Super friendly staff, excellent food!

WONDERFUL!!! This is a must stop at place when you're looking for a great restaurant in this area .. we drove from Daytona Beach Shores. Address: 5535 S Williamson Blvd #656, Port Orange, FL 32128 Friendly greeting from both the host and server. The ONLY negative was that there was a bit of time lapse between the time our server came and took a drink order and then when she came back to take our food order. We ordered a fried grouper sandwich and tater tots. The tots were hot and crispy and the grouper sandwich was tender and flaky. Served un with a slice of tomato and shredded lettuce. We had tartar sauce on the side. Hubby had two bloody Marys with his meal. Happy hour was all day and he got a discount of $2 off. His Bloody Mary's were only $5.95! He enjoyed them immensely and being a bloody mary connoisseur he said they were excellent!. They were served with a stalk of celery and three olives on a skewer. The San Diego grill was clean & upscale. Nice clean bathrooms with lovely almond scented soap. The prices on the food are very reasonable. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

We were traveling from St. Augustine to home & decided to see what The Pavillon Plaza had to offer. We found San Diego Grill✨ Upon arriving, they open the door for you & greet you graciously.😊 Much Appreciation... However, the food & service was a bit subpar. We ordered the New Orleans Mahi Entree (which is suppose to be Blackened Mahi & smothered w/ a cream sauce)...it was Definitely smothered, but wasn't blackened 😔 I had the San Diego Burger, but asked for a Grilled Chix Breast instead & they DEFINITELY accomodated, but I didn't even ask for a box, due to lack of flavor 😔 Our server tried to be "on point", but was distracted elsewhere & unavailable for our order until about 15-20 mins from us sitting down. NOW...he was splitting checks at a 9-top, but he didn't take our order ahead of time & once coming back to us...did not utter the words, "Sorry for the delay." Not trying to sound like a Karen" Definitely not trying to be rude, but I want to be honest. We would not go back, although it may have been a "fluke" & they have a wide assortment of dishes. Wish the best for them!

We love SAN DIEGO Grill!!!! We’ve been coming here for years and today’s meal was once again nothing short of excellent. Their steak tacos are Amazing, but the hangover burger with an egg and fries has become a favorite. My wife got the salmon bowl once again, (pretty sure it’s her 10th time) and was exactly as expected. Our kids are simple and just want some good old Mac and cheese and fries and they loved it. It’s nice to come to a restaurant with such diversity on the menu. There is something for everyone and the fries here are the best in the area. (Make sure you get some) The manager, Chris, is the most interactive and helpful manager of any restaurant I have ever been to. He is constantly checking up on guests and orders. He is opening doors and singing happy Birthday with the crew. (Yes, we come here for all the birthdays now :) If you are looking for a nice, conversation friendly restaurant with excellent food for everyone’s appetite, then this is one you have to try.

Usually one of our favorite places but not last night. Bad experience. Chicken salad sandwich croissant was old and dry. Waitress took it back and I reordered a plain hamburger. I ordered it because my friend with me had ordered the chicken salad sandwich twice before and one of her favorites. She returned hers also. The manger made a rude comment out loud to her across the wall of the restaurant for all to hear. Ask me how my replacement hamburger was. I said not very good but I ate it. He was again rude. Got up to leave, manager went out the front door and around to the side door to avoid us. Ask to speak to him through a waiter and he sent message back that he was too busy to talk to me. Really!!?? Needless to say, we will not return. And I am one that hates to complain. Usually I just eat it.

My husband and I just moved from DeBary to New Smyrna Beach a few months ago. Finding a new "local" hot spot to regularly visit can be challenging. We found San Diego grill when we did a map search. Our first time there was about 2 months ago. From the greeting when we walked in, to the food, and service, it was all phenomenal! My husband and I have been back twice since. We actually are thinking about making a bi-monthly visit for dinner. Each time we went, we each had 3 different menu items, and ALL were fantastic! First visit, I had the Chicken with spinach and Feta. Second visit, I had the cajun chicken pasta, which I loved how it was made because it was not a heavy cream base that made you feel ugh.. Third visit, I had the Salmon. Everything about this restaurant is spot on! This restaurant and staff deserve 5-stars!

One of my favorite little restaurants in town. Fresh, delicious food at reasonable prices. They even have a full bar.Service is always great. Lots of different food options for a smaller place, definitely something for everyone. They serve brunch daily, which is a plus for me. I have come several times with my family on holidays, where they offer a special menu along with more traditional holiday fare. Overall a great spot to grab a meal while out shopping or after a movie.

