This was our 2nd time at heidies.im german also.food great.but what was dissapointing I had birthday august 20th and we had dinner at heidies.they congratulated me w a candle on the cake but charged me for the plum cake.we are eating at hu dress of restaurants and no restaurant ever charged me on my birthday for the dessert I could choose from the card..that's sad. Just ate here tonight. In town from the Tampa area. Hubby loved his Schweinshaxe and it was the largest I have ever seen! Beef Stroganoff was excellent; large portions, great staff, wonderful owner. Music was fun and the atmosphere was enjoyable.....you felt like you were in a friend's home rather than a restaurant. This is worth the trip from Tampa, and will definitely go back and bring friends!

A great German food experience! Heidi, the owner, is a LOT of fun! She also seems to have a lot of business savvy and cooking skill to keep this place busy, running smoothly, and delicious! We came by recommendation of my dad and his friends. The potato pancakes were everything we expected, and my dad said they reminded him of home. Yes... he's from Germany. ;-) I ordered the Zigeuner Schnitzel, which had wonderfully flavorful peppers, and the Spaetzele, which went well. Overall, a fun place with lots (!!!) of German (and Deutscher) Schtick.

Food absolutely delicious- how good food should be! Super friendly and attentive staff. I had Beer cheese pretzel. Beef Gulasch w/ spatzle, delicate and flavorful Cucumber salad was refreshing Black Forest Cake Schofferhofer grapefruit beer. The desserts are phenomenal!

One of the best overall restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Not only is the food amazing and authentic, but the staff is as well. Heidi made our night special as it was our anniversary. A truly passionate and fun loving owner. I was pleasantly surprised not just by the food but by such a great atmosphere and a fun and joyful restaurant. I highly recommend it. I will be sure to stop by the next time I’m in town.

Fantastic food just like my mom used to make with a genuine German atmosphere....so glad we found this hidden gem. Will must definitely go back on our next trip to Siesta Key!!!!

Staff stayed a little longer than usual as we were late arrival. Chef split the dishes into two plates without asking and full of flavor and enough to just leave room for desert. Definitely made to order, but pricing a little higher than expected. It was difficult for me to walk. There were easy seating options close to the door.

Weiner schnitzel was good. Pork belly a bit dry.

All around a great place very good food and music great for a social crowd of people.

Everything was way better than I had hoped for... It's been a while since we've had access to a decent German restaurant... Heidi's did not disappoint... Her duck was amazing! Speatzle on point... Red cabbage so yummy... Everything fantastic.

The food was mediocre at best. I was craving a really good wiener schnitzel and what I got was a deep fried chewy piece of veal where the breading that filled almost the whole plate falls off as soon as you cut into it to reveal a small thin piece of veal that wasn't tender and was very chewy! And to top off the bad experience the waitress basically scammed me: on the menu it says that you can order a sparkling water for $3. So I ordered a sparkling water. When I said I will have a sparkling water the waitress asked "is a Perrier okay?" Well a Perrier is a sparkling water and even though I prefer Pellegrino I said "okay". So she brought me a 16 oz plastic bottle of Perrier. When the bill came there was a charge for a large sparking water was $7 ?!?! So I told her it's probably a mistake, she must have thought she brought me the 1 liter large bottle of Perrier but she said no, it's not a mistake, it is a LARGE!?! And when I pointed out that on the menu it says a sparkling water is $3, she said "that's for the sparkling water, not the Perrier"?!?! but I did order a sparkling water the way it says on the menu.... RIDICULOUS!!! And unacceptable to run a business like that! I will certainly not be back to that restaurant!

My husband and I really enjoyed eating here. We went just last night. I have only ever eaten at maybe 3 German restaurants, but it felt relatively authentic. Loved how intimate the restaurant is, but it felt like home in that you can actually have a convo with your dinner guests. I can't remember the name of what I ordered, it was pretty good though. I really liked the side of German noodles. I could eat a whole bowl of those. We didn't order desert. I got the dark German beer on draft, it was great.

The Schaumtorte is excellent! All the meals are great. Heidi is the best hostess with the mostes!

Closest experience you will have without actually going to Germany. Ambience and food are perfectly authentic. Food was so good I forgot to photograph it before the plate was empty. Wonderful chocolate mousse and Gluheine also. Highly highly recommend!

