Deep dish pizza was lacking flavor

This place is a Keeper! Food was great and portions are what I expect from an Italian restaurant and being Italian. I ordered the Que Pasta. Meatballs are worth bragging about, the sausage is exceptional. Not fatty, not dry spot on. The appetizer was the pepperoni rolls. Very good and more than enough for 3 people. Our server Brande was excellent, attentive and pleasant. We did not have to ask her for anything or have to flag her down. I highly recommend this restaurant

Cute atmosphere very family oriented. I'm a regular customer and, I have to say at first food was amazing (especially that strawberry walnut salad) to be exact about a year ago. Nowadays, not so much. Their quality has decade from low-quality meat and strawberries are ripe to almost spoil. I have noticed prices have gone up, so the least I could expect is the same quality food from a year ago. Finally, the to-go staff is not very friendly.

Try the Alvino you won't regret it. Don't forget to add the baked mozzarella

The service at this place has been sooo sloooow the last few times I have been there. Nobody greets at the host stand and everyone just stands there bunched up in the tiny lobby. And it doesn’t matter if you dine in or order ahead. Employees do not help you at all.

My experience was excellent at this local, sit down pizzeria and Italian sandwich place. The menu had way too many good choice, so I do what I normally do at local places — ordered their signature dish. It did not disappoint. I got the individual supreme deep dish pizza, a take on the Chicago style pie. (Or is it a freaky lasagna?). Sausage pepperoni peppers onions and mushrooms with gobs of cheese and a sauce that was less like marinara and more tomato-y. Quite different but it didn’t deter me from devouring half the pie and taking the rest home. I’ll definitely go back to try their thin crust pizza and other dishes. They are also known for their strawberry walnut salad which my friend swears by. Oh, and their garlic knots are amazing. Think soft, doughy and airy roll, not made with pizza crust. I think they come with the dish, but ask to make sure. They only serve Pepsi products, which is a major strike against them for this Coke purist. This place is definitely worth a try.

The pizza sauce here is excellent! This place has the best tasting pizza sauce around imo. I’m not sure what sorcery they’re using in it but I love it. The pizza itself is unique to the area, genuine, Chicago style, thin crust, or deep dish. Both are good but I prefer thin. It’s not a crispy crust but that delicious sauce just makes it work. It’s also Chicago cut so it’s little squares. It pairs great with their delectable strawberry salad. The Italian beef sandwich here is also very good and a solid step up from the ones over at Portillos. I’ve tried a couple other things here and I’m usually pleased. Except the fried zucchini appetizer, that one was an overpriced miss. Overall good spot for authentic Chicago style pizza.

The island salad is amazing, it comes with a poppy seed dressing. This is one of my favorite. I also had their pizza. It is okay but I truly prefer their salad.

Server was very attentive, efficient and nice. I already knew from previous visit, yet I asked. Yep the meatballs are frozen, not made fresh. Explains the sponginess and blandness. So this time I ordered buffalo chicken salad with the chicken breaded. The perfectly even breading and the "compactness" of the chicken lead me to guess also frozen breaded chicken. Everyone raves about their salads. It is 85% iceberg lettuce everytime after about trying 7 different ones. Husband finally ordered his pizza with extra sauce because last time...nada! This time he got tiny bit of sauce near the edges, rest of pizza pretty much void of any. Our server agreed this was not acceptable so she brought him a container of sauce so he could "dip" his pizza. She was lovely to discount the pizza. This place is packed because it is just the go-to for alot of folks. Good for them, yet for that amount of money Mellow Mushroom is above and beyond. Atmosphere great, just work on your menu.

Moved to Florida 3 years ago. Although I've had some good pizza here, nothing really measured up to midwest pizza. I'm was pleasantly surprised by Old Towne! Comfortable pizzeria atmosphere, friendly wait staff & very good food at a vert reasonable price!

We placed an order to go. Due to a mishap in our kitchen, we arrived to the restaurant before our order was finished. We explained the situation and asked if we could eat inside of the restaurant - we would order more food. We were rudely told "No. Against the policy, because people complain their food is cold." The lady looked down and continued txting on her phone. Our food wasn't even ready yet, so this doesn't even make sense. I read a previous review that someone else was tuned away. The reason given was "it wouldn't be fair to other guest." It seems as if there are many excuses why they will not convert an order. There wasnt a line and not many guests in the restaurant. We have experienced not so great service before, but this will be the last order for us! Policy is policy. Rudeness is not accepted.

