First of all it was our first time there, we arrived at 4 pm . I specifically mentioned to the server I didn't want anything spicy, so she recommended a sushi with mango and it was spicy! I also ordered the chicken tempura and everything was hard. The server was at the bar talking with two men, so we could not get service, my mother's meal was the so called very thin sliced pork that is fried, it was not thin and it was tough. We finally just got a to go container! Not pleased at all !!

Their fried rice is off the charts great. But portions are huge, so I recommend asking for kids size.

The miso soup had alot of flavor, the ginger salad was good. The spicy tuna was the best I have ever had at 55 years.old I have eaten at many sushi spots, Japan and Italy also, so I no what tastes great. The chicken and noodles dish was very good. The spicy tuna was so yummy I took 2 orders home for snack and dinner. My new spot.

I LOVE sushi and usually hate to leave a bad review but I would hate for someone to spend so much money only to be left as disappointed as I was. If I could give negative stars I would. The only thing this place has going for it is the atmosphere and nice young lady at the front. I ordered a specialty roll and krab Rangoon. Never mind that there was literally 4 krab Rangoon for 7 dollars. They didn't even taste good. The only thing that was good was the Thai chili sauce. As for the roll it wasn't even made right and tasted awful. Just to top it off they gave me soy sauce instead of eel sauce. Needless to say I won't be back. Spent 25+ on a meal that truly went in the trash.

The service was not very fast but the taste was ideal and nice. It was my first time trying this place and the chicken sushi was really delicious.

Was excited to try this sushi spot, went on to take my family and was very disappointed. The beef bulgogi was chewy and not crispy. One sushi roll said "spicy mayo" but in fact was just straight mayo. The other sushi roll had a long string of plastic in it. The staff was unfazed and not attentive at all. Server could not be bothered with us, it was not busy. They had no bottled water. The table was sticky. Will not recommend and will not return. Save your money. We wasted $150 here

If you want bad service, cold food then this is the place. Went tonight and they sat us down at a table that was wet. We ordered and after a long wait our food sporadically showed up. Well i use the term "showed up" loosely because some things we ordered never showed up except on the bill. Rice, shrimp, udon noodles and chicken were all cold and gross. They were kind enough to try to still bill us for everything. Bathrooms have never been cleaned. We will NEVER go back and wouldn't recommend this dirty place to anyone.

Great place for sushi, or poke bowls. We (the wife and I) have eaten here over half a dozen times and it never fails to impress. Even when they are busy, it still feels comfy and quaint. Service has always been amazing.

The food was mediocre at best, the fried rice I found hair in mine and the salad was all soggy, and we had to wait forever for our food, the service wasn't good either they were pretty short with us and didn't seem to care at all. As well as the hostess seemed very unprofessional herself and very uptight and not welcoming, if you respect yourself or want good service don't come to this place!

Food and service was horrible, the sushi was clearly made with ingredients that were not fresh because the tuna tasted weird and the roll itself was very bad quality. Also our server would leave us unattended for what seemed like an eternity. I asked to speak to the manager about this and the server said the manager refused to come, do not eat here if you have respect for yourself or if you expect good food.

Unique rolls, great staff, and quite a variety of options for vegetarians too.

Good food, nice employees, and clean environment. My son enjoyed the veggie fried rice and California rolls, and I enjoyed a Mango, Passion Fruit, and Coconut smoothie. Immediate seating, minimal wait for food and drinks.

Our family celebrated my grandson's 19th birthday at Sushi Ninja. We feasted on fresh and delicious sushi, especially the specialty rolls.

Food is good, but service is so slow. This is the second time in a month it’s taken over 45 minutes to get 2 rolls.

SUSHI IS SUPERB! Been several times and the sushi is consistently fresh and pallet pleasing. Rarely a wait line with personable staff. One thing I love is that you have the option of walking in and sitting at the bar which offers wine, beer and specialty drinks. The service is okay, but it is the sushi chef that brings you back for more.

Mostly fried options, not so quick to service take out during slower times even.

Servers are lazy and unenthusiastic about their job. Good luck trying to get their attention for a refill. The sushi is overpriced, low quality cuts of fish. Overall, not worth the time or money.