I was with friends, and I had the Teriyaki San Diego bowl with Shrimp and brown rice. My friends had the salad with Salmon and half rack of ribs. We all cleaned our plated! Everyone liked what we ordered.

Jenifer was our server and she did an amazing job. I really enjoyed the Baja fish tacos and sweet potato fries.

Better to go later to beat the early bird crowd....however. food and service are exceptional. Prices are in line with quality of food as well.

Food was fantastic and the prices are great. You will spend more money at a fast food joint. Had dinner with three people and everyone's meals were outstanding. Terrific service also. Will definitely recommend this place.

Absolutely loved the ribs...they were off the charts delicious. Not a dish to miss at this place. The serving staff was attentive and courteous. If you're in the area, it's worth a trip to check them out. I was very pleased with my experience.

Initially honestly the front door wasn't very nice an sorta short due to not having reservations & we could go sit at bar. The young lady you served us + was their bartender was AWESOME and totally redeemed it all - The ability to customize my blackened Mahi sandwich was wonderful + tasted actually amazing. Manager finally redeemed himself after apologizing for being out of the chicken salad an not knowing until almost when the 1st order was out. Atmosphere of 80s music was spot on - I would say I'd expect a little more fish for basically $16 but the flavor was really good though. My working theory since growing up around my grandparents restuarant has always been the condition of the bathroom was a reflection on the management quality of the establishment. It hasn't gone wrong yet.... I'd say it wasn't dirty but definitely needed some taken care of is all I'll say. But if you want a good flavored meal and some twists in a couple classics then it's a good place but expect to pay more than usually.

Great breakfast...build your own omelet

First time customer today referred by a friend. I had the Salmon Salad, which was perfectly prepared. Our service was on point and the manager was joking with customers and to be honest, it was nice to see that because it wasn’t the normal generic greeting that many places have. I would totally recommend this to anyone in and around the Oort Orange area. No pics this time, but there will be next time.

Can be an older crowd, we always enjoy the outside patio. Plenty of shade, the manager is great, always checks to make sure you're enjoying your experience. Food is good.

Great service. Tasty small and large plates. Menu has something for everyone. The only drawback is its loud, fast music.

10/10 highly recommend! I have the Salmon with Tomato Citrus Sauce and mashed potatoes. It was so good. It was light and fresh. Just the right amount of seasoning. The staff and manager were super friendly. I didn't have to wait long before someone came to check on me every 10 or so minutes. Even the staff that weren't serving me directly asked if I was okay or needed anything. The atmosphere was a nice vibe, and I liked the decor. I would totally go again to try some other things out.

Fantastic food and excellent service. We were there twice in one week. Once during lunch on a weekday so it was empty, and the again on Sunday when it was packed. Both times the food was great and it arrived quickly. The owner is always there so that's what keeps the place good.

The restaurant is awesome. The best macaroni and cheese I've ever had and everything was delicious and the portions are generous.

I’ve been coming here for years! Today, deviated and got the Baja tacos with Maui. tacos. Originally, I requested no barbecue sauce, the were so not tasty, I requested a side of barbecue sauce. Unfortunately, they have a fishy taste and smell so I will not be ordering the baja tacos again. I had the pomegranate margarita first and then it had a bit of taste and then the plain one also bitter. The sweet potato french fries were good as always. I usually get the chicken piccata which has always been good in the past but like I said, I deviated today and I was not pleased with the Baja tacos. Atmosphere was so so lots of people talking business otherwise experience would’ve been great, if not for the negative that I described and I always try to be on the positive

I dont remember the last time I didn't take home leftovers from a restaurant, but the food here was very excellent! One of the few restaurants I've ever been too with mac and cheese that had a cheese stretch, it was delicious. The burger I had was well prepared and cooked right. Very tasty food here, I will definitely be coming back for the ribs!

WOW! We absolutely LOVED the atmosphere, service and food! Everything we ordered was delicious! If you like spice & shrimp order the Cajun Pasta…in the mood for Teriyaki, order the San Diego Bowl - Chicken & Teriyaki Sauce! Kids loved the Fish & Chips. Mac & Cheese is homemade and so yummy! Looking forward to our next trip back!

