Old building. Clean. Staff was very friendly and kept the tables cleared. Only open for lunch. Crowded. Tons of people filling up styro boxes to go. Lots of dine in seating. No sodas...only tea and lemonade. Everyone coming and going through the 1 entrance/ exit door have to walk by buffet/ food. When you walk in the door its crowded with people trying to cash out, people trying to get food and people coming and going. When we walked in didn't know what line was what and where to go. A customer helped us out and told us to go find a table and staff would come by. "Salad bar" is only shredded up Lettuce and 3 other items. The "hot" food bar... everything I picked turned out to be cold... was several chicken options (with no chicken gravy). I asked for gravy for my mashed potatoes and was told to take gravy out of the beef stew. Almost all options were high carb and/or smothered in cheese. The banana pudding was very good. 2 choices of cobbler and those looked good. Overall food was just mediocre. Staff kept the food area tidy and stocked. Price was $14 including drink which was very reasonable.

Just before lunch while traveling on the Interstate we searched Google maps for a restaurant near us. The highest rated was O’Neal’s Country Buffet located at 558 Base St. in Madison, FL. It’s a bit off the interstate but but it was well worth the short drive. Upon getting out of our vehicle at the simple building I told my husband that I knew we’d made a good choice because I could smell the chicken frying. I was right, there was nothing fancy inside either but the staff, owners and food were amazing! They serve the best fried chicken I’ve had in many years and I fry up some pretty good chicken. It’s not covered in thick batter, just thin and crispy outside and so tasty, juicy and tender inside, YUM! The white peas, butter peas, boiled cabbage, mashed potatoes, fried okra and creamed corn we had tasted like fresh southern home cooked vegetables to us and both the biscuits and the cornbread were very good. My husband had a fresh mixed salad, the baked chicken, dressing which was moist and had pieces of chicken in it, rice and several vegetables. He enjoyed his meal and said it was very good. I did get a serving of old fashioned peach cobbler but in a “to go container” as I had no room for it after the meal. There were other vegetables, meats such as fried pork chops, a sausage dish and several desserts including ice cream to choose from as well as a salad bar. We were welcomed when we entered and the service was very attentive. Our waitress was friendly with happy personality and made us feel very comfortable. One of the owners came by to check on us and chat for a minute thanking us for coming by and inviting us back. All in all this was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend O’Neal’s Country Buffet if you like old fashioned southern cooking. We will definitely come back if we’re anywhere near Madison.

Decided to stop by heading home to Louisiana . I must say I enjoyed the food & atmosphere. Friendly staff , excellent food & service. There is also a variety of seafood, deserts & sides to choose from. The ribs , hot wings & lemonade was my favorite! 10/10

I’ve dinned here since 2000. The food is Southern Soul Food (delicious). Present day the food is the same, the owner is the same and I’m known by the staff. It’s a family atmosphere. Friday evening is Seafood night.

What a great gem of a place. We stopped in on our way through town. The good is amazing and very fast and friendly service. The buffet included tax and tea or lemonade. Was a great deal for the amount of food offered on the buffet.

Now... This is a must visit. Again, I'm a big city boy, born and raised in Brooklyn and worked in Midtown Manhattan for 30 years and now I'm in Florida. My Co worker from the Madison Market, says "Man, I have to take you to O'Neals". The moment you arrive, you ate at home. You grab a plate and serve yourself what ever you want from an array of options. They have everything you need. Then you sit and a wonderful home town waitress will show up with smiles and will bring you a lemonade, sweet tea, or an Arnold palmer, my fave. You get such a bang for your buck here and everyone is just so dang beautiful with each other. I always come here when I'm in town.

Love love love O'Neal's in Madison FL. Friday night all you can eat seafood buffet. The food is fresh and tastes so good. Homemade desserts are yummy too. My family and I have been coming here every Friday night for about two months. Very friendly staff. They treat you like family.

I'm stuffed with food like Papaw used to make. Best ever, and I heard them say they went thru 40 pounds of gizzards at lunch today. Just how many chickens does that require? Don't miss this old-time gem and ask you can eat for $14!!!

I’m not gonna lie the food is good, but the customer service was horrible. The cashiers was rude and was talking about the customers in front of the face. I really ain’t like that at all. Probably won’t come back. Don’t care how good the food is it’s about respect, your customers because we the one that keep you running I ordered my food to go, so I can only imagine how would it been if I ate inside

They never ever let you down for awesome country food , I plan my trips to be there for lunch every time I go to town . The best fried chicken there is and the wings melt in your mouth . Not to mention the Lima beans and cream corn .

