Awesome as always!!! People,food atmosphere

Went tonight for our Anniversary dinner and I ordered the gnocchi sorrentino with chicken and when it came out it had pasta noodles and eggplant on it. I told the waitress it wasn’t what I ordered and she said yes you did but if you don’t like it let me know. It took her awhile to come back and when she came back I had switched with my husband and once again I told her I dont eat eggplant to which she said oh I can’t change it the kitchen is closed. She offered us free dessert… which i feel like I paid 25.00 for in my book since I nor my husband ate the eggplant meal. The bread and red sauce was very good.

We stopped by on a Saturday evening in July after passing by a few times in weeks prior, and we were glad we did! We had the gnocchi in two ways - pomodoro sauce and pink vodka sauce - and were not disappointed! The garlic bread as an appetizer hit the spot as well and was toasted and seasoned just the right amount. It also came with heated pomodoro sauce which was perfect for spreading. Reservation recommended! We were lucky that a single table for two just happened to be open. It is not a large venue but absolutely worth being in line for a spot.

We ate here this evening, and I have to say that this was the best chicken Parmesan that I think I’ve ever eaten. The garlic bread with the sauce was fabulous. The chicken Parm was light and well cooked with a great taste and the best pasta sauce I think I’ve ever had. My wife had the chicken marsala and said that it was excellent as well. Prices were good and the service was great. I would highly recommend this establishment.

What a gem this place is! Food was delicious, unbelievably reasonable, and its BYOB. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back. Very small so make sure you make a reservation.

Ricotta gnocchi with pomodoro sauce was the best I've ever had. Portions are quite large, brought home leftovers. Service fantastic. Limencello cake was absolutely delicious! Seating a little tight but was warm & cozy in outside area set up for wintertime.

This place was small, but cozy!! The food was awesome, and the idea of bringing your bottle of wine or spirits, as refreshing. This will be my go to Italian restaurant in Bristol. Plus the waitress were damn awesome!! I would like to think mine for a great experience 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Fantastic date night Italian! Our favorites are the penne ala vodka and the big daddy pizza. Take out is always a great option if you forgot to make reservations. Don't miss an opportunity to try them. It's delicious!

I've been here many times since Pomodro first opened. This restaurant is still one of the best for Italian cuisine in Rhode Island.

As someone who wouldn't consider Italian cuisine my favorite food, I absolutely adore this place and only choose here to come for it! Their handmade cheese ravioli with vodka sauce is beyond delicious - so good i eat it with my eyes closed to savor every bite. If you can get your hands on the carrot cake, it's the best I've ever had . It's seasonal though, I believe , so it's not always available. I love how small and intimate it is. I love it's packed every night. I love that you have to make reservations ahead of time and you only can make them a week out. It's makes it special, and proves how good they are. Give them a try, it'll become your favorite place too!

Best Italian restaurant on Rhode Island

Our very first visit we made a reservation for 8pm on a Friday, and we did have to wait a little longer for our table to open up which of course is always frustrating, however, we took a look at the quaint little restaurant that looked like it may have been a house at one point in a small neighborhood, and realized how every table was full, they were booked solid for days with their reservations, everyone was smiling, so maybe there is something to this place!! Well low and behold this is the best Italian food we have had since our grandparents were alive cooking! The pasta is fresh, the flavor is amazing!! The staff is so amazing!! While we waited for our table our daughter almost fainted so they were able to provide her with a chair and some water! We have been coming back to visit our daughter and make it a point to get a reservation each time at this restaurant or we order takeout and bring it back to CT for lunch the next day!!

You can't plan on having take out from here because they don't answer their phone and randomly shut down the online orders despite the website stating they are taking online orders. I want to give Pomodoro business but they don't seem to care. No one answers the phone and you can't order online. So disappointing.

