. It's a tourist trap. If you're headed South, go on to Stephenville and find something else. If you're headed North, there are some fast food places just a few miles ahead. I don't know how in the HELL this place has more than 3 stars because its as average as you can get. The people giving this place a good rating must have never had bbq before, at least any that was good, and /or never eaten any good food. The brisket was dry and little flavor. The ribs had NO flavor. No season, no rub. ??? The pulled pork was ok... The mac and cheese is terrible, like something you would get at a bad hospital cafeteria. The "bbq beans" are cheap baked beans with a little of the dry chopped brisket thrown on top, and a little sauce, which didn't save them from tasting cheap. The best thing on my plate was the potato salad, which is just the typical. The "tater salad" which is like twice baked potatoes was good. I have eaten BBQ all over Texas. I have had good BBQ, and great BBQ, this is neither. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Don't waste your money.

Really good chopped brisket and always love their baked potato salad!

Ordered Lg sliced brisket and 2 sides (slaw and baked tater salad) to go. When I got home, sandwich wasn't sliced but chopped. Meat had no flavor, very bland. The slaw had a different taste and texture for which I didn't care for. The baked tater salad was the only thing I liked. Next time I pass this place, I will pass. Plus, usually when you see a Help Wanted sign on door, you can expect less than stellar customer service. Kids working the counter never offered a greeting or a may I help you (just stare at you like what u want).

Extremely disappointed, must have new management. Ordered a "large" ham sandwich. Watched them pull the meat out of the fridge, microwave it then smash it in the bun. On top of that the amount of meat is comparable to a kids happy meal at McDonald's all this for $10.

Thus is just great Texas BBQ. My recommendations would be too long to list. Favs are baked potato salad, jalapeño sausage, and the peach cobbler. Of course all the meats are great. The nostalgic atmosphere is really cool, not to mention the giant rocking chair.

Let me say that I'm a truck driver so I'm always pass in new places and trying different kind of food so me and my sunrise with me and decided to stop in to get something to eat honestly when I walk through the door I was about to turn around I all white staff and everybody that was eating it was white so I was like nah I don't want to deal with this today but I was greeted when I first came through the door which made me feel a little more comfortable and the atmosphere was calm so I decided to stay and eat the food was amazing the service was good 👍 check them out if you ever in the area

Always have recieved good service and food here. Highly recommend it. We love both locations and visit both regularly it just depends on which way we are heading home. Their baked potato casserole is amazing! Their bbq is priced fairly and the quality is amazing.

Been here several times. It's a little pricey, but most good BBQs are these days. If they aren't crowded try eating in, the ambiance is great. Can a barbeque place have ambiance? Lol

I stopped in there today, but did not know if I was going to order ribs or not because I have a sensitive stomach and cannot do anything spicy. They were so nice. They gave me a large sample to try and oh my God those ribs were melt in your mouth. Wonderful! I wound up buying an order to go. if you are in the area this is a definite must eat at place. I will definitely stop there when I go through again.

I love it here. The atmosphere is beyond amazing. Get there early on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the fried pies.

If I could give a under one star I would, We ordered the Rib dinner and a combo dinner, the ribs were dry and old, the briskets was really dry and the sausage was not even cooked, COLD. We also had a baked potato that was green on the in side, could tell it was old, also the coleslaw and the baked potato salad, ALL OLD. This was the worst BBQ we have ever had .

Had a chopped brisket sandwich, was pretty tasty. They have a couple bbq sauce bottles on the tables, mild and hot, but the hot wasn't hot sadly. Really cool spot. Also don't miss the largest cedar rocking chair out front.

Great BBQ, take a step back in time with the rustic atmosphere, wooden tables and benches. Has the feel of an old west saloon.

Some of the best bbq I have ever had. Awesome food. Atmosphere that won't stop. And some very nice people. Going to make this a regular stop. I called right before closing ànd Julie was so nice and helpful. Then had ate their bbq and damn wish I could give 6 stars. A must stop for everyone......

What a hidden jewel!! The food is great and the ambiance is wonderful! We will definitely be back!!