JESS our Server was awesome!!!! But I'm sorry to tell you Jess that our FOOD WAS 1,000 times BETTER!!!!!!!!!!! I mean that in the best way for Jess, she gave us the perfect recommendations for what we were in the mood for! I'm asking for her next time I stop in! The food was very good! The hangover burger was perfect. Not many places have delicious burgers and even less have delicious burgers with a perfectly cooked over easy egg. The San Diego Club sandwich was also really good. Definitely a hefty portion of ham and turkey. Servers and management get a 10/10.

Very attentive staff excellent selection of awesome food!!!

Stopped in for a quick lunch before a movie. We both ordered a burger ... now I love a medium rare burger...and there are places where you order a medium rare burger and it still comes to the table well done. I was pleasantly surprised to get a burger that was warm to touch and cooked a perfectly medium rate. My only midly negative comment would be the caramelized onions instead of chopped pieces I would have preferred sliced so I could have tasted the onions as most of the pieces fell onto the plate as I ate the burger. So, my order was a burger medium rare with bacon and caramelized onions... it was pretty dam delicious. the sweet potato fries were a plus. My lunch date also had a perfectly cooked burger. A few weeks ago, we stopped in for lunch, which was my first time in. At that time, I ordered the half and half chicken salad sandwich and half cesar salad. Both were delicious. This is why we decided to try the restaurant again. Now about service. From the front door which is opened for you as you arrive. yo being seated, you feel welcomed. So far, on each trip in, we have had attentive services with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not only do they take your order, but listen to your concerns and menu questions . They are attentive without being overwhelming. It is a big yes of our going back for another lunch.

Food is excellent for quality and price and service is top notch. We have never had a bad meal here. It is a little out of the way from where we live but we try to stop by when we are in the area!

Another delicious meal! Lunch or dinner San Diego Grill, hits it out of the park!! Today I got Fried Zucchini, Chicken Marsala (which was the best I’ve had), & a regular Margarita!! Our server Kelly (also bartender) was very attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to come back! Sorry, I was toooo busy eating to take a good pic before I started! So I took a pic of my left overs. 😂

This is an enjoyable restaurant to go to for lunch or dinner if you are looking for classic American fare and a few entrees with a twist. The restaurant has a large menu and is a good choice if you are dining with several people that have different tastes. In addition to burgers and pastas, there are large salads that you can custom build, with all homemade dressings. There are daily homemade desserts and although I have not had the opportunity to go for breakfast, they offer a large breakfast menu as well. Noise levels can get quite high, so I do not recommend if you are looking for a romantic atmosphere, but they also offer outdoor seating which is always nice with our wonderful Florida weather.

We decided to eat here after some shopping in Port Orange - we definitely stumbled on a fantastic place to eat - the food was very tasty - cooked perfectly! Staff super friendly! Atmosphere is good for anyone dining here. Great hidden gem in the shops there!

New Orleans Mahi with a house salad as a side substitute. The shrimp were big and succulent, the Mahi was cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for. The salad was nice. It was fresh and crisp. I would like to encourage people to leave a review and if able, acnowladge your servers as well. These smaller restraunts aren't advertised, but this one should be! Excellent service from all staff!! Chef's were top notch!

This place is great. The food is consistently delicious. I get the summer salad almost every time. It’s delish. The staff is really friendly. I also like that it is cozy and the noise level is at a good level where you can easily hear your dining companions.

Always a pleasant experience dining at San Diego Grill. We went with friends this evening for their special Thanksgiving dinner. The food was delicious, the service was great and everybody full and happy when we left.

While in Port Orange we searched for a restaurant near us. SDG had excellent reviews so we thought we would try it. The food was excellent, service was great and a very nice atmosphere. Very very satisfied with our choice. Oh, great onion rings!

After standing in the lobby for 16 minutes and 4 people that were employees walked by. Nobody said hello, hold on or anything. There was seats open outside and inside and nobody ever greeted me. So I left after coming here for the last few years.

My husband and I celebrated our aniversary with a delicious meal. Our server, Danela, was so sweet and attentive. She made our evening very special ❤️

We have been going to San Diego grill for a long time, normally food is very good. Tonight the dinner was good but our server.. Well let's just say, slower than - well, can't use the word I want. In a restaurant not very busy, it took almost 10 minutes to even see our server. Almost as long to get drinks. He told us that he would be right back, I'm glad we didn't hold our breath. Never got refills or even asked for anything we needed. After dinner, we sat there for a long time and finally had to ask the manager for our bill. Heck, the managers asked us several times how things were and not once from our server. We won't be asking for Dillon again. His tip showed our disappointment and even wrote out the reason for him

Food really good, fresh made. Service very good. Atmosphere nice if weather is nice enough to sit on patio. Inside a little cramped.

