It's your basic hole in the wall setting on the inside. It's clean. Service is very friendly. Food is amazing. I don't live in Decatur but I have no problem driving there to eat from time to time. The chicken and dressing and brisket is our fav.

I eat at Scruggs BBQ. almost every other Sunday. This is my go to place! It will not disappoint, I promise you. This is the best food hands down in the state! The pork chops, fried chicken, brisket, pulled pork, and OMG THE MEATLOAF! Okra, baked beans and you have to try the Mac N Cheese. Don't forget to try a slice of caramel cake! They have my business for life!

A nice lil family owned spot ! Had the brisket dinner with turnip greens, mac & cheese 😋 they didn't have the strawberry cake but the caramel cake was mighty delicious 😋 . The sweet tea wasn't so great though. I think the dispenser needed to be throughly washed out .

The best! We love to call ahead to get the brisket for holidays! It's what everyone from the youngest to the oldest will devour!

My first visit did not disappoint. Quickly served with hot, fresh food, and portions much larger than my expectations. The entire restaurant turned their heads towards our table whenever our food arrived. Can’t wait to revisit!

Haven't been in years, in the interim have talked this place up as truly great BBQ joint. But my recent visit musta hit at a bad moment for them. Got there just as they opened, ordered a brisket plate and honest to God, the best thing about the meal was the fries. Brisket was thin, hard and dried out, pretty clearly the stuff left over from the day before. Coleslaw looked old, had that brownish tint of old coleslaw and one small bite confirmed my suspicion. Fries were a generous serving and made up the vast majority of my meal. Even the cola was disappointing, so much ice in a very large cup I couldn't get a straw to go down to the bottom to get to the couple ounces of soda not crowded out by the ice. Really, really disappointing trip over to Decatur. $20+ for basically fries and a few swallows of soda.

There is no better brisket anywhere!

We are from Chattanooga, TN. We were on our way home from going to Cleveland, MS for a family members funeral. On our way back to Chattanooga from Cleveland, we decided to have some lunch and stopped at Scruggs BQQ. All I gotta say is WOW! The food was delicious & so mouth watering! We each tried something different. Mom got the chicken and dressing, I got the pulled pork plate, dad got ribs, and my husband had the smoked chicken! All the plates come with two sides and a bread- roll or cornbread. If we were ever in the area, we would definitely stop by again. Wish it was closer to home!! We HIGHLY recommend stopping at Scruggs any chance you get!!!!!

The loaded potato is the best I've ever had. I will definitely be coming back to Scruggs BBQ.

I ordered and paid for my food. Went to the restroom and the lady behind the counter threw my food in the trash so when I came out the restroom she told me she threw it away and would NOT refund me oh wow. Never shall return there and I spent 60 bucks there trying to support the business and I'm resorting them to the BBB ALSO!

I was encouraged by fellow coworkers to check this place out and try the stuffed potato. It is absolutely delicious and HUGE! Brisket, chicken or pork. I had the chicken as seen in the pics. Very friendly service also! Highly recommended for all to try.

This totally uncalled for!! OUTSTANDING BBQ!! I've passed this place for the past five years and never had the chance to stop, well today was the day!! If you're passing through you have to stop and get a taste of the best BBQ east of the Mississippi. OMG! 10 STATRS OUT OF 5.. DONT MISS THIS PLACE. Loaded baked potatoe and ribs and chicken.

Best bbq I’ve ever had! When there is no need for bbq sauce, you know it’s seasoned well! The sides were fantastic! Their sides aren’t put in “little cups” like all the other bbq places. Honest portions like the old days. The owners are genuine people. Check um out. You won’t be disappointed!!

Super nice folks on both sides of the counter. Had fun visiting with other customers while waiting. Pork sandwich and greens were as authentic as they come. I am looking forward to trying other menu items as opportunity allows.

I'm from the north side of Atlanta and participate in an annual dart tournament in Decatur. I visited Scruggs last year for the first time and had some some of the best BBQ i've ever eaten. I planned to eat there again this year but looked up regular hours and found that Scruggs was closed on the weekends. To my gleeful surprised they were open when I drove by. This is the best BBQ i've ever had. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome. The quality and amount of food is amazing. I'm hoping y'all will be open next year on the Saturday that the "Shoot for the Moon" dart tournament takes place. See you next year!

When I want fresh, not out of a box delicious food, I go to Scruggs BBQ. The food and service is great. My personal favorite is the loaded baked potatoes.

Everything you would expect from a local BBQ spot! Had the brisket sandwich and it was on point! BBQ beans were awesome

This is a busy place at lunch time throughout the week. The food is good and the service is usually pretty fast unless your order gets misplaced as ours did once and resulted in a 45 minute wait. Usually, you should have your food within 10 minutes. The ribs are really good. The baked beans are tasty. I'm not a fan of the slaw. The pulled pork is good, but it isn't anything outstanding compared to other BBQ restaurants we travel to regularly. The atmosphere is one medium sized open dining area with a couple of tvs hanging on the wall. There's usually news on one and sports on the other.

Owner very aggressive when ask why she charged me for a full meal an got half of the order then was very angry because I ask her why she charged me full price when I got half quarter chicken

Stopped by at 1pm on a Wednesday and they were closed. Disappointed. Always enjoy the food

Please please stop putting so much Suger in the greens and cornbread I threw my whole meal away from all that sugar the Mac and cheese even tasted like sugar when we order from my job we use to ordering 13 and 14 baked potatoes at a Time and today was the first time I came in and sat down and ate and I did not enjoy it

Just phenomenal BBQ. We compared the top 11 spots in Decatur side by side. Scruggs had some of the best pulled pork. Sides were great and people were fantastic. This is far and away my go-to BBQ spot when in Decatur.

Some of the best sides, anywhere. Mac and cheese is a winner, heard good things about the turnip greens and fried okra. Portions are generous and the meat is good. The brisket is excellent. Go hungry or be prepared for a to go box.

It's not a big place but you won't find better food anywhere else. If it was in a big city people would be standing in line for hours to eat here.

Delicious!! We had pulled pork, green beans, potato salad, baked beans and yams-it was ALL DELICIOUS!! We’ll definitely be back (even though it’s a 45 minute drive from home for us-it was that good!).

I had a rib plate to go, with baked beans and turnip greens. The ribs were great, and there were plenty of them, but they were a little small. They had a good smoked flavor and a really good sauce. The baked beans were good, enhanced with ground beef. The turnip greens were really good, and could have been better if I had thought to put some pepper sauce on them before I left. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired, but after all, it's a rib joint, and a good one at that. I return soon to try some of their other BBQ.

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had!! Especially in Alabama!😆 We take our brisket serious in Tennessee and Scruggs' is phenomenal!!

We loved it. My husband enjoyed the food and music. It’s that place that makes you want to hang around all day. The owner or manager immediately knew we were not from the area. My husband found that hilarious but he was probably looking like a kid in the candy store, since he loves bbq. We will return.

I love the Brisket the side besides the hot fried okra are ok!

Loved trying the Pulled Chicken Plate with Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Roll, & Unsweet Tea with Red Velvet Square Cakes for my taste of my experience & it was all good & it happens to be my first time to dine in Scruggs BBQ in Decatur, AL this year.

Was introduced to this place by co workers and was so glad to find out about the amazing food. The portions brought out were amazing and SO delicious. Those were some of the best greens I have ever had. The staff and servers were so professional and welcoming to our group. The is the real deal and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to go again some day soon. I highly recommend this place to everyone!
