I have always wanted to try this place and they sent me a bday meal. First time and I was not impressed. Beef brisket was all burnt and inedible. And they gave me the wrong drink. I asked for lemonade and when I got home it was water

Went in for carry out. I ordered 1 meal. Waited for over 20 minutes watching people who ordered after me get their orders. The cashier so oh it’s just the way I’m grabbing them. When I finally got it the order was wrong and had to be remade.

Had a to go order. Everything was great!😌

Drive-thru is always timely for the quality of food. The people working the window are always so nice and happy also!

The temperature of the food was slightly below the ideal serving temperature, and the portion sizes appeared to have decreased in comparison to previous experiences, while the cost remained the same or had increased.

So I learned something new when ordering brisket at Sonny's they have regular brisket and they have sliced brisket the regular biscuit has more fat than the sliced brisket so when you order it just know that.

Everything about this location is great, food and service… BUT… the screeching of the chairs on the floor is absolutely maddening. Despite talking to management and the owner multiple times, there is still no fix, despite them promising a fix is coming soon. I won’t be back until they figure out a fix.

Order a regular coke for 3.50 you get a diet you can't drink. And no straw either. .. Side of tots. You get a huge container for a handful of broken tots . Ask for lean you get 80/20. 80 % lard 20% edible beef..

Very attentive service & the food and drinks were out of this world. Big thanks to our lovely waitress Katherine M (she definitely deserves a raise) the quality of service she provided exceeded expectations. 👏👌

They must of changed their coke slaw recipe was not a fan.

Great place to eat with family and friends who were visiting. Staff was very patient and helped with all our questions.

The food was very delicious and they served us quickly. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes and we already had what we ordered.

Ribs burnt and dry, smoked Turkey dry, baby back ribs mostly fat, but cornbread was good.

God bless the people that work here. They have to put up with a bunch of winey customers who complain constantly when the slightest thing doesn't go there way. the people working here are doing a fantastic job regardless of what all the cry baby customers have to say about any of them. Keep working hard yall. I hope you guys get a big pay raise. Tell the people who are bytching for no reason to go jump out of a ten story window for christ sake. One love yall hold it down

Food was hot and ready before the promised pickup time!

From the BBQ to the coleslaw everything was a touch too sweet.

Burgers are excellent although I asked for medium rare keep getting medium well Apparently nothing can be done about it. The wait staff just apologises.

We don't have a Sonny's anymore in Fort Myers, so we love coming to this Sonny's when in Apopka. Food and service excellent. Highly recommend if you haven't experienced Sonny's this is the place to start.

Take out order of ribs and sliced brisket. They were delicious.

Had to wait forever for my curbside pickup order, and got home with it to realize they didn't include my corn nuggets. The food itself that we did get was not very tasty. The egg rolls were soggy and mushy, the garlic bread tasted as though not even toasted. And I spent $75!

Food was okay. The pulled Pork was very dry. The Baby Back Ribs were good but not great.

I was disappointed about the experience this time, on Sunday at 4:30 pm before the crowds hit. It look about 3 minutes for the food to come out and about half of the fries were simply uncooked. Not just soggy but really undercooked. Also, I didn't like how the waitress stared at the credit card machine as I was being asked for the tip. I'm sure that's a technique to get a better tip but it is unprofessional. There are too many restaurant options to put up with a kitchen that can't even be bothered to cook the food!

This place is in notorious for giving you orders that are light. Ordered (1/2 pound) 8 ounces of brisket got home weighed it because it looked light and it was 4 1/2 ounces. Ordered a pound today It weighed 14 ounces ounces. Have them weigh in front of you or take your own scales it’s a dirty way to increase your bottom line when you’re not serving your customers what they pay for. The ironic thing is the customer before me questioning about his order and they said it all goes by weight.

Mrs. Denise was a gem!! Welcomed us as if we were in her home. A true pleasant lady!!!!! Oh and the ribs were great too 😆

My favorite BBQ in all central Florida. Had the St. Louis Ribs and they are so meaty and have a little tug on the bone. Excellent.

Fries were cold and hard, the baked beans were like paste, the meats were luke warm at best, The server tried to help, but very disappointed in the food. Its been a while since we have been to Sonny's not sure if we will be going back. We dined at 8pm on Saturday.