We have been eating here for several years. It has gone down hill very quickly and though the food is good, orders are never correct. When I ask for the correct orders the servers get pretty snotty/standoffish. I'm in the service industry, this is EXACTLY how you slowly start to lose traffic and bussiness. So sad. 5th chance and still a disappointment.

Every sushi roll had cream cheese or was fried. Other food options aee pretty bland.

The vegetables in the Yaki Udon are not fresh, feels like soggy and leftovers. The salt in the fried rice is not evenly spread and some parts are extremely salty, also there are way too many chicken pieces (dry chicken breast probably) in the fried rice. The white rice in the takeout bowl is only half full.

The miso soup that was very light on the miso flavor and had no tofu. Tuna bombs tasted like ground beef instead of tuna, but it still had good flavor. The chicken wings were excellent. The lightening roll was just okay. I had the shrimp tempura with udon noodle soup. The broth tasted like pure soy sauce but the noodles were good. I didn’t eat my shrimp tempura because I got full. My fiancé ordered spicy pork bulgogi, which was excellent.

This is a Very good Sushi restaurant! We have eaten in restaurant and gotten to go many times. The Sushi is always awesome. The staff is very friendly and the food never disappoints. Great place to pop in for a drink and some Sushi.

First time here and loved this spot! Atmosphere and decor are amazing, brings the beauty of Japan in a tasteful way. Our server was Maria who was amazing and provided world class service! Now the sushi was DELICIOUS and fresh. Ended with some green tea ice cream and with a great recommendation from Maria, added honey! So good!

Great sushi place. The inside is decked out with really cool art (found out a friend’s mom did all of their art which is super neat) and the women’s bathroom is absolutely beautiful. I could have stayed in there and hung out. Food was really good, and the service was great.

They were short staffed and I understand that I work in the food service industry and it was a short wait still never got my drink order our waitress and hostess where great. They did a out standing job. The bartender or so call manger did a terrible job

Food is always pretty good. Service is usually mediocre, but tonight they were not even busy and I had to ask for a manager after we were seated for 15 minutes and none of the servers came by even after making eye contact with them.

Been a customer here for 20 years! Best sushi in all of Florida / US. Only place that even comes close or similar is Japan. (Which Iv been and had) Owners are very devoted to the passion of high standards for this establishment. I always get the Jamie Roll, Jennifer Roll (my kids love), Screaming O is another incredible one, and the salmon one that has the lemon.

Really great sushi, always good quality and good service. The restaurant is nice and the menu is reasonably priced. My only critique is a good portion of the rolls are krab and shrimp or cooked fish, so not my favorite selection as someone who likes the raw stuff. What I do like off the menu is always very delicious and this is my favorite sushi place in the Bloomingdale/Brandon area.

Bulgogi here is very good. They’re sushi rice is soft but firm and they’re rolls are consistently good quality. My go to spot!

So disappointed. We ordered a couple different kinds of sushi and they were all bland and gross. They were missing ingredients and anything fried was over cooked. The miso soup was disgusting. Our boba was hard and so chewy. I asked for our dipping sauces 3 times, just to get home and realize we didn’t get them. Not impressed at all. Definitely will not waste time or money going back.

Overstaffed if anything and really disorganized. Waited twenty five minutes for a poke bowl that could be done in 5 or less. (Only like 5 groups of two here) imagine what it's like when it IS busy

We’ve been here so many times, tonight was the worst service we have ever had! We arrived at 1900 and was seated promptly. The waitress was prompt to the table. She gave us menus and we didn’t see her for 10 minutes. Once she returned she took our drink orders. 15 minutes later she returned with our drinks and took our food orders((sushi included). We were hungry and said please bring the appetizer (edamame) which took 45minutes to come out, after we brought it to her attention at the 30 minute post order point. Our sushi and entree arrived an hour after we ordered it… This is the worst service we have ever from your establishment ! Also, we wanted 4 rounds of drinks, but were only offered two. This was very disappointing to say the least over a $240 bill!!! Wow! Next date night will be some other place….!

went to recently on a Wednesday. I don’t know what’s going on on Wednesdays, but this was the best I’ve ever had today. Everything was fresh perfectly executed the Gogi chicken and sushi was absolutely awesome Very good place we were very surprised. The place is larger inside than expected with cozy booths. Smelled clean inside. But wait… they have ice cold Sapporo and Boba tea. Sushi was decent and the fried rice and teriyaki steak was awesome. They had fried icecream birthday cake!!! Family loved!

