Lunch on a Friday took about an hour for 2 people. The vegan burger was really good. The fresh squeezed lemonade was tart but good. The place is a vibe. I'd go back.

First time dining here. We had a little wait to order but that gave us time to decide what we wanted. I had the burger salad and Tomato Peachy bisque. My friend had rhe Scratch burger. Everything was amazing. It was pricey but you get what you pay for. fresh food. I definitely will be back. Thoroughly enjoyed. I also had a hot Oak milk Latte. Very yummy.

Atmosphere matches food totally awesome and many fresh choices

I asked a question about the fruit and the woman who took our order said it was what was in season 😍. Everything at this place is fresh and overall so good, i recommend the lavender lemonade. Everything that I have tasted so far is amazing!!!

Had a bowl here. It was pretty tasty with an interesting mix of ingredients. Everything was freshly made. It was a busy little place on a Saturday around lunch time. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Stand in line if you must...there's a reason folks are waiting to taste this! Best food I can remember from a restaurant...every bite was heaven! Must recommend the Lavender Margarita! All are welcome at this peaceful & beautiful establishment, serving all natural, farm grown, local eats. *Update - Scratch has a new location across from Moncus Park! And, it is just as delicious & delightful!

I have eaten here a couple times and it has been fantastic both times.

If I could leave no stars, I would. Not only did we wait for the food for over 40 mins. When they finally brought the food, they were missing my wife's plate. They said it was coming right out. After waiting another 10 mins and all of my family waiting for my wife's plate to come out before we could start eating, we still had nothing. I stood up to ask what was happening, and they said they were working on it and that they had not placed the order. So obviously I was upset and complained in a calm matter. I asked what was going to happen and that I needed that plate done immediately. The owner came and was a total B----. Told me to sit down and that I would get the food whenever it was ready. That if I wanted to leave a bad review or whatever I could do that. That set me off and I immediately asked for my money back and got up to leave after waisting an hour. DO NOT COME HERE THEY NOW NOTHING OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! The owner is a total joke and should have nothing to do owning a business. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as the way this was handled was totally unprofessional and truly a joke. AVOID THIS PLACE.

The food was delicious. The staff members were very patient as I asked many questions about the vegan options. I left with a full stomach and a second meal for dinner. I will be back.

Their veggie burger was delicious with lavender lemonade and a side of pickled beets. I love how they’re thoughtful when it comes to sourcing ingredients that creates food that is flavorful, fresh, and overall amazing.

Sat at Bar, had no idea about the order before seating concept. It took a while for someone to address me. Food was good..maybe a tad overprice. $25 dollar lunch is a bit much for me.

Impressive menu with a lot of different options. Really enjoyed the attention to details and the unique flavor combinations. Went on a weekend (Saturday) it got pretty busy around 10, with a line to order out the door (not sure if this was because of the music festival or if this is their regular busy). Everything is cooked to order, so it might take a little while but it’s also refreshing to know everything is cooked fresh. They are very knowledgeable about what is in season and even down to their salad dressings reflect how farm to table the establishment is. I felt the portion sized were reasonable. Prices are as expected for a game to table venue. Staff were very friendly and attentive. They have to go or dine in options but we were not able to order over the phone, so ended up dining in.

Amazing veggie burger. The pickled beets were very delicious. The lavender lemonade was super refreshing. My soul enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere!

Food was what brought us here, the pics looked amazing and we weren’t let down. Had the bowl with Boudin protein, and my friend had the burger. The bowl had a lot of different flavors meshing together, each bite was a please surprise, at one point t I had picked carrot and then at another is was savory Lima beans. I’m definitely coming back. I washed it all down with the lime aid juice which was on fire!

