The best Greek food outside of Greece! And such wonderful friendly staff, Jerry always treats you like family. We had a lot of items and as usual everything was excellent. Octopus, dolmas, mixed grill, Horatiki,grilled vegetables and no one can stop talking about the freshness and quality and taste of this amazing meal. Can't wait to return.

What an absolute amazing experience we had here. Five of us came and shared the mixed grill platter with a few appetizers and everything was absolutely spectacular. Jerry was an incredible host, I felt like I was in Greece.

It was a party of 5 and we ended up doing family style. Everything we ordered was delicious. Amazing atmosphere, food quality and freshness. Jerry was awesome!!!!

We went there about 2 month's ago and the food was wonderful and we really looked forward to returning. For whatever reason, both orders were overcooked and very dry.

Had the best lunch at this beautiful establishment today! Cozy well decorated authentic Greek food. Octopus and fried calamari are both a must have!!! The star of the show was the zucchini croquette's. Worth the trip from Manhattan. I will be back!

I had a beef and lamb platter to go and did not like it. The meat was chewy and a weird color and consistency. Definitely not fresh. Food was bland. I also ordered fried calamari, it was ok. Will not be returning.

If you're looking to go to Greece and simply cannot afford it like me.. this is basically the same thing. The greek family that runs Nisiotis Taverna makes such amazing and authentic greek cuisine. From the design to the music to the hospitality, Greece is literally right here in Teaneck, NJ. This hidden gem is the place to be this summer. Also... I must say I crave their gyro weekly... and with my super on-the-go job, their free delivery service has definitely come in handy more than once since I found out about it. Get to Nisiotis Taverna!! You won't regret it :)

Food is really fresh. We loved Jerry's customer service, however the girl in the cashier lack customer service, she must be nicer, seems like she's always mad. Once we entered she made us feel not welcomed. But still is a good restaurant!

Absolutely amazing. WOW. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. My family hosted a recent event at Nisiotis Taverna and to say that our experience was incredible would be an understatement! The staff was so warm and attentive. The owner & his family were all so kind and really made sure each guest felt catered to and welcome! The vibe of the restaurant was so cute & I loved that they had an outdoor section on the deck, which was so relaxing now that the weather is getting warmer. The food was insanely delicious and tasted like I was eating true authentic food made in Greece. You can tell the chef put love into each and every dish he made! The french fries were made fresh, peeled, and cut in the back, the Horiatiki was to die for, I couldve finished the whole dish on my own. Not pictured-the hummus & pita which I actually DID finish the whole dish on my own! So incredible my mouth is watering just looking back at these photos, even after eating the leftovers that I brought home. I cant wait to visit again, next time I am in New Jersey! 10000/10 must try!!

Authentic delicious Greek food with amazing service. I highly recommend this restaurant for a family night out, a get-together with friends, or a date night. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. We will definitely be returning.

We went for early dinner and I guess that’s why the lighting was glaringly bright. Our waitress was terrific, warm and friendly. We were disappointed with the food. The gyro platter was so full of food it was difficult to eat. The grilled octopus was cold. The Greek potatoes were tasteless. Maybe we just were there on an off night since it was a Wednesday.

Honestly, you do leave the restaurant with a new family. My family would fist fight each other but Nisiotis will cure it all. The food is amazing, tops every other Greek food. I cannot and will not have enough of it. Its all I dream about. The kids love it. It’s amazing to feel part of a family, especially if dining with Nisiotis.

This was the best food outside of Greece I have to say. Very friendly people with a great atmosphere topped off by awesome food … thank you very much ! We will come again !!!

I’ve been here twice, and the food was excellent both times. This last time we shared their fresh calamari appetizer and we each had their pan seared scallops over spinach. Both were outstanding. The staff is so nice. The owner, Chris, goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Enjoyed a bottle of white wine that we bought across the street. Finished our meal with espresso and cappuccino. Definitely recommend.

Great little gem in Teaneck with amazing food and service. Everything here was delicious but my personal recommendations would go to the breads and the lamb chops. The lamb chops are very tender and cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning so that you can taste the lamb yet it is not overpowering. The food arrived really fast upon order and service was warm and corteous.

Delicious fresh food!!! We got 2 Combo Gyros with fries. Better than what we had in Greece!!! The owner is extremely nice. The service was unbelievable. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!!!

Bravo Nisiotis. I came to eat the other night and was not disappointed, they hit the mark on everything. The fish was phenomenal, the meat was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The galaktodoureko was homemade, reminds me of my moms back in Greece. Our server was constantly checking to see if everything was ok, and if needed anything. We sat outside which was a plus we, got to enjoy this beautiful weather. Overall everything was well worth the trip. We will definitely be coming back soon.

The food here was fantastic! Lovely staff, affordable quality Greek food, AND there’s convenient liquor store right across the street for the BYOB option. They have a beautiful Grecian ambiance and also have a great outdoor patio. We will be back for dinner soon!