Don't let the name Sushi Ninja, sporting a nautical theme inside, fool you. The Ninja has some of the best sushi in the Tampa Bay area, and I've been to a LOT, all over the place. Anything yellowtail related really can't be beat. It's cozy being in the corner of a strip mall, the staff are amazing, and I don't care if you live in a beach community... Try them once, and you'll find yourself tempted to come out to the burbs when you're craving your sushi fix.

Excellent food & service. Highly recommend the Lunch Sashimi Special with the Clear Chicken Broth! Big bottles of Sapporo or Asahi Dry Beer optional & will not disappoint! Family atmosphere, highly recommended Brandon location.

I've been going to this restaurant since I was in high school which was over 15 years. I went there recently and it tasted just as great as it did back then. Highly recommend!

Best sushi I've had and it's reasonably priced. The volcano roll with crab on top is my favorite!

If I could give zero stars I would. The service was horrible and the waiter couldn't stop telling every table "how busy" they are. Like we get it, but we waited for a check for 30 mins and realized we didn't even get part of our order. Had to check out at the front door. Definitely put a downer on a good night. Don't recommend it.

Finding a new sushi place. Given them so many chances and they always mess up. First of all, they weren’t even busy yet it took over an hour to get our food. I’m vegan and ordered vegan sushi and there were fish eggs all over it. Also didn’t realize until we got home but they forgot to give us our miso soups. To top it off, as a vegan, I ordered a green tea boba without dairy and not only did the server forget I even ordered a boba 45 minutes in… they also put dairy in it. So definitely not ALLERGY friendly. Do not go here if you have any dairy or fish allergy . They do not care. There’s nothing good I can say about this place.

Their food is tasty, quality, and fresh. I recommend the Bahama Cruise roll if you’re looking for a fun flavor combination. The Paradise roll is like an entire meal by itself. Their Champong (spicy seafood noodle soup) is my absolute favorite- it almost tastes like I’m in Korea again. The boba milk teas are also a fun treat if you’re feeling like something sweet. The Taro flavor is so creamy!

Our waiter was very nice and prompt. I got a couple different rolls of sushi and it tasted like grocery store sushi. Not fresh, not a lot of flavor. I wouldn't return. It was disappointing. I really was looking for some good sushi too. I haven't found any decent sushi anywhere in Riverview or Brandon.... yet.

My wife and I go here weekly. Probably the best sushi in Hillsborough County.

Sushi Ninja is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the Brandon area. It's located in the Bloomingdale Square shopping center, and it's one of the few restaurants that has stayed in this plaza for many years. They moved to a larger space within the plaza and redesigned the interior a couple of years ago, which totally elevated the whole dining experience. It's so warm and inviting with lots of tropical décor. They have table, booth, and bar seating. They also have cocktails on the menu and not just your standard wine, beer, and saké. I know, we have many great sushi restaurants in the Brandon/Riverview/Valrico area. They're all special in their own way. But this place is unique in that they also have boba milk teas and smoothies, as well as a build your own poke bowl menu. There's a huge variety of sushi rolls. Most of them are specialty rolls. There are a lot with cream cheese (if that's your thing). One of my favorite rolls is the Ninja Lobster Roll. It was pretty awesome! The baked cheesy lobster topping really takes it to the next level. The only negative to some people would be that the rolls are small, and maybe rolled more tightly than other sushi rolls I've had in the past. It's not a bad thing in my opinion. I hate when they roll them too big. I have many other favorite rolls. The New York Yankee, Rising Sun, and Dancing Eel rolls are some of my favorites. I've also had the eel, scallop special, and salmon nigiri which are always great. Oh, and I almost forgot about the appetizer. The TNT Mussels are so yummy. It has a nice mixture of Japanese mayo, wasabi, and masago. Very tasty! Everything tastes great. I need to elaborate a little on the build your own poke and/or bibimbap bowl. The bowls are fresh and fantastic! I get the bowls with a salad base when I feel like eating healthy. They have so many great toppings. I never can pass up their house poke sauce. The bowl is perfect every time. Service can be hit or miss sometimes. Mostly a hit. I continue to try different things. I still haven't tried their Korean dinner items yet, but I will in the near future. I'm sure they are just as great as everything else.