I’ve visited this place a few times and I had pleasant experiences. The lady who takes the orders is rude. You ask her a simple question and she points to the menu. Every time I enter she is rude, doesn’t answer your questions, and act like you know about their food. I also noticed she interacts differently with people of color. Recently I visited this location and ordered a vegan burger. I only ask her if they use different vegetables because last time the only vegetable in the burger was potato and a few beans. That’s all I said to her. So I visited a week ago ordered the same. I got home the whole burger was black and smelled burned. I took it back and she was offended that I brought it back. Keep in mind I called the same day to communicate it was burned. So she takes my burned burger to the back. A guy comes to the counter to assist me. I tell him about the burned burger. He said yeah they have been burning buns a lot. After almost 10 minutes she comes to the front with a nasty attitude and says you have been complaining. She hadn’t apologized for the burned burger, offered me anything, or for the extended wait. Keep in mind I have never ever complained. I only ask if they can add different vegetables. She gave me another burger but had me pay for the beans. I was like wow! Offered me nothing extra. This establishment is horrible, overpriced, and discriminates against people of color. If you pay 14.00 for a burger I expect it to not be burned and to include multiple vegetables instead of potatoes and beans only. I’m done with Scratch.

Everything here is prepared with the freshest ingredients. If it’s not available locally you won’t find it on the menu. The staff is exceptional and obviously dedicated to bringing the best possible experience to the customer.

What a great find in Lafayette! I'm literally writing this review while still sitting in the the restaurant because I was so impressed. I've been roadtripping across the country, trying restaurants along the way, and wouldn't have expected one of the best to be in a strip mall. I had the Boudini (such a great layering of flavors, although I did want more of kimchi just because it was so good–almost wanted to ask if they sold it go) with a side of Deviled Duck Eggs (the single blueberry was such a nice touch–again, the layering of flavors was impressive). However, looking at what everyone else around me ordered, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. The atmosphere was great: the music was on point, the stained glass was beautiful, and the coffee mugs are basically little art pieces. The service was outstanding: I've been a waitress for years and it was clear that they run a tight ship around here. I love that all of the ingredients are local and the prices are reasonable for what you get. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

came to leave my own review after a couple experiences and found I’m essentially repeating others. food and drinks are excellent. the lady that takes the orders seems displeased to do so; the first time I assumed she was having a less than desirable day. then it was like that again. the menu set up can make a new person feel uncomfortable especially if there’s a line. like i said, the food and drinks are great, and the place seems like it has a lot of potential, but the attitude takes away from the experience.

Food and service is terrific. This is my favorite lunch spot!

Real talk- I was excited to check out their new location and place an order to go. As we walked up I was looking for their hours listed to ensure they were open but didn't see them. We walk in and they saw us but didn't greet us. We then stand there checking out the menu, (mind you they see us checking out their menu) for a minute and then we finally get approached by a chick who was evidently more interested in the glass of wine she was sipping then anything else, who tells us point blank- "so we close at 2." It was 10 after, however fine. We ordered drinks from the cooler, she ringed us out, she said thanks as she returned to her glass. That was our first experience at their new location. Much more lame then expected. We'll give them another go and hopefully update this review in a positive way.

Get the hash bowl with mushrooms. So unique and delicious. One of my top 10 meals!

The food was fresh but just a little fussy. It was difficult to get a start on the burrito. The hash had an excellent mixture of veggies. I liked the jalapenos but not really enough potatoes to call it hash and the overcooked hamburger patty was off putting. Don't overlook the sauces even if they are served on the side. They may be the best thing on the plate. The room is noisy and ordering can be slow. Be patient for food delivery to the table. Everything is made to prefer and complex.

On Monday, we had our lunch date at the new location. It was my first time at the new location and her first time ever. I had the deluxe burger, always enjoy the heck out of it. She had the chicken salad wrap, and absolutely loved it. Thank you scratch for always Being consistent and providing Good food

SFK is one of my favorite places in Lafayette; love the new location and am excited for them to be open for supper. Upgrade to the duck egg, if you can.

We were so excited to try the new location since we loved this restaurant. I understand glitches in service at times however today was unbelievably bad. When we notified the server and then the hostess that apparently our ticket had gotten lost (we were at 45 minutes for a Scratch breakfast and a burger), we were then informed that our ticket couldn't be done for another 20 minutes since 4 tickets were in front of us. After watching the entire restaurant turn over and the next 4 patrons be served with burgers while we still had not been served, my husband and I left without our food. He was so frustrated at this point (1.5 hours) there was no way that we could wait any further. I get that things happen, but they missed the opportunity to get things smoothed over. The complimentary hash browns were great, but after $9.00 for a beer and still no food ona $65 ticket, while watching the amazing dishes we had ordered be served to at least 6-7 tables, we were done.

