Very disappointing experience . When we first walked in the host refused to seat us at a larger table because they were closing in 30 min , she had us squeeze in a smaller table . She then continued to be unwelcoming and didn’t even take our order correctly . The food came and it was not flavorful like and ethiopian dish should be. As an Ethiopian the food didn’t feel authentic at all . The waitress then paid minimal attention to us and we had to ask for more water . Overall extremely poor service and food not up to par .

I travel 2 hours to come to this restaurant on my birthday and sometimes just ‘cuz. This place is my favorite restaurant in the whole world. The servers are lovely and the food is ALWAYS delicious. They have GF bread available. Just the right amount of heat; the pickled cabbage is perfect; lentils are fantastic and I crave them sometimes. Recommend the Taste of the Nile. Come here it’s fantastic

Love the food here. And if you order in advance they'll make teff injera, instead of injera made out of a mixture of wheat and teff.

I've never had Ethiopian food prior to going to Nile but wanted to try it for my birthday this year. The staff was very friendly, and they are also very helpful upfront if you're new to Ethiopian food and culture. I love coffee and was aware of the importance of coffee in Ethiopian culture so it was the first thing I ordered. The man waiting on us said that's fine if I wanted but that traditionally it's served after the meal so I decided to wait until the end. I tried the honey wine and again, the man waiting on us let me know how it's traditionally consumed and let me choose my own way. I'm vegetarian and was really appreciative that when my friend ordered meat, he said that he would serve us on separate dishes. The food was amazing, the honey wine was amazing, the service was amazing and the restaurant looks like a little museum. Unfortunately I don't live in Orlando but I'm thankful Nile was my first experience with Ethiopian food, and I've ordered Ethiopian multiple times from my local restaurant since coming back. If I'm ever in Orlando again, I will make sure to come back. And if you were wondering, yes the coffee was worth the wait. :)

Service was great and food was all delicious but for the first time we felt the price did not match the plate we shared at a restaurant. They also put a little basket of extra bread on the table and they tell you its extra for the basket if you end up needing it. That little bread basket was exactly $9! There is also a 3.99% surcharge for using credit card ($2) and a 18% gratuity tip charge. No problem but make sure you ask how much for the extra bread that they automatically put on the table. For the plate we shared and that extra bread total was $55 for things like lentils, greens, split peas type of food. It was great service and food but would we choose that over other places we love in the area? Most likely not because for $55 we can have a feast of at least 3 great dishes at one of our favorite restaurants. Even for the most expensive places we go, we could have gotten 2 huge plates at $25 each dish. I was honestly still hungry after that meal and i told the very nice server that it was great and i could have eaten another plate alone easily. Just our honest thoughts. No offense to the great staff. We are familiar with Ethiopian food and we personally prefer Salem which is down the street. Pictured below is the dish we shared with no meat and the $9 bread basket. Total $55. If you are ok with the prices definitely try them out.

Food was excellent! Best Ethiopian food we’ve had. Our waiter, Erm, was super friendly and explained the Ethiopian traditions of eating, which my husband and I enjoyed practicing while we enjoyed the food. To give a better picture of how awesome this restaurant is and its staff, I had realized later that evening that I was missing my purse. I called the restaurant after it had been closed for almost 2 hours, and Erm picked up. He confirmed that I left my purse at the restaurant and that he was on his way home. When he realized we were not locals, he volunteered to go back to the restaurant and deliver my purse to our hotel!! That action alone deserves more than 5 stars!! Besides that incident, everyone needs to try out the delicious dishes Nile Ethiopian has to offer. My husband and I enjoyed the Beef Key Wat the best and the Beef Alicha Wat was a close 2nd.

Absolutely fantastic in every way! Wonderful atmosphere, very kind host, delicious food. The Taste of Nile plate and sambusa are absolutely worth the trip. Don't be afraid to tell chef your spice level, they were very accomodating. Love that all the dishes were naturally vegan / plant-based and so flavorful. If it's your first time having Ethiopian be prepared to wash your hands before you eat as the food is served with delicious injera bread rather than silverware. We shared a large plate and ate family style, it was such a treat! Can't wait to visit Orlando again so we can go back 💜

Felt adventurous and decided to give this place a try, glad I did. It’s a very unique place and you definitely get a feel for the Ethiopian culture. Got the Chefs special with some of their wine and coffee. Food was delicious and different. Came with many a few options similar to small plates. Some of the best coffee I’ve had and our server gave us a run down on how they drink it and what they eat it with back at home! Price is very reasonable and they have cool little huts to get a bit more of a cultural feel. Worth a check out!

