The inside of the restaurant is very welcoming. The menu looked very good. Food felt short on flavor. It seems like they use quality ingredients. However, the dishes seem a bit bland and lacked in seasoning and flavor. That being said, we will be back to try other things on the menu.

The warm wine was delightful, but the bread with oil lacked seasoning and the carbonara was unfortunately not to my taste. It was not the most enjoyable meal I have ever had, but I appreciate the effort that went into preparing it.

I come here for dinner often - sometimes I sit at the bar with my boyfriend to watch a game while eating, other times I sit in the main dining room with a large group - because the food is consistently good and not too expensive plus the menu format can accommodate solo diners and big parties.

This place was Amazing. Food was so delicious. 👏👏to the chef. For dinner we enjoyed Pollo Putanesca and the Scampi dish for the appetizer we had Calamari and Dessert was so good. Price was not too bad for 2 people servings is for sure shareable so keep that in mind or be ready to take food home. Our waitress was so nice and took care of us. The hostess was also nice. We made reservatioms through their website and had no issues but you can call it in and they will call to confirm. I am not 100% sire but I think this was the same restaurant that was on Juan Tabo just North of Candelaria. Piatanzi for sure 5 ⭐️. Plenty of parking and in a nice quiet area. Oh I cannot wait to try their Pizza🍕 we will be back 👍.

Have had supper here several times. Food and service always great. It is nice to find a restaurant that consistently satisfies.

I applied to be a cook, owner says position is filled but offers me dishwasher position and I take it and asks me to come in the next day and talk. I arrive but he wants me to work but didnt tell me that and I already had plans made so he tells me I can start in 3 days, but the next morning he sends me an email stating "I've decided against hiring anyone for a week or two. I'll keep you posted if interested in future. Sorry!" Gets my hopes up and crushes them but I move on. And yet that following day, I see a help wanted ad on craiglist looking for a dishwasher. So instead of telling me to my face that he wont hire me, he gives me a sorry excuse. I hope you are reading this Pete and hope any future applicants see this and think twice about working for you.

Dear Piatanzi: Remember Covid? Remember the local folks, like us, who ordered take-out and who, when your doors reopened, returned? Do you remember all the times I brought my family, out-of-town guests, friends from work? Or the days I'd just stop in for a beer and appetizer? I won't be coming any more, or recommending you to anyone; in fact, I will have to warn them that if you make a reservation--a reservation!--for 8 pm and arrive right on time and are told the kitchen is closed--closed at 8 pm, can you imagine?--and ask why, the owner will come storming out of the kitchen to insult your wife, your guests, and you? Be yelled at, as if you had done something to them when in fact it was they who ruined your evening? This is the new Albuquerque, where all the restaurants are full of Californians and Texans, where local folks can suck a lemon if they don't like being treated like intruders in their own city. Well, it's been nice, and I hope you stay afloat, but you won't be getting another of my restaurant dollars.

Took 45 min to get the food and the restaurant was half 25% full. The food wasn’t great. Even plating was bad. Brought an overcooked chicken parm over penne pasta in a deep round bowl plate. No way to cut the chicken parm.

I love this place and really like to support local small biz. The staff are fabulous, the food is tasty, and the variety of wines is out of this world. But I have to tell you guys that gluten-free crust needs improvement. Please go to Amore (@ Green Jeans) and order a mushroom & sausage with green chili on a gluten-free crust, and tell me it’s not one of the best pizzas you’ve ever had?! Then work on your gluten-free crust recipe and see if you can get anywhere close to theirs…

This restaurant is the best. I brought my girlfriend here and she is really picky. We got the Penne al Forno and she loved it! The wine was great and the service was prompt. I’d come again!

I mean, Italian food in abq is notoriously bad, this was no exception. Wet, soggy, severely overcooked pasta. Wasn’t even tossed in sauce. Just a wet runny mess. Chicken parm is a classic, this was obnoxiously bad. Waited so long for the food….I could’ve made pasta dough, extruded it, and cooked it properly in the same amount of time. Limit that menu size and make something that’s actually worth the price. MAMA MIA!