Today my classmates and I visit the Scratch Farm Kitchen. The food was beyond my expectations. We all enjoyed our food. The veggie burger and lima beans were flavorful and tasty. I don't mind the pricing as it cost to eat healthy. I would prefer to pay for healthy noninflammatory foods as opposed to the food served in fast food. Our waitress was super nice and checked on our table regularly. I will be back and look forward to trying other options on the menu.

I think I'll start with the coffee which is from a local roaster It's fresh It's amazing. Drink it out of a hand thrown mug instead of throw away plastic. Lots of great beat dishes at this establishment. Particularly like the flavoring of the beet ketchup. Amazing flavor in the Cajun dishes the boudin was particularly well balanced in terms of its savory flavor profile. The sauteed mushrooms are amazing. They were using porcini mushrooms when I was there. Again flavored with a really good Cajun Creole. Tastes delicious. I could go on but I don't want to give too many spoilers. Try it for yourself.

I just can't express how much I love this place! The food is so delicious, it's fresh make you feel good food. The staff is super friendly and I love the new location. The atmosphere and location are perfect! Veggie burger is a must try and of course the comfort bowls, lavender lemonade and hibiscus tea, all delicious! Some people might say it's a little pricey but I think it's totally worth it to eat delicious food for you food!

Atmosphere enhanced by the colorful and copious artwork; but food was heavy on indeterminate spicing and not showcasing the freshness that goes along with farm- to- table; otherwise good menu choices with vegan and vegetarian options. That said- asking to have a meat protein on a different plate from the vegetarian dish was too big of an ask- Waffle House does a better job. Grits were runny and not worth the effort to spoon them...nice micro greens but the amount was actually micro! the worst thing about this eatery was service. They do not accept reservations but have no reservation about making you vacate a table for someone calling from across town, arriving a half hour after you, when you’d have been done eating your mostly vegetarian meal. Which mostly wasn’t eaten because : When asked to replace an egg that had been snuggling the meat protein , eggs left and came back on a separate plate. Same eggs. Cold eggs. When asked to replace them , eggs left the building and were not replaced. Server says sign states no dishes replaced. It was eggs we wanted replaced not dishes, and anyway, said sign was not in sight anywhere. No manager, no chef, no one comes to check if they can make it right. Do not tip when paying before you get your meal. Waste of hard -earned money. By the way we had to vacate a table to get a table the same size but right next to the line to order and we’re it not for a kind soul offering to move, we’d have had to go outside. As it was we ended up pushing two tables together, and there was an empty one by them. Enough for the party coming later. What an unnecessary hassle.

The vegan and veggie burger were not it. Nothing to write home about and certainly something you aren't ready to sink your teeth in for another bite, definitely trash can worthy effective after first bite. Moving on to the hash potatoes, I looked past the $5 price and gave it a try. Bad choice, the potatoes lack flavor and seasoning of any kind. The amount you get for $5 is also not worth it. You can buy a sack of potatoes, which costs less and make them better at home. Solely based on the purchased items, I will never ever go back. Disappointment on a plate is all that was received.

Wow, Scratch's new location is lovely! The burger and the salad were to die for. They have fun mismatched coffee mugs, and even oatmilk creamer. Can't wait to go back.

Don't sleep on this place! If you're in Lafayette, passing through or local, check Scratch Farm Kitchen out. Ate here with my wife and kids on the way to FL. Such a relief to not eat the same Ole greasy road food. I had the Pulled Pork Lunch Burrito with veggie hash, (sauce that came with it was bomb! 💣) wife got the Chicken Salad Wrap (with an herby vinaigrette, tasty) Lids split the Classic Burger, which they promptly gobbled. Sides were Pasta Salad, Yellow Curry w Potatoes & Carrots (the best bite, for sure) and fruit. All super thoughtful dishes. Walked away full and happy with a healthy lunch. Lavender Lemonade was a hit with the kids, and the Coffee from local roaster Orange Island Coffee was really great. 10/10 yall. Coming back when I'm through town.