I have visited this restaurant twice. The first time I had a poor service experience, but the food was excellent. I gave them a second chance, thinking everyone could have an off night. For my second visit, I went during lunch instead of dinner to avoid the crowd. The azifa is so flavorful and spicy. Pairs perfectly with the injera. The lamb tibs is tender and full of flavor. I spiced it up and have no regrets. Compared to another Ethiopian restaurant in the area, this food tastes more authentic. It’s definitely worth stopping in.

We don’t know what happened, but my friend and I spent 1.5 hours waiting for just the appetizer. Others were served before us who had come in after, and one couple that came right after us ultimately had to leave before they could receive their food because they had another event to attend. After 90 minutes, the waitress puts napkins down. Think this means food is coming? Wait another 20 minutes for sliced tomatoes and cold, dry lentils with bread (our appetizer). Then wait another 15 minutes for the 2 entrees. During this time, because no one has refilled the empty water glasses, you’ll need to head up to the bar to ask the bartender to spare you some H2O. They were apologetic in the end, but the 2 times we inquired, they would say “it’s ready” and “it’s coming.” Think this place would benefit from setting expectations on time estimates before orders are submitted. Food was good, but I won’t be returning.

The restaurant was a bit busy and it took awhile to get our drinks and for our order. An amazing gentleman waited on us and was an amazing host. Taught us the traditional way to eat the food, my wife was supposed to feed me… I got two bites out of her 😂🫶. Talk about delicious and filling! Before we left the gentleman came over and introduced himself as the owner. He said because of our wait the food is on him… unbelievably kind of him. Of course we argued with him a bit and made sure when he turned his head we left money on the table. This gentleman was the type of guy to chase us down in the parking lot and make us take our money back… I guarantee it. We skedaddled out of there before he noticed. What a kind gesture and a great experience. If you’re ever in Orlando, please try Nile Ethiopian Restaurant Orlando you won’t be disappointed!

I was recently in Orlando for a conference and thought to check out this restaurant as I had heard and read great reviews about this place. Unfortunately, upon reaching the place the restaurant was closed that day due to some issues. Me and my husband spoke to talk to the owner who expressed he was sorry we didn't get a chance to try out the food and to our surprise, he promptly offered to drop us back at our hotel as we had come a long way to try the food. We were hesitant at first but he was really sweet and insisted that we let him do it. This gesture just showcased his hospitality and commitment to customer satisfaction. During our ride back to the hotel, he shared insights about the restaurant, its offerings, and the Ethiopian cuisine that left us even more eager to dine there in the future whenever we visit again. Until then, I knew I had to write to review and appreciate him for going above and beyond :)

This is a true hidden gem of I-Drive. I've been here on both dates and casual dinners after theme park days, and I've never been disappointed. The prices are perfectly reasonable, the food is all incredibly flavorful, and the service is always out of this world. On top of that, the experience of eating with injera (the giant bread that your food is on) is really fun, and the waitstaff have always been great about educating and helping. That said, it wouldn't hurt to Google it once so you know what to expect. I usually split the Chef's Special (for two) with someone else, and it's a great amount. I love spicy food, and several of the meats probably fall into that category. However, there are plenty of mild options (even though I couldn't name any). Regardless, everything I've tried has very strong flavors--in a very, very good way. If you enjoy mead, definitely try Tej while you're there. You can also get Ethiopian coffee, which comes with a scaled-down version of a traditional coffee ceremony. Overall, highly recommended for anyone except the "only chicken fingers and pizza" types!

Ethiopian food is so rare in Florida and in most of the US that you can't pass up the opportunity to sample this unique cuisine. Food can be ordered either spicy or mild and features meat or vegetarian stews that are eaten communally over a large sourdough pancake (injera) made of high protein teff flour and is eaten with the hands and pieces of extra pancake. Ethiopian Coffee service which is roasted to order is not to be missed.

Yummy food. Great customer service. The atmosphere has a good vibe. Be patient (the wait time is lowkey long) and be prepared to eat goooood.

The chefs special was delicious and filling; the honey wine wasn't my fav but I will try another wine flavor on my next visit.