Food was inedible and we tried to be more than understanding, we knew something happened and just asked for credit because we really liked the place. RUDE STAFF. Got told "we don't care if you come back or not" and then got hung up on. I've been multiple times... never again.

I have a beautiful lunch with my daughters and the food was delicious my waitress Maria is very awesome the place looked amazing and was clean the tables looked very nice and I can't wait to go back

The beef bulgogi had no sauce pretty much and thats one of my favorite dishes, disappointed. Nothing had much flavor. I was expecting more for the price we paid

Had calamari appetizer, was blah, looked like onion rings, taste was gummish like. The combination fried rice was really good, split it with wife, huge plate enough for two.

Frequent here a lot and in the past few months the service has REALLY gone down hill. Takes forever to be greeted, no check back, food comes out in random order. Sucks because the food is really good.

Not a great first experience, I understand the restaurant industry is understaffed but when the hostess tells you it’s going to be a 15 minute wait and there’s literally no one in restaurant, that’s a red flag. Two hostesses just sat on their butts while the two waiters were running around. We asked the hostess who was doing absolutely nothing for water and then she said she would ask our waitress to get us one…. You’re literally doing nothing, and can’t grab someone a glass of water. Ridiculous !!

Omg the Poke Bowl I had was like the best thing I ever ate! White rice, salmon, pickled radish, cucumber, avocado topped with Wasabi mayo and sesame seeds. I'll be back for this!!

I've been here several times. I really love the food but the service is getting worst everytime we go. The last time are waitress non stop was just talking didnt even fill our drinks back up. Overall the waitress always seems like she hates being there. The food also hasn't been as good lately. A few of our rolls where falling apart made very messy. The rainbow roll which was recently added tasted really fishy. Tasted more like raw fish on top of rice with a little bit of cucumber. This use to my and my boyfriends favorite sushi places but it's been going down in quality.

Incredible place! Service and food are top notch. My go-to is chirashi. The bento box is awesome. Too bad they only serve it at lunch during the week.

Sushi Ninja is a great sushi place to go to for something more than just a Wednesday night. It’s on the pricer side if you like more specialty rolls. I have only had good experiences here.

I love how quiet the place was and I loved how they set it up. It doesn't feel like your typical sushi restaurant. It's a lot more warm and welcoming. I love the tables there they are so cool very artistic. The beef ninja rolls are really good with cream cheese them. The service was Good. I did not appreciate them charging me a tip without asking though.

First time here. I ordered a drink with food, and waited about 30 minutes with nothing brought to the table. I ended up leaving and going somewhere else.

I came here for vegan sushi. I got the sweet potato roll. It was warmed/cooked. It was ok. I was expecting more flavors or something. But it was just regular veggie sushi to me. It wasn't bad. Just not amazing.

I see so many reviews about this place having such great food, service and atmosphere. All of these reviews are very accurate. Every single thing we ordered was delicious and everyone was super friendly. I will go back as often as possible.

Sushi Ninja is by far absolutely delicious! The Servers are exceptionally sweet young ladies and the food is always deliciously flavorful, full of color and beautifully presented! The jalapeño bombers, the egg fried rice with extra scallions & onions, the Aubrey Roll, Bagel roll ( which is a DEEP fried) sushi roll, the bulgogi roll are by far some my wife & I favorite dishes to devour every time we visit Sushi Ninja!! The Thai tea or the mango milk with light ice are far better refreshing then any Coke or Sprite I’ve ever tasted👍🏾😋