Love this place. The grits with tofu is my favorite. The curry is great and the burger is OK if you getvthe ketchup on the side. Cannot wait for the fall to take my dog on the patio and eat.

always super delicious and creative food. it tastes good and you can feel good about what you’re putting into your body knowing it’s all made from “scratch.” today i got the boudini i highly recommend with a side of fruit which was cherries strawberries and peaches! i love that they change things up each time i go. the lavender lemonade is also a must have, especially on a hot day like today. do yourself a favor and go to scratch.

I've been here twice, two years apart, and both times the food was phenomenal!

It's rare to find a trully amazing restaurantant these days but this one checks all the boxes! Amazing locally sourced food, vegan options (important for those of us lactose intolerant), healthy non alcoholic drinks, super helpful and impressive service, plus a fun inclusive vibe! Good music, local art, and even free seeds too!

Best food we’ve had in Lafayette. The flavor combinations are on point! Consistently good the few times we’ve been here. I would highly recommend checking this place out at least once. This photo is of The Scratch. Absolutely delicious. The Elote side was meh, but their sweet potato mash is pretty good.

Best breakfast food I've had in any country! Inventive flavor pairings, fresh local ingredients, balanced flavor profiles, beautiful plating. Sat well in stomach and was a hearty portion size that held me through the day. Shrimp and homemade grits were phenomenal! Boudini is now one of my favorite dishes. Lavender lemonade was refreshing. We sat outside next to the cute flowers and everyone else eating around us seemed happy.

Yum, yum, yum! Every time we pass through Lafayette we stop at Scratch. I refer to the place as having hippie dippie food, but with meat options. Lots of veggie options, straightforward seasoning (but interesting), and no traditional fried food often found in the South. They are an efficient operation, taking orders and payment at the counter. You find a seat and then a server brings your food. I really can't recommend a better meal!

Friday lunch; place was relatively busy but line was only a few deep and we were able to get a table easily. Ordered our food at 1:13, two burgers and a bowl. The food was ok, nothing special, and my wife's food clearly was rushed together. It took 43 minutes to get the food, not really sure how in that time, they were unable to cook potatoes. We ended up having to get the food to go, since it was a weekday lunch and we had other things to do, finally walked out at 1:57. No refund offered, not even a thought to say sorry. Instead we were told, "this must be your first time, we're not fast food." Yeah, we didn't expect fast food but we also don't have nearly an hour to wait for a burger that we ordered at a counter in your quick-serve establishment. For a place that touts inclusivity, it was disappointing to be shamed for merely speaking up and inquiring where our food may be after such a long wait. Really put a damper on the day for us; especially when the restaurant could have reframed our perspective with a simple apology or acknowledgement of our experience.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I had the pork deluxe burger and my wife had the chicken salad wrap. Incredibly fresh and “clean” tasting. We love the fact that they source as many ingredients as possible from local producers! They also brought out a bowl of fresh fruit for our daughter on the house. Arrived at 12 noon. Small line, a short wait to order. Left check out at 12:18pm. Sat in the courtyard, clean and very comfortable. Food arrived at 12:30 ( Wow, the fasted food prep I have experienced in a very long time). Every thing was fresh with an explosion of flavors! Extremely enjoyable lunch, I highly recommend this restaurant.

I didn't rate the food as I only had coffee but the staff were pleasant af and the environment was pretty chill but festive.

My girlfriend is vegetarian so we wanted to try this place out.I got the burger deluxe and she got the veggie burger. My burger was delicious and had a lot of flavor. The burger was a bit sweet but also had a spicy flavor. The place looks great and the staff were friendly. I would definitely come again!