We arrived at the area just 45 minutes before they closed and food was still being refilled, was hot and fresh. Kept food going even after closing for customers in the restaurant. Home cooking buffet style. A lot of happy customers going back for seconds. The fried chicken was delicious. Big dining areas, couldn't tell if there was more parking on the other side of the building.

My family of 7 stopped here in our way to Disney because of the reviews we wanted to love it but my honest opinion is not one thing on the buffet was good. I’m my 62 years I hate to say it but it’s the worse food we have ever ate which took the place of golden coral as worse . Even my 2 year old granddaughters wouldn’t eat it . Also, do not go there expecting to get a coke they do not sell sodas at all . The one positive is the waitress we had she was the best and super sweet.

You do not come here for atmosphere. You come here for really good food. I confess my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I tried almost everything and I was not disappointed. The beans, the greens, the sweet potato casserole, the dressing and the bread pudding were great. And it is an excellent value for your money. It was crowded when we got there but we were still able to find a table. We will be back.

Expensive for and all you can eat buffet for a takeout plate was $15 for one plate that's expensive to me my opinion only so don't beat me up

We travel over an hour to enjoy this little gem! We come on either Friday or Saturday for their Seafood and BBQ (Smoked) Ribs on the buffet. VERY AFFORDABLE TOO! The servers are very friendly and efficient. There are so many options on the Buffet, with lots of salad options AND desserts! The Ribs are our favorite! 😋 Most Strongly Recommend Oneal's Country Buffet! Hope to see you there! 😉

I ate here with my dad and his friend and we all really enjoyed it. He's a widower and he eats here 3-4 times a week. We went on a Saturday and they had seafood. The shrimp was delicious, as was the fried chicken. They even had hot wings! You may need your salt shaker for the sides, but those hush puppies were definitely something to write home about. The staff was very friendly and I got the vibe that they view their customers as family. I absolutely recommend dining here.

Date night and our very first visit to O'Neal's Country Buffet. Don't expect to find several rows of entrées and sides ... there is one hot food line with meats and sides, one for salads and one for desert cobblers ... but please dont let that sway you from visiting! There was PLENTY to choose from and every single thing we tried was good ole country home cooking! Sweet Tea was just like Mom's! You will NOT be disappointed! Being Friday night ... there was stready stream of customers for eat in and take out. The waitresses were busy but checked in frequently. Highly recommend!

Cute and very country place in a very country town. Food is good but remember the place is super small, so the buffet is small as well. Mostly local favorites (fried foods galore!) And it is very tasty. They were limited on drinks (only water, tea and lemonade, which was very light on the lemon, lol). Baked chicken was available and that's what I chose. I could barely pick it up it was so tender! I'll go again when I come down that way.

We have been there a dozen times and have experienced the same wonderful experience Oneal's is a consistent winner!

Brought my kids for their birthday and we absolutely loved the food. The service was extremely prompt & our male server was very kind. I've worked in the restaurant industry for many years and the only thing I observed that could make it better would be more space, a bigger building but everything else is very good.

It was a great experience. The food was delicious. The seafood was yummy and fresh. The price very economical and you certainly get your money's worth. And last but not least everyone was so friendly. We'll certainly be back!!

On Friday's!!! Stop by and get those catfish nuggets. In a little small town to sit n eat and meet other friendly ppls. Good Bread, Good Meat, U just stop by and Eat.

I know a lot of people that think this place is great. I'm not one of them. The food is not good. It's always crowded and the buffet is small. The service is always good though and the people are friendly.

Chicken tettrazini is delicious! Sweet potatoes were yummy too. Don't forget the homemade banana pudding for dessert! First time I tried the broccoli salad and it was very good.

Oneal's Country Buffet offered a wide variety of country style food. My favorite was the vegetables, which included some of the usual options like broccoli and corn, as well as dishes that I hadn't tried before, like rutabaga and country peas. We went on a Sunday, so the place was busy, but the servers were helpful and quick. The locals in Jasper, FL, are friendly and added to the charm of this restaurant.

If you love old fashioned Southern cooking this is the place.

So this is a great place to go if you like real country cooking! They have things like baked chicken, fried chicken, acre peas, Lima beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, etc. I enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was great. I like the way you pay at the end and the price was decent. My only complaints are that the tea was so sweet it was like pure sugar! Which that's how Southerners like so that wasn't a big deal but the lettuce at the salad bar was like pure cucumbers! They even had a side of cucumbers to put on top of your cucumber salad! I do not care for a cucumbers and I really wanted a salad but it was like pure cucumbers everywhere!

Perfectly fried chicken, scrumptious shrimp scampi, bbq ribs, and many delicious sides and fruit desserts. We stopped in Madison for one night and we dined among the locals at O’Neal’s Buffet. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the buffet was replenished constantly. Best dinner at a reasonable price on our three day road trip!

