Updated Review! I was passing through Lancaster and decided to give this place another try. I am.so glad I did. I will leave my last review below so you can see it, but that is not my experience after today. The Pho was excellent today. The broth was perfectly seasoned. The add on basil, sprouts, etc, very fresh. The meat excellent, and the temperature of the whole thing was just right. It has been a year since the last time I was here, but I would definitely come here more often on work trips. I recommend this place 100%. In addition, the owner came out to greet and ask some of us customers what we thought of the food. That added to the experience of great service. The place is very clean and it feels very legit. #ItsGoodHere (OLD REVIEW)Good atmosphere, service was good. Unfortunately, I have traveled to many places and I know good Pho. This place gets 3 stars out of 5. My colleagues liked the other plates they ordered and the Thai iced tea was great.

The owners and staff of the restaurant are lovely people. The food is authentic, you get big portions, and it is delicious. If you're not familiar with Vietnamese food, Ken gives the best recommendations and happily shares his traditions and flavors, if you ask. This place is truly a"hidden gem." This restaurant is a must visit if you're a foodie. Don't forget to say "Hi" to Pablo.

I'd thought I'd had traditional, authentic Vietnamese culinary cuisine before, though limited being more inland. Saigon Cafe was a crazy awesome experience, and I swear, chef Ken is gonna be the next YouTube food star; I got some of the best food I've EVER HAD AND a cooking lesson!!!! The chef shared not only all sorts of super cool facts about the traditions behind some of the dishes, but also different traditional ways to prepare and eat them. He actually gave me the right ingredients and taught me how to ceviche beef!!!! It was SO fun!!!!! And he was so right!!!! It totally brought out the flavor more, and helped to keep the broth more distinct. They don't compromise on ingredients, they ALWAYS have the most authentic (they even had banana flower!!). I'm already here again, the very next day, devouring the weekend special. Most places you get good street food. Saigon Cafe feeds you Vietnamese soul food!!!!! Seriously, you're missing out, go to Saigon Cafe; you're gonna absolutely love it ❤️ **For the anti-spice crowd: they are actually really great at adjusting any spice while fully maintaining the flavor, most of it isn't hot-spicy in the first place, just flavorful and fresh. ***They also have super adorable fishies!!!: Pablo, Napom, Thing 1, Thing 2, and the Jerome's!!!!

Excellent pho and refreshing limeade! Love that they offer a kids menu with Vietnamese options. The service was quick and the owner was very friendly.

When finding this hidden gem, we anticipated fresh authentic Vietnamese, and that is what we got, it was so delicious! What we did not anticipate, and were even more so impressed by, was the Best in Class serving experience. The staff were so welcoming and took pride in their dishes, truly a great energy. The owner was invested in his customers, and creating a familial environment. We look forward to going back!!

My son was hungry for Pho so I googled Pho in Lancaster, PA and this place popped right up. I’m glad it did because the Pho was amazing as well as the vermicelli! We will definitely be back. The staff was friendly and attentive! The owner was so nice and spoke to us for awhile telling us about different items in the menu and how he takes pride in his pho broth!

During this heatwave we did not feel like cooking, so we went out for a a lil date night dinner. We had the best dinner, and honestly the lemon grass chicken was the best I’ve ever had. . Our waiter was nice, and we had a nice conversation with the owner. He even brought out some chili oil for my husband, which he really enjoyed. Overall a great dinner out.

Tried this place based on google reviews and it did not disappoint, best pho broth ever and we also had the fresh rolls and the shakey beef both were insane! We will definitely go back, sorry forgot to take photos! I recommend very much!

Me and my family were here in Pennsylvania for a soccer tournament when we didn’t know what to have for lunch we went here and we loved it! I recommend the shakey beef. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing

Delicious Chicken Rolls and Thai Iced Tea! Chicken with Rice and Crispy Noodles were excellent! Be sure to share, there's so much food! Ken, the owner, made great suggestions and is adding a new menu item. We can't wait to come back to try it!

