Some seriously gourmet stuff. I’ve been before, and liked their food, but this time I tried the traditional taco, and was blown away. No other word than WOW, I mean it was probably the best taco I’ve had in town!

This is not only the best Vegan-friendly restaurant in Westmoreland county…it’s also just the best restaurant around! Rest assured you will feel very good about supporting Sam. They couldn’t be nicer! Don’t think twice…just go there. Now :)

Street corn bowl - perfect! Queso - fantastic. Salsa - amazing. Service - can't be beat!

We came in at a weird off hour and the location feels surreal from someone who only hikes around Irwin, but the guy at the counter was very friendly, the food was delicious and fresh, and we all had a lovely time! Got the street corn bowl with shrimp. The slaw was fantastic, guac was killer, enjoyed everything else thoroughly — if you like the cheesy zesty flavor of elote or esquites, you’ll love the sauce they top it with. I was inspired and recreated it the following day at home. My friend got the skirt steak and lobster tacos and said both were tasty — the steak especially. Overall, a great place in a unique spot!

This place is so eclectic. It is a FULL VIBE! I love everything about it! The service is impeccable!! FISH TACOs are absolutely delicious! Most of all the tacos have the same ingredients in them. The shrimp taco is a quite delicious as well; I think a Mango salsa would pair good on it. The chicken meat is cooked to perfection super tender! Wish there would have been different ingredients in the chicken opt. I added the street corn & guac to it & that elevated it forsure. Really cute & charming spot. Staff is incredibly kind!

I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Our fried fish tacos were burnt and there was barely any place to sit. Limited soft drinks available. Salsa was pretty good and the chips were good. Very limited seating due to the odd layout of tables and birthday party that was spreading out.

Salsa Sam's tacos are incredible. His restaurant is one of the best, if not the best place to eat out in the Irwin area. If you're looking for Southern California style tacos, this is the place to go. Ingredients are fresh and the food is delicious. My personal favorite is the smoked potato burrito, but we also love the Mexican street corn bowl and fish tacos.

According to my 5 year old: "Salsa Sam's is like... is like... superman" This morning, our family was feeling murderous. This evening, we are all smiles, joy and loving unity- thanks to this oasis. The food is amazing and so fresh. The family is so kind and positive. They take so much care in every detail of the restaurant, menu and ingredients. We try new things that we would never otherwise try, and I never have regrets. Notable mentions to the Queso, Shrimp, Corn bowl and the best ice cream and arcade games. We can't wait to go back in person and will definitely be trying catering! Thank you guys so much for pouring your hearts in to this place and sharing your joy with our area of Western PA.

We went on Cinco de Mayo. It was slammed, but the staff had a good attitude. They only had tacos and a salsa bar. I want to go on a normal night. Their salsa is fantastic!!

Was looking to try a new local spot and decided to stop in to salsa sams. The interior is unique and eclectic. The staff were extremely friendly, food was brought out quick, and was delicious. Will definitely be back.

If you haven't, you should. Absolutley loved the food, and the prices are great! Friendly service, clean place, colorful shop. I can't say enough good things. I didn't have room for the Penn State ice cream though. Next time for sure.

We've been here twice. Both times, the food was fantastic. Fresh ingredients and great tasting. The thing that stood out was the exceptional service. You can tell this is a family business and the family cares about it's business. Will definitely return.

We were on Rt 76 and decided to stop by Salsa Sam’s based on the recommendations. We were glad we did. Sam and his son were extremely hospitable and the food was excellent. This is your family owned hole in the wall amazing road trip eatery that you’re glad you found. I had the Mexican corn bowl along with the jackfruit taco. The owners were extremely gracious and gave the boys ice cream on the house. Excellent customer service; excellent food; great value and no restroom break after eating Mexican food. Highly recommend.

He provided chips, salsa, queso, and gauc for a trivia night at Quinn brewing company. The snacks were honestly pretty decent. However, when he gave my group some chips in a bag, we were surprised to see used and dirty gloves in the bag.. when I let him know he was kind of just like “oops sorry.” Also the next day I was pretty sick and that was the last thing I ate for the day. Good food, just needs to work on his customer service skills..

Just discovered this gem, and couldn't believe I haven't heard about it until now. The food is fresh and homemade, and the small cozy restaurant is simple and full of charm.The owner and his son were as nice as could be. The food is so delicious, there just isn't any reason to go anywhere else for tacos, burritos, and much more I've yet to try. Can't wait to go back. Check it out, you'll be happy you did.