If you like BBQ, you'll love Sonny's. I really like their pulled pork and ribs. I do miss their salad bar, which was one of my favorites, but has been gone since Covid hit. The corn muffins are soft and flavorful. Garlic bread is good, but don't get it with a to go or delivery order or it tends to get soggy. Corn nuggets are always a hit with my family. Their chicken is not the best, it lacks flavor on its own and needs to be smothered with sauce to eat in my opinion. They recently added collard greens and they are just the way I like them with lots of meat. Coleslaw is sweet and delicious. Good place to take your family for a delicious big meal.

The Apopka Sonny's is full of great servers and managers but Heather in the bar is one of the best. Whether she's running solo or training someone new her standards remain the same. She knows her regulars and is often ready with my tea when I take my spot at the bar. I know if she's working I'm in good hands

Amazing food definitely get what you psy for, the customer service is emacqulant and the environment was super welcoming. I had a Priscilla as my waitress and she was phenomenal very welcoming and very helpful in breaking down the menu and giving me advice on her favorites, big shout out to her.

The food is really good! The service is amazing, and staff is super funny and fun to be around! Some great barbecue for the price!!!! The server Priscilla, she was the greatest! Make sure to ask for her!!

I live 1.8 miles from Sonny's. My daughter called in another order while I was enroute. Both orders were ready and exactly as ordered. The special that was offered made dinner even more delicious! The to-go counter had it together, pleasant, efficient, and helped carry out drinks too! Win-win!

Busy night. Took awhile to get food

We had carry out but Food was ready and waited on promptly even tho they were very busy.

Everything was good except the coffee. It was bitter and had a burnt taste.

Omg, the food is the best. You smell the cooking and the smoke outside. You walk inside and hope that the food Taste as good as it smells outside, And yes, it will not disappoint. Thumbs up to my server. I wish I could remember her name. She was the best. She went above and beyond. We recommend Sonny's BBQ.

I have given this location the benefit of the doubt far too many times. The food is very good , that is IF you receive what you actually order. Even my simple loaded tots order gets messed up every single time. It’s honestly perplexing at this point. Don’t even try to get anything on the side or substituted/left off. I work in the service industry as well so i get how mistakes can happen, especially if something is ordered with specific requests or allergies. It’s really not a hard job imo but hey, to each their own i GUESS. The food is fairly priced but considering my order is wrong every single damn time, i would go ahead and say to save your money and go elsewhere. It’s simply not worth it here. Do better. Xoxo

Yesterday was the first time in about 2 years since I’ve actually sat down and tried to dine in. A few weeks back I ordered just fries to go and they were all old and very much stale. I decided that maybe if I sit down the experience would be much better. I came in with my lady and we were looking forward to the fries and sweet tea. Our waitress was very nice, as were the other people working there. We placed our orders, and within 3-4 minutes tops our food was ready. We both looked pretty shocked, but the waitress reassured us that “they knew we were coming”. We both ordered fries with our orders, and both orders were cold, stale, and not fresh. The garlic bread was also not fresh. I requested nicely to speak to a manager. The manager came out and I explained to him we literally came for the fries and this is the second time we have been disappointed by this location. I told him we both wanted to leave. The manager told us he wanted to remake our food personally, to ensure it was a better experience. When our food came back out we were actually satisfied by how hot and fresh our food was. Then my lady took a bite into her sandwich and discovered a small, black, curly hair sitting where her last bite was… And she has straight reddish/brown hair. I grabbed her plate and told the manager to give this plate a closer look. He told us he was so sorry.. but to be honest his persona was giving he had told this lie before. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back to Sonnys ever.

Great food and awesome service!

We took advantage of the Wednesday lunch special. It was great! Service and food was excellent as usual. We really like this particular Sonny's restaurant and meet up with our family a couple of times a month to enjoy the barbecue.

My family and I love Sonny's,even though it very expensive, this last time we went for lunch the waitress was very nice but the food was not worth it . The meat and veggies tasted like it was all freezer burnt.

I've been here at this restaurant before but I see they have new employees maybe new management. But this time the food was not good. Everything was cold from the chicken,bean and fries. One order was not correct instead of Mac and cheese they brought bake beans which was cold. We asked if the had a microwave if they heat up the Mac and cheese after they bought it out and the bake beans. Maybe the food will be better the next time if I return to this location in Apopka.