I had a wonderful meal. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions and the food was plentiful, quickly made, and delicious. I would recommend it, the atmosphere was quiet and parking available.

Coming from the DC area (Loudoun County, VA) for basketball tournament, we were looking for Pho. Someone from the area recommended Sai Gon Cafe. The owner greeted us and shared about the menu. The Pho was great. The soup was very good. Much better than the Pho in our area. When we are back, we will definitely go back.

Really good pho and other Vietnamese restaurant. House made broth for Pho is super special. They have favors and smooth taste. Goi Gung are good with their sauce. Staffs are helpful. Credit card accepted. Definitely will go back again.

my sister and i went there today, and i’ve been going here for years. there were young kids working, one of them i believe his name is vinny, was not attentive of other customers. he was focusing on the customers in front of us which they were suppose to be paying. but they were playing around. he seem to know who they were. we waited 30 mins for two rainbow desserts. there was another young kid i believe his name was hayden. he took our order, and was very polite. as we were leaving, vinny chased my sister out the door and assumed we didn’t pay but my sister had a receipt to show him..

Weekend specials add variety. Too bad each dish is plenty of food...I want to taste more, but I'm full.

We have gotten takeout here so many times since we started going. It has been delicious every single time we get from Sai Gon! I love the lemon grass tofu, which comes with delicious vermicelli noodles and pickled veg. Also, the fresh rolls with tofu is amazing, especially with the sweetened fish sauce. Highly recommend getting food here, if you like great service, flavorful/fresh food, and consistency!

This is my 3rd visit and I plan to return the next time I’m in town. I normally go for the pho (with is great) but this time I got the won ton soup and it was…AMAZING!

Best Vietnamese food in the area by far! The staff is super nice and the owner is very personable. He talks to me all the time as we talk about everything from Teslas to traveling to little Saigon in LA. Their food is very authentic and they’re always trying new things. They have a lot of dishes that other Vietnamese restaurants don’t usually carry like Bun Bo Hue and make your own spring rolls. Highly recommend.

Edited in March 2024 - Used to be our go-to Vietnamese spot but in the past year or so it has dramatically gone down in food quality, service, the portion sizes yet prices increased. After today, not sure it’s worth giving it another chance. 2018 review - Absolute best Vietnamese food in Lancaster and perhaps Pennsylvania. Always amazing everytime. Fast service, friendly staff. Pho is fabulous and great vegetarian meals as well!

Our family of 10 came today for dinner and we love every dishes at Saigon Cafe. We will come back for Vietnamese authentic foods.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and attention to detail. We were greeted early on by the owner and got the opportunity to chat with him. His passion for his food and his business is unmatched. Best pho, and we love all the veggies packed into the summer rolls. We are happy to have found our new “go to” spot!

I had the pork Vermicelli, and it was AMAZING!! I love the added peanuts on top of the pork, and the pork texture and flavor were very delicious!! I will definitely be coming back here again and would recommend this place to anyone who loves pho and the other dishes!! :) The music was great, and I enjoyed the mix of pop and indie!! The staff were also very nice and the young man that waited on us was very nice and kind :)

Good food, good service. Pho broth was very rich and flavorful. Banh mi was ok. Thick hard bun could have been better. All else was good enough. Service was helpful and very polite. Will be back!

This restaurant is a gem in Lancaster. It by far the most authentic veit food. I have to say everything I get there is always fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is cozy and has a home like feel which is perfect when you know your getting a hardy and home like meal. The owner is very friendly and takes care of his customers well. The staff were stellar service. Thank you for your great food. Keep it up and continue to strive !