Exceptionally good food. We got the scratch plate, which was perfectly balanced with flavor, and the ingredients were clearly of high quality. I don’t think I’ve ever had a biscuit so good! I would have liked to see friendlier employees. Nobody smiled. Some people avoided eye contact. It looked like it was at about half capacity, with no line, so I can’t see any excuse for not being friendly. I tried calling several times before going, and nobody picked up. I finally used a somewhat local number (504 area code), and they picked up on the first try. I then learned by phone that they don’t do takeout on Saturdays. It would be beneficial to include that in the voicemail that I had heard multiple times, or to mention it in the free Google My Business page. I would also suggest updating the online menu so that people can see prices ($15.26 for a scratch plate without any add-ons or drinks). Lastly, a team meeting and book club to improve customer service would be greatly appreciated. I would go back again for the food. I’ll just make sure I have adjusted my expectations for hospitality in Lafayette.

One of my favorite little hole in the wall restaurants in Lafayette! It feels like having an home cooked meal in your jammies. Everything tastes so fresh and made with love, the vibes are great, and there is a good variety of food. I really appreciate all the vegetarian options, which can be tough to find around these parts!

This place is sooo good! We initially went to Another Broken Egg because it was close to my appt but they had a 40 min wait. So we Googled other places and this place popped up! This place is so quaint, has tons of character, food is delicious, and staff makes you feel comfortable! We order coffee, margarita, mimosa, boudin burrito, chicken breakfast burrito, potatoes, grits, and grit bowl! Everything was absolutely delicious! And they make their own hot sauce (which is crazy spicy but GOOD) and it changes with what’s in season. We will definitely go back!

This place has beet bloody Marys that are phenomenal! The comfort bowl has the creamiest Lima beans and the flavor is amazing. The service is great and the ambiance is comfortable. The bathroom is very very clean!

Scratch Farm Kitchen of Lafayette sources out fresh prducts for their dishes from local farms. The wait time is medium to high. They do offer outdoor seating. After waiting 40 mins for food I went to ask for it to go, but the food was coming out and delivered to our table. The food is handsdown the best food I've had eating out. The taste are clean and fresh and their beef soup is 100 percent premium top shelf #1 at any eatery I've visited. The kitchen staff cook in an open space and well. Chef, Anthony should have a a Phd in cooking. Food is naturaly flavored. Would recommend for the food with or without the atmosphere or wait times.

I really wanted to love this place. I love the locally sourced food. It takes a very long time to get food. Which typically is understandable since it’s farm to table. Except today I noticed they completely forgot to make my order and everyone at my table received their food (my boyfriend and I on the same ticket received his food 20 minutes before me) while I was just sitting there. And probably wouldn’t have gotten my food if I didn’t mention it. Then when I received it most of the stuff wasn’t cooked enough because they rushed it. And didn’t apologize for the mess up. Just pretended it didn’t happen. Secondly, there was a guy who clearly had developmental issues who ordered food, and decided to sit and wait. While he was waiting he made conversation with us and was very nice. The lady at the front asked him to stop talking to customers because he was bothering them. This made me very sad to see considering another guy who works there was very nice to him and was familiar with the guy. I hope my experience was a 1 time thing. But I had high expectations and was very disappointed.

Everything was delicious! The curry bowl was yummy and flavorful. The cookies and cake were delightful. Wonderful cozy ambiance with friendly staff and a menu focused on locally gown foods.

This is by far the best place we ate at during our trip in the US. Extremely original, fresh, tasteful and with a great work on the flavors, we had a great time there! We are vegan and they had 2 options. We took the same meal and they also had two options for vegan proteins! Each was so so good!! You just have to ask for the vegan options! Absolutely loved it and will be back as soon as we can!!!

Never got a chance to try their food, but I’m not sure if I will now. I called to ask about a brunch accommodation and it isn’t the fact that they were not able to accommodate(that is understandable) it was the rude customer service I received. The lady who answered was very dry, and verbally flat, and her tone seemed unpleasant-as if I was bothering her, and definitely not sincere or sorry about not being able to accommodate my party of 7 girls. So unfortunate, because I would have loved to try this establishment, even if it wasn’t with a large party, but to purely support local. I hope this was a one time bad encounter.