Excellent food an great atmosphere

Wonderful authentic German restaurant. Heidi runs the place and makes sure the food (and beer) is 100% authentic. Great humor and personal atmosphere. I had the Sauerbraten with Spätzle and it was awesome. Everyone in our party was happy with their food. Great gluten free options as well, which is not a given in the German cuisine. Five stars and I look forward to our next visit to Sarasota.

It's an incredible place! Love the intricate details invested in this place. Love the cucco clocks and general atmosphere. The presentation of the food is lovely. Highly recommend to go. Especially if you want to escape from your typical world.

We've been going to Schnitzel Kitchen for years. Everything is good, fresh, authentic & homemade! Everyone is welcoming & treats us like friends. I'm vegetarian and the Schnitzel is my favorite restaurant meal! My husband & our friends are never disappointed with the meat dishes either! Thanks, Heidi, for such a great place!

Sauerbraten. Sauerbraten. Sauerbraten. It melts apart with the slight touch of a fork. The red cabbage is what dreams are made of. Heidi is a hoot! Bonus, you are transported to a German family home with live music on Friday and Saturday.

Authentic is the best word to describe Schnitzel Kitchen ! The owner Heidi's laugh fills the room along with smells of incredible genuine German cuisine. Great beer selection and just a great overall experience! We will be back.

Such a fun place with GREAT food. Go for the delicious Schnitzel. Go for the quirky, fun decor. And definitely go to meet owner/chef, Ms. Heidi. She welcomes EVERY guest as a good friend and her vivacious personality makes you feel right at home. Live music nights are the cherry on top of all this! Soooo good.

My schweinehaxe was excellent. My wife’s Wiener Schnitzel, she said, was too heavily breaded but otherwise ok. Service staff are always good. Entertainer this time not as involved or as good as the one we experienced last time we were there. A smaller, fun place to enjoy German food.

Went last eve with another couple. We both had Groupon`s for money off 2 entrees. We purchased 4 entrees. When we paid, our Groupon not accepted. The owner said only one per table. It wasn't written in small print as she stated. She became rude and then said it was her policy. Food was ok...meals were pricey for what we had... we won't be back. This happened to the table next to us also.

We had the worst experience last night at the Schnitzel Kitchen, The food is not to be recommended - After talking to the waitress. I was told that they have a new chef. That explained it all. We came there for many years when Heidi was the chef and ;owner and her food and atmosphere were wonderful. The check came to over $100.00 and I could not eat anything. They have no clue what German food is all about and canned gravy must be a regular. Worst food in Sarasota!

I suggested this restaurant to my friends while we're all in Florida based on a local guide review. Excellent choice! The servers were very friendly, explaining items on the menu, answering questions and made recommendations. Our food was served quickly, hot and cooked perfectly. We all ordered different items and tasted each of the dishes. Schnitzel Kitchen is a small place with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. To ensure you get to taste authentic German deliciousness call ahead for reservations. Highly recommend this restaurant and will return when in the area again. You will not be disappointed.

What a fun evening!! My family wanted to enjoy a good German meal to honor my late father, Henry. Heidi and all of her staff made the celebration a joyful one, and fed us amazing food… one of the only places we could find rouladen on the menu! We all want to go back to work through the food and beer menus… everything was delicious! A true German experience!!

This wunderschön little restaurant left us speechless and looking forward to our next visit. We met out of town friends for dinner and the food and service were simply outstanding. We had the potato pancakes, pretzel/beer cheese and kinder sausages for starters. My wife said the pancakes were the best she’s ever eaten. The sausage came with a mustard that was a perfect accompaniment. Entrees ordered were the Weiner Schnitzel, Schnitzel von Schwein, Rouladen and Goulash. Sides included Spätzle, Potato Dumpling, Red Cabbage and Cucumber Salad. All were exquisitely tasteful. For desert we had the ApfelStrudel and the Windpuff…a simple OMG suffices. Chef Heidi and her wunderbar staff performed perfectly. Visit them and be transported back to Deutschland and know it doesn’t get more authentic in SW Florida. Danke schön…Prost!

I dined there with my wife and daughter on Jan 5th 2023. Because we were not going home straight from the restaurant, we ordered 2 meals so we wouldn't have leftovers. Well, I was charged $7 for an "extra plate" (i.e. "nothing"), charged $3 to add a touch of cheese to our spaetzle (standard in Germany), and on and on. We were not told of all these extra charges. The food was good but the bill was death by 1000 cuts. It was a shame that I left a nice place with a bad taste in my mouth.