Amazing italian food and great service!

What a neighborhood gem. Literally a 5 minute walk from our front door. My first time in. Greeted and say immediately. Merry Jim the friendly neighborhood, knowledgeable bartender who had been there since they opened 8 years ago. I ordered some housemade meatballs with fresh basil and freshly made, delicious marinara and homemade sourdough. A de-constructed MB sub if you will. EEOV for dipping. Balsamic vinegar and a velvety smooth Spanish red vino that was entirely complimentary to the whole thing. Then I was fortunate enough to meet Rockstar Chef Peter! His baby/brainchild/heart of a restaurant PIATANZI is definitely a 5 star winner 🏆 for me! I plan on spending many an evening with my new neighborhood favorite! 🤘🏼⭐😘 Thank you!

Really delicious authentic Italian food with a lot of options for different dishes. Great service too and a very nice space.

Atmosphere was quiet, service was ok, food was ok. What we ordered didn't match what was served. I know it's minor , but what I ordered was supposed to be fettuccine not penne. Dessert was supposed to have pine nuts but had pomegranate seeds..not bad, but didn't match up.

Had pizza, salad and wine. Food was great, upscale-kinda. The service, our waitstaff in particular, not so much. Thankful the other waitstaff stepped up to help when ours didn’t.

Good food and a great neighborhood spot.

Always a good experience with great Italian food. Would be 5 star but they charge if you want more than one piece of bread and they tried to charge us for bringing in our own birthday cake. So as long as you don't want extra bread or bring your own cake, you'll probably enjoy this place.

This place is in a unique location and was surprised by this. The service was very good and prompt. There is a good selection of foods and well priced. Quiet atmosphere. Nice to get away from the commercial type restaurants.

There was MOLD growing out of my tiramisu. DO NOT EAT HERE.

Pretty restaurant that doesn't match service or food. Menu seems like it could be great, but flavors were flat.. Bread was burnt and pizza sauce was missing seasonings. Servers wear oversized jeans and unkempt hair. It's very confusing who they want as customers.

Really nice local place with upscale atmosphere and great food. The appetizers, salads and pastas are all delicious. The only thing I don’t like about it are the short hours- they don’t open till 5 and are only open Tuesday - Saturday.

Hidden gem in the heart of a residential neighborhood, this restaurant never fails to deliver in terms of quality and quantity. The food is absolutely delicious; you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The offerings for children are great, and they can adapt to pretty much any taste for even the most discerning picky eater. The service is always phenomenal.

A neighborhood gem! Love the roasted artichoke hearts, the lasagna, the Capri pizza. Chef is brilliant.

If you want bad service with a side of fraud then this is the spot for you. Unfortunate but true. My friends and I were the first table in the restaurant upon opening for dinner. We were served by a very unfriendly lady, Id consider naming her by name but she never introduced to herself. Throughout our experience she was only at our table to bring our appetizer, bottle of wine, dinner (that took ages to get to us due to an error in the kitchen, which was told to us 30min after ordering) and to bring our bill. We paid part cash and part card. To my surprise, this server decided she was owed more than what we felt was appropriate as a tip and gave herself a little extra, hence the fraud comment. The food was good which is the reason for 1 star.

The pizza here used to be world class (2018), like seriously amazing. But the last few times I've tried it (2022) have been hugely disappointing, so I'm emending my 5-star review. Without exaggerating, this stuff is now on par with frozen pizza from the grocery store. To the management: If you have the power, please bring back the good pizza!

Misto salad to go. Mistook the Misto. Jk. That's impossible. Simple and delicious red wine vinegar eaten dressing. Vinegar attempted. Vinegar eaten. Vinaigrette is hard to type on this silly smart phone. 😜

Great food. Waited a really long time for someone to sit me. Several people saw me, even talked about how they were too busy to sit me, but not a word was said to me. Kinda weird. Great food though?

