This place is very hole in the wall spot and I had the yummiest rolls (Mango Shrimp Roll & Crunchy Salmon Avocado Roll ) and my friend got the Lomo Saltado. Def would come back to try mor ! It's a place I feel like people probably drive by this place all the time and not know it's there because it’s so hidden. Great service , very attentive! The parking is in the back and a little confusing at first but def glad I stopped by for lunch ! This would be perfect spot for a date night so you can have a conversation without it being too hectic and loud like other places. They also have beautiful artwork on the walls that you can purchase! I like that they have so many food options incase there is someone that doesn’t like sushi! My Peruvian friend loved the Lomo Saltado (a traditional Peruvian 🇵🇪 dish) , she approves! 👍🏼

Lunch on a Friday. We had a great experience! We had spring rolls and japanese dumpling for appetizers. The ice tea was a special brew and the red sangria was so good that i had to have 2 haha We want to go back and try everything...Yum!

Old Heights feels like going to your favorite grandma’s house (the one you actually like) and having a great meal. Everything on the menu is good, the rotating specials are great, and the staff makes you feel right at home. A small and intimate dining experience.

So good! The waiter was super helpful in picking out the best sushi roll 🍣 😋 He was also very attentive in his service! I had ordered the Spicy Tuna roll and the Dynamite roll and they were so good we also ended up ordering the Tampa Lightning Roll which was like a combination of both the best parts of the other two!

Everything here is always amazing.

First of all. The waiter is amazing, he made sure you got what you ordered and will check up on you and make you feel welcomed. The food. I ordered two platters of sushi. Both very delicious and savoury, I personally recommend using the soy sauce with reduced sodium. Although my complaints are towards this fish with pearly white flesh, it was odd tasting and chewy. Dessert. I had a vanilla honey custard with strawberries and it was absolutely amazing. The sweetest of the custard and honey along with the tartness of the strawberry had a very complementary taste which made for an amazing dish. Overall, I highly recommend going here especially for special occasions. The sushi is great and along with the desserts. I will certainly be back. 8.7/10 -Akavir

this food is absolutely amazing. the chef is so kind and friendly. i ordered their sushi and it was delicious with so many options! i would recommend going here because of the large variety of options and just the environment itself is great. the one bad side is that they do have limited hours!

Get there and try anything! Seriously great food, waitstaff, and chefs - the total package. A long-time staple in The Heights with a personal favorite being the Spicy Tuna Roll. Take a date or just go solo, grab a beer, melt in with the small crowd of locals, and just enjoy all that OHB offers.

Great establishment with amazing food; large portions, and friendly staff. Phil, the owner, went above and beyond for our group, as well as everyone else in the restaurant. We ordered a few sushi rolls, gyozas, spring rolls, shrimp scampi, chicken parm sandwich, and a grilled cheese - everything was phenomenal! Will definitely be back when in town again.

Update: Still serving up great food with an excellent menu selection. Don't forget about the great service! Update: I've had their burgers now on three occasions and no kidding, best burger I've ever had hands down! The chef nailed it. The consistency is there, the flavor is there it's absolutely fantastic. Make sure you order bacon and an egg. You will have no regrets! The overall all experience was definitely a "very good" and well deserved rating of 4/5. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious! This place is definitely a hidden Gem in the Old Seminole Heights area. The seating area is small with about seven total tables and a small bar top with about 4-5 chairs but that adds to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. My wife and I started with the escargot places over bread pudding, port & garlic herbs. It was delicious, savory and mouthwatering and escargot was tender. For the main entree she had the scallops parsnip puree, roasted fingerling potatoes, green beans. The scallops were cooked to perfection, tender and just the right amount of caramelization, tender and juicy. The potatoes and green beans were seasoned perfectly and cooked well. I ordered the 1/2 roasted Chicken pan jus, garlic mash potato, asparagus. This is every bit of a half of chicken and the portion size was more than adequate. The was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. The flavor of the seasonings went very well complimented the overall meal. The garlic mash potato's were heavenly delicious and savory, I could not stop eating them. I would definitely return here. The overall experience was definitely favorable and the food was very good along with courteous, professional and attentive service.

We came here for lunch. Honestly, I think this might be the best place in the neighborhood for food. Jury may still be out as we haven't had dinner here. The menu actually might be a bit too deep. It could be reduced. We had the Po Boy, String Rolls, and Lomo Saltado and we'd 100% get these items again. Everything tasted fresh, and priced correctly (at least for lunch).

We went to Olde Heights Bistró because the reviews were so great and the reviewers were right— it’s absolutely delicious food in a sweet, cozy atmosphere. We tried the spicy tuna sushi for an app. It stood out from the standard sushi fare. The chef knows to take something that everyone does and just make it better. We ordered the filet with the risotto and the ravioli. Both were excellent. It was the Japanese custard that took the cake though. Service was great. The kitchen really cares about the food!!

There is just something a bit more personal about dining in locally-owned restaurants. As soon as I walked in, the chef and the server (Robert) made me feel like I was entering a friend's house for a special meal. The food was delicious!! The beet and goat cheese salad, Loma Saltado, and Japanese Curry are all so good, they justify the drive from wherever you are reading this. I can't wait to go back to try more!