The food is great and we really enjoyed the BYOB. Why is it not 5 stars then you may ask? Because we had a reservation and per the website, the reservations are for 90 minute dining periods. We were at the 80 minute mark, and our server Katie told us we needed to leave because the next table had arrived. There were several other outdoor two-tops available to seat the couple that had arrived ten minutes early. The conversation could have easily been to tell us that our dining window would end in ten minutes and to tell the couple that arrived ten minutes early for their reservation that they would be seated at the time of their reservation, but instead we were punished for their early arrival. It left a sour taste in our mouths after a great meal. Sad and disappointing.

They have no ability to handle take out orders or they don’t care about loyal customers. They never answer the phone or they put you on hold and leave you hanging forever.

Pomodoro’s has declined in quality unfortunately. It used to be great, but recently, the meal I usually get, the penne bolognese, doesn’t taste the same anymore. It is definitely great, but not the same unfortunately.

I don't know how anybody could say anything bad about this place. Reservations book quickly, making it hard to get in. (There, I said something bad.) It is well worth it if you plan and manage to get in. The food quality is fresh, homemade, and delicious. The service and atmosphere are top-notch. I love the way our waitress kept a watchful eye on her customers. She was not intrusive but responsive. Instead of chatting with the other staff members, she focused on the customer, which is rare. I will be back again and again. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Bristol County.

Food is wonderful. We all enjoyed our appetizers and meals and had to share with each other, each bite was tasty. Staff is pleasant, attentive and helpful with suggestions if needed. This is a very popular apot, definitely need to make reservations! Finding parking can be a challenge, give yourself extra time.

Absolutely love Pomodoro. It quickly became a family favorite. Food is amazing. Service has always been great when I've dined in. It is cramped at times, but they make it work. I will say that this is more of a question for myself and hopefully someone sees to answer it... I love the ravioli. They are delicious. I also love the chicken parm. Sadly you can not get the ravioli pomodoro and add the breaded chicken - so I upcharge my parm to ravioli instead of penne (this is a 7$ upcharge). My question is - is it standard to only recieve 3 or 4 ravioli? We do take out a lot and the last couple times I only got 4. Tonight only 3. I love the ravioli, don't get me wrong. But 7$ for 3 seems steep. I'm just curious if that is standard? If so, I'll know next time to get the parm with penne and if I want ravioli, I'll just order it with a meatball (also great).

Pretty good Italian spot. The chicken Parmesan was disappointing but I tried some other plates and they were good. The apps and desserts are tiny though!

Without question we will be going back again. The food and service were all excellent! We wanted to try so many things on the menu so we did a pizza for an appetizer and the four of us split a dish of the homemade cheese stuffed gnocchi, both of which were outstanding. I had the stuffed veal that has a sweet Marsala sauce on it and it was probably my favorite Italian dish I've had in a long time. I definitely recommend a reservation as the location is very very small. They do have outdoor uncovered seating too but keep in mind it could get rained out. We very much enjoyed going here and are excited to go back again.

We ordered a small Big daddy pizza. We were very disappointed. Because it was a dry pizza not enough sauce and hardly any cheese. The meats were not well cooked. It is a shame because they have good dough:(

Excellent Italian food. VERY small building, suggest reservations at dinner time. Half of seating area is inside, other half is a covered outside area with heaters. Slightly drafty in winter time but is opened up in the summer for outside dining. Have not tried a dish or pizza here yet that wasn't delicious!

So, so delicious! Very small and cozy. Service was excellent. The red sauce is fabulous as well as the meatballs. The antipasto salad, Veal Sorrentino with pasta and a side of meatballs is a must try. My husband loved the stuffed veal wirh mashed potatoes and broccoli. Chocolate fudge layer cake with whipped cream was amazing. BYOB (wine and ber only) is another plus.