We always sit at the bar so Heather can wait on us and she always does a great job. She always remember what we drink as soon as we come in and has it ready. Kudos to Heather at Apopka, FL Sonny's!!!!

I've loved Sonny's since I was a kid. This is my first time reviewing due to a discovery today. I asked if their burgers could be customized, they affirmed this was possible. How about onion straws and bacon? Close, how about onion straws and home made bacon bits.. I said sold. After the first bite, I thought immediately everyone should know about this hack! Give it a try and like my review if you agree! It was so good, and they didn't even charge extra for the toppings. I love Sonny's! Edit: They now have the Jon burger on the menu, of course not called that and no credit to me! Also Priscilla is an amazing server!

Unfortunately, this location has been declining in quality of food, increasing prices and issuing much smaller portions. Staff is wonderful along with service, but kitchen also need some form of quality control before given out burnt food.

Before this appears as people who like to always rant about like pessimistic problem customers; never happy; looking to get something for nothing, NOT the case. Usually pretty good here! We had EXCELLENT customer service (Claudia, I believe), and usually there isn't much of a real issue with the food. Today musty've been an off day. Our server was very apologetic & offered to replace/sub. our items of concern, however when it comes to meats, but I usually come for 1 thing AYCE S&S Ribs (dried out/off flavor) w/ beans & fries; daughter had sampler (meats dried out & off except chic) w/ tots & mac (tasted funny); wife had 3 meats (brisk, pull pork, ribs tasted dry/freezer burn??) okra & fries (all fries tasted cold/grease logged) garlic breads little off also. Perhaps it was because it was somewhat early in day; perhaps leftovers from prev. night?? Idk! Usually pretty good there w/ little to no dissatisfaction.

Heather the bartender was amazing!! Very attentive to all our needs. I will always sit at the bar now when I visit.

Purchased a sliced pork sandwich and all I got was fat. Horrible!

I ordered the pick three meats platter with two sides and got the chicken wings, ribs and sliced pork with baked beans and a sweet potato. I was very happy with everything except the sliced pork which had way too much fat on it. Other than that

My brother and I eat at this location almost every weekend after our disc golf outings for the great food. and we enjoy sitting at the bar and visiting with Heather. She is a wonderful person and always takes great care of us.

Restaurant ran out of food as always. The fries were undercooked and the burger burns on the outside, but pink in the middle. Never say never, but after being absent for three months they haven't mastered the cooking portions. Going back to my favorite Sonny's located in Inverness, FL. Server was amazing, but the service on food was awful.

The food was good, it took 45 minutes to get the meal waitress only showed up twice in the whole meal and the last time for the bill

Levi was our polite & handsome server. His customer service was great! We can always count on the consistency of the baby back ribs here but disappointed to learn that they discontinued the corn on the cobb. We decided to try the collard greens instead. Yuck! PLEASE improve the recipe or replace those greens with something else.

Had to go back to Sonny's BBQ 2 weeks in a row. We decided to go thru the drive thru instead of dining in. Menu is great 👍. Last week my partner got the pulled pork sandwich & I got the Candied bacon 🥓 burger 🍔. It was SOOOOOOOOO good. I, never, had a steak burger so good. So she decided that she wanted it today so we, both, got the candied bacon burger & it didn't disappoint. We ❤️ it. 💯% recommend this burger.

Went thru the drive thru and ordered two 2 meat combos. One of them was right on but one of them was only 1 meat and was missing a side. When I called the store to let them know about the mistake, the young lady that answered started turning it on me because I didn't catch it when they rattled off the order at the pick up window even though the receipt showed the order correctly. They did not apologize and basically implied to me that It's the customers fault if they don't get the correct order. What has happened to customer satisfaction or even customer respect.

I ordered from here last night thru grubhub. The chicken was under cooked with blood still on the chicken. I want a refund! You can't eat under cooked chicken and you certainly can't sell it! A total waste of $38!

Was just there and I drive from ocoee because of the good service. But today I got the worst. Ordered appetizer and got it after our dinner was served and had to ask waitress for it. Service just sucked. Aww

Terrible, asked for light ice this woman fills it to the brim with ice! Even after I tipped her which I never do. The sides were bland and small portions as well. I won't be coming back at all it's not the same as it used to be