Food & sake were good and Robert was very friendly & helpful. He even made sure I got across the street safely. I'll definitely be back.

Eating at the Olde Heights Bistro was a truly life-affirming experience. The sushi was phenomenal, the service impeccable, the general atmosphere - good as it gets. I give my compliments to the chef/owner, the legendary sushi master, lovely Lauren behind the bar, and the friendly guests we shared the bar with. 10/10 would recommend. Leaving the restaurant with a happy, full belly and a reminder of what life is really about!! Thank you!! ❤️🌟

What a gem! I lived in Japan for a year and 99 / 100 sushi places are just okay. Do yourself a favor and get the real thing here. They offer other items that sound tempting that I haven’t tried yet…I was so satisfied to find a real sushi joint!

My favorite restaurant in Tampa. The chefs are world traveled and experts in their cuisine, you will find no better tasting or quality meal in town! I eat here for lunch and dinner no less than once a week. The Lomo Saltado is the best meal I’ve ever had. The restaurant has limited seating, so larger parties should call ahead or make a reservation. Don’t not miss out on trying this local gem.

Overall mediocre experience with the price not matching quality of food. Had the nigiri plate and curry. Nigiri was poor quality what you would expect from a buffet. For the price of 26$ I was expecting a nicer quality of fish and rice. Tuna was pale and not fresh. Curry was a decent standard curry but not worth the 22$. Maybe the experience would be different with other types of food. The ambiance was nice and everything was clean. Service was excellent.

Greeted at the door by a dog (big) (I don't care if it is friendly). Especially for a place with seven tables. The dog wanders the restaurant at its leisure. I am at a loss on how restaurants don't see the liability issue with animals in their establishments. The food was good enough.

This is a cute little spot with delicious food options. The sushi was superb, and I also got the heights turkey and it is probably one of the most flavorful sandwiches I've had in a while. Also had a glass of red sangria which was just as amazing. Customer service was impeccable. Highly recommend visiting this spot

This wonderful hole in the wall is actually one of the best places to eat in all of Tampa. Chefs Phil & Shima understand food, flavor, & the importance of fresh — they are extremely talented and creative. I even hired them to cater a birthday party and it was better than I could have imagined. Love these guys, love this place! Get the Japanese Katsu for dinner and the Caprese Sandwich for lunch!

The food is excellent and the Bistro is charming. There is a bar inside and those that sat around it all seemed to know each other. Very welcoming and we will return 😊👍

Wow, where to even begin. Came in here as a fallback option on my anniversary since other restaurants have been hard to get into lately. As soon as we entered the bistro I knew we were at the right place. Very casual and cozy, smooth jazz coming from the tiny kitchen, and the service was like being at your friends house for dinner. Our waitress Sarah explained to us how ingredients are purchased fresh every morning, everything is prepared by hand, and Chef Shima and Chef Mike both have years of international experience, with Mike specializing in Mediterranean cuisine and Shima Japanese, opening hotels and restaurants around the world together before deciding to open their own absolute gem here in Seminole Heights. We ordered miso soup, spicy tuna, dynamite roll, handmade ravioli, and beef yakisoba. Easily the best miso I’ve ever had, I wasn’t even aware that miso could have the depth of flavor it did, and keeping with the cozy atmosphere; was served out of a coffee mug. The sushi, while simple, tasted better than any of the places in tampa, and having lived here 6 years I’ve tried all of the popular spots. Spicy tuna roll utilized a house made chili oil which I haven’t seen before, so the tuna melts in your mouth with the oil added, divine. Handmade ravioli had the freshest, richest, yet somehow lightest (make it make sense!) tomato sauce with basil and parsley that I’ve had. I did a study abroad in Italy, and even though I studied italian food and wine over there nothing came close to the dish I enjoyed here. Girlfriend’s yakisoba was delicious and hearty, and the beef was some of the tastiest I’ve had in recent memory. Since we came in near closing, the chefs came out to eat their own meals at the bar as my girlfriend and I were finishing our meals. My girlfriend and I started to get ready to head out as we didn’t want to be “those” people (you know the ones that stay after closing when everyone’s trying to leave), and the chefs told us to sit back down and began telling us their story while sampling us new potential menu items (which were just as amazing as everything we ordered, so get excited!) and upon learning it was our anniversary Mike gave us a cheesecake that he made that day. Like the tomato sauce from earlier, it was somehow rich and decadent, BUT NOT heavy nor ridiculously sweet like the cheesecake I’m used to. So another best food item I’ve had in my life from Shima and Mike. It’s not often, wait, I’ve never been to a new restaurant that gives me 4 of the best tasting food items I’ve had in my life entire life (best simple sushi roll, best miso, best cheesecake, best ravioli and sauce), and with sake included our bill only came to $60 before tip. Best flavor regardless of price I’ve found in tampa, and just the best value of anywhere I’ve ever found, period. Please give these guys your money, it might ruin a lot of restaurants for you since you’ll feel cheated that they don’t taste as good now that you’ve had Olde Heights, but I swear you will not regret it. It was so good I’m going again less than a week after my anniversary for my birthday dinner with a friend.

Everything was great! We had a party of 10 and ended up ordering across all areas of the menu and there was nothing but high ratings on everything. Great experience and incredible cuisine.
