We really want it to be the same shanners it used to be , thin, crisp crust. Oh it was so good, it was hard not to eat a whole pizza😊 crust now is consistenty soggy.

I don’t live near Shaners, but it came highly recommended in Nokomis Next door . So I happened to get on Clarke road and made a pit stop for take out pizza. We love thin and I heard this is the place. It definitely is. But next time , I’ll eat in . it was Luke warm by the time I got it home. Not their fault . Service was very polite from taking my order to picking up. Was very crowded and my pizza was ready as promised. Got a sausage, pepperoni and 12 medium buffalo wings. My only complaint , not much sauce on them. But were good. Will definitely return but eat in , to experience a piping hot pizza. Yes, could’ve heated up the oven but we were hungry . Didn’t even get pictures.

Went there for lunch on a Saturday! Pizza was outstanding service was excellent. Thin crust pizza was crispy to perfection and great taste. Being from New Jersey it’s hard to find a pizza that compares but this pizza definitely does! Great job all around

Great pizzeria. The ultra thin crust , sauce and toppings are classic. The lobster escargot was delicious. Always enjoy the Shaner chopped salad. The vibe is like a pizza place that I would have gone to in high school, and that is a good thing. There are a lot of good pizza styles, and Shakers is definitely in the mix. Try it, you'll like it!

Been in Sarasota for 3 years and this was our first time here. Best thin crust pizza I have had! Small salad was big enough for my wife and I to share and the Greek Salad did not disappoint. Staff was super friendly after what had obviously been a very busy night. We will definately be back!

This place was a bit of a surprise.. I have lived in Sarasota for 14 years and did not know this place existed. it's right back kitty corner behind a strip mall, and there are a bunch of other restaurants on the other side of the street but I've never been on this side of the street. The pizzas are cut in a really unique way that make it super fun for family experiences and kids.. also, the servers are very down to earth and chill. I would say the wings and pizzas are actually pretty good.. but the generous wings portions and the crisscross applesauce way that they cut the pizza made it for a really fun experience and super easy to share. We will definitely go back here.

We had an awesome lunch at Shaner's. For starters, it's a fun spot with tons of Shane Rawley baseball memorabilia. Service was amazing and super friendly. My wife's pizza was perfect... crispy thin crust, delicious sauce and velvety cheese. I had the Philly Cheese Steak, and it was right on the money. They even include onion rings with no up charge. Prices are super reasonable. Bottom line.. there's just no reason why you're not already on your way to try out Shaner's!

Busy Sunday night…first ever visit. Had to wait a while just to get drink order taken; it was actually wrong when it finally came to our table, but we pressed on. Half of our food order eventually showed up; it was correct. Waited and waited for the other half of our order (started to believe that it had been forgotten), but when it FINALLY came, it was wrong. Returned that part of order & requested removal from our bill. Service here is either overworked…inept…or both. Couple sitting at adjacent table waited quite a while for service, and literally walked out after waiting quite a while for a server. Shane, came down vacationing from WI. Disappointed.

At night, good. Had a lot good meals. The lady that ran place at noon, forgot about us after we ordered. So after 50 mins we asked if she would see where our order was at. She came back and said the cook did not get it, sorry. That was it. We got up left. Been many times with great service at night. Will have to think twice about going there for lunch again.

It was great having a good pizza outside Chicago, what a surprise and the owner Shane is a hoot! Really, ask him to do a magic trick.

Really good thin crust pizza-10/10 The ideal bite… crust is perfectly thin and expertly cooked. Taste-wise was delicious, we ate the whole thing. Great sauce/cheese/topping ratio. The first pizza we’ve had in Sarasota that I can say we thoroughly enjoyed. We’re from Chicago so it’s been hard to find something even close in comparison. Highly, highly recommend. A great pizza experience.

What’s not to love? The food is great from the pizza to sandwiches or dinners they always hit a high note. The people are great and it is just a fun place to be.

ordered 2 par-baked pizzas via phone. when I arrived, the hostess brought out the boxed pizzas and i asked if they were par-baked. hostess said yes. but i checked, and they were FULLY baked. so I had to wait about 15 min for replacements. wasn't even offered a drink while I waited. ugh

Pizza, wings, sports on TV. Oh, and cold beer. We'll be back.

