Great folks, amazing rooms, breath taking views from your room!

Place is an absolute gem. Can't beat the price for the mellow atmosphere and the views! Great for a friendly get together.

We would absolutely stay again. It isn't a completely accessible building-the stairs and levels that are part of the charm are tricky and you should know that going in. However, the breathtaking views, the amazing staff, the blend of modern and eclectic make it all worthwhile.

The building is rather old so you can hear others rustling about but it didn't bother me. Very clean with a general merch store & restaurant. Wonderful staff, good food & fantastic views & atmosphere. I would definitely recommend staying here & plan to do so again in the future.

Great hospitality and attention to detail. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have slept in away from home. Breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious. The beautiful mountain sunrise views put this quiet old fashioned roadside inn over the top.

I personally work at the restaurant and am at this establishment daily and have had my friends stay here, and my best friends family used to own it before,and he built the beautiful bar btw, and I must say the food is excellent! Everyone enjoys our restaurant vibe and service so far, so pretty sure it's an all around good experience and would recommend to others!

We were scouting out some new adventure trips and happened to fall on this GEM while riding our motorcycle on the Blue Ridge Parkway. What a lovely place. If you want to stay somewhere with amazing hosts/managers, unique history and super clean rooms. (And awesome hot shower too) This is the place. Not to mention one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, parking for our motorcycles, amazing views and great hospitality. We will be back here hopefully with a full group of clients 🙂 Thanks Tamara and Kevin.

The reviews speak for themselves. The reason people like this place so much is because everything about it is genuine, starting with the people. Two suggestions: 1. Make time to sit outside and enjoy the view. 2. Sit at the bar and have dinner downstairs. The bartender is awesome. The drinks are awesome and the bison burger is off the charts.

This was the second time I have stayed at the Inn. Views from my room was awesome. Staff was great at the Inn. The restaurant and bar at night timing was great. I did have an issue but the owners went out of there way and called me ,made it right and with an explanation. That’s rare now days, I do plan on returning next year. Great place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here for the second time.Wth this new management,the experience was even better. Rooms were beautifully made. It was quiet up on the balcony overlooking the mountains. They even have a game room stocked with drinks and popcorn. For this area, we are making this our go to hotel!!!

The Inn is a quaint, pleasantly old fashioned place to stay with a gorgeous view. The rooms were very clean and supplied. The general managers were friendly and have a sweet cat named Apple that would greet any guest she came across. The Skyline Restaurant and Bar is also a great place to eat and drink.

Excellent room. Could use hooks on bathroom door for clothes or towels. Beautiful view from balcony. No housekeeping available. Management say they will mail to me something I forgot in room and I am grateful for that. I do intend to stay here on my next visit to the area.

Absolutely amazing views. Great staff, very friendly. Lots of fun motorcycle roads all around. 2 seconds from blueridge parkway. The skyline has a covered motorcycle parking and a bike wash. Love this place and will back for sure.

Skyline Inn is the a must for any Blue Ridge Parkway traveler!!! It is literally right next to it. We absolutely loved everything...the history, the charm, the cozy rooms and comfortable beds, the view, the game room, the period decor, the motorcycle wash station and covered motorcycle parking, the attention to detail on so many levels, and best of all is the warmth and kindness of Tamara and Kevin! Their cat Apple was also quite charming!🥰

We wanted to try the Skyline Restaurant and Bar on our trip to Little Switzerland this year since we found out that Donnie was the chef there now. We were delighted by the delicious meal we all had and Donnie prepared our ribeye just the way we like it! The food is so tasty and the cocktails were amazing! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with modern touches. We will be recommending the Skyline Restaurant and Bar to our friends and will be back next year for sure!!

Been here several times before,this time it was under new owners. They tried to make it more contemporary and I wasn't a fan of i liked the way it was before. The restaurant has been upscaled with Fantastic food but pricey. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The view are always great and the atmosphere never disappoints.

An amazing little slice of heaven. Everyone was wonderful and everything was delightful. They went above and beyond in helping us celebrate my father's 90th birthday. The beds were so comfy!