Some great pasta/pizza options, some are just good, but I've never had a bad meal here.. They are reasonably priced for Italian and do both delivery and pick-up so that's a major plus.

Pizza and wine selection was great! They are still doing a smaller menu. But it was really good!

Food did not look like photos posted on website or other reviews. Very disappointing. For the price, you would expect more…something other than a belly ache. Like an episode of nailed-it.

They are the rudest people, they don't answer their phone, they are overpriced and the food is usually not very good. When my 90 year old grandfather went there to place a to go order because they wouldn't answer their phone after numerous attempts to call them, they refused to let him order any food to go. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

I don't know if the manager has it against trans women, but even if you spend over 100$ on a really nice dinner with your significant other, the manager will definitely come around to your table FOR FREE, call you both gentlemen, and then ask, "what would you like sir?" To your girlfriend..... So women have to pass as women now? He literally only does it to trans women, as we've both seen it on several occasions. YEAH, Looking to come out for a nice meal? Order pizza hut or Dominos.

Piatanzi knocks it out of the park for 2nd visit. Both times we’ve had excellent service, and food. Salads are huge, FRESH and luscious. Kids meals are fancy yet appropriate. I had to finish out 2021 with a delicious meal made by talented chefs. So good.

Oh man, this place is great. Every was delicious, portions were huge, great prices. Service was also great. Highly recommend this place if you're craving Italian. Best I've had in Abq so far.

A hidden gem in Albuquerque! Hard to find but worth the effort..authentic Italian food. Probably the best I've had. Would never have known about it if I hadn't attended a rehearsal dinner for one of my brides..

Do you like wine? They got it! Do you like pizza? They got it! Pasta? Yep! Amazing salads? You guessed it! They have all that and more! The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and the staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. Always a great meal.

NM can be a tough state to find true good Italian food for Italians. Add a couple of gluten free people and it's almost impossible. Piatanzi did not disappoint! They have an excellent menu, so thoughtfully inclusive of gluten-free folks. We had really excellent meals (GF calamari with a fantastic lemony aioli, molluschi served on al dente fettuccine (GF!), Giacomo - a fantastic dish of wild mushroom, spinach and goat cheese, and a wonderful glass of wine. Great neighborhood vibe. Wonderful servers. An excellent experience and we look forward to working our way through their menu.

Pricey, but worth it for birthdays, date night, Mother's Day, those things where you pay more. Calamari was great, I had a pane sandwich, one of my kids had a pizza, everyone enjoyed it. They were filling every other table at the start of the pandemic, and we did curbside later on. One of these days I hope they start up their happy hour again with beer and pizza by the slice.

It is GREAT! The waiting time for your meals was about 10 minutes. The staff was very friendly. My experience at the restaurant was superb. Don’t judge the restaurant from it’s exterior it’s interior is fabulous

Delicious food and great staff. A very pleasant atmosphere. We had the house wine (10/10!), the steak salad and a salad with salmon on top. All was excellent. A great find!

I really really tired to like this.. I got chicken carbonara and an arugula salad. The salad was ok, the pasta was terrible. Chicken carbonara is my go to Italian order and there just wasn’t something right about this dish from here. It had a weird tangy after taste. I’ll pay good money for good food and this just wasn’t it for me. The service was excellent - very welcoming and accommodating and I wish the food was like their service.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend a private event there due to a last minute cancellation as I was passing through town looking and looking for a great meal. I now have a new fine dining fav in ALB! Wow, just wow. The food was amazing, staff was well trained, engaging and fun, the chef (Pete, a super cool dude) gave us a few thoughts about the particulars of the meal without being the attraction (he was clearly more comfortable engaging with guests individually rather than making a spectacle of himself and did an awesome job of that) and the whole night was remarkable. Hats off to the host, Destination SW. Great meal, great event, great time!!

One of the best restaurants in Albuquerque. The food is complex and delicious; the waiter had perfect timing bringing the next course right as we were finishing up the previous one. The wine selection was a little limited but complemented the menu anyway. Truly, a five star experience.