On our way through the area, dropping off our daughter at college. Did a Google search to find some good food and found Sai Gòn Café. Had good reviews, so we decided to stop and try. Not disappointed. Great food and interaction with staff. I went with the small version of the wonton and then the lemon grass with beef, outstanding flavor with both. My wife and daughter went with different dishes, both vegetarian based. Loved their dishes and said the tofu was cooked very well. Sai Gòn Café will be our stop while travelling through from Pittsburgh to drop off our daughter.

I’ve been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants. Pho is my go-to and they have the best broth I have ever had. Their other items have always been fantastic as well. The owner is always there and makes his rounds, welcoming customers and thanking them for their patronage. We always have a fantastic meal and feel appreciated which is very rare in todays world.

Beef Pho and Pork Banh Mi were both amazing! The owner, Ken, is a really nice guy who obviously puts a lot of care into his business. It always stands out when a business owner is always there and strikes up a conversation with customers.

Ate here today around 2:30 pm waited to be seated. Unorganized staff. The door way when you enter was kinda dirty the curtains dirty. Customers were coming in and tables were not ready. Menu was the norm. I ordered spring rolls and instead got summer rolls. They were not good At all not the typical fried rolls you get. They were very big more like egg rolls you get from the Chinese take out. And they were not crispy and hot. Next I ordered the pho special which was ok the broth had flavor but the meat portion was on the smaller size. Also ordered pork chop and rice daughter liked it. Thai tea was good. Ice coffee was not. No sweeten condensed milk at all. Over all I will not be back to this place. The guy who was running the place was hovering over us. Keep asking if everything was ok. He knew everything was not ok! And when I said I didn’t not care for the egg rolls to much he started rambling about why it like that. It just my opinion. And what was I was use to from other Vietnamese restaurants. I give it a 2 star for effort. The staff seem young and overwhelmed.

We ordered the egg rolls, chicken bowl, stir fry, and the 54 Pho Bo Vien. All were very good, lots of flavor. Highly recommend coming here. The owner took the time to greet patrons & spoke with us for a bit about the restaurant. Will definitely go back!

1-26-2024 my first visit. I'd been hearing wonderful things about this restaurant - and they were true! Delicious, large portions, extremely friendly & helpful staff, clean, & great energetic atmosphere. I'll definitely go back. (Be aware: They told me they close from 3pm - 4pm)

Whole experience was 5-star! My husband and I enjoyed Spring Rolls, Chicken Pho, and a Pork Rice Vermicelli bowl. ALL of it was excellent- the server was very helpful and the owner made sure we felt welcome. He answered questions we had and told us his story- the whole place seems like its very well maintained and a pleasant environment. We'll be back (Often!!)

I’m visiting from out of town, and I stopped by Saigon as a recommendation from a friend. I’ve had a lot of pho before, but this was one of the best broth I have ever had. It was so flavorful, and I have to mention the Customer Service was phenomenal. A young gentleman and young lady helped me, and both of them were great and super pleasant! I will definitely be back to eat here again.

We just found our go to place for Vietnamese food! The owner was great, he was so patient in explaining each of the dishes to us. You can tell he really cares about his craft. We had the seafood pho, lemongrass beef, and shrimp & pork vermicelli salad. All 3 were wunderbar! The vermicelli salad was SOOO fresh tasting! Can't wait until next time to try other menu items.

I decided to try Sai Gon Cafe based on its positive reviews. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and it was so flavorful! The Thai Iced Tea was a perfect complement. The staff was very attentive and the owner took the time to stop at each table to ask how everyone was enjoying their meal - no one had any complaints. He also told me that he makes all the broths himself and he definitely knows his craft. I can’t wait to try their pho and vermicelli next time I’m in the area. My son enjoyed the pork and shrimp fried rice I brought home.

Easily my favorite Vietnamese place in town (and still one of my favorites after living in Atlanta for years) - the food is great and reliable. I still miss their half-moon crepe (it was excellent), but their pho, lemongrass chicken, and banh mi are still fantastic.