Just an amazing experience with great and tasty authentic German cuisine. Interior design is pretty awesome to say the least. The restaurant Heidi is a wonderful host, and full of positive energy! We truly enjoyed a well prepared dinner with a cold “boot” of ale. We finished our feast with an Apple strudel, and plumb cake (my new favorite desert now 😉). Schnitzel Kitchen is the closest to an authentic German that I have found in Florida. The menu offers a large selection and everything is very good. I had Schweine Haxe (enough to Share) and my wife had pork schnitzel. Portions are large and we took enough home for another meal. Staff is very efficient and friendly. Good selection of German beer. Decor and atmosphere is pretty authentic German. My favorite German restaurant and I would recommend it.

So much fun with the music entertainment. It has been a few years since I’ve been to Munich. This place takes you right back.

Would come back again except the head server was not nice. I overheard her say she needed to get rid of me because they were about to get busy. No way to treat a paying customer. The other server tried to make up for it but you can't unhear.

Excellent schnitzel and spaetzle. Pretzel with beer cheese app and bratwurst app with a nice mustard sauce were also both delicious. Excellent service. Rustic atmosphere. 10/10, would dine again.

My group of friends and I throughly enjoyed ourselves at the Schnitzel Kitchen last weekend. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed warmly, the atmosphere was comforting and fun, great music and the food was delicious! Our waiter was very helpful and attentive, and Heidi the owner was so delightful and sweet! If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and visit Schnitzel Kitchen, be willing to stay awhile, it’s an experience you won’t regret.

Hallo!! We had an absolute blast here. The ladies were hilarious, and they made feel as if we actually belonged. The schnitzel was amazing, the bratwurst was next to godliness, and oh man; the Black Forest cake was the stairway to the clouds! If you're in town, you have to stop in for a bite. You will NOT be disappointed!!

I love this place this is AUTHENTIC GERMAN FOOD. Great people great staff. The owner's name is Heidi she's very friendly, they have great staff also with my personal favorite being Petra. The service here is great. Live German music with crowd interaction, it's a real fun place to eat great food.

Very friendly staff and decent German atmosphere, but the food is not very good and really overpriced. Beware - the prices on the menu do not match the price on the bill. I will not be coming back here again. We had just some classic German dishes and were disappointed with all of them - the only good part was the bottled German beer. When we were seated the Waitress said she would warm up the bread which I was all excited about but what came out was a single slice of rye toast, toasted well done into a crouton! Not what I expected in any restaurant, especially German!. Potato dumpling was bizarre, light but no potato flavor or much other flavor either. The red cabbage was so horribly sweet I couldn't eat it - just sugar. The Wiener schnitzel was NOT hand breaded and pan fried as stated in the menu but deep fried frozen cutlet with as much breading as veal. The jaeger sauce was okay but nothing special. This was listed as $27.95 on the menu but we were charged $28.75 - waitress never said anything about prices being higher. The dessert and chicken was also higher. The chicken paprika was made with small pieces of overcooked chicken breast in a light sauce and Spätzle. Not bad but I've had real chicken Paprikasch in Hungarian restaurants and this is not it, and at $22.75 (menu was lower price), way too expensive for a few small pieces of dry chicken. The strudel was just plain awful. It had no flavor and as bland an apple dish I have ever had with dry, tasteless, and mushy pastry for a whopping $11.50. (Menu said $11). The only good part was that the ice cream and whipped cream were good. I suggest you keep looking for another place.

What a delightful and delicious little find! The manager Heidi and the wait staff immediately made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely amazing (I had the braised beef). The live entertainment was engaging but not pushy - just perfect! My wife and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner, complete w homemade chocolate mousse! We will definitely return!

Great atmosphere, the owner and staff are so kind and accommodating. You feel you as if you are eating in their dining room . My daughter probably had the most fun dancing all night. Most importantly, food was excellent, we all ate the schitzel. The sweet cured bacon wrapped brat apps are a must! Can't wait to go back!

For excellent German cuisine, fun atmosphere, a great beer selection, and fantastic service, you should give this place a chance. I'd say it is even worth a bit of extra travel if you're from slightly outside of the area. If you're feeling a little brave, give the schweinhaxe a try with your choice of two sides. I enjoyed it, but am sure it's not for everybody even though it's expertly prepared. The Flensburger Gold was an excellent beer to pair it with.

I wish I could give them 1000000 stars! I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time I was here Heidi is so very sweet and welcoming the music was wonderful and the food was very delicious and authentic! I loved everything about this place and didn’t want to leave!!! We came in on a rainy Friday night for a date and loved every minute… I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