A tiny little storefront with the unexpectedly best pescatarian food. The best service and quality of food. The young man taking our order was polite, friendly and helpful. When. We came back to get our food he recognized us and brought it to us helping us skip the line. Sam works tirelessly and is upbeat and makes each customer feel valued. Had his food at Helltown before but this was a first at the restaurant. Not a lot of indoor seating and it is an open kitchen. There is a patio out back or they will package food to go. Included utensils and lots of napkins. Cant wait to come back and try something else. We had bandito and breakfast burritos.

salsa sams is AMAZING. tried out a beef & shrimp taco along with queso & salsa while they were at the Delmont Apple fest. the people were great! cant wait to check out the full menu & check out their place!! 10/10!

Our experience was wonderful. I had a lobster taco, and we shared nachos and mac and cheese, which was all delicious. Atmosphere and staffing was great. Courtyard setting out back was one of our options.

I'm from NC, and I travel for work. I casually scrolled looking for local places to eat while out here in my hotel. The high rating stuck out to me since I rarely see a full 5* rating on Google. I figured I'd see what the hype was about. So I was in the Dominican Republic for vacation a couple of weeks ago. I had some authentic carribean fish tacos while down there. They were absolutely delicious. Salsa Sam's was better. 'Nuff said. The hype is real. What a little gem of a restaurant.

Starting with the atmosphere, it was awesome, we were directed to the back patio where there was a colorful decor and a fun little ring and hook game, we met salsa Sam and he was an awesome dude! The whole staff was really friendly and the food was amazing. They use plant based meat so everything is vegetarian friendly but I couldn't even tell the difference in flavor, it was awesome! Overall this place definately deserves the 5 stars.

Perfect dinner for travelling family. This small little place has wonderful food. Sam cooked our food on a single oven as he was having electrical problems. Just amazing what he accomplished while waiting for the electrician.

I will be dreaming about the Mexican Street Corn Bowl until the next time I'm in the Pittsburgh area. Amazing food, super fun atmosphere, and friendly folks. Ten out of five stars.

We were visiting from Seattle and accidentally paid the wrong parking meter and he paid it for us lol! Totally recommend for anyone looking for fresh food and incredible staff!

Stopped in for lunch today. Burrito was delicious. Quirky little joint with outdoor patio seating that you have to walk down a tight little ally to find. This place is definitely getting added in to the rotation.

Dude, I've been sleeping on Salsa Sam's. I don't typically speak highly of Irwin food, but this place now has my respect. I had the bandito burrito, kind of a Mad Mex style-fork burrito, but with wayyy more flavor. Little too saucy on the inside for me, especially since it's covered in sauce, but now I know how to order it. Will be back for sure.

Salsa Sam's is a family owned hole-in-the-wall casual restaurant serving tacos, burrito, nacho, queso, guac, and of course, chips and salsa. Sam is from southern California and started his family business by selling his well known salsa at farmers markets and branch out into a full fledged restaurant. The restaurant is small with limited seating inside but they have plenty of outdoor seating and have a cute, colorful backyard with plenty of shade. As people have mentioned in reviews before, it feels like you're walking into your friends kitchen, which is nice and intimate. The food was flavorful and service was top notch. If you're in the area you should definitely try them out! My wife and I had their deal of the day special which was chips and salsa and queso for $6. It was a killer deal because you get a full bag of chips and two deep dishes of salsa and queso. Definitely worth the money. The queso seems to be Velveeta mixture with their salsa mixed in and a few more things but they make it taste great. The salsa is a finely blended mix of sweet tomatoes, onion, jalapeno and cilantro with some seasonings. It was mild in spice. Afterwards the wife had the Baja shrimp taco and the Fried Cod taco and I had the Bandito Burrito. The Baja shrimp taco has wild caught shrimp, cabbage, cotija cheese, lime and adobo sauce. The Fried Cod taco had the same toppings but with beer battered fried Cod. The burrito can either come with plant based meat (Beyond Meat) or wild caught shrimp. I got the shrimp. Its filled with rice, black beans, guac, queso, grilled onions and peppers in a flour tortilla served with salsa and more guac on the side and topped with cotija cheese and adobo sauce. The wife liked her tacos and so did I. The only thing I would have liked is if the cod had a more crispy batter. My burrito was flavorful and wasn't dry like some burritos can be. The rice and shrimp were my favorite part of the burrito. We ended the day with a pleasant conversation with the owner, Sam. We were just about to leave before closing so if was nice to get to know him and his story. When we sat down it felt like we also got service like we were at a nice restaurant with his son coming to ask if everything was okay and if we needed anything else and when we first showed up they were friendly and ready to help us. The owner is super friendly, helpful and a pro at what he does. The fish and shrimp tacos are my favorite. The shrimp is lighter, juicy and never rubbery. The fish taco has a nice kick of spice/heat to it but is so flaky and buttery even those who normally don't like spicy foods seem to love it. If you like pulled pork he makes delicious jackfruit tacos. I even had his lobster taco and I loved it too! I'm not a huge fish eater but his stuff is always so good. I also always start with his amazing chips and queso. Some of the best queso I've had. I usually try to take some home or get the queso Mac and cheese. He also makes a good quesadilla all using the same delicious queso he makes.