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience here. The rooms are clean, the beds are super comfy (lots of pillows and blankets), AC, work area, fridge, ect. Everything you need to make it a home away from home. There is a restaurant on location that serves quality food, and the hotels managers are attentive, personable, and genuinely nice. Their top priority is guest comfort and they are always seeking ways to improve guests experience. The view is also unbeatable. There are patios and deck chairs overlooking the stunning landscape. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

Tamara and Kevin are awesome. Extremely attentive and made sure we had all of the comforts we needed. We visited for the alien festival and they had a great package that actually allowed us to mingle with the speakers. They had light snacks and drinks for us to enjoy! The restaurant was very good and affordable and it was nice to have good food right downstairs. The view is spectacular! The rooms are nice and there is enough room for two people. The only thing I would recommend is a small dresser to put clothes into. There was a place to hang, but with two people for 4 days one of us had to live out of our suitcase. Other than that very small minor detail, we had a great experience. Thank you for making our first trip to spruce pine amazing. Can't wait to visit again!

I've been here maybe six times in the last six years. It's under new management and it's still an amazing place. Maybe better. They are very motorcycle friendly. This past time, we stayed there, we were on the trails with a bad thunerstorm rolling in. I called and asked if we could get an early check-in. It was no problem at all. The entire staff is very friendly. The food is great, and their barkeep made the best old-fashioned I've ever had. It's an old building, so don't expect the latest and greatest. Instead, expect a cool old building with a fascinating bootlegger history.

In my experience and opinion, our meal was good. Service was Great from Devin. I ordered the Sweet Potato Biscuits, with my entre, which were very expensive for 2 with honey dipping sauce - cost $10.00 There was no trace of sweet potato in them. I recommend the Cook add more sweet potatoes to the recipe. I plan on going back with a Friend. I will tell others to go there.

We really enjoyed our first time stay at the Skyline. Great rooms, lots of towels, very clean, and a groovy historic inn. The new management team is doing a great job making the place welcoming and comfortable. We were motorcycling in the area and this is a super place to stop. Great food, awesome breakfast, and nice amenities for motorcycles: a cycle barn/covered parking area, safe parking, and a cleaning station. Woohoo, even made us look good. Thank you.

Highly recommend!! My husband and I needed a last minute place to stay when traveling and we were thrilled to find the Skyline Village Inn! The innkeepers were so accommodating and it was wonderful to have a restaurant and bar onsite with excellent food and great service! And the views were spectacular!!

We live 3 miles from the Skyline Inn so we have not stayed there but i took my wife there for dinner this evening and HIGHLY recommend it. The food was awesome and the staff very accommodating and friendly. Im quite sure a nights stay would he well worth it and yes the location and the views are stunning

My family and I like to find off the path places to stay and Skyline Village didn't disappoint! The room was very comfortable, the view; spectacular, the inn keepers; Amazing! We advised the Inn keepers that we had a food allergy and they made us breakfast minus the allergy and the food was sooooo good! We definitely would like to come back and stay for more than one night! Awesome place!

Easy check in and out. Clean with comfortable beds .Not many choices in spruce pine but this is our go to place to stay when in SP. This was our 2nd stay in 10yrs and will be back we love it.

Where do I start? The owners were so incredibly kind to my new wife and I on our honeymoon. We chose to stay there partly because I stayed there growing up. We hope to come back next year. It has all the charm it did way back then and you will love this place!!!

Enjoyed staying a night at the historic Skyline Village Inn. The view from the overlook observation deck in front of the Inn is beautiful, for both sunrise and sunset. The Inn is located less than a mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hotel is from the 1940's, so the rooms reflect the history of the hotel. Comfortable beds, great AC unit in the room, and the staff were helpful in providing anything I needed.

Great mountain stay for a weekend of leaf peeping and hikes! Amazing sunrise views and perfect location to get on the BRP. Comfy bed, good continental breakfast and friendly staff. Head into Spruce Pine for dinner at new taco place and local beer at the brewery.

Amazing week here in our Premium Private Balcony King private room! Outstanding views directly off the Blue Ridge Pkwy, very dedicated & caring inn keepers (Desiree & Steve) they made u feel like family! This historical inn has been renovated but kept the historical touches that were important to us! Breakfast was very convenient in a common room which also doubles as a game/tv room! Located perfectly in the middle of the Blue Ridge Parkway! Spruce Pine is close by for either pub or better dining food options! We had a great time & highly recommend!