We loved our first experience and definitely going back. The quality in the food and service was 10 stars. Mickela was exceptional in her service and recommendations. Clams casino and rice balls for appetizers were delicious. The size of the restaurant is petite but worth the quality of the food and service. I am anxious to go back and leave Cranston for Bristol. Looking forward to dinner at Pomodoro. Antonio

The food is pretty good, my opinion an only Mine as a native staten islander, I thought the food was pretty decent, the chicken parmis very good! I thought it was also a bit too cramped an found the hours weird an kinda don’t understand what the hub bub is about but I guess it’s definitely considered one of the better places in the area what stack it up against some of the best I’ve had in the tri state area No, but is it good for this are Yes

Pomodoro is small, but it is my favorite Italian restaurant in Rhode Island. You will want to make reservations, as walk-ins usually have to wait a long time for a table. Good food and good service. Good pizza too, but their Italian entrees are even better. Update 1/2023: It WAS my favorite RI Italian restaurant. I always have a red sauce entree here, but tried the chicken marsala this time. I was very disappointed. The sauce was cloyingly sweet and the chicken was very tough and hard to cut. I did not enjoy my meal at all.

I have had so many wonderful dishes from this fantastic gem in Bristol; however, I have to say that each time I have done a pick up, I have received some really strange reactions from employees after I chose not to tip. It baffles me that anyone would get offended by someone who didn’t add a 25 or 30% tip for takeout??!! We are no longer in the pandemic phase, as we were 2-3 years ago so, it may be beneficial for management to have a discussion with their employees about how customers usually don’t tip on meals that they are picking it up themselves. Attitude goes a long way! ✌️

The taste of their original sauces is fantastic. Super small place, felt a bit cramped, but THE FOOD! The portions are huge, and you can bring your own booze! Definitely going back.

I don’t like to leave negative reviews but tonight I ordered a few pizzas and a grinder. I requested the grinder heated and the dressing on the side. When I received the grinder it wasn’t heated and soggy with dressing on it. When I called to report the issue the girl who answered the phone had a major attitude and told me they need the sandwich back! Although it was no problem to return the sandwich, it was concerning to me as to why they needed it back?!

Food is very good. Servers are friendly. Eggplant parm and gnocchi are my current favorites from Pomodoro's. But the pizza is really good too. Only had 1 bad meal, marsala cream is too sweet. Like eating warm coffee milk ice cream.

Had 7:30 reservations last Friday evening. We weren’t seated until 7:50. That’s not all. On the way to our table following the hostess, she decides to stop and speak with a waitress about a seating arrangement. This couldn’t wait 15 seconds to do?!! The garlic bread was over toasted and tasted like plain butter with not a hint of garlic. The sauce on our parm dishes (eggplant and chicken) was overly sweet. Not even close to a what homemade sauce should taste like. Whoever is giving 5-star reviews on this page is either a relative, close friend, or has been eating McDonald’s all their life. By far, THE BEST Italian food my family and I have ever had! I had the Big Daddy pizza, my daughter had just a plain cheese pizza and my wife had the lasagna for dinner. We started with fried mozzarella and the meatball appetizer and they were both great! Our server, Allie, was just great and was very attentive and as sweet as can be. If we had more time here, we would definitely go back. Never been to a restaurant that was BYOB, very different; and so we could drink what we liked too. Recommend this place to everyone. HIGHLY recommend placing a reservation since it has limited seating, but so worth it.

My husband and I had the Caesar salad and veal parm... Both were amazing. You have to go online to make a reservation and hold your spot with a credit card, which is a little annoying. But when you have a small business, great food and staff, and lots of people trying to get in, requiring reservations is to be expected.

This is the worst pizza in bristol. It's tasteless and raw. The pizza was so sloppy and wet and soggy it was un edible. The pizza wasn't even cut all the way through. A pizza and salad was 40$. We would have gone and gotten our money back but my family was hungry.

I don’t know where to start the calamari was terrible very over cooked and tough. I got veal which I noticed only after finishing my meal was actually pretty raw and turned my stomach. I would have complained if it weren’t for the trashy drunk tables screaming back and forth on the patio making it near impossible to enjoy my time. Not sure what happened but I’ll never be back what a horrific dining experience. The staff should not let customers get belligerent and ruin other diners experience sad!