All the other 5 star reviews were on the money. Cozy unpretentious place not unlike Gram's kitchen that serves saporific tacos and burritos. You'll most certainly be coming back for more. Sam knows how to treat you well too. 👍

Have been to Sam's many times, and I'm never disappointed. This time I have the shrimp burrito as and it was amazing. My new favorite on the menu. Relaxed beach vibe in the middle of Irwin.

I can’t say enough about Sam and his tacos. This guy is from Southern California and brought the cuisine from that part of the country right here to downtown Irwin. Man am I glad. His employees were happy to work there and I could see why.

Took a drive to check out Luehms and stopped here by chance. The food is phenomenal and the service was amazing! The people are so friendly and welcoming. If you're in the area, this place is a must!!

Salas Sam's is soooo good! Sam himself is a super cool west coast guy...got to chat with him as he made our fish tacos which were delicious 💗 I highly recommend 👌 Also its BYOB and the court yard is dog friendly.

We love salsa sam's food! It has so much flavor and everything is just delicious. The best queso I've ever had and love the different kind of tacos offered. My kids dont typically like tacos but they ate the kids tacos from here without complaints. They also love the chips and queso! We have recommended them to everyone we know because we wish we had found this gem sooner! The owner is also super nice, polite, and welcoming :-) we will be back regularly for sure!

The jackfruit tacos are a life changer! I live in another state and have been searching for anyone that makes them where I live. I’ve almost driven 3 hours just to get a jackfruit taco from Salsa Sam! They’re THAT good!

Small place with big flavor! Portions are generous and fresh. We walked in and ordered and food was ready in about 20 minutes. We tried the breakfast burrito and Mexican street corn bowl. First time ordering and everything was amazing. The salsa is perfect 👌. We will def be coming back 😋

After going to Southern California this past January and experiencing what "authentic" tacos mean, Salsa Sam's was a good find. I am excited to have them close to home and hope that others take the opportunity to try them out. I went with the fish tacos and the Mexican Street Corn with rice and it did not disappoint.

Excellent food at reasonable prices, one burrito is all you'll need. Great vegetarian and vegan options for people like me, decor is really chill, and the owners are awesome.

A small unassuming taco place in Irwin. They serve a variety of fresh, quality and very tasty tacos. This is not your typical chain taco! These are Baha/LA style, with options for fish, shrimp, seafood and 'beef'. (they use beyond meat for the beef which is excellent.) They make their own salsa of course, as well as queso and guac. All delicious/fresh. We sat out on their small patio, served by the owner and his son. Very friendly folks. We found them through the salsa that they sell fresh at local farmers markets. What a great find! We definitely will be back and recommend them.

The best tacos in the Norwin Area - hands down! Friendly staff, great service, speedy orders & delicious food. I go every Tuesday for the Taco Tuesday special and now have a crew that get the tacos because they are sooo yummy.

Salsa Sam's is a great place to eat! They have an excellent menu with several vegan friendly options of that's your bag. Try a street bowl, potato burrito, or jack fruit tacos. You can't go wrong. Just a few tables for dining in but a great place for takeout. Family owned and run - plus they have Penn State ice cream.

Hands down the greatest Salsa bar in the entire United States. Salsa Sam not only redefined what salsa itself stands for, but changed the game as far as how great tasting salsa truly is. Please, do the world a favor and visit this place.

This place is a hidden gem. The workers are the most friendliest people. I have been having stomach issues and tried one of their plant based tacos and it tasted amazing! And I hear they are a 1$ on Tuesdays! Also the queso is the best around. This place is a must.

We ordered a large order for a business. Not only did Salsa Sam make everything fresh right before, he delivered them all for us so we could get some amazingly fresh food to get through our day! Thank you so much! Everything was hot and amazing! Sam's salsas are all fresh and hand made and I haven't tried one I haven'toved yet.