Beautiful location with great amenities! My wife and I rode our motorcycle to is hotel for a short weekend get away. They were right off of the Blue Rodge Parkway seated on the ridge of the mountain with stunning views. The parking lot had ample parking and designated covered motorcycle parking. The staff were frendley and accommodating. It was the first cold week of the year getting down into the 30s. The water was hot and the beds were comfortable as well as warm. The hotel also had a shop that sold craft beer and energy drinks (biker fuel). Would recommend to anyone!

Nice little mountain inn with breathtaking views. Reminds you of a big bed and breakfast. Decor is a bit dated but room was clean. The management is very responsive and actively involved with renovating the place. This was a worthwhile stay.

Gorgeous, quiet place nestled into the mountains with a million dollar view of the Blue Ridge! The service was great, very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean, and so cozy! The balconies to walk out and see the mountains were really nice. Seeing the sunrise and sunset was absolutely breathtaking. Definitely recommend staying here if you’re passing through! It’s such a cool little spot!

My wife and I loved this place! Reminds me so much of mountain trips as a kid with my grandparents - but updated with wifi and great showers... Location is awesome for multiple reasons: access to Blue Ridge Parkway, mountain views off our balcony room, and nearby food and drinks in Spruce Pine. Really laid back and welcoming.

Motorcycle road trip Blue ridge parkway

This Inn is filled with old world charm and being updated with modern conveniences. Staff is first class. You can bring your pet or pet the manager’s puppy. Location is great for mountain views, rockhounding and exploring Spruce Pine which has several new and excellent restaurants. Who would think you could find delicious Farm to table, fish fry., Mexican, Thai , Chicken Wings and coffee shop/ bakeries in such a little town. The Inn and Spruce Pine are peaceful and friendly places.

My husband and I did a Blue Ridge Parkway road trip and stayed here. We will be back and recommend it highly!! If you are looking for a hotel with old world charm but with great beds, nice linens, friendly staff and great views, this your kinda place! We stayed in a balcony room and had our own Adirondack chairs to sit in and look at the gorgeous view. 5 star all the way!

Under new ownership. I love this place. The room was 306. Tiny room with it’s fabulous view. The ladies running the hotel are so so so nice Service was amazing. Dining room is under renovation. But they made breakfast so good. Bagels. Fresh fruit. Cornbread. Coffee tea, orange juice. Etc. their doing so much work to update just about everything. We met such nice people who have been there before. It was pretty darn good.

This is a hometown type hotel, and the service exceeds expectations. You don’t get this type of service at a Hilton! They have a covered bike barn for anyone on a motorcycle. This is an owner operated hotel, and it shows. They do genuinely care about your experience here. They went above and beyond for us, anytime we’re in the area we’ll definitely stay again!

The facility is done as an older style travel lodge. Instead of trying to make it a poorly adapted upgrade. It holds on to its older fashion and the upgrades stay true to its roots. Which makes it a gem. The service is personable. The rooms and especially the bedding are very comfortable. The facility is clean. My family and I all got a great night’s sleep there. For 10 days, my family stayed at hotels, lodges, cabins- you name it. But this was the best night of sleep for all of us. The game room is well done. And I never heard it from my room. The families had recommended dinner locations. And my dinner at one of the locations was amazing. Breakfast was great. The owner /manager is hands on and invested in making everyone’s stay, a good one. It’s nice to know places like this still exist. I would come back and stay there again. And if I come back to the area. I will. Lev

Desire and Steve are excellent hosts! I was there by myself and they greeted me with a warm welcome! Got to talk to them about the history of the lnn, what a cool place. It has a quaint old world charm with views for miles. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. Nice big pillows too. I was there to drive the twisty roads like the Diamond Back in my sports car. The location was perfect right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The lnn was a great place to enjoy my vacation! I can't wait to go back.

I can't say enough good things about this place and the staff! The views were spectacular. Rooms were quaint and clean. The location felt so far away from the downtown area, but was just a short drive from anything you needed. If we are ever in the area again, we will most definitely be back!

My husband has wanted to stay at Skyline for years and we finally made it a reality. We loved the old historic charm of the Inn married with the modern conveniences that we all want in a stay. The beds were very comfortable and were appointed with nice linens. Thank you for allowing pets traveling with their parents to stay - Otis had a great time. But the best was the view and ability to sit on the porch and enjoy the changing of the day to evening. Desiree and her husband were great hosts! We would definitely recommend a stay at Skyline Village Inn.

