Great food. Fried shrimp were just tight.

We had the pulled pork with potato salad, cornbread, and a side of hush puppies. Everything was fantastic.

This is truly a must try BBQ stop, a local swcret that should be shared with everyone. The food is excellent and the staff is great! If I could get away with eating their half rack of ribs every day, I would...problem is they are only served on Thursdays. If you miss the ribs, be sure to grab a brisket plate. Either way, you can't go wrong. Get some potato salad, green beans, baked beans, and nanner puddin', and you will roll out the door stuffed fuller than a Thanksgiving turkey. I wholeheartedly recommend Pistol Jo's!

Customer service was nice but unfortunately the food was terrible absolutely didn't have any seasoning for $20 it would have been nice for it to have some taste to it. It was my first time but probably my last because of the food being so tasteless !

The BBQ was great with a number of different sauces. The spicy red was spicy. You cannot purchase by the pound but they do sell generous plates and sandwiches from a variety of meats. They also have a range of sides, including all those you expect from a southern BBQ place. The pulled pork was great, but the brisket was a bit dry - it was late in the day though. The French fries were tremendous and I don't usually get fries with BBQ. They have outdoor covered seating as well as indoor seating. The facility I saw was clean and efficient.

Everything my wife and I have ordered is awesome. I found out about them through coworkers who order lunch here frequently. Their comments mirror mine. Keep up the great work!

I have not Been here in about three Years! It had a Different Name then! I stopped for lunch Today! Clean, and Friendly! I decided to Try their Fried Bologna sandwich! I have Eaten at many Places up and down the East Coast! I thought Fat Harold's in North Myrtle Beach had the Best Fried Bologna Sandwich, BUT This Place has it Beat it With NO Problem! BEST FRIED BOLOGNA SANDWICH EVER!!!! Next Time I will Try their BBQ!!!

Diner, excellent! Had the mahi mahi fried, and smoked turkey, brisket chili. Good homemade bbq sauce as well. Don’t drive by this one.

What a great place! Saw a great write-up in my local magazine on Pistol Jo's, so we decided to try it out. I shared a few things with my husband and it was great. Standouts were ribs and an AMAZING North Shore beef and cheese sandwich (best we have had and we are from the Boston area). Also recommend the banana pudding -- Yum!!. Owner (Pete) and family/staff were very friendly. Great Find!

Simple place, but good food, fair prices, friendly owners. Good location geographically - not the easiest to get in and out of on 170 though.

Ordered two seafood platters for dinner tonight on a whim and had Doordash deliver. I have to say, this was probably the best delivery dinner that we've had in a long time! Fish and shrimp were fantastic, smoked sausage was incredible, macaroni was cheesy and good, hushpups were awesome, and everything overall was hot and super fresh. Will definitely do again!

Unfortunately for Joe's BBQ I have dined on BBQ at Besingers BBQ in Charleston and know what five star BBQ tastes like. I had the brisket at Joe's. It was dry and void of any fat making it some what tasteless. The price and quantity was reasonable and service was good. The place was clean as well.

We decided to go a bit off I95 for smoked brisket and we are qui5e pleased with th3 decision. Yummy, fresh fried okra, excellent lean servings of brisket, nicely seasoned and a couple of tasty , unique bbq sauces paired perfectly. (Spicy red, or sweet Cherry kept competing for top honors with my taste buds!

Best ribs and pulled pork in town! Ribs every Thursday and Friday! Fresh and falling off the bone! Best tasting collard greens and mac-n-cheese! Lady with the shorter hair, very nice!

Outdoor and indoor seating. Friendly staff. Great menu selection. Several sauces to choose from. Loved the spicy red BBQ sauce! Has a nice kick! The smoked chicken was not on the bone, it was cubed. A little dry, but just fine with sauce. This is one of our favorite spots for BBQ.

For a true tase of the Boston North Shore Beef, this is the place. Pleasantly surprised to find this sandwich on the menu in my backyard. I ve had the chicken before which was excellent, but the roast beef is the star. If you've had any beefs you know the the real deal needs JR Sauce. They ship James River down just for the sandwiches. Best beef I've had in a while. Fries were good, Staff was friendly and fast (from Lynn). Can't post a pic because I ate it.

This is a cute little place that has fantastic BBQ and fish! Just this last time I went, I got the fish plate and man was it great!! The staff is always so friendly and very helpful. It's my new favorite little spot to eat for lunch!!

We are so happy we were directed to this gem! The chicken and pulled pork are great, but make sure to try the Roast Beef, the Beef Brisket , and Flounder Fish Plate! The Brisket Chilli, Wow!

Came by on a Friday Night and was immediately overwhelmed with deliciousness. At the recommendation of the staff, I snagged the pulled pork dinner plate with Mac & Cheese and Fried Okra. All fantastic. My son had hand-breaded chicken tenders with fries and devoured them. Great, friendly staff and different options. Can’t wait to come back and try a few other things.

I was pretty disappointed with the food. I got the smoked wings and collard greens. The wings father a plethora of feathers and hairs still attached. When I spoke with an employee she stated that the company has complained about the hairs to the supplier. Unfortunately, it makes me think they don’t clean the chicken, because if you did you would cut off the excess hair. The collard greens we not seasoned or soft (very crunchy). The wings I were able to eat were delicious. My coworkers had cold food. We all agreed we may not come back.

Came here because they had great reviews. Went during lunch on Wednesday, they were busy but had plenty of tables outside. Ordered our food then sat at a booth inside. People who came in after us received their food before we received ours. We didn’t order anything complicated (Turkey w/greens beans & fries; Pulled pork w/collards & Mac-n-cheese). When our food did arrive the pork was cold, collards were tough and like they were cooked in pond water, green beans were drowning in the juice they were cooked in and too salty. Would’ve love to have a better experience.

Friendly service and the Brisket is great. The pulled pork is ok and if you are like me you prefer ribs so do not pay attention to the menu as it says ribs available only Thursday and Friday but that is wrong but I didn't find that out until after I had already eaten and was leaving 🤔

Wonderful food! Multiple BBQ sauces. Baked beans were on point as well as the salads! Banana Pudding is selling so fast, don't know if we will get any of that! Lol!!!

Not only was the BBQ outstanding, but they went the extra mile. I left my wallet at the counter and the owner and his wife kept it safe until I could come back and get it. They calmed my nerves and were so helpful. The sides were great too!

I'm upset I have been living near this place for years and have never gone until today. WONDERFUL FOOD!!! I actually went in for lunch to order Togo, ended up staying and eating inside. Told people have fantastic of an experience I had, so a group of us went back for dinner. I couldn't recommend this place enough. I can't wait to have a party big enough for them to cater it.... if you want a really really good fried chicken sandwich, look no further and the sweet pot fries are delicious. Their array of sauces gives you just about any flavor profile you can ask for. This is my new spot.. forever. Thank you Pete and Johanna 🖤