It's nice for a guy from the Midwest to be able to get a stuffed pizza. I had the Stuffed Spinach and it was awesome.

Really deep pizza, crust is delicious and I tried pepperoni, eggplant and spinach pizza. My favorite was the spinach but all good. If looking for something different, that’s the place to go.

I am searching my soul to think of one good thing to say about this place. I have failed. The food is inedible. The people are callous, hateful, and uncaring. It is a dark dingy place where all hope of enjoying good pizza in a decent atmosphere goes to die. These ghouls do not deserve your business.

If you love chicago pizza you will think you never left chicago....I'm visiting family l'm born and raised in chitown

Food is great, great salads, pizza. service sucks, have waited 30+ min. with a half empty restaurant. had a waitress right down party of 6 for the 2 of us, I had to manually change it, after I noticed all these couple's sitting before us. made a comment to the manager. been a few months she still works there... the Plant City location is the better location. Edit: After a year the one bad server has left, have not had any other issues.

Was looking for a good pizza place and think I found it. Was a comfortable place, drinks were cold, booths were full, and the pizza was great.

We ordered pizza to go at a time that we thought it would be pretty busy, but when we got there, the restaurant was mostly empty so we decided we wanted to sit down and eat there, wanting salads, drinks, and appetizers as well. We were told we could not do that because we ordered ahead and it wasn't fair to the other people eating at the restaurant. (There were 2). This makes no sense to me, as they would've made more money and a server would've gotten a nice tip. Very unfortunate rule that I was told they had to enforce by the owner. We've found other Chicago style pizza places we like better but we were in the area and do really like the food. Sadly, this will be the last time for us.

Here is my experience on mother's day. I read the reviews and read how slow the food can come out. Thinking ahead we called in an order. When we got there we noticed the place was basically empty, as shown in the pictures. They refused to seat us as they only allow 'to-go' call in orders. I understand some standard protocol, but come on... We were eventually told this was something the owner decided and they refuse to deviate from that. I wish they would use some autonomy.

I came in with my family and Paula was our server and she was the most hospitable server we’d had in a very long time, making our experience that much better. For weeks, we’d been craving some real good Chicago style deep dish pizza but hadn’t had any luck finding a place worth trying. Then we stumbled across this gem. My husband and I had the chicken Parmesan deep dish, my 2 kids split another pizza with pineapple and some other meat I can’t remember now, and my in-laws had a BYO deep dish. Needless to say, we were all in pizza heaven 🤤 . I’m from out of town and visit Tampa quite often.. we plan on stopping by here during every visit moving forward. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING OLD TOWN PIZZERIA 🍕

The thin pizza was great but the strawberry walnut salad made with the owners special dressing was amazing!

We went in and sat for 10 minutes all the girls kept walking by. When I went up and ask if we could please get waited on the girl pointed to our waitress and said she would be there as soon as she could. We watch her take 2 orders while 3 others stood up front talking. We walked out. Worst serve ever and attitude.

Excellent salad and large selection of pizzas of different composition and size. Perfect welcome and service. We also really appreciated the tranquility (without screens) and the atmosphere of the place. Congratulations.

I ordered to go, pepperoni and extra cheese on deep dish pizza. The server advised me that I don't need an extra cheese order. Ok, I say. By the way, it was my first time in this restaurant. I don't know if it is family owned, but it is a cozy place with a very nice atmosphere . 15 minutes later, my large pizza was ready. This nice lady gave me the pizza box, and for a second, I was confused. This thing, weighted a ton. When home and open the box and there it was a deep dish pizza with like three layers of cheese, pepperoni, and sauce. Wow, what a feast.

Never disappointed, best pizza in area.

The deep dish xl supreme pizza was great! Great portion size for the price you get. BUT!! Take this from someone who did it, the more you add to the deep dish pizza the longer it takes to cook and won’t get as hot! We will definitely be coming here again and maybe add as many toppings to the deep dish next time! 😂 our waitress was gracious enough to try and get it warmer for us.

I ordered a chicken Parm with pasta was delicious. This was my second time and I will be back thank to all the workers for excellent work .👍

Good stuff: I've had the pizza, which is good, though sometimes a little doughy. Pepperoni cheese sticks are awesome. Strawberry salad really good too. Bad stuff: Only people in restaurant, ordered sandwiches, food took forever and dirty plates never cleared. Also Parmesean cheese sandwich not good, trust me. Same for beef and sausage with onions sandwich--which I spit out, it smelled bad and looked worse. I remembered this place being better.