I ordered the Stuffed Veal and I was very disappointed. It was very sweet to the point where it should be on the dessert menu, not an entree. I’ve eaten and loved Italian food my whole life and never had a sweet veal entree.

Whenever my wife and I want THE BEST Italian meal and a cozy atmosphere (which is almost always) we come here. We’ve been going to Pomodoro for years and have never had a mediocre dish- everything is always amazing. I want to drink their Marsala sauce and their Pizza Nonnie makes me glad to have taste buds.

This place is fantastic. Great food period. Nice that it is BYOB, $5 corking fee for small bottle and $9 for a large bottle. I understand the corking fee but I think $5 should be it, like most places, $9 is too much especially if you are 2 people and that is what you had available when you went and took some home. Other than that, I love this place and go often with my wife and with other couples. Go early because you will have to wait, but it is worth it. UPDATE 3 years later in Feb. 2022 Been there a few times since the first post and it was still great. The only problem I had recently was the tomato sauce was very bitter, I wanted to say something but what would they do make a new batch? So I ate it but it was not enjoyable, my mouth actually burned from the acidness. It seams nothing is the same since Covid. I still will go back, but it may be awhile.

I have heard some really good things about this place and was excited to try it. The waitress did an ok job, they have nice menu, the food was ok. The restaurant is very small and it very loud, and you need to bring your own adult beverages. The prices were ok.

We ate at Pomodoro's yesterday. We had Cory as our waitress who was outstanding. We ordered the Calamari appetizer, Chicken and Veal Parmesean with pasta and Cannoli's for a take home dessert. The meal was fantastic. Everything was delicious and fresh. We were very pleased with the flavor and portions. This is a gem of a restaurant. Keep up the great work. 5 stars all the way.

Excellent food but impossible to get an order in on the phone! Would have been 5 out of 5 it if it wasn't for that. Expect to call a half dozen times before you actually get a hold of someone. Best pizza in Bristol though!

We typically love going to Pomodoro! The last few months however, there have been issues nearly every time we have gone which is unlike them. We always make a reservation when we go to Pomodoro. The last few times we have gone, we were told we had to wait 15-30 minutes for our table. Last night, we had our reservation for 830, we arrived at 828 and we were told by the front staff that it would be 15 minutes. They then called us to tell us that it would be an additional 45 minute wait or we could sit and wait at the bar. My husband had gone back in to talk with the staff and at this point they told us that the kitchen was an hour behind and they would not be able to seat us. We would of appreciated a call if this was the case so we did not drive all the way there. It takes us about 35 minutes to get there. We also had our children with our family so we could have a night out alone, which was obviously ruined. We typically have exceptional service here and are a bit disappointed at how last night was handled. I hope in the future they call reservations for a heads up that they are running behind or unable to take them.

This was awesome ! The hostess was super pleasant . Our waitress was very attentive and sweet ! The food was delicious and the atmosphere outside was quaint ! It seems sometimes when you go out the waitresses even if not busy , are very distracted and not pleasant. This girl was just lovely 😊

Do not waste you time, the food was good not great. Prices were very reasonable. We had reservations for 6 at 5pm, we finished our desserts payed our tab and were emedietly asked to leave for the next group of people. I have never been asked to leave a reasturant to make accommodations for another group. The Food Was Extremely Slow In Coming Then They Rush Us Out. Our server was great, the reasturant attitude was absolutely embarrassing. Save your money folks there are many other great Italian reasturants and you will not have to put up with the BUMS RUSH.

Classic Italian food with a flare! One of my favorite places to order takeout from or take my fiancé to. The entire crew is friendly and passionate about good food. My favorite dishes are the stuffed veal or chicken parm w/pink vodka sauce. Pay them a visit for a delicious meal you won’t regret it!