Stayed here for the first time. they're doing a lot of work and fixing it up really nice. The restaurant is not open yet. They are renovating. They do have a continental breakfast. It was quieter than I thought it would be for sleeping.

Had an amazing night at the inn! The beds were clean and comfortable and you can tell the work the staff have put in to get the inn updated. The game room was fun with pool and darts. But the best part was the view and service. Beautiful and very friendly! Plan on coming back soon!

We had a wonderful stay at Skyline. The room was a little small but the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming. Really good continental breakfast with fresh fruit. If we come back to Spruce Pine or near there, we will stay here again.

The workers were super friendly. Our room was cozy. The bed could be updated in room 202. The balcony was nice, the view is beautiful and the game room is fun. I would stay here again.

We adored our stay at the Skyline Village Inn and can’t wait to be back. Comfy beds, amazing balcony with view (and cover during the rain), gracious hosts (Desiree & Steve were so kind), delicious breakfast, fun game room, great location, comfy beds, super clean room – what more could you want?! Loved this little hotel! Great views of the mountains, very clean and quiet. Hosts are gracious and friendly, we really appreciated their hospitality. There are a few restaurants in the area but several are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which is when we were there of course. However, the Puerto Nuevo Mexican restaurant was decent and we enjoyed our evening meal. There also happens to be a Walmart nearby for those needing groceries for picnic meals. I really appreciated having oatmeal (instant but at least an option) and fresh fruit for breakfast! Most hotels don’t seem to offer anything but junk food for a continental breakfast!

Great experience. Quaint and historic. The current team onsite is keeping up tradition but trying to keep it current and honoring the past. It is a work in progress looking to keep the past of the inn in total perspective and an eye on the future Great place to stay and a great view. Dale

My wife and I loved our stay. The owners/employees were very friendly. The location is perfect for looking at the beautiful mountains. Our room was clean and full of all the amenities!

The Skyline Village Inn was an excellent place to stay and was very well managed. The rooms were very clean and the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains are excellent from the Skyline Inn. The management and staff were very helpful and friendly. Hiking, rafting, and shopping are all close by.

Nous n’avons pas l’impression d’avoir séjourné au même endroit que les autres hôtes de cet hôtel : 2 étoiles pour l’emplacement et la vue plus une pour les propriétaires qui ont accepté de nous recevoir à 19.30 heures après les avoir prévenu alors que la réception ferme à 18 heures !! Aucune possibilité de dîner sur place , la chambre est très basique et surannée, le matelas à connu de meilleurs temps et le petit déjeuner se limite à un café et des donuts. Le rapport qualité-prix n’est pas ce que les commentaires laissent attendre.

My group of road cyclists stayed here as base to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Skyline is conveniently located directly near one of the exits of the Blue Ride Parkway. It has a rustic atmosphere with great character. The view from our third floor balcony was spectacular. We all especially enjoyed the common area with pool table and darts. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We hope to plan another visit soon.

Desiree and Stever were outstanding. The views were incredible. Parking was...interesting and they accomodated our motorcycles and trailers with ease. I think that they are new owners and planning some much needed changes. The place is very charming, but needs some updates and a deep cleaning (both expected during such a transition). I'd like to go back once the restaurant is back to serving customers. Our stay there allowed the group to make some nice memories.

Amazing experience!!! We cannot say enough good things about this inn! The hosts were absolutely the best EVER!! They’re so accommodating and caring!! The inn is very clean, updated yet the charm remains with quite the history! The absolute best thing is the view right from your door/balcony! This place is just stunning!!! A definite must stay!! We stayed at the Skyline Village Inn and it was OUTSTANDING! The views are phenomenal, the rooms were clean, the location was perfect, and the best part were the owners and service. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel like we were their only guests :) They checked in when we arrived at the airport, provided us with great restaurant recommendations, and ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay. I would highly recommend the Skyline Village Inn and we hope to be back soon!

This place is awesome nice old and up to date at the same time. Mat and Jacob with take care of you above and beyond. Go anytime of year you won’t regret it they are awesome !

We went here for a short trip to the mountains and it was fantastic. It's right off of Blue Ridge Parkway which is why we chose it. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious- I LOVED the pancake. They have a lounge room that we actually spent a lot of time in. We played pool, darts, and Uno. This place has a pretty cool history that was fun to learn about. I would love to come back in the warmer months so we can spend more time on the patio or balcony. The hosts were extremely welcoming and I immediately felt comfortable when we checked in. I recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay!!