The strawberry walnut salad is fantastic. Went at 530 on a Saturday and got seated immediately. Service was reasonably fast and the staff was pleasant. When we left there was 20 people waiting so go early

It was quiet when I was there, and the pizza was delicious!

Unfortunately this restaurant did not leave a great first impression for us. Although it seemed slow, we stood waiting 10 minutes to be seated & the hostess was not particularly friendly or apologetic. I did enjoy my salmon salad, but our 3-meatball appetizer was not enough food for the price.

Waited a long time for the waitress after being seated. Food wait was a long time. The waitress got the order wrong and then there was a charge for the wrong food.

Thin crust, Old Town Pizza! The meat lovers special can't be matched in Brandon! The walnut/strawberry house salad is the perfect companion. Add a draft beer to complete the meal. No dessert necessary!!

I’m not a fan of this place. I don’t like the atmosphere of the old fashioned decor, and there really isn’t anything that stands out. However, the service is good. They got our food out in time and it’s in a good value. However, I was dissatisfied with the temperature of my pizza, and it tasted fine, but not very special. I liked the calzone better due to the more flavor and the texture. I don’t think this place is bad, but there’s definitely room for improvement. Overall, don’t recommend.

Trouble food, Trouble Staff, wouldn’t recommended

If I could give less than a 1 star I would, they took forever to make two sandwiches because they burnt the first ones and then they came out with some microwave sandwiches for me and my girl. Terrible place would not recommend to anyone. Shame on you guys.

The Strawberry walnut salad alone is worth the trip to this restaurant. The pizza is great, and virtually everything I have had here has been great. Good waitstaff and friendly.

Great Food, Great Selection, Great Staff. It's been a go to of ours for years. Particularly love the Strawberry Walnut Salad, pepperoni rolls and fried zucchini but everything is great.

Best deep dish ever! We have even eaten in Chicago and this is the best! Try the supreme and the chicken bacon, ranch. They are both different but equally wonderful. We won’t eat pizza anywhere else now!

This is a great place for date night, or to take the family. Cozy atmosphere with some retro music from the 70's and 80's. We love their bread rolls stuffed with choice of spinach, pepperoni, or just cheese. The pizzas are great! We have not tried their calzones yet, but haven't had anything we did not like. For those looking for pasta, they have that too! The salad offerings are impressive and so very tasty! We like to get a regular to split between the 2 of us, with our pizza dinner. A large is a good sized individual meal. I just wish they had dessert as well, but they don't. Not like we have room for it after all the food anyway! Lol Enjoy!!!

I would honestly give zero stars if it was an option. The fact that not only did you illegally turn away a United States veteran with a service animal, but then your staff becomes rude, distasteful and disrespectful to the customers because of this. It’s completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional of this business and you should educate your staff or find new employees. You should really be ashamed of this kind of behavior and seek to correct this in the future.

Went to eat with hubby and friends and we were told no service animal allowed. The manager would not give us number to call owners. My husband is a Disabled Veteran and the dog is his service dog.

Do not support this business! They will turn anyone away who has a service animal with them! BY LAW, service dogs are allowed to go anywhere that the general public goes. That includes any privately owned businesses that serve the public such as restaurants, hotels, retail stores, taxi's, theaters, concerts, sports facilities, etc. TERRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!

Refused service of disabled veteran family accompanied by a ADA certified service dog. Put some signs up if you refuse service animals, which is against fed law. Doesn’t help if you have staff who get belligerent for a potential customer asking why the denial. You’re host staff need some education as well As this mismanaged business.

Food is always wonderful and so is the service. Bathrooms are clean.

Customer service was horrible. I gave them a second chance and of course they failed. Staff is rude and never own up when they’re wrong. Never again.

Went there recently and the pizza was terrible. I liked the place before but if that was any indication of the new taste of the food, I will not go back.

Menu online is not the same refuses to take responsibility for this when all they have to do is contact google and say the information is wrong. The individual was some what rude that I dealt with not sure of their position. I ended up disputing the charge and got my money back. It’s shame though because the place and the other things ordered looked really good. I however will not be ordering from there again nor will I be using them for any business needs anymore.

Picked up a pie and it was fresh, hot, good flavor, ready under 25 min, not greasy and thin crust. We're pleased!

Haven't had the pizza yet but the choices look solid on their menu. We had salads and they were awesome! Giant selection of salads for any type of restaurant, much less a pizza joint. The strawberry walnut salad is crazy good.
