A very comfortable and pleasant place to visit. Super inviting atmosphere with great food. Had the French Cuban sandwich and the flavors were wonderful.

If you want to visit a historical and charming small town, Defuniak Springs is a great option. While visiting downtown, be sure to stop at Perla Baking Company. The service,coffee, and baked goods are amazing!

Came here a few months back as a second trip and was impressed. Stopped in today for the same items and was not impressed, only disappointed. We ordered Java chip and it had a horrible taste. My iced latte was as expected. We also ordered a warm croissant and quiche. I was asked if it was for here or to go and I said here. I was handed my croissant in a bag that was not warmed up and I asked the gentleman if it was warmed up and he stated he simply forgot, after I just ordered and acted like inconvenienced him. Then when my quiche was handed to me in a box I said my order was for here and he said he forgot they didn’t have plates that day (huh??). I was very disappointed and not impressed as I was on my previous visits. I frequent Defuniak Springs often and sad I may not have to visit this bakery again.

We had coffees, a smoothie and two types of croissant. All excellent. Lovely buttery flaky croissants. It’s not cheap but this is not average baking either. We bought extras for the road. Also great artwork and poems that made our 12 year old very thoughtful. Lovely chill place.

The food was very good (but pricey) and the restaurant is clean, if a bit stark. That's the positive. We really aren't "to-go" people and prefer to dine in. Sadly, the restaurant isn't really set up for dining in. It is counter service only and the counter staff didn't seem particularly happy to see us. Once our order was ready, it took three trips from the counter to get the order to table. Then it was another trip to get sweeteners, cream, stirrers, napkins, utensils, etc. And the only creamer is in a large thermal pitcher, so you either have to carry your coffee to the creamer or the creamer to the table (which may be frowned upon). Considering the cost of the food, I'd rather not have to act as my own server. As a to-go joint, it seems to work better. Go in, order food, sit around at a table to wait for your order, grab your bag, visit the extras station for napkins, straws, etc. and go. If that's your thing, you'll probably appreciate this place a bit more than we did.

Great spot for a coffee and a pastry!

This coffee shop wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either.. The quality of the coffee was five stars, absolutely! The time it took to have an Americano made, was ridiculously long, and they weren’t even busy. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. The food looked and smelled amazing! I will likely give this place another try, and assume they were just having a bad day. Another thing is that everything was very expensive. The prices at this cafe are higher than any other I have been in, including big cities. I would probably come here more often if it were more reasonably priced.

Great spot, great atmosphere, great food, great service! We’ve been here twice and has not disappointed. My family had multiple coffee styles, avocado toast, croissants (the almond croissant is the best) , berry cheese danish, chicken soup and sandwich, avocado BLT, the nova salmon toast, salad and more. Everyone enjoyed their meal . All tasted fresh. They also have a selection of unique canned kombucha. Staff is courteous and welcoming. Located in the Defuniak Springs historic district with a nice view of the train museum and Lake Defuniak.

Coffee is fantastic. The breakfast biscuit and croissant were excellent too!

My family was having trouble finding a food place open on New Year's Eve and we found this place and it was FANTASTIC! Cute and clean place. Food was so delicious!

Nice bakery and coffee shop. Donuts are really good and flakey. Blueberry muffin was good and full of blueberries and gluten free.

My son and I were greater with a warm smile and a clean dining area. The music was the perfect pitch atmosphere is WONDERFUL. The food was EXCEPTIONAL! I couldn't believe the cranberry orange muffin was GLUTEN FREE. The Pistachio Macaroons 10/10! 4 year old approved! Iced Chai Tea is a must try & the who ever made the sweet tea was taught well by their grandmama! Best for last, that chocolate croissant we went back for more!!

I had a wonderful experience at Perla Baking Co. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the place was cozy and clean. I ordered the oat bar, the lemon bar, and the hot matcha tea, and they were all delicious. The oat bar was chewy and satisfying, the lemon bar was tangy and sweet, and the matcha tea was smooth and creamy. I enjoyed every bite and sip, and I can't wait to come back and try more of their baked goods and drinks. Stopped in for coffee, cappuccino, and lava cake. All excellent. The place is well decorated and surprisi gly spacious. Staff was pleasant. We will be back!