I was looking forward to my favorite Caesar salad, but was disappointed with overdressed soggy letuce with soggy, soft, bland croutons! Not the crispy, lightly dressed romaine with crunchy, flavorful cubes of bread I usually get.

This place cannot be beat for their pizza, price, service, and atmosphere!!! We absolutely love pizza, and have tried more places than we can count! THIS place wins, hands down! Bartender, Pete, is fun, energetic, and on top of what his customers want and need!! All the staff are incredible!!! Jalapeños Poppers are 👌 perfect! Enjoy!!!

My daughter and I went after someone recommended to go there for their chopped salad. Chopped salad was GREAT! We now crave it! Had the best Philly Cheese Sandwich too. My daughter and I talked all night about how good our meal was. And our leftover sandwich warmed up so nicely the next day. Went back for another Chopped Salad and Pizza! Great Pizza! Going to go back again to work our way through the menu! So many things sound so good and must try them all! Meatballs and Wings are next! Staff and Owner are a real pleasure to talk to as well. It is our new favorite spot and sure to be a weekly stop (if not more)!

Being from Chicago, we are pretty particular about pizza. This was a very good, super thin crust pie. The sauce and sausage were excellent. I would recommend ordering more than normal due to how thin it is.

I'm rating this as a local "pizza joint" that happens to have a bar. Food is good, service is good, memorabilia is good. Everything's good. The beer selection isn't great but remember, this is a local "pizza joint" so that's okay. I'll be back!

This was my first visit to Shaner’s—a clean, comfortable, welcoming, unassuming pizza/sandwich shop on the corner of the Gulf-gate area plaza. (I hope the portion of the plaza’s pavement that contained several big potholes gets repaired soon.) Dear Husband and I shared (with leftovers) a large “Shane’s Favorite” thin-crust pizza, and a delicious small (but happily big-enough-for-2 hungry adults) Greek salad. We forgot to ask for the dressing on the side as we usually do, so it came too wet and a bit salty for my taste, but DH enjoyed it as-is. We each enjoyed a deliciously cold beer. I was hesitating about which type to order, as I don’t often drink beer. The waitress whose name might’ve been Lisa, upon noticing my hesitation, said she’d be right back. In a flash, she returned offering me a sample glass of the very Mango beer I was considering! I was so impressed at her thoughtful gesture and, after sampling, ordered it. Part of my judgment of restaurants is how clean the bathrooms and eating areas are. Each of the 2 private unisex restrooms here were immaculate and well-stocked. In addition, amusing and interesting framed sports-related artwork hangs on the walls. The friendly owner briefly visited our table to see how we were enjoying our selections, and chatted a bit as I saw him doing at others’ tables. Later, I noticed him eating what might have been a cheesesteak sub at the clean, attractively decorated bar. We liked Shaner’s very much and look forward to returning.

Best thin crust pizza in SRQ. We always get cheese and pepperoni. Check the crust before you leave. If you don’t like it, talk to Pete and he will make it right. If you have to go, take it home and throw it in the over at 350 for like 2 mins and it is almost like the restaurant. Be sure to ask for a cup of cheese to go.

We had a to go order Saturday night we ordered a medium supreme pizza, 18 wings, shrimp appetizer and a chopped salad. Everything exceeded my expectations it was perfect! I had a very hard day this was the best thing to have happen it made my night spectacular! I want to thank you for being so wonderful and making the order just as we asked. Best experience ever from the answering of the phone to enjoying every bite. Thanks again it was a perfect ending to a hard day.

Even though we ordered pickup I could tell the place would be fun and inviting. The pizza is amazing. It's a thin crust that isn't too crispy that it breaks apart when you buy into it, except the crust. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Pizza was decent, I'm a fan of the cracker thin crust. . The cheese and sauce were a bit salty for me. I didn't get any costumes because I really wanted to see how a plane slice was I can only imagine if they were toppings on it. Also skip the Garlic Knots . They are more like garlic bread. Not great.

We had short wait on a Friday evening but it was worth it. The food was very good. The pizza was outstanding. The service was ok, but they had a full house as well. A great night out.

While the thin crust was unexpectedly thin, the pizza was fantastic, the ambience was superb, the owner has a great love for baseball and good food, and the staff was cheerful and fairly expedient.

Some of the most delicious thin crust pizza I’ve had in a long time. Crust was very tasty and crispy. Cheese was excellent and sauce complimented it all well. Everything came out quickly even though they were busy. Will definitely be back again!