Nisiotis is the most genuine Greek food that money can buy! I'm Greek and nisiotis! (nisiotis means islander ) When I come here it is more than going to a restaurant, the food that comes to the table is just like when we get together in Greece ! Simple, really fresh and amazing. I feel I'm more than just a costumer and the relaxing atmosphere is so welcoming. My favorite plates are everything but above all is the Nisiotis Giouvetsi , the first bite brings me childhood memories. If you want to taste how Greek food is supposed to be Nisiotis is the place.

We recently had my dad's 90th birthday celebration at Nisiotis Taverna. The place is a gem. Dimitri and Veronica went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! Beautiful floral centerpieces on the tables and a special menu made especially for the party. The food was amazing and was presented beautifully. Everything was fresh and delicious. This is, by far, one of the best Greek restaurants I've been to. My only regret is that I can't go eat there more often since I live in Florida! I'll definitely go back there when I'm in NJ visiting. Thank you to Dimitri, Veronica and staff for making my dad's 90th birthday so memorable and delicious!

Authentic Greek taverna food. As a Greek from Greece, I am very picky with Greek food but this place is amazing. Everything was great and tasted like home. Owners and staff were super friendly as well. We will definitely become regulars.

As a Greek from Brooklyn, and a transplant to New Jersey, eating at Nisiotis made me feel like being in Greece again. Food was amazing and not overly salty, prices are spot on and the only thing I would say is raise the Greek music up a little, because the place is flawless! Okay, SO. I heard about this place from Instagram, and booked Valentines day, (luckily they had a time open for us- my initial phone in was met with such kind hospitality considering I was planning to bring a small child!) My husband and I ordered quite the lineup and we're so impressed the greeting, accommodations, and food alone, we weren't shocked to find the owners are such amazing people, it's such a small world! ❤️ we can surely recommend 100% of what we ate so we are already planning our next dining experience. BEWARE The kolokithokeftedes (zucchini fritters) are quite possibly the most irresistible I've ever had, that's coming from a native Greek😉 There is parking in the rear, so don't fret! καλή όρεξη! We can't get enough.

Felt like I was back in Greece! Intimate greek restaurant with all the home made greek food from souvlaki platters, fresh fish and traditional oven dishes. House wine is a must. Owner Chris and entire staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend for your dinner night out with your friends or family.

Chris and Dimitri, I can't thank you both enough for making my wife's birthday dinner a wonderful evening, amazing food, the Halloumi cheese app was delicious , greek salad perfectly dressed, the Branzino was fresh and cooked to perfection, we will be back for dinners and lunch but now for special occasions as well, both Chris and Dimitri really know how to treat a customer, menu has many great choices, take my word for it and ''TRY IT''

All of the dish were very good. If you are an adventurous eater, I would recommend the liver. I was surprised of it’s taste, I can see some would not like it bc of the smell but I think I would come back here just for that liver. If you want a full meal with appetizers and main entree, price does get very expensive really quickly. If the service was improved the price would definitely be justified. Food was great nonetheless so I would recommend anyone who are looking for an authentic greek food that aren’t heavily Americanized. The menu items are titled in Greek (I assume) though. I’m not too familiar with greek food so I had to look up items on my phone to see what they are. It would be really helpful if the restaurant provided more detailed descriptions of the menu items or even some pictures perhaps! Overall a good experience.

We were patrons of the restaurant's predessor Vasilis but recently went to Nisiotis, which changed hands recently. While I enjoyed Vasilis, I believe Nisiotis is a complete upgrade. The interior is very tasteful and understated, reminiscent of being in Greece. Dimitri and family have been in the food business for a long time & it shows. I love the simpler menu with the lunch options being an absolutely great way to unwind during the week. Standout dishes include the spreads (taramasalata and skordalia), spanokopita, and the Greek yogurt. Veronica was an amazing server - extremely personable and accommodating. This is a wonderful family restaurant and frankly, the most authentic, tasty Greek restaurant in the area. Lastly, the location is fantastic - plentiful parking and close to major highways. Nisiotis is a not-so-hidden gem!

I absolutely love this authentic Greek restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff and the cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the portions were big. I had the chicken souvlaki and it was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Greek food. You won't be disappointed!

Hidden gem in NJ!!!!! The new owners have really taken this cute homey restaurant to the next level. I travel all the way from NY and the food is always amazing and the service top notch. The kolokithokeftedes are a must get!

My experience at Nisiotis Taverna was nothing short of amazing. From the moment you enter the owners welcome you like their own. We ordered spreads, calamari, and a Greek salad to start. All the flavors were authentic with fresh ingredients used. I had the lamb chops for dinner which were tender and prepared perfectly. I also love that it’s BYOB with a liquor store conveniently across the street. I look forward to my next visit!!