Rooms are very comfortable and clean this is a older Inn but they are working on updates bit overall it felt very home like and laid back. They took great care of us. We will be back

Very friendly staff and clean rooms

We were met at the door by Matt, it was a foggy night so after I called to ask about check in, he waited on us to make sure we made it ok. He took us to our room and showed us around informing us to everything we needed to know. We got up the next morning and the fog had lifted and the view was breathtaking. We ate breakfast that Jacob had prepared and we didn't eat until dinner. It was so good and filling. The inn has a lot of interesting history. We felt like honored guest and enjoyed our stay.

Just returned two weeks ago from my third stay at the Skyline Village and booked my next stay before I left. The Skyline is my mountain home away from home. It is perfectly located for access to the BRP and surrounding area, which in my mind is the most beautiful section of the Parkway. The Skyline is a historical gem with gorgeous balcony views of the mountains and sunrise. They offer daily breakfast and dinner which are a perfect beginning and ending to your day. I was there for the transition from Mitch and Marla to Matt and Jacob and am excited to see Matt and Jacob continue the stellar customer service that the Skyline has become known for. I hope to remain a guest for many more years to come. William Hedgepath

I did not stay at this Inn but wanted to share my experience as how staff treat people is always a factor in where I spend my money. I came to the area for a solo mountain getaway w/ my dog. I noticed there was a beautiful lookout directly across from this Inn when looking for a place to watch the sunrise. There were no other cars/people (I wouldnt have choose this spot if I were disturbing guests/staff). Arrived at 645am, sat bundled w/ a blanket and left at 7:50am. Beautiful views & the Inn has historic charm. While watching the sunrise I thought about staying at the Inn on my next trip & also sharing the Inn with family/friends. As I was getting into my vehicle, I was abruptly approached by a female staff. I smiled & waved, she did not greet me back and stated I am not allowed to sleep there. I questioned her comment and she stated she saw my car/me there all night sleeping & I needed to leave. I explained there are signs cameras are in use and to check I arrived at 645am to watch the sunrise. She stormed away as I was speaking & was very rude. 1) She lied when stating she saw me all night sleeping. 2) if I were homeless & had a vehicle, I would chose my car to sleep in over cement on a 40 degree night. 3) if I were homeless, she should have some more compassion and treat all individuals with respect. I will no longer ever plan on staying at this Inn or recommend this Inn to others. Beautiful views, only thing lacking here is pleasant staff.

Our stay at Skyline Village Inn was wonderful because of the inn keepers Mitch and Marla🤗 We were celebrating our daughters wedding weekend and they made sure we had everything we needed and then some. They allowed us to use the game room to create bouquets and keep the grandkids busy. The food was over the top. One of the best steaks we’ve ever had. The inn keepers, the gorgeous view, and the charm of the inn and a great price was more than we could’ve hoped for🤩

We stayed here for my wedding weekend with our family! Such a beautiful inn, the view was absolutely breathtaking! The dinners and breakfasts were delicious!!! Mitch and Marla were so wonderful and incredible customer service. So much beauty and history! 10/10 reccomend!

The managers, Mitch and Marla, made the stay very enjoyable. They prepared fabulous home cooked meals for a VERY reasonable price. The Skyline Inn is a very vintage hotel with all original structures and wood throughout. Even has antique furniture in rooms and common areas. Beautiful views of mountains and gorgeous sunrises. A very quaint and endearing location with history galore.

Very friendly and welcoming managers. Loved the balcony and view. Room was just as advertised. Great beds, good pillows. Great breakfast, eggs, pancakes, crispy hash browns just the way I like them, watermelon, toast, coffee , juice.and worth the money. Got a tour to se the bootleggers cave. Lots of parking.

I stayed here in 2014, the owners were great even had time with my dogs. I rented 2 rooms. One with a former resident of Spruce Pine years ago, she worked at the Challe. Me and my husband came with our old dogs, I kept 2 in my room ,the 3rd stayed in the other room with my friend. My dogs were old, one has passed away. They were awesome dogs done nothing in the rooms, and I left the 2 rooms very clean just like when I arrived. Even cleaned the tub before I left ( because I have really long hair). We had a great time. We didn't know until we were headed down the mountain but my husband had a mini stroke, and later a bad stroke. Me and him are blessed to have that time together, the pictures that bring us back here
