Best seafood restaurant in the area. John is the best cook ever!!

We have lived here 3 years and just found out about his place from our neighbor. When I seen the soft Crab Po'Boy I was sold. Wife had her usual she gets everywhere Fried Shrimp Platter. I also had the Fried Green Tomatoes. Mmmm good. I'll be back.

Good food. Little pricey. Around 75 for 4 people.

Omg!!! Best seafood ever! I got a combo platter with fried catfish. Shrimp, fries & baked beans. Couldn't have been any better, love it!!!!

Off the top, the customer service was A-1. I didn’t get the woman’s name behind the counter but she was the sweetest lady. Food was great. Only complaint I have is my greens had too many stems in them. Those who eat greens know what I mean. That will not stop me from going back on my next visit to Pensacola though. This is the first restaurant I went to during my visit so they set the bar. I went to another seafood place in the same area and it did not meet the mark.

Absolutely delicious food served by a caring and hospitable staff. Ms. Denise up at the register is just the kindest server I think I’ve ever had. Mr. John, his son, and the rest of their kitchen also throw it down back there! Here to tell you, if you’re looking for some seafood- this is the spot. The lumpia on the appetizer menu is a 20/10 must try. It’s rare to find a place in which all the sides and all the mains are good- but 👀 everything here tasty.

Food is great and staff is nice and friendly. The place is small and seats uncomfortable so is probably best to get to go if that's a concern.

It's great little restaurant with quick service and good food. They have a massive po'boy sandwich with sausage, oysters, and shrimp on it and great appetizers. Their gumbo is good and they have fresh mullet too. Definitely worth checking out.

Food is good. Lady working the register seems to struggle with taking orders and answering the phone. I was on hold for 7 minutes, overheard every order being taken, and she never picked phone back up. I finally hung up and drove up there. While I was there she did the same to someone else that called in. Good food, poor service.

Great food, not the fastest service and not exactly a fancy place, but oh man, the food is worth the visit.

We previously reviewed Shannon's and gave a great review. We felt we needed to update the former review because it was a completely different experience. We ordered two seafood meals. So I went to go pick up our food. I went to the front desk to pick up and pay. The women who was upfront had me wait for at least 2 to 3 minutes to grab my order. She kept stalling and handing out silverware, looking out the windows and just being strange. Then she literally kept measuring each condiment that came with the order. It was ridiculous. Like she was personally invested in each cup😅. Then the portions were barely what they used to be? I dont know if that was because of her or there's now portion control. We've been eating there for some time now. But with that whole experience, I doubt if well ever be back. And maybe get rid of that associate!?

Fried green tomatoes mm..mmm. Dirty French fries made with roast beef so so good. Large portions so had lunch next day also.

This is a mom and pop type of business that has great food! I love the platters with oysters, shrimp, and soft crabs.. The greens are delicious! The people are soooo nice and personable!

Everyone is very friendly. The catfish and Mahi Grits are good. The flounder may have been slightly over-fried.

There were four of us. We had 2 mullet plates, a shrimp po boy, and a shrimp plate. The shrimp plate had enough shrimp to eat and still have a doggie bag. The mullet plates had plenty of fish. The po boy was overflowing with shrimp. My favorite thing was the hot and crispy fries. I also liked the cucumber and tomato salad. Overall, it was a very nice dining experience. We were all very satisfied with the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

Awful experience with the male owner. I came into Shannon’s for food and was working the area at the time searching for the owner of the buildings for some county work needing to be done. The cashier thought maybe the owner of Shannon’s who was there at the time could help me with getting in contact with the property owner. The owner of Shannon’s came out and immediately had an attitude with me asking why I didn’t go ask any of the buildings other tenants and questioning me on things that were irrelevant to getting the info I needed. I responded with I could gladly go ask someone else that this just seemed convenient considering I was going to eat there. His demeanor changed when he realized I was a customer as well. Food wasn’t even good, typical fried food which I would’ve much rather spent $45 on at the oar house

I hear such wonderful reviews about your restaurant, but I will never know since my days off are Sunday and Monday. So many people, especially hair dressers, estheticians and nail techs have these days off as well. As a self-proclaimed foodie seeking the best eats in Pensacola, I was thrilled to discover Shannon's Seafood Kitchen. This modest spot serves up fresh, delicious seafood at wallet-friendly prices. I started with fried green tomatoes, sliced and expertly fried in a light cornmeal batter till crispy outside and melty inside - simply delectable. The shrimp po' boy that followed was a thing of beauty, stacked with plump, juicy shrimp fried golden and topped with lettuce, tomato and their fantastic house sauce on a toasted roll. Every bite was sheer joy. While the restaurant itself is small with just a few tables, the focus is on serving quality, Southern-inspired seafood classics. The service is welcoming and attentive. In the past 2 weeks I have stopped or called and they were closed during their normal business hours. I hope they didn't go out of business.

We were so hungry, i forgot to take pics. Hubby and I were in the area and looking for dinner. Found Shannon's on the map. We had the catfish platter with cheese grits and collards and the combo platter with blackened shrimp and grouper and fries,cucumber/tomato salad. All was very good. The next time we are in the area, we will try to go much earlier though, as they were out of gumbo, tartar sauce, coleslaw, and hush puppies because all is homemade and when it's gone, it's gone. Highly recommend!

The first time we went there to eat the food was really good the next two times we went there they were closed a few hours before there shows there open but there closed so if you go have another choice in mind

Awesome fresh food. You got to try to mullet.

The atmosphere is rather sterile, but the food more than makes up for it.

Not a huge place, but that’s probably the best part. Plenty of seating for our family of 11, but a family style atmosphere. The food was fantastic! I had a bowl of gumbo that we shared. I then had mullet and grilled jumbo shrimp with seasoned fries, fried okra, and some banana pudding for dessert. Other members of the family tried other combinations with mahi mahi, grouper, flounder, chicken strips, fried shrimp, and a steak burger. We shared meals to taste everything and it was all great. Everyone has their preferences, but I enjoyed tasting all of it. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. Very pleased!

All of the food was really good, and the lady (Lexy) working was very nice and helpful!

I’m not a fishy guy, but that was some of the best fish I’ve had!!! Lexy was an amazing server! Banana pudding was one of the best puddings I have ever had as well!! Overall and amazing restaurant for family.

They were about to close when I arrived, so I got takeout. By the time I got home about 20 minutes later, I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful the food was! It was still piping hot and absolutely delicious!! The grouper was so fresh, and lightly coated with a cornmeal mix, so the fish flavor was dominant, rather than the breading. They also fried the fish and okra at the right temperature, so it didn't absorb a lot of oil and digest like a really heavy meal. The cheese grits and hush puppies were also very tasty. I wish they were open for longer hours, especially on the weekends. I've only been in this area for about a year, and this was the best grouper I've had, hands down. I highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you for the great food and service, Shannon's Seafood Kitchen staff!!

Simply amazing!!!! I can't wait to go back and try more off the menu. Great atmosphere and food to die for! The kids loved it too. Update: I've tried more off the menu and it just gets better and better!!! Best Mullet in town!!!

Food was goo, but took over 30 min just to get an appetizer. Then wanted to bring entrees immediately after. No apologies when we said something about the wait time.
