Awesome place. Been looking for a long time and was very impressed with the authentic feels of the atmosphere, and tastes cuisine. The server was super friendly and helpful with questions I had on new to me food. Then I heard the chef ask another server about another table, and to ask them if they want some complimentary ice-cream for their kids and I was sold on this place for sure!

I will probably come again to try something else. I ordered the beef steak. It had a lot of lemon and I kind of like the one that my mother used to make however I may be biased. The chicken adobo was good however I think they should actually use drumsticks or chicken with the bone because it really reminded me of Hawaiian chicken. I love the atmosphere, it is really pretty.

The Filipino theme inside the dining room was great. The Bulalo wasn't what we expected, it came in a shallow serving plate instead of a bowl which leaves the dish to get cold right away.The Chicken inasal wasn't as good as expected either.

I really appreciate the young Filipina who checked my orders when I picked it up, she was very nice. However, the pancit had a strong onion and lemon taste that it didn’t taste like the traditional pancit at all. I hate leaving reviews but as a Filipino, you destroyed its authenticity. We’d love it if you could stick to the traditional Filipino pancit.

Edit: Since the last time I’ve been here, I noticed the quality of service and quality of food and portions went down. Food is still delicious but the portions are not shareable and are overpriced. We ordered lechon bulaklak, lechon kawali, oxtail kare kare, Manila fish balls, Taho, halo halo. Server brought our orders to us one by one with over 5-10 minutes in between orders. She never came back to our table unless it was to drop off food. She looked stressed and it wasn’t a full house. She was all over the place. She was wearing rubber gloves and I’ve never seen her switch them out. We ordered halo halo but the server made them too early and let it sit out. We received them extremely melted and were overflowing out the cups when we tried to mix. Interior design keeps changing and is more overwhelming, menu changed, portions are smaller than its previously reduced size while prices stayed the same/or went up. $12 for 3 small sticks of barbecue. Come on. Thank god for the unlimited rice because that’s the only way we felt full. I’m so upset about the pricey small portions of the appetizers AND the entrees. We had a group of 5 and it was not enough for us. We had to keep ordering rice to make up for how little meat we received. Meat barely even packed the plate it was served on and these dishes were $9-12 for appetizers and $20-30 for entree. Spent $160 total for the entire thing and as a Filipino, this was a big disappointment. We love to eat. We could’ve just went to Jollibee and got more for half the price we paid here. I’ve been a customer since they first opened (waited almost two hours past reservation time back when they did only reservations) and this most recent visit has been subpar. Food is still yummy but I wouldn’t be as willing to drive all the way to Jacksonville to eat here. The first four photos were taken over a year or two ago. The last two were taken today (9/1/24)

It was our first time here, so navigating the kiosk took a while since we weren't familiar with the food choices. Everything looked so good. We chose a variety of dishes to share since it was the four of us. Our waitress was very patient & constantly checked in on us. Food came out in a timely manner, piping hot! We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. We also chose a few desserts to share. I would love to return! Overall, everything was delightful 😊

One of the best done in Filipino restaurants around the area. The food was quick to come out and I did like that the sauces and condiments were on the table already. They offer Filipino dishes that you could share that comes with rice per dish btw. They also have some Filipino street foods like Isaw and taho. They also keep the restaurant and bathrooms clean 🤙 definitely worth the stop

This was my second time at purple roots and it was pretty good! The service was very welcoming and Filipino friendly(of course!). The food is a bit pricey and that also included their drinks of Calamansi juice that was $8 and the famous halo halo(that had banana chips which I didn’t know and not a huge fan of at all) that came out to be $12. They have kiosks that also make it easy to order which is really neat and I appreciated that. Overall, I give it 4 out of 5 stars due to the high pricing of all their items but the service, quality of food and atmosphere making it feel like you’re truly in the Philippines with your pamilya makes it worth it to come visit!

Purple Root is a must try! The food is amazing and the atmosphere submerges you in their culture. The only thing we would have loved is a platter to try many things at once. But that doesn’t affect the rating. Check it out and definitely try a purple dessert!!

The food was very flavorful. They brought the food out very quickly. It was pleasing to the eye. We had a large party and we ordered a lot of food that was on the menu and it did not disappoint!

This is a great informal setting with excellent design and decor. The music playing over the speakers is a little loud but maintains a pumped atmosphere. The ordering experience is okay, not great. You have to order on a large touchscreen. I’ve never been a big fan of the depersonalization of this feature. I had some questions about food allergies so I needed to speak with someone at the bar anyways. Least pleasing: the touchscreen asks you to tip the staff before you’ve tried the food and been served. That kind of defeats the purpose of tipping good service, right? I didn’t know what I was tipping for yet. Lastly, the food was variable in quality. The lumpia were very tasty. As were the chicharon bulaklak. The shrimp pundit was pretty good, except the fried shrimp have the shell on (under the breading) and they don’t provide you with a knife to de-shell it so I resorted to my fingers to peel off the breading and shell. The adobo was okay: the chicken tasted overcooked, was tough. All in all, I’d go there again but I will read the reviews about the different dishes and bring some cash to tip. I don’t believe in tipping before you’ve been served at a restaurant.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent! I ordered the chicken lumpia and it comes with a little bowl of Jasmine rice. Very filling. I also ordered the chicken pancit because my eyes were bigger than my stomach lol. I did taste it tho and it’s good! I will save that for dinner. Overall I had a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend.

I ordered Kare-kare to satiate a craving. The beef was soft and tender enough that I didn’t need to use the serrated knife that was offered. Although it tasted like Kare-kare, I wish it was not too soupy (thicker would have been better) and definitely more peanut-forward. Kudos to Alejandra for the friendly service!

The Filipino BBQ Chicken was amazing. The Buko Pandan drink is so tasty. I also had the sinigang and it was sour and delicious as it should be.

If you want to eat or crave great Filipino food with a fine dining atmosphere, you have come to the right place. My first time today and I am amazed of the place and food. Having the automated ordering kiosk made it easy and a great sales strategy as I was surprised how many I ordered for myself and i was a party of one. But it was worth it. Ms. Gilda was so friendly and accommodating. The food presentation was off the charts. I have eaten in a lot of Filipino restaurants but this one takes the cake. I never expected its only here in Jacksonville. Thank you Ms. Gilda and Definitely I will be back. Kudos!