Yummm just yum 😋 the spring rolls were no joke delicious!! That fish sauce was bomb the filling inside was flavortown serious. The Customer service was wonderful as I was greeted by the 2 sweetest peeps at the front. Back to the food the bhan mi was delicious and that bread perfection. My son had wonton soup and rice with chicken both equally flavorful and lack nothing. The fresh spring rolls were just that fressssssshhhhhh and the jasmine tea the young man recommended chef kiss. Do yourself a flavor and visit here yum.

What a great discovery! It was my first time here, and I had the most enjoyable experience. Food flavors and portions were perfect. Service was superb, and the ambiance was fantastic. Plenty and easy strip mall parking and good location.

Had a fantastic experience at lunch today. The pho was phenomenal and authentic, something that’s not easy to find. The owner is extremely friendly and you can tell the level of care that goes into everything they do!

My first time here and I ordered rice noodle with chicken and veggies. It was so delicious and the waiters were so courteous and very welcoming.

Me and my family went here for dinner, and we have no regrets. It was a long, productive day, and this was the best way to put it to a close. We personally met the owner, Ken. He's extremely nice and accommodating. They have a large 75 gallon aquarium inside the store with 6 fish. Pablo the Oscar, Eddie the albino Oscar, Gerome the Plecos and an African Cichlid I forgot the name of. 10/10 highly recommend!

I ORDERED ONLINE AND WHEN I GOT THERE MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS THE PLACE WAS A LITTLE SMALL BUT THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE FOOD PEOPLE WERE EATING LOOKS GOOD THE WAILTRESS DIDNT LOOK HAPPY AND THE CASHIER WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE . PLAYING WITH HIS HAIR LIKE 15 TIMES WHILE I WAITED ALSO . HAD TO WAIT LONGER THAN I EXPECTED FOR MY FOOD .THE FOOD I GOT WASNT WHAT I EXPECTED AND MY PLATED HAD ONLY LIKE 6 SHRIMPS 🙄 BUT ANYWAYS. THE FOOD WASNT BAD BUT I DONT THINK I WILL RETURN .

came in on a weekend and I was again looking for a meal with rice! haha so I got their Dac Biet and enjoyed the flavor of their pork. It was not the usual vietnamese pork that Ive had in terms of how it looks but it tastes delicious nonetheless. We also got their seafood crispy egg noodle which was flavorful and huge! a good item for sharing indeed. the highlight for me though aside from the pork was the avocado shake! it was very very good - sweet and creamy! perfect pair for my Dac Biet and was satisfying. Staff that day were pleasant too and we also had the opportunity to meet Chef Ken who was quite passionate about Sai Gon Cafe. we had a good time and happy that Lancaster offers so many diverse food.

Stopped for a weekend lunch while passing through Lancaster. Friendly and fast service. Very attentive. Broad menu with lots of delicious options. My partner was particularly pleased with the bun, which is distinct and reminds her of the style she first encountered in southern Louisiana. Enjoyed the pho as well. I'm sure we'll be back next time we're in the area.

You're really here for the food and not the ambiance. The food is AMAZING. Lemongrass shrimp bowl is tdf. Authentic pho? Delish. I had withdrawals during their vacation this summer.

When I see "make your own spring roll" on the menu, I know I'm in an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Everything served was delicious. The grilled shrimp and pork were tender and flavorful. The pho was exceptional; I could tell the broth was made from scratch, not a cheap powdered version. The flavor was rich and layered, and we savored every drop. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal and will definitely return the next time I'm in Lancaster.

I’m from outside of the Lancaster area so was really happy to find this gem for dinner. I had the beef stew which was excellent. Very authentic and excellent tasting broth. Establishment was very clean and all staff were very nice and attentive. A+

The restaurant itself is a dump. We got take out the grilled shrimp bahn mi and bun dishes were good, on the other hand the pork bahn mi and bun were awful. The pork is extremely poor quality, I could only manage about half of the pork bahn mi and we threw away 😫 the pork bun. Large portions tho.