Quite impressed! Usual it’s hard to find a good stop for coffee, this place has good coffee and a delicious breakfast. I high recommend coming off the interstate for a cup of coffee and a bit to eat..

I visited there today waiting on my hubby to get through with the dentist. The inside is nice and big and clean. I bought me a blueberry muffin, a chocolate crescent roll and a cream cheese Danish. All of it was sooooo good. The staff is really nice.I will definitely be back.

Associates were fine, coffee was actually really good but prices are insane just go down the street to Starbucks it’s actually even cheaper

Getting to where I really like this place! I enjoy their coffee. It's a good quality coffee. I had a quiche today because I didn't want much and I didn't want sweets. When they presented the plate, it was a quiche with broccoli and cheese, a small serving of green beans on the side, and a fork across the back. It was heated all the way through and it was an a portion. It was very tasty and satisfying. I was pleasantly surprised and even told the staff that I enjoyed the quality and portion size as well as as the presentation. I think this place has really become part of the community.

Perla is great, always! They have the best ever gluten-free muffins (guilty pleasure). Cute little shop & employees are awesome. Thankful to have this close by :)

I've dined at Perla at least a handful of times now. Every time has been five stars, food and drinks were great and beautifully served. This time I think they missed a mark a little bit. Hey guys, as a 22-year restaurant professional, aesthetics matter! Your food was still great, but it definitely lacked the aesthetic details this time and very little attempt was made to make the food attractive when served. Throw a little bit of greens on the plate with the quiche or something. When you're in the top notch of your restaurant game, which I believe you are, don't let the details slip and stay consistently awesome! It's what separates you from the rest. Cheers

The lemon bars are the best you’ll ever eat!! They make great matcha lattes, salads and breakfast sandwiches too! The staff is always sweet. So great to have gems like this in our little town.

I love this restaurant. I have been here many times. The staff is always friendly, the place is always clean. This is my new favorite restaurant. If you find yourself lucky enough to be there when the have breakfast casserole you need to try it. It's the best. Love that they have a tea selection. Most places only serve one kind of tea.

This is a lovely boutique style coffee shop. They are staying on trend by using only eco-friendly products. The food is tasty and diet friendly, if you discount the pastries. And you should not discount their pastries! They are divine. However, I found their prices a bit out of my "every day" budget. That is why a I gave them 3 stars. I will visit again, but likely only for a special occasion.

The coffee and food is amazing!! The baked pastry selection is so good. I usually get the quiche because it is so delicious…but I had the biscuits and gravy this morning…all I have is an empty plate to show lol. Sorry! The coffee is Amavida and is so delicious!! It is COFFEE…not watered down nasty stuff. The lattes are better than any I’ve had…It is so great to have a place like this local. Don’t hesitate…the price is worth it for the quality and fresh food you are served here…you will pay more at chains!! SUPPORT LOCAL!!!

Very disappointing to say the least. We had researched all the places around us before choosing this spot to have breakfast... and i would never recommended it. We both ordered a different style breakfast burrito that had a completely different description than what we got. Very bland and tasteless. Not to mention the staff all having resting b*@$h face and an energy of not wanting to be there or help the customers. Make sure you have ample time to wait for anything from coffee to food. The store it self was very clean and had some great artwork for sale... to bad it's full of bad energy.

Food: I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic taste. The food was very fresh. I had the Strawberry and Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish. They have breakfast and lunch options. Also, the coffee is one of my favorites Amavide Coffee from 30a. 2. Price: Very fair for the portions you received. 3. Staff: Was excellent and very friendly. They definitely took care of me, offered all options. 4. Parking: Plenty of parking on street near and in front restaurant. 5. Atmosphere: very cool and low keyed. If you need a place to work remote, this place can for sure be the place. 6: Hours Of Operations: 7 days a week. 7am central to 4pm central Yes, I recommend this place to friends and family and yes I will be back!
