Good bar food, fun atmosphere (inside and out), mediocre service but not terrible, they just seem a bit confused! Prices are great for both food and drinks - absolutely will be back!

This is our go to place for Friday fish fry....Great food

It's been over 4 years since I've been here. Everything's changed when it comes to service and cook staff. Everyone there is in their 20s and didn't seem to know much except 1 person who was mainly serving me and my husband. I'll go back on the weekend again when it's slow. I've tried coming here multiple times during week but no where to park. We'll try again soon.

Burgers are very good! Several choices what you want on them. Sam's Corly fries were the best. Was made to order. Staff is very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend!!!

Smaller place but the food was good. We had a couple different burgers and tried the funnel cake fries. Overall good experience.

If you are looking for a top-notch neighborhood bar, THIS is it! It's normally busy, but never too busy for great service. The food is great, especially the salad (I.M.O)

I go to Sammy’s Hilltop very often to meet up with two of my sisters, brother in law and my parents to be together and enjoy conversation!! We order food and lots of drinks and have a great time with bartender, Katy!! Well, as we were still ordering drinks(spent over $200 in all, if not more) we were asked if we were leaving soon cus there was a group coming in by 6:00pm and needed the big table that we were on!! I have never been asked a question like that in a public bar that we were still buying drinks and enjoying my family EVER!!! We all felt like we were getting kicked out, so we got our cards and left right away!! It was so unprofessional to be ask that question!! The sad thing is it will be along time before I will ask my parents to meet us there again!!!! I wished Katy never had to leave as our bartender!! We were and are very disappointed!!!!

Juiciest bar burger I've ever had it was cooked to perfection! If the burgers continue to be made with fresh beef and cooked to order I will eat there multiple times a week

When we arrived there was one table sat and a few people at the bar. Waited 40 minutes and one out of the four people at our table received their food , they were able to finish their food before the rest of the table was told it would still be at least another 10 or more minutes before the rest of the table was served . The manager and owner were more worried about making excuses about the cook only being 16 than they were about the helping the kid and serving their costumers. There were 4 waitresses on staff and the owner sitting on her butt at the bar.

Fabulous fish! Greg, the owner, does everything he can to make sure everyone is seen when they come in and keeps them updated on any wait times. Staff does a great job checking in on customers, ensuring they have what they need. This isn't your basic, run of the mill bar food..... please stop out and try it for yourself.

I'd give it negative stars if it was an option. I was there last Saturday and for an hour. and saw 3 fights break out I. The first 30 minutes and no police came to any of them. Definitely not going back. Too much tension in that bar.

My favorite place to go in the area! I love the outdoor patio, very friendly staff, the food is amazing! I love their fish fry, and the Hilltop burger is amazing with a pretzel bun. They also have the best hand cut fries I’ve ever had! You can’t go wrong.

Went here for my birthday with my son and family and since it was a Friday it was very busy. We waited for awhile to get waited on but since they were busy that was no big deal. We had two very delicious appetizers, pretzel bites and cheese bites and they were fabulous. My husband and I had the fish fry and me also a coconut shrimp side which was delicious with the marmalade sauce. Also as a bonus they had caffeine free diet soda which is hard to find at alot of places and my husband needs for his health issues. Would give this place 5 stars only snag was they didn't have anything other than fries for my grandson to eat. On Fridays they have a limited menu (mostly fish and a few other things) so if you have picky eaters would suggest going on a another day. Would definitely go back if in the area but maybe at a less busy time .

Sammy's is a well-run place! And it shows! Owners are hands on and hire and train their servers. Excellent service and great food. Best place to watch Packer games!

Drinks fairly priced. Would get better reviews if their slots weren't so tight. I saw so many people, including myself, who won nothing after playing for a long time. That stinks

Great service, food, and drinks. Outdoor patio, and barn area is great. Large area's for corn hole/bags, and hosted parties. One of the best bars in town to hang out at year round.

Very delicious patty melt very clean tasting not over greased or old tasting lots of meat on the wings very good prices!!!!!! Absolutely awesome food so far definitely coming back!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness!!!! Had an appetizer of tots and bacon... apparently they thought I had friends coming as well 😆 TERRIFIC food and even better service!!! Definitely gonna be a main stop at the Hill Top when I'm in Janesville

This is starting to become one of my new favorite places. $.60 cent wings on Sundays and they are amazing. Fish fry on Friday is one of the best around. Keep it up Sammy's!

Had a 90 birthday party there today the place was awesome we couldn’t have been treated better. Shawn and Greg couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly anything we needed or wanted they did it the food we had was very good. I would highly recommend this venu for any party Thanks guys for making our experience great

Got a carryout of 2 orders of fried fish with potato pancakes... waited almost half hour for our order..I checked the boxes to make sure everything was in them before leaving.. both boxes had French fries.. we brought that up to the server/ bartender and he had the fries replaced with potato cakes.. which we had to wait another 15 minutes for... after getting home and opening the boxes the batter on the fish was extremely soggy and smelled of old fryer oil..put it in the oven for a couple minutes to hopefully crisp it up again... and all this did was draw the grease out of the fish... the garlic bread was so soggy you could wring the grease out of it...I don't think they season the fish at all as it was extremely bland as were the potato cakes... just no flavor at all.. maybe they should use carry out boxes with the vent holes in them to release the steam in the box which would keep the food from getting soggy... this was our first visit there after reading good reviews on Facebook...I don't think we'll return.. nice place inside and our service while waiting for our carry out was ok..season things a bit and it might be better...
