Sea girt had a great bowl they make it fresh really good and a lot of people there

This place is sooo good. The food is amazing. Not only that, the staff is so friendly and supportive. Ive never been treated and acknowledged more. Definitely coming again!

We love the oatmeal bowls and juices! Everything is great at playa bowls Marlboro. All the ingredients are fresh and sweet.

NOT gluten free / Celiac Disease friendly! Fatima hovered at the register while I completed the on screen prompts. I selected $0 tip because I had a few singles in an envelope in my purse. As I reached for the envelope Fatima stared at her screen and shook her head before saying wow. She proceeded to sigh loudly before saying in an annoyed tone that she will have my bowl right out for me. I snapped my purse shut without tipping for that reason. Which I sort of felt bad for doing until I figured out she made a mistake while creating my bowl. Watch out if you have a gluten allergy or Celiac Disease! I ordered gluten free and received the blueberry granola. 1 star for the seriously out of touch customer service attitude! At the Holmdel location they select $0 tip before turning the screen for me to sign. I’m not certain if that’s why Fatima was annoyed with me, but if so that is not smart on her part. I see from other reviews that the customer service at this location has a poor track record. In my experience it has been lower than the standard other locations set. Another odd difference is that they never ask if my order is for here or to go. Its super minor, but in its absence I learned to appreciate the welcoming feel that question brings on!

i went in and ordered a bowl with strawberries and nutella and told her to charge me extra if needed to fill all the way up, somehow i paid $14 to get a container filled halfway with strawberries and the tiniest drizzle of nutella… literally paid $14 for a thing of strawberries, such a waste

My friend and I walked in and approached the counter and the two white teen girls that were working didn’t acknowledge us, didn’t look at us, didn’t say anything to us. We stood at the register looking at them to see if they would come over, they did not. A woman of Color who works there noticed us, came over to say hello, and helped us with picking up our order. She was very pleasant and kind but I will not be returning as it is obviously not a welcoming place for POC. I hope they treat their co-worker with more kindness then they did us. This is a classless establishment I will not be returning to. Also, i asked they substitute my granola for extra strawberries and bananas and they didn’t do it, lazy.

Not friendly at all. Rude. No one greets you. At the register the girls do not smile or treat customers right.

Quick disclaimer: I am not into getting businesses or people in trouble but man was this bad. I think this is my first poor review. My daughter had actually left a nice review in the past. Something like "Always good." Sorry to say we had a really poor experience at this location on May 7th, 2024 around 7:30 pm. My children like these bowls so I bring them here weekly but we will have to find an alternative. My son, who is 10, normally goes in to order his fruit bowl on his own. He did the same this evening but when he opened his bowl there was very little Nutella topping. I do not eat these but have seen the usual version and this was lacking Nutella. (It looked to be half the usual amount.) He was unhappy so I told him to go and speak to the staff and explain the situation (good practice dealing with real world issues) but he came back saying they wanted $1.00 to add more Nutella. At first he seemed ok to eat it as it was but I could see frustration growing on his face. I told him I would go and see what I could do. This is where the real problem starts. The manager, Michelle (I believe) could not have been more sarcastic and rude. No one is perfect and I get that these things might be made inconsistent from time to time. It's understandable, but how the management or any of the employees handle the problem is where it can be done right or wrong. It's that simple. I walked in and asked (in a nice tone) if it would be possible to add some Nutella to the bowl. The young lady working there, who was not nasty said "We have to charge you a dollar for that." I told her it was less than normal and she said she couldn't add any. At that point I told her I was not satisfied and just wanted a refund. I placed the bag on the counter. I saw her talk to the manager and explain. The manager walked over and took my item and threw it in the trash. I took notice but I imagined she was going to refund me and it made sense to toss the item. She finished helping a customer and I walked up to her. She says "Yes?" as if she did not know anything about the issue. I handed her my credit card for the refund and she said "I am not giving you a refund." She said that is the proper amount of Nutella "I made this my self." (I guess she can't make a less than perfect bowl.) I told her what are you talking about? You threw my item away... (My son had gotten coconut and strawberries on the side in a separate bowl.) I, at this point, I asked for a manager (not realizing she was the highest person there.) She said "I'm the top person. If you don't like, it call corporate." She also told me I should go and buy a bottle of Nutella and dump it on the top with a nasty glazed over look. I asked her if she thought it was proper to treat people like this and she said, "Yep!" I asked her what my next recourse might be? She said "We are corporate so go to the website and find out how to escalate the issue." Really shocking behavior. Hopefully she was just having a bad day. I will most definitely be following up with corporate so they know what is going on in this location. Wasted food. Poor customer service. And NO REFUND even though she threw the entire Playa Bowl in the garbage!!! Mike

Friends staff, very clean store, quick service. Made me a great power bowl, with added strawberries and cacao bits!! Delicious!

Loved the bowl I ordered. My daughter and I got a quick foosball game while we waited for our food.

I’ve been getting these bowls for years and it seems like this place specifically doesn’t always fill up their bowls to the top for whatever reason. I was shocked since It’s fruit not meat lol. If you looking for good portions go to fruita bowls and pass on this location.

While the bowls themselves are good, the service at this Playa Bowls is terrible. We've been a customer for a while, unfortunately, because my kids like their bowls, but I cringe every time we have to go there. Ordering online is completely pointless. Out of 5 online orders placed well ahead of time (like over an hour), 4 are not even started by the time we show up and they just say "sorry, we'll make it right now". But what is the point of ordering online if the "staff" (young teens) who "work" at this place never look at these orders until you show up??? I asked last time "why did I get a message saying my order is ready, if you have not even started working on it" and the response was "that message is automatic, it means nothing"!!! There is zero management and oversight over these young teens (I have literally never seen an adult working there), who would rather spend time on their phones and talking to friends who walk in than do their jobs (all of which I have observed while waiting at this location). I want to order online to limit the time I have to spend waiting at the store, but no matter how you do that and how far in advance you place the online order, most of the time it is not ready when you show up and your request to pick up what you've been told is ready is met with surprise. Very disappointing. This place needs to be better run and desperately needs adult supervision.

Needs to hire more help/have better management. Cashier will leave line of customers to make orders without even asking if you ordered online first. Then you wait longer and although I received confirmation that the order was ready, I still had to wait for an item to be made.

The people who work at this location are absolute gems. No matter what, when you walk through the door they make you feel welcome and offer great suggestions. This is my go to for lunch or dinner- there's no bad time of day for a playa bowl. Ingredients are consistently fresh and the location is very clean.

I tried ordering online as I had a large order for 6 but it was down so I was prepared to wait as it was also lunchtime. However, the two lovely workers got my order done in no time perfectly while handing out online orders on top of it. In a world where you’re lucky now if someone does their job it was so nice to have such a pleasant experience here I had to give 5 stars!! Thank you

I L-O-V-E Playa bowls. I am a new customer to this location and let me tell u I was ECSTATIC when I walked through the doors. I was helped by a lovely lady named Ava who not only had a smile on her face but put a smile on mine! I am 100% coming back to this friendly and amazing atmosphere.

This was amazing! The lady who served me was named Ava. She greeted with a jolly look on her face! And she looked like she truly enjoyed working and making bowls. Service was impeccable, got my bowl in minutes (maybe less):)

We are frequent customers of the Marlboro location. Bowls are usually made well but lately the service lacks. I can stand there for 10 + minutes without asking if I need help while there is 4 workers behind the counter & today one was nasty to my daughter. Not happy about it.