Piatanzi didn’t disappoint and it was the perfect spot for our date. Crowd was mixed as far as demographics go. All ages were in attendance when we sat. Great wine and drink list. Menu was simple and easy to read. Fresh baked bread was brought out after our drinks with a little bowl of Olive oil. I felt the olive oil was plain and could’ve had a house made seasoning in it. Bread was already sliced, hot with a thin hard crust and soft moist center. Yummy. So we chose the calamari to start. Actually tasted most fresh out of any restaurant in ABQ. It wasn’t the typical circles you get from other places it was authentic. Lemon sauce drizzled on top with a light batter and good crunch. Moved onto a shrimp salad that had large shrimp fresh crisp green veggies. Had to end with the house made tiramisu. Dang! That was so good I was going to get another one. It was soft, creamy, with a good amount of sweetness and great tasting espresso soaked foundation. Our waitress was awesome and she made the experience better. Gave us our time and explained everything we asked. Personally the cost is worth it. Our dinner was around $60 with hot tea’s to drink. All in all this was a great place and we will be returning when we are in the area.

I've previously had good experiences and food at Piatanzi, but our dinner experience Valentine's weekend was subpar - maybe they were having an off night. We had a reservation at 6:30 and no one even came over to talk to us until about 20 minutes after we sat down. Our appetizers (Palermo salad and beef carpaccio) came out fairly quickly and were tasty. We had to ask for our drinks after our appetizers - our waitress seemed to be frantically trying to cover the whole restaurant and struggling to even visit her tables. Our main courses were bad - there didn't seem to be any quality control coming out of the kitchen. My Funghi pizza (usually a favorite) was burned to a crisp on the bottom and my husband's steak was underseasoned and overcooked. The other components of his plate (ravioli, spinach) were good. To their credit, they remade the steak to be medium rare and did not charge us for the pizza or drinks. The waitress was extremely apologetic. Hope to have better experiences there in the future!

The lasagna bolognese was filled with meat and floating in sauce and cheese. Yum. My wife's Alfredo was pronounced excellent and very filling. A half order was plenty of food for her. The bread at the beginning while waiting for food to be served was soft, warm and delcious with the slightly spicy olive oil. Second time visiting this neighborhood Italian restaurant. Both times the room has been cold. If you go there during the winter months, dress warmly. Even the server was wearing a sweater.

I will definitely try it again when it's not Christmas eve and employees act like they like serving guests. The food needs another chance too.

Great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Classic Italian food with lots of options. I had three appetizers in our group. My favorite was the calamari. It was cooked and seasoned well without being chewy. It was Lightly battered and crunchy. The entree I selected was chicken parmesan with pasta. The tomato sauce was well balanced and chicken cooked well to sightly over done. Still very tasty! Go there for a good Italian sit down meal.

So delicious! Best food weve had come to Alb maybe 3 times a year. We had truffled fries, lasagna bolognese, ravioli, tiramsu, griddle polenta (Fabulous!) and cicollata (so fabulous chocolate cake).

My meal was delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely.

Food was very good. My fiancee and I got two different pasta dishes. The portions were big and filling. They have a wide selections of drinks. The place is a pricey. The staff were very nice and attentive but not over attentive. They have a very good air conditioning system so bring a light jacket if you get cold easily.

I can't say It was the best Italian food in Albuquerque since it's the only one I tried on my trip but it was very good...loved the upscale, sleek interior. The food and service were very good, the dessert yummy. The prices were fine for a privately owned, freshly made meal. It had a nice vibe and people were obviously enjoying themselves. Would come back if we pass thru again.

This is a very nice restaurant. Food is delicious. They usually have a good special offered throughout the week. My only complaint is that there isn’t enough parking for how busy the restaurant can get. Most times people end up parking in the residential area in front of people’s homes.

A really nice place off of Gerard and Indian School. I wouldn't have know it was there of i hadn't gone to meet my friend there It's a restaurant and a bar. With friendly people working there, and friendly guests.
