Meh. An adorable, precious place, reeking with rustic charm and surrounded by abundant greenery. What else is precious? The prices. A Simple Sammie with one egg and cheddar cheese on a small, rich biscuit, plus a 16 oz. cardamom latte (that tastes _nothing_ of coffee, and almost nothing of cardamom, even after stirring vigorously) set me back $23. Service was neither pleasant nor unpleasant; indifferent, really. Actually the supermarket behind me has better coffee for only $5.

Tuesday brunch in mid September. We had the Breakfast Sandwich (excellent) and the Adult Grilled Cheese sandwich (mediocre - very hot but not flavorful). Coffee is very good. Service was acceptable but the staff were not really interested in the customers. Atmosphere was average with outdoor seating only.

What a great find on Orcas, we were on a motorcycle trip and came to Olga’s Rising each day for morning coffee. The girl at the register was sweet and the coffee and breakfast sandwich’s are amazing! You won’t be disappointed.

This is the most magical coffee shop you will ever be in. The atmosphere is unmatched - every item and corner of the shop is loved and cared for, you can tell the owner of this place has their heart poured to the space! We got the golden latte, London fog, bacon frittata, and Black sesame tahini tea cake. Everything was good, but the tea cake was outstanding! First time here and definitely not the last.

Clue #1 that this is a place worth stopping at: the line at 8:15am was 15 people deep on the sidewalk on a weds! The carrot cake muffins are great but my favorite was the raspberry oat bar. Americano & frittata was also fantastic. Look for the line of people if you have a hard time finding the place….

Stayed on the island for 5 days and ate lunch here once and breakfast twice. Being a part of the food industry, I can attest that this food was truly something special. The curry chicken sandwich and boysenberry lemonade (which I had them make sparkling) were exceptional, but what I’m still thinking about was that Olga rising breakfast sandwich and their cinnamon rolls. I’m going to wake up thinking about them for at least 3 months, if not longer. I’m back home and trying to figure out how to make my own homemade version of that sandwich. I probably won’t be able to, and for that reason alone I have to get back there asap. Mostly the same people working there each time we went and they were crushing it with smiles on their faces. The inside market was really dope as well and I wish I had space in my bags to bring some local stuff home. Great patio right outside, but also a nice little park across the street you can eat at. Give this place your money.

Olga Rising is a must when visiting Orcas. Whether it's a quick stop to grab a latte (their soy latte is perfect) and a raspberry scone (beyond perfect) or a full breakfast, you won't be disappointed. Fantastic breakfast biscuits. The Island Classic with maple sriracha sauce is kinda brilliant. Coffee great too. Biscuits have to be made that day, just delicate and buttery and still hold up to sandwich toppings. You order inside, take a seat in garden chairs under a tree or tables out front and are served through a window. The staff there is very helpful with menu navigation and patient while you filter through a lot of choices. And they have traffic, so props to great customer service in the face of a crowd. But we still got our food and drinks pretty quickly. We came because we wanted something substantial before hiking Mt. Constitution later that day, and the biscuits delivered. We liked them so much we can back for breakfast the next day before our ferry. They're on our must-eat list for the next visit.

Before our visit to Eastsound, I was so stoked to seek this lovely bakery out. No offense to the other bakeries, but I tend to avoid popular places and give love to the hidden gems. I loved reading on Olga Rising's website that the owners grew up on the island and wanted to bring alive again what they remembered from their youth. I am not island grown but am Washington grown (both sides of the Cascades), grew up in the 90s, and I too have nostalgia for the pre-social media, rainy fern-y forest-y coastal salt, crunchy granola Pacific Northwest vibe that existed once upon a time before so many people "moved out West" and Washington the state was no longer secluded within our corner of the country. Turned out to be the first customer to walk in on Friday morning in late July and probably seemed too bushytailed. I loved the glow of the place and the inviting bakery case. I wanted to take it all in and place a huge order, but then turned around to see a long line had grown within seconds behind me, lol! The very approachable young lady at the counter handled me the new bee with care and, since I was placing an order of sandwiches for four and they all looked great, she suggested we try one of each breakfast sandwich. We waited for our order outside in the fairylike garden area. I went back in for pastries (lavender lemon bar and two types of scones), which were worth every crumb. The biscuits on the breakfast sandwich were SO good, and I make buttermilk biscuits at home, often. Since they would not be open on Sunday or Monday, I made it a point to go there again Saturday. Meant to arrive at opening like on Friday but was there a little later in the morning. The morning rush seemed calmer, and I could really look at the bakery case. Ordered a nanaimo and a chocolate oat bar. Seriously could have ordered a dozen of each to take home. Also had a hot specialty beverage that I believe was the Golden Milk steamer, but it isn't the apple cider description listed on the website. Whatever it was, the cup contained tasty MAGIC, y'all. If I never get to visit the island again, I will forever hold this bakery in my heart near the memories of children who once played in the woods.

We got a latte and pastries there. The pastries were good, but we were dissatisfied by the fact that we ordered 5 pastries, we verbally confirmed the 5 pastries we ordered with the worker, paid for 5 pastries, but once we went to eat them only had 4 pastries. They also took a while to get the pastries out. So, my suggestion to avoid future misses like these: - Pack the pastries in the box as the patron is ordering the pastries and not afterwards.