Hadn't been here before and didn't know it was even back there. We usually go to Malibu Beach Grill, but we were looking for a fish sandwich and had read reviews that this place had the best one. I'm not sure I agree with that, but we were there just before closing, and it was the special, so perhaps they were running low. However, the service was excellent. Our server, Jenny, was very friendly and accommodating. She went above and beyond. I'd be willing to give the restaurant another shot based on the service alone.

We ate and had a party of 7. Our server was the best...she was knowledgeable, timely, efficient, courteous, respectful and friendly. The food was very good and portions were large. Most of us had leftovers.

I’m a food currier and when I went in the restaurant to pick up a delivery for the first time ever I had no idea where food pick up was. When I went to the bar to ask the male bartender, who was awesome, but l saw him covering a full bar, answer the phone plus take online orders deliver food that was not at the bar. When I asked a younger girl very skinny brownish reddish hair with pale skin if she could help me since he was busy and by himself she said that’s not my job category I have other things to do and proceeded to go into the kitchen and stand by the door of the kitchen and be on her phone and would occasionally walk from the front of the restaurant to the back to the kitchen several different times completely ignoring me when I asked her for help a second time after being there for over 15 minutes by that time I tried flagging down a manager who had a broken wrist or what look like a manager possibly a host and asked if someone could help me since the bartender looked to be extremely busy and wasn’t able to help me she said oh the bartender will be right with you he’s in charge of all my orders and I was like well because he is so busy delivering other peoples food not on the bar would it be possible to check on my delivery for my customer when she looked around to see that the young girl was just standing in the doorway on her phone she called her over and the little girl said oh yeah I was already working on it a blatant lie and she said the bartender had already told her she he would take care of it The poor mail bartender came back with my order and apologized that it took so long and I was like well if you had help it would’ve taken so long so I do apologize that you have this kind of customer service with your other coworkers I felt so bad for him but he looks to be like an awesome worker and the other two do not seem to care much about their position or their job or being a team player

I came to the Pavillion from Palm Coast to do some shopping and ran into this wonderful restaurant. I wish who ever owns this great estallishment would open one in Palm Coast, they desparately need shopping and restaurants. Being someone who managed restaurants in NY , know's that there Chef is amazing. Everyone go you wont be disappointed. The Front house Manager was terriffic as well. Still a great dining experience with reasonable prices. Try the Full Course Special. Salad, entree, side and desset. Wow, forgot how good their food is. Salmon was a filet on a bed of mashed. Wife had the Prime Rib special. Rare like it should be. Chips and queso appetizer had plenty of both and very good. And reasonable priced. Treated us great. You should go.

Weve been to this place a few times and are still blown away by the level of service. Seems like everyone that works there really does give a dam about the customers and strives to make their experience pleasant. Oh, the food is really good too!!

Haven't been here in a few years. Stopped in with my sister for a late lunch. We watched customers come in and sit themselves. There was no host. The waiter criticized the customer for doing so. He was rude. The customers got up and left. There were more staff than customers, but still they didn't use a host/hostess. My crispy chicken salad was good, hand breaded chicken. Our server was attentive.

Good food but spicy for some people. 1 dish per person for sure. We came, ate and left in about 45 minutes. For a mid way trip stop, it is a great point. Tesla charger available and in walking distance. Plan to arrive at 20 or less. You leave at 100.

Chris and his staff are A material! Always friendly and always willing to go out of their way to make sure you are happy.

After waiting 40 min for food we were told chefs went on break would be longer. After being ignored at our table. Our daughter got her soup and then they clearly forgot about us. Soup was average at best. Would not got back. Best thing they did was not charge for the soup when we left and went to another restaurant.

We absolutely love this restaurant! The food is amazing and the staff is attentive and accommodating! I have a gluten allergy and they go out of their way to make sure I’m taken care of. The service here is ALWAYS and continues to be wonderful!

I have given this place a few different tries and I have just never been happy with it. I’ve even gone in and sat down and that was not any better. The drinks were not tasty. The food is OK. We have had them deliver to us in the pavilion before and the person that they sent was so incredibly rude. I have not ordered since. I would not recommend.
