The chef is amazing! You're going to get five-star food without the five-star prices. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy, friendly, and relaxed!

Enjoyed a great meal, Coquille St Jacques and Chicken Parm. Great food and service, off the beaten track. Make a point to stop in, you'll be glad you did!

We went for the Easter buffet. Unfortunately it was very skimpy and the food was low quality and tasteless especially at $30 per person. The service was ok but they also include the gratuity in the bill which now brings it to almost $40 per person so the server is getting a large tip regardless of good service. I was completely disappointed. The regular menu looks good but after this experience I probably would not chance a second visit.

Upon entering this restaurante I wasn't exactly sure if everything was going to meet my expectations. A restaurant in the middle of nowhere and not that big. Wow, was I absolutely shocked. I was knocked into another fricken realm. Let me say that this food makes it feel like you just went to heaven, discovered a new universe, and entered an eternal wave of the strongest euphoria you could ever imagine. All of the food is great. I've never had regular wings taste like melted gold and be so good and juicy. Even the fries were absolutely amazing. I ordered the pork, and my family kept wanting to talk to me, but I couldn't even begin to formulate words because the food was hitting me so hard. 10/10 would love to live permanently at the River Valley Inn for the food, service, and atmosphere. If you're thinking about stopping in, cancel your plans and stop in asap.

We were in the area and stopped in for dinner. Everything was incredible. Every dish was seasoned perfectly. One of the best dinners we have had out in a while. Definately make the trip! It is well worth it!

An excellent choice for dinner! Darcy, our server was great 👍 She was always there to help us with whatever we needed. Service and meal was extremely prompt. We were very satisfied with the quality and potions. Price reflects appetizers, drinks, entrée, and dessert. I would highly recommend that you check out this gem. It feels like the family that runs this establishment really loves what they do and not the almighty dollar. The menu sections were vast. I've seen most places not have half the selections as here. Amazing, check it out!

All i can say it is my new dinner spot

I had the smothered steak and my wife had the chicken parm. Both were excellent! In addition, we had the fried calamari for an appetizer. All was delicious and perfectly cooked. It's nice to go someplace where the chef has a vision and some original ideas. Hats off to chef Andrew! Service was excellent also. Thank you.

I wish I didn't live all the way in Indiana, specifically so I could eat here again. The food was absolutely delicious, the restaurant was more than clean, and the staff was very friendly. If I'm the area again I will definitely be eating at River Valley Inn again.

Food was so good! I’m from Indiana and was just visiting for the week, but I would love somewhere like this near me. I was so surprised at how good everything was, I was expecting a small diner-feel to the food but it was plated and served beautifully! I’m surprise this isn’t a bigger place with food this good

What a wonderful meal we had at this restaurant. We recently purchased property in the area and we were looking for a place to have a nice dinner that wasn't 'bar food'. We found it! Calamari was fresh and amazing and I even tried the escargot! Our dinners, chicken carbonara and chicken parm, were homemade and you could taste the fresh ingredients. Can't wait to go again and try something else!

Honestly, the biggest turn offs for me about the place would be the dingy, dark, dirty interior, the bizarre, classless plating techniques, the long wait for mediocre food, and the most disappointing thing unfortunately would be the “risotto” which just turned out to be a sticky glob of cheese and rice (I honestly didn’t know what I was being served when they brought it to the table). The staff was quite pleasant, which is why I’m giving the experience two stars, but the food and overall atmosphere is incredibly underwhelming and disappointing despite the overpriced, over hyped menu. Would not recommend; you’re better off making a delicious, authentic risotto at home.

Had an awesome dinner. Behind the unassuming exterior lies an amazing gem. Make sure you arrive early or make a reservation as seating is a little limited. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had the pork prime rib and the Asian oso bucko and we were both VERY satisfied.

This place is the best hidden gem in the area. The best food in the area BY FAR. The menu is very extensive and each meal is beyond incredible. If you haven’t been here before, it’s a must. Prices are great and service is superb. Cant talk enough about how amazing the food is.

We have come to LOVE dining at the river valley inn. NEVER EVER have we experienced anything but top notch service and outstanding food. Prices are more than fair for the type/quality of the food. Whenever anyone comes from out of town it is a go-to place for us to take them.

Should of taken photos but trust me on this one. The food was amazing delicious and even had gator! The portions were hearty left with more to eat for the next day. The staff friendly and very accommodating. Love this place and will go back for more!

This is the best restaurant in Lewis County and maybe even more. Chef Andy has a passion for food that is hard to beat. His dishes are creative, delicious, and well presented. Atmosphere is cozy and elegant. You won't be disappointed!

Our friend, Donny B, brought us here when we were visiting the area. Wow! The service was friendly, the menu varied and the food was delicious. My husband couldn't stop talking about his osso bucco. No frozen mozz sticks here! The marinara sauce tasted like my own! We will definitely be back the best time wex are visiting. The locals are lucky to have such a great place to go to!

Good Food nice friendly service

Fantastic food and service. I had surf and turf and my boyfriend had the pork osso bucco. Both were fantastic as were the sides (risotto and veggies). We have been looking for another go-to place and have found it here!

Chef custom cooked steak to perfection (melt in your mouth delicious)! I highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms they were phenomenal!! Our new favorite dinner spot!!!

Best food around. Quiet and relaxed with actual food. Nobody else in the area compares, the prices are low for the quality and portions. Definitely the best local restaurant, happy it is off the beaten path, because it is so much better than the other places, and I like it being quiet.

Wanted to go out for a late night meal. Thought of River Valley Inn. Hadn't been there in a very long time. Going in the door at 7:30 pm noticed closing time was 8 pm. Asked if we could still get something to eat. Was told anything on the menu. We said great. We had scallops and shrimp over angle hair in a white sauce. Very very good. The place to go. RVI has wonderful food and a nice, quiet atmosphere. The family who runs it is very nice. The only thing I can say against it is that the food does take awhile to be served sometimes. However, that is because the chef makes everything fresh. I would definitely recommend it.

Mothers Day buffet excellent. Full house short wait considering...good food, good service...well worth the less than 10 min. wait. We will definitely be returning.