I was on my way to Louisiana, from West Palm, & needed to stop for lunch. I searched a Chinese buffet, & it led me into Madison, but the place was closed down. I saw O'Neal's & stopped, & I was so happy I did! Wasn't sure how the buffet worked, but the lady at the counter said, "Get a plate, & fill it up. If you leave hungry, it's not my fault!" The food was home cooking & divine! What touched my heart was the love shown for all people, of every kind there. And the fact that all ate well, shows that good food & kindness are universal.

Very good food and the people are very nice and friendly . we loved it there . It felt like home very time we felt welcome.

The fish was overcooked and the cabbage was undercooked. The chicken look like it had been sitting in the back for a while and that's usually the best item they were not quite up to par.

On Friday and Saturday night they have a good fish buffet. Fried fish, shrimp, little scallops, hush puppies, etc. Nothing fancy, but I love it . Feels like you are at a family fish fry.

Following a local’s suggestion since everything was closed on Sunday. My friends and I ate at O’Neals and we were all pleasantly surprised. The fried chicken was on point. All the sides were seasoned well. Collard greens, rice, lima beans, peas, Mac and cheese. Busy place with good country food. Our friends live close but and they are planning on keeping it on the list of places to dine. Thank you!

This is the best buffet around. Some of the best home cooked food you will eat. The price is good and includes a drink. Awesome fried ribs and wings on Wednesday.

This is a very nice hometown country buffet. Different days have different menu items. Country delicious.

It don’t look like much, but it is Clean! The food is amazing, if you want to experience southern cooking this is the place I would suggest. Everything from Bar b que Ribs to Fried Mullet to Fried Chicken or Shrimp or Clam strips! Fresh corn, Fresh greens, the list could go on forever but at the end, please do not miss fresh out of the oven peach cobbler or apple pie or the banana pudding. Your drink comes with your meal, so enjoy!

We attended for dining in and that food was so delicious! I even bought a plate to go cause i did not want to leave. The young lady who served our table was "country-kind!" She was the sweetest person. Made my wife and I feel like we were family. My grand parents had lived their all their lives and I had not been there in about four years since the last funeral. Everything taste so good. I really felt like I had my momma and 'dem in the kitchen cooking like when I was young. Then the waitress seeing we were about full said, "we have brownies too. Would you like that with ice cream? I almost fell outta my chair. I have a reason to go back on a 2 hour trip from Jacksonville again now. What a treasure this location is. Bbq Ribs, several types of fish, macaroni & cheese, cabbage with bacon, bbq wings, fried chicken, sweet potato soufflé, cheese grits, biscuits, hush puppies, shrimp, sweet tea, lemonade and so much more !!!

Awesome food. Excellent staff. ONLY loss of a star he due to poor drink selection. Lemonade, tea or water. But if I'm in the area again I will have it on my stop by list. Not as big as Lambert's in Foley AL but good atmosphere.

THE BEST country food buffet in the state of Florida. No kidding. The best. This is the food I remember from my childhood in the south. I feel sorry for any other restaurant in Madison. I can't imagine how they can compete with ONeals!

This was a great local place to eat. The food was good. $15 a person. It gets a 3 ⭐️ instead of 4 ⭐️ because we couldn’t figure out what to do and there was no signage or employee to guide us. They have a lot of room but an awkward layout. A long line of people paying, mostly for “to go” cut through and split the buffet. We asked a customer and they said fix your plate and sit anywhere. We did, with no clue how we would be charged. Then the waitress brought drinks and told us it was one price for everyone.

We showed up hungry & were NOT disappointed! Nothing fancy, but what matters most is the food & service, both of which were great! Place was hoppin' with diners & to-go orders were being filled left and right. Even though they were busy, EVERY employee we encountered was friendly & accommodating. Our beverages never even got half empty as our lovely waitress topped us off often. We had sweet tea, seems like you can always judge a southern restaurant based on their sweet tea... which was perfect. And even though they were packed, we were welcomed by smiles and warm conversation and never made to feel we were being rushed. And the food? Now... I rarely/almost never say anybody's food is as good as mama's, but they were DAMN close. Delectable. I made a pig out of myself on the buffet, which I was told changes depending on the day of the week. From Wednesday's spread, I sampled a little of almost everything: fried chicken, meatloaf, creamed corn, Brussel sprouts, white rice with tomato and okra, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and probably more but I rolled outta there in the beginnings of a food coma so that's all I can remember lol. Most assuredly will visit again and hope my next trip is just as fulfilling as my first visit. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're ever in the area. May wanna call ahead, their hours of operation are a little weird but I am so glad we caught em open and got to enjoy a home-style lunch which definitely hit the spot. Thanks again, O'Neal's!
